Nice atmosphere nice food. Nothing fancy but nothing bad.

Great food. Friendly, helpful staff. Good place to take kids for dinner.

Come up from Sydney to see some family and friends checked out this place didn't know what to expect. Rump steaks for $10 with two sides either chips and salad mash or veg with also house sauce included. Steak was tender vegetables with beautiful. Highly recommend to check this place out. These meals are a decent size.

Can't stress enough how nice a place this is and how good the locals must be. Lost my wallet here after a few drinks on a Friday night, rang them the next day and it had been handed in. When I came to pick it up, everything was there cash and all. Staff even tried contacting mutual friends on FB to let me know it was safe. Like I said quality place, quality people and I will be back.

Had a wonderful time the staff was very friendly and the food wad outstanding. Had the chicken schnitzel and it was not out of a box it was hand made and it was cooked perfect. The beer was cold but the price is a bit high but still had a really good time. Thanks.

10 dollar meals on Wednesday night is very hard to beat. Ordered our food. Bought some drinks and before we could sit down the buzzer went off and our food was ready. Excellent service. Will be back next week.

Great service and delicious food, lovely old pub a must visit if your ever up this way.

I don't like rating locals badly but just a review of my service. Food was ok, meal size a little small, young girl at the bar was busy on her phone over serving us. The bar manager had to yell at her to serve us, which because she got yelled at (her fault) she was flat when we served us. And being new to the place we didn't know our way around, would of been nice to be told the kitchen to pick up the food is on the otherwise of dining room. Could use a bit of a clean out there.

Being from Sydney I wasn't too sure what I was walking into when my sister suggested we go here for lunch. I must admit I was pleasantly surprised when I walked into the old hotel which features much of it's original structures, I genuinely felt like I stepped back into my childhood. Lunch was a bargain, $10 and it was a decent size serving, staff were very friendly and I will happily return there upon my next visit to the Cessnock.

Ample sized meals with steak cooked to order perfectly along with fresh vegetable produce. Very low lunchtime price and very good value!

This place is unreal! Best pub grub around. Especially the $10 schnitty. The live music was awesome, had a really good band on. Would definitely recommend this place and come back next time I'm in Cessnock. The staff were really friendly too. Nice one guys.

The kids love the play area, but the food isn't that good. The Rump for $10 is crappie. I would pay more to get more quality. Or get a new chef.

This place is great value we stayed over the long weekend at a great price. Rooms were big. Heaters worked and sheets and towels were clean. Be aware the building is old and tired but clean. We drank in the bar with a nice warm fire going and had the best 10 dollar steak anywhere we have been. All staff were friendly professional and welcoming.

Garlic bread came out burnt, followed by two of the four main meals purchased, with a 10 minute wait for the other two meals. Snitzel was ok but nothing to write home about, crumb was very thick and meat dry. $10 snitzel board was on display but when we ordered we were told that wasn't an option on weekends-misleading. To top it off we noticed a couple of roaches crawling on the dining table right after we finished our meal. Also the tomato sauce tasted like vinegar had been mixed in with it and the consistency was very strange. Definitely not returning to eat here anytime soon.

Bellbird restaurant review ~ 4/5 stars. Massive food portions, delicious Bellbird burger and mixed bag in staff attitude is the easiest way to surmise the restaurant. Bellbird hotel review ~ 2/5 stars… we stayed for 1 night in the Bellbird hotel as we attended a festival nearby over the weekend and for $100+ a night the hotel was of a very poor standard. The rooms are small and stuffy and a damp smell permeates through the hotel. The communal bathrooms were dirty and need a good spring cleaning. As a plus was comfortable and fresh towels / soap were provided. Overall it's still got a bit of old world charm but management need to pick up their game a lot. Please note DO NOT try and leave the hotel in the morning before 11am as you will be locked out and your room key does not open the main hotel door.

Good priced, fast meals, not amazing but enjoyable, good price drinks.
