Oxford Hotels near Hertford College

This is easily the best hotel in Oxford and one of the best hotels I've stayed in Britain. I had a smaller room, but it was anything but claustrophobic.

A great location, well-placed in terms of central Oxford and its rich social and cultural offerings.

The hotel is well located close to all colleges. The rooms are a tad small though I had been upgraded hence the mention. Being a low floor I had no views which was a shame.

My second time at this lovely hotel. Staff are efficient and friendly, rooms are tasteful and a lovely luxury style. Very comfortable beds and quiet area. It's a 10minute walk into Oxford.

We stayed at The Randolph Oxford for two nights. First of all, the hotel’s concept, atmosphere, and location are genuinely beautiful.

Nice rooms, lovely staff. Fantastic location. Lovely bar with great cocktails. Great air con for summer stay. Niggles — spa is £20 to even just go to sauna. Parking is £48 a day.

Lovely hotel. The prison rooms are amazing if you don’t mind the fact that you might get a chill walking through the door like my partner did.

Great location, fantastic building with stunning architecture and a great experience to actually stay in an old jail. All the staff very friendly and helpful.

This is a fabulous hotel in a great location on the Banbury Road. Parking on site, with a bus stop right outside making it so easy to get into the city.

Our second stay, but this time with a full family to attend our daughter's wedding. We booked 3 rooms, all were spotlessly clean and beautifully presented.

Very nice location next to the river, large outdoor seating area. Outdoor area is great for when the weather is milder.
Prices for pints are standard, but cocktails slightly expensive.

We stayed one night at the Head of the River. Our room was spacious, clean and just perfect. We ate both dinner and breakfast there. The breakfast was included in our stay and it was amazing.

Great hostel, I stayed here for two nights, wish I could have stayed more. Nice kitchen with all of the amenities to cook. Free coffee, tea along with milk. Sofa with a TV in common room.

The position is great, right next to town. And had the best experience ever within a hostel in there. The workers were really friendly and helpful with everything! Love how it works in there.

We had afternoon tea here, which was lovely. There was so much food that we both had to take a doggy bag home. Very good value, excellent customer service.

The main reception was decorated beautifully for Christmas. We were welcomed and checked in by a very smart and friendly young man. Our room was well furnished, clean and comfortable.

We stayed at Rhodes House for a weekend in January and it was the perfect experience. The gentleman at reception on Friday 30th (wish we’d caught his name! ) was so friendly and helpful.

The bed was super comfortable and I loved the pillows. Just the right depth for me.
The staff were so lovely, helpful and accommodating.
The location is perfect for seeing tue sights in Oxford.

Nice big top floor room. Spacious and everything you need. But, it's very noisy outside (Fri night) until 1am or after. Perfectly central and easy to go everywhere. Staff really friendly and helpful!

Quaint hotel that was once a bookstore and restored by its current owners. Only 2 rooms on each floor, large size with an absolutely spectacular view, walking distance to a great variety of interests.

We stayed for a few nights over the Xmas period. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was pleasant and clean. It would have been nice to have had more bedding as it was rather cold.

I had a wonderful short stay at The Old Black Horse Inn in a single room. The room was cozy, spotlessly clean, and cleverly organized, making great use of the space.

We stayed for two nights and overall had a pleasant experience. Our room was nicely presented and the beds were very comfortable.

We booked last minute for a place to stay near the theatre when most hotels in Oxford were mad prices for a Saturday night.

We had a two-night stay at the Sportsview Guest House in April 2026. This is an ideal place to stay, and especially so if you have a car and want to be very near Oxford city centre.

Actually really surprised with this accommodation.
We got a newly renovated room on the same floor as reception which was easy with our heavy luggage.
Room was clean with plenty of space and ensuite.

Really nice group of accommodation blocks. The double room exceeded our expectations and we had a lovely view of the square. Room was clean and bathroom was nice.

Good location for shops, bars and restaurants. The hotel/accommodation is split across a couple of buildings on the square. The main building where reception is located is also an education centre.
