Beautiful location with so much to do. Very helpful staff. Very comfortable rooms.

Our stay at cooinda lodge was not what I thought it would be. To check in took a awful long time, and the staff seemed overwhelmed, however friendly. For $400 a night the rooms are tiny, no options for two bedroom no cabins if you would like a kitchen and more space. The food was over priced and not that nice. For breakfast everything is boiled, bacon is boiled which is horrible and sausages appear to be cooked in oven. For dinner we waited so long then went to the counter to find out they didnt put our order through, then they came out with wrong meal and no kids meal instead a large chicken breast covered in pepper gravey which I knew my daughter would not eat, and our pork ribs were extremely dry. The morning staff were friendly and cheerful which was nice and the pool was nice. However bathrooms were dirty with a bad odor. We enjoyed every about kakadu its a magicsl place however, I wont stay here again not for how much we spent.

Awesome place to stay. Beautiful natural surrounds, very peaceful and relaxing. Went for 2 days stayed for 6 weeks! ('one more night please! '). Stayed in the campgrounds which are very well maintained and also stayed in the Lodge rooms which are very cosy. Good meals at restaurant and morning Iced Lattes are the go! The billabong cruise is magic, very unique. Thanks to all the lovely staff who were very helpful, friendly and funny!

Great Camping! Easy access to all the best spots.

I love the decor in the glamping tent, the share platter was delicious with flavours such as paw paw salad, Barra ceviche, local chutney, salt and pepper squid, olives and crunchy spinach chips. It was lovely waking up to fresh air and nature while still having the ammenities of a bathroom, shared kitchen, shower and restaurant. I used my territory voucher which has allowed me to explore more of my backyard at a reasonable price. The rooms and cabins are decently priced anyway and I recommend this awesome experience as well as exploring Kakadu and yellow water cruise!

A great place to base yourself for exploring Beautiful Kakadu.
The Yellow Waters cruise is a must.
Fabulous new menu — I recommend the share platter — Crocodile, Barramundi, Kangaroo and Buffalo and tasty pickles and paw paw salad — yummy!
Wonderful breakfasts to set you up for a days exploring — two swimming pools to rest your weary bones after climbing Ubirr Rock and to cool off from the days heat.
Happy hour at the bar and lovely helpful staff.
Rooms are comfortable and clean — and great little seating area to watch the afternoon storms roll in.

Beaut spot! amenities are spotless. Free washer & dryer. Everything you need + pool is huge and ever so clean. We stayed in safari tents two nights & honestly the beds were so comfy & fluffy pillows. Meals very expensive but to be expected in middle of no where. Cruise in evening was amazing! highly recommend staying here! Thank you.

The sunrise billabong cruise was amazing for crocs sittings and bird watching, breakfast buffet was tasty the room was very clean and tidy, pool was refreshing, dinner was good the staff were very friendly and helpful, made some new friends, can’t wait to do it all again! Cheers.

We did not stay as the Lodge was fully booked. However, we did the morning wetlands cruise which is an absolute must whether you are staying or just visiting. Our guide "Mills'y" was extremely knowledgable and courteous.
We highly recommend the wetlands cruises and the venue as it appears to cater full all tastes and is very family friendly.

It is s delightful resort in the middle of several park attractions.

We stayed here in March 20 and had the best time. Great location, fabulous food and wonderful visits to river and park by inspiring guides.

The Restaurant is second to none. Large servings and food to a very high standard. The chef was second to none and really made our son feel like a king. Will definitely be back.

Beautiful place to stay! The website doesn’t do it justice. Amazing food, friendly and helpful staff. We had a wonderful stay, the pools were clean and the whole site was well maintained. All the way from the UK and we had the most wonderful stay.

Great place for a ew days, there is plenty to do within 20 minutes of the resort. The facilities are good but they lack a lot of cleaning, despite 2 reports to management some facilities were not cleaned within 48 hours. Some toilets were blocked and were very very messy (that’s the nicest way to put it), there was hair and undies etc hanging of the showers for a couple of days. It’s a shame as it has everything there to make it great apart from some cleaning and lack of management skills.

Highly recommend. Fantastic place for the family to just chill out after exploring Kakadu. Yellow Water cruise highly recommended, guide very knowledgeable and friendly. Restaurant staff friendly and food is delicious and the pool is fun for hours on end. Fantastic place won't hesitate to return ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Great Lodge if you don't mind the roaches. Food option is great. Location is perfect. Pool is great for kids too. No hot tub though.

Facilities of the lodge were very good, and loved the beautiful pool! Open entertaining area is a great spot. We were in a powered caravan site and were only dissapointed at being squeezed into the tight spots when there is so much room around the grounds.

Camped on an unpowered site on the edge of the resort. A very pleasant place to stay after a few days of bush camping. Good showers etc. Two pools and outdoor bar and cafe. Also fish and chip van with modest prices.

A well situated camp ground, caravan park and motel type rooms to rent. The staff are tremendous, easy going and efficient. The pools are great and the amenities are really excellent. As the only place in the area, it excels and is a great base if your here to explore Kakadu!

Sadly all over Kakadu there is a dearth of spots where through travellers can buy light refreshments or even a coffee. Stopped at the lodge to find it was too hard to crank up machine and only snacks were at the small outlet in the foyer. The service person was less than interested and when we insisted was less than pleasant. Know her name but will remain anonymous. The environment at Kakadu Lodge was beautiful and serene.

Cooinda Lodge also operates the campground that’s where I stayed. It’s a large park with plenty of shade and you can use the resorts pool. This is the best place to stay if you’re going on the Yellow Water cruises. If you go on the sunrise tour a delicious buffet breakfast at the resort is included. This is a stunning location with amazing scenery and wildlife. The only downside the camp kitchen is really old and small, it only has a fridge and no freezer, there’s not enough room in the fridge for the whole campground, most campers rely on ice bricks to keep their food fresh in their own esky, it’s just a small thing but it’s also the reason I didn’t stay longer. There’s a small store with essential items and souvenirs. Tours can be booked at the lodge and the staff are friendly and helpful. The Aboriginal Art centre is also well worth visiting.

What a fantastic place, great pools, great food, excellent river cruises would definitely recommend this place staff helpful and friendly and if you get Dennis on your cruise you are in for a treat he is amazing!

Comfortable, good showers and laundry. Camp kitchen very ordinary, no utensils and burners not working well.

Excellent place to stay overnight with spacious sites and stable power. Very clean amenities. Bar could be improved with opening times.

Clean, stylish and cool rooms and super plush beds a d pillows. Showers had great pressure and extremely fast and hot water. Dinner at the restaurant was reasonable, staff were all very friendly and accommodating!

Good place to stay and eat and go on the spectacular yellow water cruises on the South Alligator river of Kakadu.

Cockroaches and the rooms are very dark. The food in the restaurant is very good. Very nice to make a boat trip from the resort.

Pretty much the only place you can stay in this area. No internet at all (not even paid) which is very inconvenient for travellers. Blankets were really smelly.

Nice pool, good coffee and here you can also buy tickets for the Kakadu National Park. There is also a petrol station, as well as a shop with drinks and the most essential things you can need when travelling. There are also boat trips to the Yellow River and other things to do.

Nice pool. Huge hamburger — the biggest I have ever seen and a bucket of chips. Not your regular paper bucket — a huge metal bucket is chips. My kids shared one & struggled to get through it.

Our friends and we stayed in two different rooms. The cheaper one had old bath and room and beds were not That pleasant. But our room which was a bit more expensive had renovated bath and almost new bed and furniture I am rating the Hotel 4 but my friend would probably rate it 3 stars.

Beautiful resort in the heart of Kakadu National Park. Various rooms available including the Flash Camp that will allow you to stay overnight in an alternative but comfortable. Great services. Ideal starting point for a sunrise-recommended Yellow Waters cruise, including buffet breakfast, or sunset.

Very friendly, helpful staff. Rooms need some TLC but otherwise functional. Moderately overpriced for quality of accommodation. Dinners and bar good and reasonablely priced considering remote location. Breakfast buffet is good. Yellow River tour guides very good and really add to the cruise enjoyment.

We stayed in basic accommodation as part of a tour group but this place looks pretty good. Decent pool. Coffees were OK. Anybody making a trip to Kakadu would be satisfied with this place.

Nice place overall. Large room. Bathroom doesn't have exhaust fan, which has lead to a mould build up in the bathrooms. Bring food to self cater, as the restaurant food isn't great and the restaurant staff aren't friendly. Reception and cleaning staff are lovely.

We were in a powered site for four nights. Cooinda was central to the things we wanted to do and we were very happy with it. Powered sited can be a little difficult to work out location. It's a matter of finding your number on a power box and working out how much space you have. We found the amenities always clean but could be a little difficult to get into. We managed but had to help several others with the code system. Food at the Bistro was good. Highly recommend the Kakadu Tasting Plate! We comfortably shared between 3 adults. And you are crazy if you go and miss the Yellow Water Breakfast Cruise. Two hour cruise with a full buffet breakfast afterwards! We (3 adults + 9 & 10 year old girls) absolutely loved it!

Fantastic spot and lovely cabin. However the bed was rock hard and the fridge had a very strong smell of fish.

It was a bit of a shock. Bit unorganised… Room cleaning was hap hazard. We were left with no towels. I felt sorry for the kitchen staff. For an international lodge I see no reason for queuing for food. Very pub like : (

Reception friendly & helpful with tours. Coffee not available after 5pm (when made by the staff). I can't comment on rooms as I stayed in the flash camping section.

We loved our stay and the Yellow Water cruise. The resort is lovely and the staff friendly and helpful. On the down side, we were in the caravan section. The bathrooms, although new and modern, were filthy. Not that they aren't cleaned every day, but it is the only park I have come across in a year of travelling that doesn't leave a mop and bucket in the bathroom for people to wipe out the floor when they have finished showering. As a consequence, it is wall to wall mud and just awful. Also, the shower block had four showers, and every one had a broken cold water tap that would fall off when your turned it. All four? That is just poor maintenance. I know its a first world problem, but for such a lovely resort to be let down by something so easily fixed is such a shame.

Wetlands tour was terrific but Spirit of Kakdu 4x4 tour was a bit disappointing due to very limited number of places where the road was open. Room was fine but expensive. Staff friendly. Restaurant average.

A large caravan park offering a range of accommodation including powered and unpowered camp sites. There are a number of toilet blocks available however one of these was under renovation in April 2016. The restaurant and bar open late and there are two fantastic sized salt water swimming pools. Currently priced at $41/n for a powered site. The yellow water tours depart from here and there is petrol and data/coverage with telstra.

I found the staff to be top notch, great facilities even for an older lodge. Tours where also great. I wouldn't recommend the fishing tour. There is no way that area has fish in it for every one.

Really expensive, but it makes sence. I am glad that it is owned by the aboriginal. Perfect tours, great service and awesome locations nearby.

“Great location and relaxing atmosphere. ” The lodge is in a great location with access to all major tourist attractions just down the road. One day we may be back, but not for a while. My wife and I had a very relaxing stay and enjoyed sitting in the bistro, drinking beer and watching the storm belt down around us. The main meal and pizza was great but the desert should be skipped. You should also be selective when going through the breakfast buffet. It looked and tasted like it had been prepared and kept warm for the past 3 days. I would suggest you stick with toast and jams as the milk for the cereal tasted as though it was long life. I saw that espresso coffee was made with fresh milk but isn't included in the buffet. The room was basic and clean — that's about it. Although we enjoyed watching the storm, getting to the bistro at the start of it was a challenge. The paths couldn't cope with the rain in the first 5 minutes, let alone 1 hour. We could just about swim to the bistro with the water on the paths ranging from 0cm to 5cm. Stayed January 2013, travelled as a couple.

Stayed in the camp ground in a powered site. Was ok Not much to do at night. The river cruise was good. Good shop and fuel station there. Bar and restraunt. Good base to explore the park.

The 'Outback Rooms' turned out to be walled off areas in a transportable building, rather like part of a shipping container. Our double room, in July 2010, was clean and the air-con worked, but the light fitting was broken and there was a hole in the wall lining. Our friends, in a 3-bunk Outback Room, found it more cramped than any other backpacker rooms they had experienced. One, an architect, thought it may have violated building codes for air-space per person. The shared kitchen had no water — you had to use a garden tap — which discouraged guests from cleaning up. The powered van sites looked crowded. In future I would stay somewhere else and drive to Cooinda for the Yellow Waters cruise or as a last resort chose the unpowered Gagadju camp sites which are less crowded.
