The most expensive and disgusting YHA I’ve ever stayed at! Woke up with a swollen eye, dirty smelly bedding, no air con in room, not even a fan in room, the room stunk all night I was dry heaving. All this for $50 a night! I’d expect this form a $20 a night hostel. The staff were nice that’s the only good thing about it.

Run down old crappy YHA that is filthy and noisy. The staff at reception were always lovely though. $150 for a twin room with ensuite and up the road at The Sands Hotel it's $180 for way better facilities. I'll never come here again and definitely won't recommend it for the sake of savingnanfew dollars. Urgh!

Get what you pay for backpackers good for a nights stopover.

Used to be a wonderful hostel. Nothing to complain with the service and staff (great people and great effort for everything). The problem is that this hostel is falling apart. I was here the first time in 2003, then several times again in the years. Never an improvement, never something renewed. This was my last time. Owners, please don't waste such a gem and his great potential!

The best hostel in northern Sydney. Clean, tidy, accessible, large and luminous. A few meters from the sea and very friendly staff.

Not bad. Could be greater if I knew they have different system to use kitchen utensils — very poor kitchen to use However, a local met at beach said this place was sold to a developer, would be demolished soon.

The hostel's location is the best. 50 mts away from the beach and bus stops that take u to the city and the northern beaches as well. It's a clean hostel, especially the bathrooms. Rooms are a bit small, so u have the feeling of being a bit tight in there, but the atmosphere at the hostel and the beach nearby make it impossible to stay inside the room. Would def come back if I ever go to Sydney again.

This is your place if you are looking for accommodation in Australia. Either if you are looking for a short stop on the way or for place that will make you feel at home, this is the right place. I had the pleasure to stay there for 10 months, and it was a great experience. Not only the hostel has facilities and services with a quality way above others in the area, its staff will also make sure to help you any time you need. If you give them a shot, you will miss this place forever, just like me!

This hostel has been my home and work for nearly 2 years for a good reason. I love this place, met great friends and made good memories here. A great place to find work from, and the beach right outside are definitely +1. Miss it and hope to come back someday!

So inviting and welcoming. No sitting in they middle of the traffic as on Pittwater rd. ☺

Traveling as a solo young girl I was put into a very uncomfortable situation as all they put me into a four bedroom with three guys. I ended up in a very bad situation and felt scared to actually sleep in my room. When I tried to contact the staff I was unable to and I checked out first thing the next morning. When I sent them an email telling them the situation they didn’t as much as respond to me. Very shocked with the situation and completely dissapointed. I will be letting all my girlfriends know to steer clear from this hostel.

Wi-Fi only in the lobby, premium Wi-Fi required to have access anywhere else. Clean rooms. Awkwardly placed outlets, was a little annoying to charge and use the phone simultaneously. A lot of stuff do to, pool, kitchen, games. To be fair I only had mediocre weather, but the beach in direct proximity isn't that overwhelming, but the Narrabeen Beach is quite nice. Not a lot of restaurants closeby, but a small supermarket. And of course, nice people around.

My acai bowl came out 25 mins before my bf got his food. I finished before he had got his food. Eggs were over cooked. Toast was very lightly toasted and soggy as though it was wet. Wouldn't go back.

Good staff, friendly people & you can get a good nights sleep if you have work the next day.

Staff are super friendly and willing to sort out any issue. Rooms are clean and fairly standard for backpacker's. My room did get a little stuffy throughout the night, but there was a fan to deal with that. Bathrooms were clean but the door to the men's was slightly broken, it may have been fixed since my visit. Open foyer creates such a spacious feeling and is wonderful. The stairs up to the second floor are hidden next to reception which is a little weird. The kitchen was sufficiently clean and provided some basic equipment to cook with, which was great. All the activities they offer up there are a bonus too. Overall my stay was great and I would definitely consider coming back! Thanks guys!

Great accommodation. Beach nearby and lovely surroundings. Pool on the roof and lovely views.

I'm curious about what procedures this beachouse follows when a room has been quarantined… but that's not it, I was allocated another dorm it was crystal clear to me that I was not welcomed as I unlocked the door open to see that the bunks pushed together obviously they knew what had taken place … anyways they give me a private room… whippedeefarkindoo! I checkout the next day asking management when my belongings will be done for pickuP… well wada ya know all my things that I was told to put inside of a black rubbish bags to be washed, drycleaned and so on was still in the same place I left it the day before… I figured they dont follow nO or any procedures in this case. The beachouse is.

The infos are very comprehensive and practical. I hardly get lost in a big city such as Sydney. Upon knowing the location we will open the YHA Colleroy web site and place our bookings right awayt.

Seems to be a hostel with most guests rather working than travelling. Many stay there for several weeks. Close to the beach, but could be cleaner and in better shape.

I spent 2 nights with my family (2 children + husband + brother) in January 2013. The room wasn't clean, it smelled bad. People smoked in the internal terrace opposite to our room, so we got smoke inside the room. There was a party on the second night which wasn't very loud, but next morning the place was a complete mess with cigarettes and empty bottles all over the terrace. Nobody from the Hostel seemed to care about it till the time we left at 9am.
