Nice rooms and comfy beds. Did not have doona on bed so was cold. Tasty room service and amiable people at the front desk. The buffet breakfast was poor and the cafe service was slow.

Someone buy the poor cook a decent toaster. Eggs on bread doesn't work. And you can't hang a full length overcoat in the wardrobe cube provided. Great bathroom, comfortable bed. Moody black interior, but Canberra seems to favour moody black. Each to their own.

Great location Close to food and drinks plus a cinema. Happy helpful staff. Cosy and relaxing place.

Staff go above and beyond, 5 stars for service! Candice in particular has been great and very accommodating. Also compliments to the chef food is amazing! Highly recommend staying with here.

This place is really good value for money. For the rooms anyhow, the food and wine are too expensive. Dinner was fabulously cooked meat, but the dish was not enough to justify $30+. Smart clean rooms for the most part, staff friendly if a little inexperienced. Great location, some excellent nearby breakfast options, and right on the lake bike paths.

Visited peppers with a friend to help them, staff was good, great location, limited and very poor parking options. The drinks are great and the rooms looked great.

While some of the hotel rooms are a little small the apartments are great. Nicely designed and comfortable. Plenty of storage and a good couch to watch tv. Nicely decorated.

Good location. Free inhouse movies did not work on TV for the whole week of stay. Issues with plumbing with the toilet clogging and not being able to be used. This happened 2 days in a row. However, maintenance service was prompt.

It is much better than a 5 star: instead of spacious rooms it has luxurious 5-room apartments, equipped with everything more. The 305 where I stayed was fabulous, with American kitchen, 2 bathrooms, informal lounge, large lounge with small terrace, bedroom, and all, just all useful household appliances. Also the entrance is bestial!

Quiet location just out of CBD, near national museum, but easy walk to city centre. Onsite restaurant is also available to the public. Reasonably priced meals and service is quick with generous servings.

I guess I had the worst room, adjacent to the footpath I was unwittingly and vicariously involved in several conversations by groups of pedestrians loitering outside. The room needs to be at least double-glazed. Breakfast was late, slightly above room temperature and excitingly presented as a plate of carefully partitioned ingredients, I might have misread the menu. There are no unoccupied power-points, but you can have some fun playing electrician moving appliances around so you can re-charge something. Very pretty hotel but a few corners looking a bit tired; staff seemed eager and helpful.

Great little hotel clean, great staff and a lovely Italian restaurant.

The hotel is located in a quiet part of Canberra and is about a 15 minute walk into the CBD. The rooms were tidy and had everything you need. Staff were friendly and helpful. Overall was a great place to stay.

My 3rd visit to this hotel and I always love it. Beautiful rooms and the best service is what keeps me coming back.

Great room, service and price. Convenient location. Certain areas in need of renovations but didn't effect our stay. Delux bathroom was great. Will be returning.

Crazy expensive for what are pretty small and dark rooms. The internet speeds are straight from 1994 and their in-house TV system didn't work the whole time we were there. Not much to say good or bad on the service but all in all a pretty lacklustre showing from Peppers who I would have expected more from.

Room was good, comfortable bed and friendly staff. We were disappointed with the buffet breakfast. We arrived at 9.30 (closes at 11) so we thought we had plenty of time to eat. Although to our surprise and disappointment the buffet was well and truely under stocked. Hot food on offer was a couple of hash browns, 3 wedges of tomatoes, and couple of spoonfuls of mushrooms. Wasn’t expecting this at a 5 start hotel.

Reception and check in was done quickly and professionally. The room, King size bed is well appointed and clean. Room service as well as bar service for by well trained friendly staff members. Good is great the antipasto is recommended especially outdoors. I will definitely book another weekend soon.

The staff was competent but appearing to be significantly understaffed. Restaurant service was awful, and decor looked to be cheap '80s. It is supposed to be art deco but I think it just looked shabby, run down, and clunky.

Location was good. Nothing to comment on service as I received minimal to no service. Couch is so old and very uncomfortable.

It's a bit of a rabbit warren, but the rooms and finishings are nice, close to the city, and friendly service.

Okay hotel. Nothing amazing. Moldy shower, stained sheets and convoluted parking situation. Bathroom door has a solid 3cm gap, meaning zero sound isolation. You WILL be able to hear your room-mate poop. Conversations can be heard from outside the room even when only talking at a normal inside voice. Yeah potential to be really good.

Beautiful hotel in Canberra's trendiest suburb. My allocated room was a disappointment after my last visit. The upper storey spaces are distinctly bigger, with nicer decor & ceiling murals unique to each room. By contrast, I was given a ground floor room — plain ceiling, no balcony, tiny bathroom & DARK BROWN walls (! ).

Nicly located, a short was away from a hub which had many nice restaurants. Room and bed were very comfortable and staff at reception were very friendly and welcoming.

One night stay on a weekend. Hotel is fitted out nicely, though the corridors and bathrooms aren't heated so can get very cold! The bar and cafes in the place are great, but the parking is a difficult and complicated process for something that should be simple. Overall good but lacking polish.

Quirky design elemnts with good old fashioned customer service. Rooms are comfortable with modern bathrooms. Fantastic dining and drinking options within walking distance, and the New Acton precinct is at your doorstep. A great place to stay when in Canberra.

Room was a bit small but quite pleasant. Room was also closest to an exit door which was a bit noisy as others guests were entering/leaving.

The hotel overall is good, the rooms are big, comfortable bed and great location. The breakfast is complete, so if you want buffet or menu. Small gym has, but enough for a few days.

Great room, I like the rainfall shower head. It's refreshing to come back to the hotel room after a long work day. The italian restaurant was also amazing, had pasta and pizza over 2 days and it was delish. 4 stars because of the noise from the hall. It kept waking me up till late at night… Even the noise of people passing in the corridor was loud as if they were in the room. A bit more sound insulation would make a world of difference.

A true "Boutique" hotel. Lacking on so many things… Not even close to 5-stars. Understaffed. No-one greets you on arrival. Aircon in room doesn't function properly. Noise from the street. Won't be back.

The hotel was nice, possibly recently renovated. Room was spacious, bathroom was modern. Complimentary tea and coffee. TV in room was old, small and shirt resolution.

Loved being in a renovated, heritage listed building. Lots of quirky courtyards to see, restaurants to go to within walking distance.

I have stayed here a lot in 2015 and it once was great but the standard has been declining to the point where I will be looking for somewhere else in 2016. Cleanliness needs to be improved. The bathroom sinks and showers also all seem to leak water onto the ground in most of the rooms.

Rooms cheap but could be improved with a good clean. Two day stay and both days the key card did not work, so could not get into hotel and had to spend the night in the car as no one on reception. Not a good experience at all. The only good thing that was done was a refund of the stay.

Great hotel in an awesome location!

I spent a weekend in this hotel with my partner. We loved it! The staff was friendly, the room was very stylish, clean and with everything you might need. We will definitely go back again!

Although the website seems to focus on the modern architecture and urban chic style the building and rooms are quite old. I had no reception for my cell phone (Telstra) in the hotel and Wi-Fi constantly dropped making business teleconferencing exceedingly difficult. The proximity to downtown and the friendly staff are about the only things positive about the hotel.

A unique hotel in a lovely old building. The rooms are a good size and tastefully decorated. The creaky floors add to the character of the place and help give it a sense of history. Good location but the non existent parking is a pain. I'd suggest parking in the Wilson open air car park 100m down the road.

We stayed one night at Peppers Gallery hotel and we really enjoyed our stay. The rooms are comfortable and well equipped, including a pod-style coffee machine. The room and the bathroom were spotless and artfully laid out. The hallways are a little dark, or perhaps atmospheric, but other than that our stay was quiet, comfortable and the service was excellent. There is some free street parking (until 8:30am or 9:30am) and they have secure underground parking for an additional fee. And they have free Wi-Fi — which is a big plus. We would definitely come back.

Didn't do much wrong I don't stay in a lot of hotels, but when I do I always find it's easy to be critical of them. But Peppers does quite a few things right. They had very friendly and helpful staff at the front desk. The rooms were simple, but fairly pretty — lovely wallpaper on the roof, a good control of light in the rooms with both lights and windows. The bathrooms were pretty new looking. It is in a nice part of Canberra too, and close to lots of things. The beds were comfortable. We had the opportunity to stay in a cheaper room, and then a deluxe room. Although the deluxe was only $10 more, I would stick with the cheaper room. The only differences were the ordinary room was smaller (but its bathroom was bigger) and had one less chair (and a log). The ordinary room had a better design, better light control, a better bathroom, a better shower head, and held warmth better. One problem was the cheaper room was closer to the hotel's restaurant/club, which stayed quite loud well into Saturday night. There is very little sound control in the rooms. The TVs and DVD players in both rooms were on the dated side. The hotel's DVD collection has titles ranging up to about 2011. Apparently the hotel offers parking at $15 per night, but the staff suggested helpfully that there is a fair bit of free parking on surrounding streets on weekends and evenings (though they didn't say that Saturday nights it is all full up till well into the night).

Comfortable and clean. Not great noise insulation. TV is a relic. I think my grandfather owned one. Stayed for one night. Wouldn't object to coming back.

Simple and comfortable. Had to stay here for a nearly month whilst in Canberra for work, room was very nice to come back to after busy days. Restaurant served excellent food downstairs.

Looked good but a lot of faults On arrival and exit they had the billing wrong — I had a printout of the price fortunately but it took a while to sort out Somebody had spilled something? on the carpet and it stank. They had a heater on for the few days that helped but it was too noisy to run at night so the smell built up again No electric blanket! one morning was minus 6. Cold without relief The restaurant was booked out the evening we arrived — we should have been told that we needed to book if this was likely — no other restaurants near by Not going to go back there again.

Love love LOVE this hotel! Me and my partner went here for our anniversary and loved the location of the hotel, a nice walk to the main part of town, and the hotel is just amazing, the furnishings all around the hotel are quirky and cool, then the room is so beautiful, it is clean, it smells fresh and nice, all the furnishings are new and in perfect condition, it does not have that dirty old feeling most hotels have, it has lots of windows so it is light and airy, and has thick black curtains for when you want darkness, I especially loved the wallpaper on the roof. We stayed in a room with a bath, perfect for a romantic night, the bathroom is really nice, however the one only negative point I have is that the bathroom door is French door style and there is a small gap in the middle of it, and the toilet is right is eyesight when you look into the bathroom we will definitely be staying here again.
