There is two parts to the review 1. The accomodation &2. The restaurant.
1. The accomodation. I booked in for one night having not stayed here before I had little idea as to what to expect other then the handful of mixed reviews I could find on line. I booked a classic queen room for the night, cost around $115. What did I think. The space wasn't huge but quite satisfactory for 1 person for 1 night. The bed was comfortable, the room layout worked fine. The bathroom was a little dated, clean but could do with a freshen up. I hate soap and shampoo on the wall, I realise it's smart from an operation point of view but for $115 l expected more. The towels and bed linen were perfectly acceptable, clean and fresh.
I had a window that I opened for ventilation, wishful thinking. The motel was booked solid and I made the mistake of opening the bathroom window and shut the bathroom door to block out the noise of other people coming and going, more fool me my night was not as comfortable as it could have been! My fault but worth remembering next time, and I have no reason for there not to be a next time. I rated the room 2.5/5, it was nothing special and compared to other properties more expensive.
2. The restaurant.
A funny place that grew on me. The staff were very good, the beer as you would expect, the food was the stand out. The beef I had was excellent, really I couldn't fault the meat, it was cook perfectly and extremely tender, thankyou. If I was to be critical I think the beans with the bacon were too much. With meat this good I would have been just as happy with a bowl of fries on the side. The desert, and yes I did indulge, was ok, it was the rib eye on the bone that was the stand out and what I'll be back for… even if it cost $40! I rated the restaurant 4/5 as the beef was seriously that good.
All in all good spot to stop and one I'll try again.
