A lovely quiet motel… comfy beds… great showers… clean… comparable to a 5star motel facilities and services. Microwave came in handy… little extra things you would need while travelling and good old fashion friendliness that is missing these days… Thank you.

An older motel but owners have done a fantastic job of updating the rooms. Clean, comfortable and generously equipped including toiletries, microwave, plates, cutlery etc. Just very good value. Credit to Golden Chain and owners.

Great no fuss motel. Updated decor, clean, quiet, warm and comfortable bed at a reasonable price. Definitely stay again on our next visit to Yass.

Staff (and Suzie! ) were great, very friendly. Both the exterior and rooms were clean and very well-maintained (we were in a completely updated room). The bed was comfortable with a choice of pillows which was a nice touch. The newly renovated bathrooms were great — clean, good water pressure with plenty of hot water and plenty of towels. The only let down was the toilet didn't have enough oomph to flush the paper. As for being on a main road into town. You wouldn't have known! The rooms are quite and very dark with the blinds closed. We'll definitely be back.

We had not booked ahead, the room we were given was spacious and clean and the bonus was that the towels were large soft and fluffy. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. I would have no hesitation in recommending the Colonial as a good place to stay. When we are in Yass again we will stay here. Thank You ☺

I've stayed in 5 and 6 star hotels that were nowhere near as good as this place. You know that old saying that some companies just love to put in their advertising … "We aim to exceed our customers' expectations", and then they not only don't exceed them, they don't even come close to meeting them?! Well Colonial Lodge Motor Inn doesn't use that annoying slogan, but they could and they'd be one of the few places to actually deliver on it. OK, let me list what's good about this place. Easy to find (reception/office open 'til much later in the evening than I'd have expected), a welcome and service that's so heartfelt and genuine you haven't experienced one like it since your mother greeted you at the door after your 6 month OS wanderings. Clean, I mean pristine, I mean immaculate. Towels and bathmats that are so thick you gain an inch in height when you stand on them. Bed linen and the thought that went into it like I've never seen before (Grand Hyatts, take note). A bed that is the perfect balance between firm/supportive and 'sink into it' … you just lie there and can't really feel the bed … now that's the sign of a good bed. Air conditioning that works … powerful and almost totally silent. A mini bar with prices that are actually reasonable … first time I've ever seen that. Instant coffee sachets (free of course) that are an expensive brand and top quality. This place cuts no corners. Gallons of UHT milk in the fridge. Want fresh milk?
