Even though it was a short stay, the room was extremely clean and very cozy! great customer service and extremely welcoming! Will certainly recommend to anyone 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻

Excellent accommodation would highly recommend.

Husband and I stayed a luxurious 5 nights in a Slab Hut in Oct 2021. The unit was well appointed and cute. Super comfortable bed and the room was already cooled before arrival with the efficient air-cond. Easy good walk into town and enjoyed a local taxi back. The pool is a nice relief after a day’s exploring. Enjoyed a glass or 2 from the great selection of quality wines and beers available at bottle shop prices. Across the road to the Qantas museum and the Stockman’s Hall of fame. 3 levels of accommodation available…. We loved the Slab Huts🛖

Cabin cooled for our arrival and clean and comfy. Reception was so helpful and pleasant. So far so good!

This review is not aimed at the new accommodation which is 5* & absolutely amazing! Make sure you book into these and not the older cabins.
We stayed in Cabin 21, on arrival
The floor was dirty from previous occupants, they were very put out that I asked for it to be cleaned as we were staying for 4 nights at $240 Per night, $960 for a very ordinary cabin. Obviously the floors were not mopped as well. In a cabin that sleeps 4 There were 2 worn out armchairs for 2 people to watch tv. Was very under equipped for the price. Make sure you know where you are staying before paying, obviously these older cabins need a serious renovation after 30 years. Very disappointed in accommodation & staff. Worst accommodation on our whole outback trip.
On a good note:The beds were very comfortable.

Great location, staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Well laid out, quiet and clean.

Never stayed there before, so was a lovely surprise, beautiful little cabins, very spacious inside. Fully equipped kitchen, thou fridge is on the small side. Bunks for the kids, queen in a separate room, very comfortable, thou it easily moves around. Has its own bathroom, very lovely, which you don't get with some cabins. The grounds are beautiful. Overall was a great place to stay and would stay again.

The bed is amazingly comfortable. Great attention to detail. The outside bathtubs superb.

The room is really nice as are the administration.

The retreat has several option of accommodation which is great the staff are very friendly and helpful. They are very knowledgeable as well. Location is great for all major attractions.

Very overpriced. Our cabin needs renovation, very tired inside and equipment needs updating. The floor not level very uncomfortable to walk in. Receptionist could be much more hospitable. Location is good.

We were very pleased with our accomodation in the Slab Huts. The attention to detail really made it a special place. We are locals, celebrating an anniversary, yet it felt very much like we were somewhere else. So relaxing and staff were sensational. Highly recommended.

Wow what a great 4 nights we had here… The Slab Hut we were in was excellent… The hut was lovely and clean, in a fantastic position, the staff were both helpful and friendly… Our hole stay here was Awesome… We will definitely be back…

The people at saltbush are amazing. So helpful and so friendly. They have gone out of their way to help us. The rooms are lovely. Such a great place to stay. Great pool area with massive under cover are too. Highly recommend!

My Husband and I are thoroughly enjoying currently our 3 night stay in the Stable Accommodation.
What amazing hospitality from Reception Staff… what amazing 5 star accommodation with even an
outdoor bath. A short walk to Stockmans Hall of Fame and Qantas Museum… add to the pluses of
our stay here flying in from Brisbane.

You will not be disappointed. Clean, friendly, helpful and very comfortable lodgings. The stables are incredible and value for money as in the city’s they would be twice the price. Don’t look anywhere else, but be sure to book as they are popular.

Neat little cabins, spotless and have everything you expect. Quiet, serene setting with lots of bushland and lots of eating options nearby. Lovely, lovely staff!

Love this place… unit very spacious, efficient. Tidy n clean n comfort bed. We were so blessed to have our unit just in walking distance to Qantas museum Long Reach. We would love to return here again.

We stayed 4 days in a beautiful, rustic but luxurious hut at Longreach. It was clean and comfy. Parking was very good considering we were towing a trailer. Staff were friendly and efficient. I left a treasured book behind and they went out of their way to send it to us. Although they don’t have a restaurant there is an excellent one at the motel next door. It is in a great position, being walking distance to the three main attractions at Longreach I can recommend the Saltbush Retreat to anyone wanting a bit of luxury in the bush.

Simply amazing place, stuff, town. I stayed only one night but was amazed with every detail they are paying attention to. I am posting this because they are deserving attention and they should be all the time fully booked. Price to Quality ratio is just amazing. I think they should put the prices up for the quality service they are giving. Thank You — it was a pleasure to stay with you.

Lovely property, slab huts really nice. Walkway into town is mostly shaded. Quirky outdoor tubs which are great for star gazing.

Stayed in a lodge and loved it. Was modern and clean, and location was convenient. Would stay there again for sure.

Slab huts are nice and comfortable, staff are friendly, don't let them put you near the "baths" noisy ignorant guests use them, stay there most of the night, area doesn't seem to be monitored well.

The Woolshed restaurant is EXCELLENT and having Jabirus wandering among the van sites was also a highlight. Love their calls.

We were given a quarter of a wettex to clean the kitchen with. The water heater was so small that a shower ran out of hot water after three minutes. No saucepan or kitchen knives, no lounge chairs. Cost was the same as most places in North West Queensland… About 130.

I rang to book tickets for The Big 3, in Longreach. Service was terrific, the young lady who took my call was very he lpful in sorting an itinery to suit our needs.

Highly recommend this boat trip. The family are passionate about sharing true bush history. And great fun too.

Wife and I stayed in lodges 11th till 15th July 2016. when we arrived we were met with a smile and a most helpful young lady who went through everything with us for our stay. Cabins self contained very clean and everything you would need very happy. Tours we did with Kinnons very well organised and coordinated Stage coach ride highly recommended, Paddle boat tour highly recommended, they also organised our tours of Qantas and Hall of Fame, all went with out a hitch. We will definatley be returning to do the other tours we did not have time for this time, We would recommend this experience to anybody wanting a fantastic time in Longreach. Get out there and support these hard working people they need all the help they can get, They are really struggling with the drought and through the support of us city people we can make a big difference and have a great time ourselves while supporting a great community. All at a very reasonable cost, we were very surprised at the cost of things in Longreach, In a lot of cases it was cheaper than we pay here on the coast, We cannot recommend it highly enough so get of your bums and go to Longreach for a time of your life. We are from Mackay Nth Qld and this was our first visit to Longreach but certainly won't be the last. J&R Poole.

A great little place, excellent atmosphere, great bungalows (kids can sleep in another room) Heaven compared with Hughendens' Royal Motel and almost the same price. Well worth the stay.
