Reviews of Crossroads Hotel 3*

Crossroads hotel is worst place to work. I have never work like crossroads hotel in my life. Its a bullying place. No respect for staff very rude discrimination racist. Especially for the new staff they treat very rude swearing after every moments. Two chefs don’t have manner to respect the staff. He is like from Middle East. Other one is young guy. I know its a busy place but that’s not the way to treat your staff. He is the worst people ever not a human and other chef is same racist for us. Even the management team is worst. No Human resource. Nobody help. This is Australia. You need to respect all the people and culture. Its a multicultural country. Hope the management look after this issue. Otherwise I will go through fairwork publish on social media & channel news. I think this hotel had already a bad reputation from the media about covid.

Called to cancel by booking and Dellis answered. I mentioned I wanted to cancel by booking, she then said what's the problem and I proceeded to say we had a change of plans. Every questions was very abrupt and then when she had what she needed she hung up on me…
Pretty taken back with how rude she was as I shouldn't be made to feel bad that I am cancelling a booking.
Called at 12:30pm today (22.12.20)
Safe to say I am pleased we are not going their now.

Claire P.

They serve a superb variety of foods and the staffs are friendly. I felt safe from the fear of catching the virus coz social distancing are observed to the T, plus we were ushered to their VIP roomwhere we enjoyed a tranquility ambiance of our own. The bottom line is no far venue for the good purpose of enjoying good food anc safe place.

Odorio G.

Great food and large portions. staff friendly and welcoming very clean (even pre Covid) great local place to meet up with friends and family.

Kim U.

We ate at the bistro the service was very quick
I had the seafood basket and the passion fruit brûlée soo yummy no complaints
My only whinge Half a glass of riesling for $8.50 a bit steep.

Adam P.

Terrible food. Not following social distancing. Got back from ordering dinner, was standing back at my table for no longer than a min and had staff rudely rush over to me yelling at me to sit down. Disgusted and will not return.

John K.

Just stopped in never been before, awesome place, we wanted lunch, huge menu, quick service and definately a repeat visit.

Rachel R.

We had our twin sons Christening at The hotel yesterday. The food, staff and service were amazing! Thank you for being so accommodating and helpful. We will be back for another function.

Kerrie M.

Decor looks amazing! So many areas to chose from.
Enjoyed huge delicious meals, friendly helpful staff & accomodation for our interstate guest, we will be back soon!

Jayde H.

All meals came out cold, far from freshly cooked. A variation was asked to be made to one of the meals due to dietary requirements and the answer was "no we are too busy"
10/10 would not reccomend to anyone for dinner. Very disappointed.

Lina B.

Two out of the five meals ordered were wrong & there was absolutely no customer service from the Resturant staff, very rude. Food was below average!

Jo M.

Food was lovely and at a good price. The staff were friendly and helpful. Will come back again.

Tony S. D.

A nice place for dining and great food. The staff are most helpful.

Julie E.

Absolutely wonderful food, massive serves, lovely staff definately go again and highly recommend.

Murat N.

A bustling busy venue that can hold over 1000 people, producing great quality moorish dishes featuring a classic pub menu using refined modern Australian finesse. Highly recommended for large numbers and families of any age group.

Lils S.

The food is expensive for the area. The bistro is nice and clean though. The food is just ok. Had the fish and chips. The portion is big but the taste is disappointing. Ordered mushroom sauce and it was runny and tasted terrible, wattery and burnt. The seafood basket is plentiful but again the taste isn't great. Maybe they're too busy to have good quality food.

Myles L.

Good quality local pub. Week nights are quiet. Ok to bring the kids for a meal. Food is good quality pub food at good prices. Special every night is good value.

Jess H.

Recently renovated, nice place with a decent pub menu. Gets crowded at times and service drops, prices can be a little expensive for some menu items but the lunch specials are decent. Would have been 5 stars if they didn't charge a card surcharge!

Hannah T

Had a group gathering here, booked a few tables in advance. Process was easy. Good variety of meals at the bistro, large portions and reasonable prices. No table service, order meals at the counter and drinks at the bar. You get a buzzer to come and collect your meal. Bistro area kept very clean, looks recently renovated. However the bistro dining area is very dark, better lighting would improve the dining experience, especially when catching up with a large group.

Food was awesome. Generous portions and great taste. Staff were friendly as well. Will definitely go again.

David P.

Nice after the renovations. Food the same as always; good taste, good portion. Ambience is nice. Feels like a nice hearty food hall. Caters for the big family, or the 1-on-1 visit. Nice and relaxed; we visit regularly.

Poreta M.

Cross rds hotel…
What can I say but a massive change from the Pub I knew it was…
Ive had my nieces African Theme 21st party there & I must say the venue, food & staff was a hit for my family & we are very hard to impress…
I was there lastnight with a few mates to have drinks & food to celebrate a mates passing have to say the food was on point & just discovered another bar at the back so it looks like I will be organising a small function soon…

Karen S.

It was a very spacious area. Lovely modern and clean interior. Service was very good, staff were polite and friendly.

Jacinta W.

Had a 50th birthday there at the restaurant. Was good atmosphere; nice and chill, music not too loud so you could hear people talk. Everyone's food looked great. The steaks and fish dishes in particular looked delicious. I got the Apple, cranberry and feta salad (way too much apple for my taste but otherwise delicious! )

Arnoud T.

Had a nice dinner Tuesday evening here with the family, not too busy. Good food and proper sizes. We sometimes come to eat here on the weekends for a late brunch or dinner and it can be a bit crowded then. We'll be back.

Jason L.

Very friendly atmosphere. Food great and staff very friendly and helpful. Service very good. Amenities clean and dining rooms open and light. Modern feel to the dining areas. A great place for social gatherings and dinner.

Cara N.

The schnitzel is delicious! They make good portions except for the pasta, the way that’s served is a trick to the mind and my friend was not happy with his. The plate was huge but the bowl part was tiny, it’s shaped like a sun hat. Good atmosphere and excellent parking, some staff are lovely while some are a bit rude and snappish.

Michelle H

Plenty of off road parking here especially for larger vehicles. The room rates were cheaper if you book online. The staff were friendly and helpful and I checked in very late at night. Smoking is still permitted in designated areas and the hotel is old so if you're a nonsmoking guest you will notice the smell while accessing your rooms. No smoking permitted in rooms though. There was some noise from the beer garden but my window was open and it didn't affect my ability to sleep. The beds and linen were clean, fresh and comfortable. Tea and coffee facilities were available in my room. The bar downstairs is open until 2am for those who would like a drink. I will return here for a good nights sleep when working.

Bryan M.

We stayed at the accommodation. Huge barn of a pub with everything you can imagine. The rooms were quiet even though the roads were very busy and noisy and the pub was packed. TV in the room was huge. Staff excellent. Very helpful and friendly. The room was good but ours was missing some trim around one of the doors. Basic breakfast bar in the room to make toast, and a cup of tea.

Hayden K.

Had dinner with family and was pleasantly surprised by such an exquisite menu with great prices on even better food. Will be returning soon to try more of the menu and possibly plan my work Christmas party. On tap Canadian club and dry is a huge bonus!

Michael K.

Was pleasantly surprised to find this gem so close to home. The food here is delicious and comes out exceptionally quickly; even with how busy it was. We had a single issue (a simple mistake regarding dessert), but it was remedied before we had a chance to sit back at our table. The staff here are attentive and very helpful. Will definitely be coming back.

Merwyn M.

The refurbishment to this pub has greatly increased the number of patrons. Check Google for best times to visit. Portions are large. Decor is lovely and open cocktails are alright. Definitely visit for a hearty meal! Best seating options are within the new bistro. The beer garden offers water fans on hot days.

Danielle E.

Atmosphere was very relaxed and nice. Staff at the Bar and restaurant were great. Gaming area experience was the best. The staff attending to the gaming area are very attentive and friendly. The meals are great and very reasonably priced. Drinks at the bar are well priced also. Overall great experience.

Lance G.

The Crossroads Hotel has recently been renovated and it looks great. There is now a lot more room to dine in style. The menu has a good variety. You can become a member which reduces the prices.

Duzy N.

I can't recommend the bistro at the venue enough. The servings are big, tastes great, served fast and you aren't charged an arm and a leg. The venue has a great atmosphere and has a fresh modern design. Great place to have dinner or a few lazy beverages at lunch.

Nicole H.

My partner and I went to this pub quite regularly on Friday evenings for dinner being our local. Prior to the renovation the food was outstanding as was the atmosphere. We finally had time to go recently with the new renovation for dinner and found the menu had changed, nearly all of our favourite food selections were gone, prices went up even for drinks/food and the food was nothing to be desired, sauces were very runny and bland and was just not enjoyable to eat. Their previous wonderful steak chips have been replaced by skinny soggy chips, and the menu was heavily condensed from what it use to be. It felt like a cafeteria, was loud and the sound carried throughout echoing making it hard to hear your own conversation, and did not have that warm inviting feel it previously use to have. Although it looks new and the decor is nice we were extremely disappointed and won’t be going back again anytime soon.

Henry K.

Great location. Good for the whole famly. The beef nacho for two was disappointing. But so far all the other food has been well prepared and will be going back again and again.

Raani L.

Great local place for dinner and drinks. Food is amazing! Doesn't take long to get to your table either. Decent menu items available.

Ruaa D.

My husband has been raving about this place finally made it and it’s great. Food, atmosphere and service all top notch. The menu is a typical pub menu but is done well. Try the Omani fettoush I loved it. Will definitely come back to try other items on the menu.

Craig M.

Great location clean and well presented restaurant area and bar. Great family venue good quick service keeps the kids happy. Great menu for the family. Plenty off street parking.

Eric T.

I've lived near Crossroads Hotel for quite sometime but only recently have I stopped by after its renovation. The food is definitely an attempt at something finer and I must say that they do do it decently well (ribs were a little dry). The decor is also a heavy step up with a beautiful and brighter interior that likens itself to an Australian seaside cottage. Would definitely come back if only the prices were not so exorbitant!

Holly C.

This is hotel is deceptively large. The main bar is appointed in a manner that creates a very light and bright atmosphere. The lounges differentiate the casual area from the bar section, which has higher stools and tables. They have a small poker machine area, but it offers complimentary tea, coffee and muffins to gamblers. They have a section in this area where you can smoke. The restaurant area is also quite expansive. However, it can get very busy and the place does fill up, so I'd recommend booking ahead. Weekends, obviously, are the busiest. Meals can be hit and miss. They do steak and schnitzel the best. I've had the salmon, and that is definitely not their speciality. The food comes quickly, even when they are busy. It can get a bit rough of an evening though. I've witnessed some aggressive behaviour in the car park. The security are usually on to it quickly, but it still happens.

Juan O.

I've gone there for years and never had a bad experience. They've recently expanded the dining area and it looks mint! I haven't eaten there yet though.

Stan E.

Nice setting. Food looks good but tonight will yell. Good place to wind down.

Patricia Z.

Went to a work event hosted at the Crossroads Hotel. It has been recently renovated so everything is new. The interior looks great and professional. There are side rooms which can be booked for private events.

Miss C.

I attended a social function held at Crossroads Hotel. The staff were attentive and interested in providing the best care. The three-course meal was well prepared and provided in a timely manner. We enjoyed our night immensely!

Lauren K.

Loving the renovations that have taken place. The place is really starting to come together nicely. It has always been a busy hotel to visit, only maybe now we will see a different crowd of people with a positive influence on the establishment.

Bass A.

A very nice hotel with friendly staff and goood amaneties the restaurant serves delicious food and the consistency is good large selection of beers and cocktails at the bars the layout of the dining and bar areas is very well thought out, I highly recommend this place its good for groups and good for parties aswell.

The H. F.

UPDATE; nov 17th. Seriously big changes here. Massive renovations happened. Fantastic bistro area. Deliciously good food 5 stars hands down. My rump was outstanding as was the side salad sauce and potatoes. Attention to detail cannot fault it. Everyone loved it and the manager is very attentive and on the floor. Paid 5 bux for membership so ill be coming back. Mums salmon was delicious and my partners schnitzel was spot on. Just the accoustics too loud! Well done! Had dinner here last night with family. First up turkish garlic bread was nice. My chicken schnitzel was ok no seasoning at all and didnt enjoy the frozen veges tho the corn was nice. Bearnaise sauce was ok. My dads salt and pepper squid was nice enough very soft could do with chilli. My partners linguini boscaiola was sadly not as good as ive had it before. No depth at all.

Jessie K.

Had lunch with our large family group today. Great service and very friendly staff. Food was ok, but found the size of the servings to be too big. A suggestion would be to cut the serving size and reduce prices as for a family the total bill was very high. For a 'pub meal'.

Yyzfrank A

Not a bad place for a quick bite. Had a burger with pineapple very interesting taste. Not over the top burger but if your in the area worth a try…

Michael P.

Recently partially renovated so decor was not bad, crowd seemed ok and the service was fine.

Rachael A.

Great renovation which unfortunately did not include acoustic considerations. Very high noise level in bistro had us leaving as soon as we had eaten but for those who don't mind that, food was reasonable and pizza was delicious.

Alen D.

The light lunches are pretty good. Had the 12 dollar snitzel. Was thick and tender and tasted delicious… place looks nice and staff are friendly… beers are pretty expensive tho.

Cheryl Y.

Have been to Xroads many times & always enjoyed the experience. Went just after reno completed and was disappointed. The dining area looks superb but it has an echo effect that gets louder as the venue fills. Unimpressed with a small glass of house wine costing $8.00 and a bottle of JB & cola at $10.50 (look around at other pub prices from Liverpool to Picton) also I had to ask twice for a glass with ice. My Panko chicken looked very inviting however was bland, chips soft and salad slimy with too much dressing, also cost $2.00 to $4.00 more than similar venues. Asking around the table only two were happy with their meals and a lot of food was left on the plates. One had seafood basket which was tasteless. We were a group of six and due to echo we could not clearly hear each other, also sun was in the eyes of people facing windows and we tilted the blinds, an employee came along and opened them again without asking. We are a group that lunch together regularly and I don't think we will be back despite XRoads being one of our previous choices. Apparently at the time the venue was working with a makeshift kitchen, but first impressions are lasting. Will be watching reviews. Cy.

Coll L.

Kids meal was $13 absolutely tiny portion. The seafood basket had a prawn skewer (cold) a grilled scallop which was good. The flathead fillets were tiny and 70 per cent batter. The calamari was soggy and it was all placed on top of the chips which ended up soggy and unedible. The chicken schnitzel was good. Overall expensive pub grub. You need to lift your game plenty of better options moorebank and Gregory Hills come to mind.

Mel A.

We came last night and had a meal, renevations look great although the food was average in comparison to the price
We ordered drinks and waited for some entertainment to begin as usual on a Friday night prior to the renovations
We asked at the bar and was told they no longer have entertainment here, the football is on for entertainment
We finished our drinks and left and moved to another venue that had entertainment for the rest of the night
We will no longer be coming on every odd Friday night in a group like we used to for a meal and drinks as we'll be going else where that has entertainment on
Very disappointed that our local no longer caters Friday night entertainment.

Terry E.

Very crossroady. Great pub across the road. If I could I'd marry the Jade VIP lounge, and have four sofa's with it.

Ian M.

A nice pub, we had a meal at there Restaurant and were not overly impressed, problem was I noticed on the way out that they are using a makeshift Kitchen while renovation, s are under way, so hopefully when it is all finished things will improve.

Luke C.

Great food n drink. Staff are nice. Pokies generally payout too.

Ben G

Enjoyed a nice pub meal here at a respectable price. It just took a little longer than I thought for food considering it wasn't busy. I will certainly be back.

David C.

The food is nice but a touch too pricey so I tend to eat elsewhere. The mid week specials make a trip here for dinner worth it. Had the fish curry recently which was brilliant, as was the beef ribs. Great range of beers on tap but this pub closes most of the building off to drinkers early compared to many other local pubs. I don't want to drink in the pokies section thanks.

Been here a couple of times, mainly for dinner. Nice little place to dine out and relax. Food is good, prices can be better. Staff is also very friendly :)
