Nomads is very big hostel! Kayla help me book a great tour, she is very kind thank you! I enjoy a lot.

I booked my holiday with Kayla to head up north, she was very informative and gave me the best advice I found around town. Thanks Kayla for making my trip a memorable one!

Really loved staying here. The place is like a resort in that, there's a pool, a bar, palm trees, a travel centre and helpful staff. The room was clean and really spacious! Plus it's at the end if town, so just a short walk to everything. Thanks to Kayla for organising my travels!

Clean and large rooms. The only hassle is that in general smelt constantly to bathe.

Cold water handle broken in our bathroom. Reception didn't provide ANY information besides my room number. Came back late at night and the entire front of the hostel was locked down. Had to squeeze through a fence gate. On the inside of the side gate it said you had to enter through the base hostel down the street after-hours. Minor detail? The kitchen is a sad neglected space and the bar is only open Fri-Sun, so you have to go to the Base bar. It's really one hostel (Base) pretending to operate as two.

Parties at the bar until a late hour every weekend which can keep you from sleeping if you're not a partying type of a person… there are no designated smoking areas, which bothered me as a non smoker since every smoker can smoke where ever they want… The kitchen looks like it has been forgotten and left behind. Almost all of the taps, excluding one, keep falling apart. There are almost no dishes or cutlery… No mugs for coffee or tea… Nearly impossible to cook. The fridge smelled aufwl and in general THE KITCHEN IS NEGLECTED. However the room was spacious and clean, the staff were friendly and helpful. There are hammocks and a pool. I would recommend this with an exclusion which is avoid the kitchen completely.

This is the second time I have stayed here and both times I stayed, I was pretty dissapointed and kind of felt a wee bit dirty after. The bathrooms the whole time I was there (two nights the second time) were not stocked with toilet paper. We asked staff to take fix this and they said they would, but it never happened. They were also incredibly dirty. Some of the staff were lovely, other were a bit cold. Also it is a bit of a party caravan park with a very busy bar. We went there and got blind on one of the nights but the second night we were keen on a decent sleep but couldnt due the bar playing loud music until midnight. By all means if you wasnt a loose weekend, this is your place! The reason I am giving two stars rather than one is due to the location, being right on the main drag.

The entire park has a very large hinterland, from the camping site to the cabin, with its own pool and bar, a very relaxing resort, but this time, the house when you get in there, there's a strong potion. It's for the ants, because even if there's no food in the room, and the ants are all over the place. The part of the facility needs to be strengthened.

Nice rooms. Too young guests, for a comfortable stay. A night club in the middle of the hostel area. Kitchen was a bit forgotten it seemed. No lockers for our luggage. Nice to have a toilet and shower in the room. Reception was friendly and helpful to stay here if you want to enjoy party.

Good outside space, clean rooms. TERRIBLE arrival — this chain make you download a ridiculous app which rather than make check ins efficient, just slows down the queue and pisses everyone off. No thanks, Tipi, I don't want you sending me marketing notifications 3x a day…

It is a really nice hostel compound. There is a pool and hammocks everywhere, which is pretty cool. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The kitchen and its kitchenware is quite dirty and people just leave stuff behind. The hostel is close to everything. There is a Woolworth and the airlie lagoon next to it.

Shower and toilet were very dirty. With Campervan absolutely 0 privacy. Like a normal parking lot. Way too expensive for what it offers!

+ It's a good basic hostel. Good location. Clean rooms. Kitchen available. — No Wi-Fi in the room unless you pay extra for it and no power outlet at the bed.

Tidy and clean rooms. The bathroom location is very well resolved by two separate showers and a separate toilet in each room.
However, the WLAN is capable of improvement.

The location is good, well in the center. The kitchen dirty as few, cockroaches down the floors.

Worst hostel Ive ever stayed in. Rooms are clean and nice cooled and comfortable. But I have to lower its average. Checking in is made impossible since you have to download their app. Via an incredibly slow Wi-Fi. With loads of people waiting to do the same. The kitchen have 0 utensils. It is impossible to make instant noodles. Grab a dominos for a few bucks but dont waste your time at this place. Dont expect to cook here. Do the whitsundays trip and leave. Their so called bar is never opened or was restricted with a private event. Stayed in 2 different rooms. 1 new with new bathroom was okay. The 2nd was discusting with a mold covered shower curtain.

Cockroaches in the kitchen, little to zero utensils, kitchen equipment barely working. Some facilities closed during advertised opening hours. Plenty of people from outside on hostel grounds. In the morning I found my loundry on the roof somehow. The bar is the only good thing but also means you won't get much sleep before midnight. 8 mix dorm is a decent room size and good bathroom. Magnums next door is 10 times better if you need more than just a bed.

The rv park is just a parking lot with very little space. The sign in process is a nightmare which could be alleviated by ditching the tipi app. The bar was closed and bringing your own alcohol is not permitted.

No free parking. Check In is not possible without the app teepee. They are forced to install. Overpriced Wi-Fi charges and free Wi-Fi is unusable.
Otherwise it is a beautiful area with 2 bars and a pool.

I spent a few days in a van on one of the campervan sites they offer. Decent price especially for Airlie beach but the amenities are pretty dirty, small and smelly which kinda tainted my perception of the place. Nice staff and a fairly nice site otherwise tho.

Do not leave anything in the communal kitchen. We had an entire bag of new groceries taken and a girl in our dorm had the same thing happen, which makes us think people are watching for people coming back from the shops. The place has a good atmosphere however the kitchen is absolutely disgusting with soaking wet towels under the fridge which weren't changed the whole time we were there, ants all over the food cupboards and the largest cockroach I have ever seen in our dorms bathroom. There was also no equipment at all in the kitchen, nor to hire out, we were given a paper cup which we had to make last 3 days!

They have asbestos and their rooms are trash. Shed bar is cool though.

Rooms are pretty low quality, but perfectly acceptable for the rate and the type of hostel. Nice pools, a bar on site and friendly staff.

Rooms were clean and spacious. Lively bar on site as well as a pool and volleyball area. Massive complex of dorms catering to all sorts. Wi-Fi was broken however.

It's a party hostel. A lot of fun if you like to drink and dance and be close to everything. If you want to sleep early request a room as far from the bar as possible. It still won't be very far. I spent the first night farthest from the bar and found it bearable. -Very lively bar with live music during the day and then club music at night. The atmosphere at this bar was actually really nice, felt a little like a festival with people spinning fire, someone busting out a saxophone, decent dj. -Kitchen was weird. No cutlery like someone mentioned before. -Nice pool, laundry services were good. -Hammocks outside to lounge in and a pool. -Bathroom in each unit which is a perk. The minus is that the toilet stall offers little privacy with a huge gap. If you're poop shy I imagine this setup to be your nightmare. -They're still sharing facilities with Base since the cyclone so be aware of that. Check in was average length for me at peak time. Not crazy, moved along. Staff were all pleasant. -my bed was comfy enough. Room smelled clean when I came in.

If you like camping on a slope and being kept awake until 3am from the nightclub next door, then this is just the place.

Great hostel in the center of Airlie. It's close to everything unless you're lazy… My room looked new, had a private bathroom and comfortable mattress… That was all I needed! They do have a bar in house but it didn't bother me to fall asleep with some live music. However, the receptionists could have been more pleasant so I could have give 5 stars A courtesy shuttle to the Greyhound would be appreciable too!

Good hostel, maybe distances are too big between kitchen, reception and some of the rooms. We stayed in a four-share two nights and were alone both nights, room was fresh and clean but the gap under the door allowed both lizards and cockroaches to get inside the room. But were kinda used to that by now and just blocked the gap under the door with a towel. Kitchen was too small and hot and could really need more cooking utilities such as pans, pots and knives! Would recommend :)

Central location in the town. Separate reception from Base. Big clean bungalows. Beautiful pool area with palm trees and hammocks. Friendly staff. Best nomads in Australia!

This hostel is only for people who want stay for a few days. Its a bit expensive, no free Wi-Fi. The beds are old but you have enough room inide. The kitchen is very small and there is not enough seats for every body, its better when you not go after 6pm for cooking. For dishes you must pay, but you get the money back. The statt was nah, not so friendly. Inside your room is a bath with toilett, its just so clean like the people who live there. I was 4 days in this hostel and never saw a cleaner.

Nice backpack. There is an internal course with pool and giant screen. There is even a small bar private to in the garden. A good backpack.

This hostel combines great atmosphere, big and clean rooms, a great location and a helpful staff ready to support you on exploring the city and everything else the area has to offer. I had an amazing time there staying in a 4 bed dorm. Parties every night but nothing too loud that would disturb my sleep, and my room was the nearest to the bar. I've been there more than once in different times of the year and it seems to be always packed with backpackers from all over the world, what makes everything even better for meeting people, you can even manage to meet some people traveling in campervans and get a ride to your next destination, as the hostel has a big campervan parking area. The cons of the hostel are not providing free Wi-Fi, to use internet you will need to pay $4 a day or $12 a week. But it's pretty much the same in every hostel I've been in Australia =/ And the rooms doesn't have lockers, which I also noticed in most of the hostel of Australia, but Nomads seem to be changing this in 2016. However, they do have a locker area, away from the rooms, where you can storage some of your stuff if needed. $5 dollars to have access to it. The truth is that I'm sure you will have heaps of fun at this place and meet an incredibly amount of people! Hope this was helpful! Safe trips, guys!

Nomads at Arlie beach has been a great experience for me. After staying at many hostels in Australie, I would say this is one of the better ones. Very clean and modern rooms, in the form of a bungalow and great bathrooms. Very pleased with my stay here and would definitely reccommend it to anyone!

We stayed in a 6 bed dorm during our stay at Nomads Airlie Beach. Rooms were spacious and clean. Clean kitchen. All amenities are available from the reception for a deposit. Nice atmosphere in and around the hostel with a pool, bar, big screen etc.

Location was great and camping site was reasonably priced considering this ($10 per person in 3 adult tent pitch). Their bar (beaches) was decent and aimed at backpackers. Also gave some vouchers for drinks/coffee etc. Nice pool area with hammocks to nurse hangovers. Main criticism comes from our experience of rechecking in, which involved lots of walking between 2 hostel receptions which were merging but not communicating with each other in the process.

I've had the best times here for the last 4 years! Perfect location, nice pool area, awesome bar and nice staff. There is however a but, only as of yesterday, I always go camping here with the car / tent, but now all of a sudden your car is not allowed at the general campground anymore : (They do however have other sites available but not just on the main central campground which I like and prefer most. Something about a merge with X-base and getting much stricter. So yeah, that was a bit sad, now I have to look for other places : ( I'd like my car with clothes, fridge, personal stuff, lights, battery etc nearby. Just like camping anywhere else, but I'm not moving to a concreted block away from this central awesome grassy area I like. Also the dongers with the showers / toilets are really old and barely functional (in like, not working, no mirror, no hooks, they are clean though but just old). So yeah, really nice place but unfortunatly not for me anymore I guess : ( Good luck on the merge and tightening up the rules.

This is also a camper van spot. Ideal for backpackers. Cheapest you will find in airlie beach and closest to the town centre. Average facilities. Beautiful pool. Poolside bar. Awesome for the 20somethings.

Nomads was a perfectly decent hostel. I stayed in an 8-bed dorm and it was very clean, the showers/bathroom were clean and spacious, and I liked the set up of the cabin-style rooms. However, the hostel is pretty big and doesn't allow BYO alcohol on the premise, which I think kills the vibe and the atmosphere of the hostel. We only stayed for 1 night before heading on a sailing trip through the Whitsundays, so for that it was useful and served its purpose.

Really do not have anything bad to say against Nomads in Airlie Beach. The staff were all very nice and helpful, the rooms were quite clean, and even though we were 8 in our rooms, it didn't really feel like too many. I would put some plugs closer to the upper bunks though, my charger cord wasn't long enough to reach and that was a little annoying. Great job overall though.

Stayed here during my weekend off. Great location and the staff is very nice. The only thing I would have changed is wishing I knew they were doing work on something and needed to turn off the water for a while. If it was posted I would have expected the water not to work. Where we only realized that it didn't after the toilet didn't flush and were then told to use the one in the lagoon across the street. Not a big deal since it's close. Otherwise great experience. I loved having the shared showers in the room. Awesome feature.

Great Rooms and Bathrooms, nice bar next to the pool. But guys, for backpackers the kitchen was really dirty. Everything else amazing.

Not bad for the price, but there were a ton of ants in our kitchen area and mold in the bathroom.

Had the best time here! everything was awesome the staff were so friendly and helpful and nothing was to hard! Keep up the good work.

Great hostel! Location is central to everything. The bar next door was great too. I can't wait to come back and start here again.

I went to Nomads Airlie Beach to see the Great Barrier Reef. They guy at Mad Travel booked me on the wrong day — the day that I had to leave. I did not go and see the Reef — I travelled from Vancouver, Canada via Sydney to see the Reef and did not get to see it due to their mistakes. I told the guy I thought I should get my money back and he then yelled at me! No part of it was my fault. I didn't get my money back until about three months and a few emails later. This was the worst trip of my entire life. I would never travel to any Nomads destination ever again.

Great facility, large and open with pool, grass, sand volleyball and clean dorm rooms.

Terrible service. Crapy showers, almost no water out of Showers. Thives are around (it's not the fault of the hostel but anyway). Small and bad smelling pool. Noisy bars until 4 o'clock in the morning.
