The rooms are damaged, we found left over food in the cupboard, the fridge leaked on the floor and is noisy, mould on the wall and window frame in the ensuite, damaged screen in the main bedroom so we can’t leave the sliding door open… need any more?

Not 4.5 star at all. Our room is old and impossible to have a shower without flooding the entire bathroom. Way overpriced and we are disappointed with our choice.

Furniture is pretty old warped and chipped. No room service or restaurant no mini bar with snacks. For the $400 we paid I don't think its value for money. The 2 bedroom are of fair size bathrooms are spacious kitchenette is ok and functional.

My family and I have stayed at the Mantra quiet a few times due to an illness in our family not COVID19 the service we received was outstanding the staff were exceptional understanding with our hole family nothing was an issue very professional and all very friendly all the rooms were big very clean my hat goes off to management who has employed all staff from front desk to cleaning and maintenance prices were also within our reach would highly recommend 10 out 10 and we are all very appreciative for the kindness we were shown.

I booked a two bedroom apartment for Saturday 17th Aug. We arrived to find the door to the main bathroom/toilet had come off the bottom hinge and was hanging there so we could not close the door properly as it would fall. We let reception know on our way out that evening, we were not offered a solution, and alternative or anything. Just an “oh ok we are sorry about that. ” To say that cooked breakfast was disappointing would be an understatement. I have no problem paying for good food but that was not worth the money to be spent. What made our stay much worse is that I had left brand new beauty products in the room. I am certain I had them there as they were purchased on the way to Wollongong. I also only took one bag with me so they have not been misplaced anywhere. I called reception this morning at 7:30am to ask her for them, who told me house keeping did not start until 9am but that she would ask them then and call me back. At 11:26am I called a second time as I’d heard nothing back to be told that she was going to call the lady that cleaned the room right away and let me know. At 2:50pm I had to call this place A THIRD TIME after no follow up again. This was a different lady who had no idea who I was or what I was calling for so there must have been no notes left. This lady did however call me back 5minutes later to tell me nothing was left in the room.

Will never stay here again was terrible, got kicked out at 3am in the morning weren’t able to drive as we were drinking and they just kicked us to the street because a group of people lit fireworks accross the road in a car park and for some reason they thought we lit them in the room.

Honestly. Horrible myself and 5 friends booked and payed for a room after New Year’s Eve got kicked out for being accused of something that wasn’t even us
Considering most of us were in bed asleep and we had be warned once about noise so made sure too keep it down Disgusted and will make sure this is showed all over Facebook … Thank you too the over night reception lady that didn’t have anything to show it was, besides having one complaint which was handled Your a cow HAPPY NEW YEAR.

Excellent accommodation parking available close to hospital or shops.

The hotel is so expensive for the poor quality of service and amenities. 1. We arrive at 4 pm (check-in is at 2 PM) and the room was not ready we have to wait 30 minutes. 2. Then we ask for late check out (1 hr), they say no and if we were late they will charge us 20 dollars more, so they can be late 2.30 hrs but we just need to deal with the issue? 3. I asked for the internet password. What a surprise no free internet I have to pay another 10 dollars to have 24 hrs internet… we have been in many hotels and never got charge for this. 4. In my floor lobby when we arrive was a black rubbish bag next to the lift, the day we leave the bag was still there. 5. Furniture old and dirty. This is not a 4 starts hotel, they charge like 4 starts but the service is 2 starts or less. I understand business need profit but the best way to create profit is to create a loyalty customer, and guess what? We won’t come back there ever.

Room was spacious with a big balcony and staff friendly although the up keep wasn't at a high standard. There was stains on the sheets and pillows, no soap in the bathroom, TV remote not didnt work and the bedding configuration was wrong. Plus the lifts were old and clunky and took a long time to come.

Staff were helpful however our room got broken into while we were sleeping in it! All of our handbags were stolen. Apparently its a frequent for ice addicts and this isnt an isolated incident. I had to wait in the hotel lobby for police to search our neighbors rooms because they were convicted criminals who pay with cash only and never show there id at reception. There are no cameras in any of the hotels corridors which is obviously why drug dealers and criminals frequently use the hotel for accommodation. The facilities however were lovely and the staff helped us contact the police and returned our accommodation money.

Mantra Wollongong is hands down the best hotel I've been to when in Wollongong. I go to multiple different mantra locations but will always go back 5/5

Filthy. Layers of dust on every surface, even the filthy walls. Old tissues and snacks under furniture and dirty dishes. Who actually cleans these rooms? Carpets not secured to floor and trip hazards. And they charged $460 for one night… Never again.

Friendly and responsive service, convenient, clean, comfortable, small but good fitness centre. Breakfast buffet merely ok but not essential to our stay. Slightly industrial location but close to city centre. Overall we were quite happy with our stay here. We would definitely consider staying here again.

A lively place to spend the weekend the apartment wad very spacious and comfortable. The staff did everything they could to help such as bring up batteries for the dead TV remote. Will stay there again.

One Word,,, Disgusting Ants all over the kitchen units and worktops The sofas and chairs were very heavily stained … you wouldn’t want to sit down. No rooms available to move too but reception did offer Ant RAID.

Booked a comfortable and spacious two bedder room. Very happy with the service and the rooms provided.

Stayed three times for business trip. Really Poor reception service and customer support. Simply No Care At All. *Noisy due to the under construction nearby. Eating at the hotel was great and this hotel has spacious rooms compare to other hotels in Wollongong.

Reception staffs are horrible. Unhelpful, not kind, the room service does not even include a toothbrush.

Eating at the hotel was great. The staff are absolutly amazing and nothing is to much to ask for. Highly recommend.

Excellent facilities re-decorated but the cleaners need to be fired, everything is sticky and dirty, bathrooms smell disgusting, rubbish bins sticky and smelly, couch in living very dirty too.

It was ok. The elevator moves at the rate of continental drift so expect to wait several minutes or take the stairs. The room was clean and tidy and very spacious, bed was pretty comfortable. There is a tiny gym too, treadmill, step machine, bike and cable machine. Not sure if it's worth $200 a night with no view but it's definitely a decent room.

Avoid this place! Stayed here for 2 nights with family. The sofa bed was absolutely saturated and unusable. When we asked reception they knew about it but refused to do anything. The TV in the lounge room was broken. Again no fix. And it gets worse. Tried to get my car out but we had partially been blocked in by staff. After a 30 point turn the staff member appeared and simply. Smiled and waived. The location is opposite the train station and is a very bad part of Wollongong. I have never had such a bad experience at a hotel. No care at all…

Good size rooms, comfortable bed and every applicence you would need. Friendly staff.

I think this place is under rated. Staff are friendly. Room is clean and very well maintained. Great location, five minutes from Wollongong center.

Apartments are looking tired. Pillows are too big and hard. Not sure if they were vacuumed. Bed was comfortable. Convenient to train.

We were able to get a great deal on the 2 Bedroom Deluxe Ocean View Apartment with a balcony. Staff at check-in were very helpful and friendly and we parked in the guest underground car park. The apartment was large and fairly clean. The kitchen and dining area was adequate, the lounge chairs were quite old but comfortable and the main TV was a nice big one. Thankfully our air conditioner also worked. The two bathrooms were clean also and had a nice assortment of the usual hotel mini soaps and shampoos. The bedrooms were clean and very spacious, one having another TV, and both had doors that opened up onto the balcony. The balcony was quite small but gave a nice view of the city, train station and the ocean in the distance (it is quite far but you can spot it). There was a table and some chairs out on the balcony as well. Some people may find the trains at the station below coming and going loud but I enjoyed watching them. At night, since you are in the middle of the city, it can get quite loud out on the streets with people talking and cars zooming around. Overall though it was a pleasant stay and i’d go back again.

Have to pay for Wi-Fi, ethernet is free, bring your wireless travel router. About 5/5Mbps. Apartments are large and comfortable but cleanliness of furniture and cutlery could be improved. Overall it's good.

We stayed at the Mantra Wollongong recently. We will never stay there again.
The 'superior' room we stayed in was disgusting! Not cleaned, carpet was filthy, furniture falling apart, and then to find a condom wrapper under my daughters bed was the last straw! We checked out a day early, and we will never go back! I will also be making sure everyone else knows not to stay there! We travelled 5 hours to have a nice family weekend away, and it wasn't worth it. For my ocean views I looked at a train station.

Caught the train from Sydney through to Wollongong Station. The Mantra is ideally located within a short walk from the train station so didn't require a taxi. Upon arrival was upgraded to a two bedroom suite. The place was quiet and clean. Would highly recommend.

Stayed 29th' April nice room' views' but a bit pricey for only two people only' the location compared to water front accommodation. I thought this was on the water'. Great location for shoppers and diners. Im a lazy beach ocean goer so this location is not for me' breakfast was ordinary but okay. Understaffed only one gorgeous lady doing it all cooking cleaning ' she couldn't keep with the plates' she was run off her feet. Nice staff.

The hotel was very nice and spacious however our hotel was never serviced. Although I had spoken to the cleaner and staff serveral times and they had confirmed that it will be done, they still failed to clean our room properly and remove old towels. Further to this, our items were thrown out for no particlar reason. I have requested the hotel staff on a few occasions to chase this up, however they have not responded. The hotel service was poor.

Not sure if some apartments here are more modern than others but mine was lovely. Large, clean and everything was very comfortable. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms, kitchen, domestic appliances and comfy beds. Great that parking is free undercover, but not so great having to pay $10 for internet in this day and age and the minibar items are really expensive so stock up before you arrive is my tip. There is breakfast available in the restaurant. Valeria working at reception was really professional and friendly to deal with. Location is right opposite the railway station. I'd definitely stay here again and recommend it.

Great little hotel, I've stayed here a few times for work. The rooms are spacious and the staff are really nice. Location is great too — five minutes from Crown St Mall, and right across the road from the train station or taxi rank.

Will not recommend this place to anyone. Our room wasn't ready when we arrived just after 2pm had to wait till just after 3pm before we go in, once in the room the carpet was filthy the table had food on it, the lounges had food hand prints and that's not even the half of it. Will never go back there again.

I came here last time under best westerns and loved it. This is the second time I have come and very disappointed. The floors are very sticky, the table and bench tops very sticky. The carpet needs to be replaced full of stains and sticky. There was an off smell coming from the room we don't know where from. The bed was nice and comfy however the bed side tables are sticky, the lamp shade is full of mould and stains. We opened the blinds and a full of dust came crom the blinds looked like tgey were never cleaned or washed. Paid $355 for one night and was very disappointed. We were charged a bond fee of $1. Which we don't understand for when the bond is having the details and our credit cards to take for the bond as stated in there terms and conditions.
Pretty disappointed won't be coming back.

Rooms were great, breakfast was ok.

When we were their we didn't enjoy anything, it costs too much for 3 Nights, it didn't have any good facilities for the kids, everything costed money even the Wi-Fi, and the view was terrible. The staff were nice but they don't clean the rooms properly.

Three times that ive stayed were very nice, no problems and managed to get the same room. Loved the views and the staff were also nice.

Very tired apartment 504. Kitchen tap not working, cuts to bench top, no pressure to shower (came out of bath tap at the same time), no iPod connectivity in room, noisy A/C, stains to dining suite — positive, comfortable bed and large balcony. That's it. Located on a main road, very noisy & opposite a train station. Wouldn't recommend to anyone.

Beware Customers! we booked a room with a view high up and paid the extra money, however we got a room on the second floor overlooking other peoples backyards this is very disappointing for us we complained about this however all they could say is that they are sorry and would not refund some of the money, not to mention that the shower rose was not working I had to have one hand holding it while having a shower, the furniture is 1950's and I am not bullshitting about this, it is the honest truth so beware what you do when booking at the MANTRA this is not a 3 star it is a 1 star if that, so beware once again! there was also a deposit of $50 for the room however that gets refunded when you leave, however 2 weeks later I am still calling them about the refund they assure me it only takes 4-5 days its now 2 weeks again BEWARE CUSTOMERS.

Amazing rooms. Felt very clean and very well kept. The room we stayed in was complete with a kitchen and laundry. Conveniently located near the Wollongong train station.
