It was amazing staying here whilst I was working 50 hours last week. Great to wind down before and after work, would have to go for a total relaxed experience though and come back.

Had a wonderful stay at sandcastles on the Broadwater for 10 days. The rooms were nice and spacious. Great location and great friendly staff. Very handy to everything. We will certainly b back and stay there again.

If you are looking for the worst place to stay this is it… More than disappointing! The DIRTIEST PLACE I have ever seen. Dirty walls, rusty toilet brushes, stained carpets and rugs, marks all over the walls, patios disgusting, curtains falling down… you name its really bad.
Even management are appalling. Really unprofessional all rounds the pits of the Gold Coast.

We have just returned from 7 nights at Sandcastles on the Broadwater. The front office girl was lovely and helpful and the pool and communal BBQ area were also great. However we did have issues with the room which we did give reception a list before we left. We stayed in a 2 bed 2 bath apartment on the second floor, great view across the road of the beach which was delightful to wake to. The noise from the road however is deafening, morning and night even with the door shut. The main bed was very uncomfortable and sagged in the middle and the bathroom really needs an update as the shower door and surrounds have mould, the toilet bowl was cracked and there is no ventilation in the bathroom making it suffocatingly hot with the door shut. Neither ceiling fan worked when we arrived although reception got straight on to it for us. The second bathroom also needs updating and the shower door didn’t close at all. Noise from the upstairs apartment drove us nuts and all he was doing was walking, definitely needs better sound proofing. There were no instructions for using convection oven and the main oven had no markings left on any of the dials or any light to know when it reached temp, also not the cleanest. The curtains in all rooms are old dirty and in some cases shredded. Vacuum cleaner was left full of dirt and the tea towels supplied smelt of fish.

We have stayed at sandcastles twice now and have loved it both times. The staff are lovely and our room has all that we need. Love the view of the Broadwater from our balcony. Will recommend to anyone.

Trish and Brendon were very helpful, lovely people. Great sized rooms with everything you need. Easy to get to Surfers and the Theme Parks. Will definitely return.

Thank you for having us! We had the most amazing time! The staff were wonderful! Helping us with booking and finding awesome things to do. The room was perfect! Clean and ready for a family with a washer, dryer, clothes airer and all the cooking things we could of needed. The pool was amazing and the location was perfect with a bus stop right outside and a lagoon across the road plus restaurants and a dairy nearby. We will defiantly be back!

Our family can't wait to come back for Xmas three years now, we absolutely love sandcastles the staff are amazing so lovely and friendly it's something we look forward to every year…

Had the most amazing 2 nights stay, room was fantastic. Beds for all 3 rooms were comfortable. It was clean tidy and was welcomed by lovely managers. Definitely will be coming back. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The balcony off the main bedroom was fantastic with a bar table/chairs and spas… fantastic to stay especially with 2 living areas… the family had some well needed space. Thank for having us we will be back.

This is the best place! The staff are very helpful friedly and yes 8 years ago we were here! Not far from theme parks! Playground across the road, there's a great pub down the road called the Grand bloody yummy! the pools amazing the staff are very helpful and kid friendly!

Sandcastles on the Broadwater the beautiful Broadwater is right on your doorstep enjoy the stunning views, go fishing, swim safely, feed the pelicans, lots of water sports activities to do.

Terrific location, our 3 bedroom apartment was perfect for group of 3 friends, spacious bedrooms, en suite, well equipped kitchen, living room and 2 balconies. Pool was warm and spa was warmer. We enjoyed the BBQ area for dinners & The Grand Hotel over the road was a great spot to watch sport and have a meal. Lovely spot to do walks along the Broadwater and close to hockey center and Harbour Town shopping close by. Thanks Sandcastles on the Broadwater. 10/10

Fave place to stay, close to everything — easy with kids of any age… cleaning could be improved… but hey! Cleaner than my place.

We booked the 3 bedroom apartment but did not stay as the room was totally unacceptable. It was very dirty and unkempt. Haven't yet received a refund for deposit paid. Room was nothing like pics in advertising. Would not recommend at all. No staff available to help. Disgusting.

Rooms and pool are nice. Price is decent. Wifi is not so impressive.

Just spent two nights at this resort. Had a two-bedroom apartment. We were on the first floor, luckily, as had to carry our heavy luggage up two flights of stairs — no elevators. We also had traffic noises all day and night (didn’t realise resort was right on the highway), which was tolerable when the doors were shut. The room was nothing like the photos on the website, which was extremely disappointing. The room was at the back corner of the resort, couldn’t see the pool at all. It was very run down and old, it needs repainting, better screen lockable doors for safety (especially being on the first floor), new curtains, etc — a bit of tlc to fix it up. The worst part were the beds. We had three beds, one double and two singles and every one of them was like sleeping on rocks. So terribly uncomfortable and after a couple of hours became unbearable. Luckily the shower was nice and hot and worked well, which I needed after sleeping on the bed, although the bathrooms needed a bit of work as well. Seriously need to address these issues for a four star rated hotel and have all the rooms up to the same standard as the photos on the website. After two torturous nights we barely slept and left early. I wouldn’t recommend this place based on our room.

We stayed here a few years ago & what a nice clean, modern place, so we decided to come & stay again. Still a nice place, but quite run down & really dirty. Cutlery old & needs replacing so do cups they are stained, the lids to the pots are broken, the extraction fan above the stove top doesn't work & is loaded with grease, really disgusting, disapointing to say the least.

We had a great time during our stay there. We stayed with a large group and the fantastic pool/poolside area was a great place to catch up, and the clean BBQ area, with 3 electric hotplates, meant we could cook for the large number. Beds and bathrooms were clean, although one of our underlays was well past it's use-by-date. The place was very secure, with good undercover parking. As others have said, the place was a little grubby, and could do with some TLC, but for the price, it's good value for money. Close to the broadwater, shops, and transport.

If I could give a minus score, I would. We arrived, apartment 122 was right next to a construction site and was absolutely filthy. Fly poop everywhere, dead insects in all the light fittings, the doors were all beat up, the sliding doors to the outside didn’t work, carpet was filthy and the bed felt like it was 20 years old. We packed our stuff and left, was disgusting. These guys still had the audacity to charge for the full whack, what can I say other than a con! Deluxe my ass. TripAdvisor next…

My nephew and wife and toddler stayed over christmas and I found it lacking in actual hospitality, the manager was somewhat snobbish and there wasn't even a coke machine or anything in reception. Other than that It's a very nice comfortable place I a great location, close to local shops and a 4 minute bus ride to cinemas, supermarkets and outlet shopping. Directly across the road is The Broadwater with a lagoon for safe swimming for the kiddies and if you wanted them to build their own sandcastles (pun intended). Or you can just hang around in the beautiful pool on the grounds. Restaurants and The Grand Hotel are also stones throw for drinks or dinner 7 days so all round a perfect spot for the family or romantic escape away from it all I give it stars.

I have stayed at Sandcastles 3 times and have enjoyed each stay. The accommodation is clean and comfortable, and extremely good value for money. The resort is very well located, across the road from the Broadwater, and close to a whole heap of restaurants, cafes, and the Grand Hotel. It can be quite noisy in the units close to the road, espcially on ground level, but its not a deal breaker. Staff were always very friendly, helpful and courteous. Keep up the good work.

Made a few friends at this hotel, I just loved waking up to something crawling on my face! What more can I say.

Easy check in/out. Lovely reception staff. Yes, the rooms could do with a coat of paint and a bit of a freshen up but they were clean and certainly big enough for us. Well equipped, 2 TV's, full kitchen (although no bottle opener-not an issue; just drank wine instead), air con lounge and main bed, fans in other two rooms. The pool was beautiful and well maintained. Would definitely recommend staying here with a family.

If it were possible to give them a 0 star rating I would. Absolutely dispicable service. I am beyond shocked with the way I was just treated over the phone. We bought a Groupon voucher for a 1 bedroom apartment and than had to book that one bedroom apartment through the sandcastles website which we did for a one bedroom apartment. I recieved a confirmation email that has my arrival time and departing time so as you would assume we saw that and thought we were all booked and ready to do. They than sent me another email that had at the bottom in very fine font that for the two nights we booked for weren't available. If it weren't available it should not have been available to purchase through Groupon and to be booked through the personal website of the sandcastles resort with two emails saying confirmed and Groupon voucher reedeemed. We tried to rebook for another date and was told that it was our fault and that we had apparently "frauded our tickets and will be black listed" she than said "it's not our problem love have a lovely day and hung up on me. Im actually quite distraught about this and feel its completely unacceptable that they took our $300 and will not allow us to rebook for another two nights.

Sandcastles is amazing! Beautiful apartments, facilities and staff. It is a little slice of paradise hidden away amongst the concrete jungle. I would highly recommend this place. This will be our go to place when we visit the Goldcoast.

Locally place to stay and the ladies at reception are so friendly and helpful. On our first night we noticed the beds were really hard so we didn't get much sleep. We let the girls know in the morning. They kindly went and bought mattress Toppers for us all. Great quiet place.

What can I say? Do NOT look at the photo's to make your decision. Old, Dated and anything but a four start establishment. Didn't even unpack, but couldn't cancel immediately as no one answered the phone. Couldn't get out quick enough albeit over $400 lighter in the pocket and stay elsewhere which ultimately saved our trip from being a disaster.

My family had a wonderful 5 day stay in our three bedroom apartment. Huge bedrooms, two bathrooms. Balcony off living area offered fantastic views but second roof top balcony with spa off master bedroom was my favourite place. Overlooked pool, spa and bbq area which was fantastic. Reception staff friendly and helpful. Only negative thing was upon entering room (& if we went out and left doors/windows closed) a musty mouldy smell could be noticed. I purchased a dishwasher cleaner and deodoriser which fixed the problem. If visiting on holiday I would recommend a hire car. Secure underground car park is available. I found the short distance to Surfers and Broadbeach where I had to travel daily for my daughter's dance competition was hugely affected by traffic conditions, in peak hour it took almost an hour, a shock for a South Australian! Thanks so much, we will definately return and recommend.

The rooms and service of this place are very good and I would recommend a room on the third floor so you can get the great view from the balcony.

The rooms, furniture and balconies are filthy and need a good clean there was mouldy food under the furniture. The main rooms block out curtains had a horrible odour which made the second level unusable. There were ants in all in the beds. We all left with bites all over us. The wireless does not work. The stairwells were never clean a stale chip sat there for 4 days. The only good thing is the location but I strongly advise against this appartment especially with kids I have never stayed somewhere so dirty and unhygienic. To top it all off no ones responds to emails or contact about the state and horrible stay we had.

Sandcastles is a great place for couples and families. The rooms are in good condition, except for a couple of little things. Eg, lamp shades split apart at the seams and underpants left in the dryer from a previous guest. But apart from that everything else is great!

Good location, good price, good room!

I stayed for three nights on a busy business trip and enjoyed how quiet it was. Walking up three flights of stairs with baggage is not for the faint hearted but location right across the street from the water made it bearable.

Just OK very outdated furniture, dirty carpet, dull lighting, exhaust fans not working, only one very small TV in a 2 bedroom apartment, sorry not recommended.

Very clean great hosts will come back.

The dishes and kitchenwares are filthy. The rooms are dim, dusty and hot (especially summer time), as there is only air conditioner in the living room (not in the bedrooms). Overall, it is just okay.
