Review of Rest Point Motor Inn 3*

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! POOR FOOD AND HORRIBLE SERVICE We just ate dinner at this steakhouse all seemed fine staff were nice. We all ordered our steaks, all good. My wife ordered a porterhouse steak with mushroom sauce. The steak arrived as ordered with mushroom sauce. After taking a few bites my wife asked me to taste as she fear the meat was spoiled. Tasting it I found it tasted of blue cheese sauce. I asked to speak to the chef, I went to kitchen he smelt it and acknowledged it smelt of blue cheese, with no explanation of how this happened. So have told them my wife thought the meat was off and they acknowledging they had made an error we assumed we would not be charged. Fine with us we know accidents happen. It was a $34 steak so he had expectations We went to pay the bill and they told us "management" has said to give us 50% off. We I queried this they said it was "management" decision. So I asked to speak to management the staff indicated they were in the adjacent Rest Point Motor Inn. So I went over to query the decision with John the manger. My wife proceeded to pay the bill as presented, of course no tip. The office manger who said she was a director said she could help. When I queried the decision about charging half price she immediately indicated that was fair as my wife had eaten some of the steak. Of course I objected. She then asked if we had smeared blue cheese sauce on the steak ourselves! (to get it free? ) The staff member from the restaurant indicated the chef had acknowledged the chefs error. Then John joined in and again tried to accuse us of trying to get a free steak. At this point we left with a view that their customer service, and empathy for delivering poorly and then accusing their dissatified customer of theft was beyond argument and only worth letting everyone to avoid this hell hole at all costs. Don't take the risk of paying to be accused of theft.
