Fantastic venue with really friendly and helpful staff! We have played there several times as a band and always have a great crowd and we’ll looked after! Can’t wait to perform there again.

Had a lovely Sunday lunch/ baby shower at the busy restaurant which had a great atmosphere. The staff are so pleasant and couldn’t do enough for us. The food was gorgeous too! Looking forward to our next visit!

They have really worked hard in lockdown getting it all ready for reopening and it look really nice, new furniture and decor, the outside garden area well thought out it’s a pleasure too come here now, the staff are always welcoming and pleasant, haven’t tried the food this time but if it’s anything like our last visit it will be nice! We come to Chirk in our motorhome several times a year, we will definitely come to The Hand Hotel for a meal/drink, Well done too you all.

Had our first takeaway from the hand today, it was absolutely beautiful and highly recommended! Can’t believe we waited so long to try one! I had the roast, hubby and 2 kids had the sharing box there was plenty of everything! Now need to decide what to have next 😁 thank you 👏🏻👏🏻

Thank you so much for a beautiful roast dinner today. Ordered at 10am and delivered at 3pm to lady Margaret’s caravan site. Food was delicious and the best roast I’ve had during the whole of lockdown. So friendly on delivery too. Can’t wait to visit again and have food from yourselves. Xxx.

We had a very enjoyable evening, the food is 100%, best meal we have had in a long time, lovely beer garden, then inside for a few drinks to a very nice bar with excellent pleasant staff.

Came for a meal last night on the 1st day of indoor eating and eat out to help out scheme. Amazing meal, plenty of choice and a good selection of GF options. Very professional with covid measures adhered to. Excellent service from Lewis and Molly.

We was very impressed with lunch yesterday and I highly recommend the rack of ribs.

Just had the chicken curry and chips and they were absolutely beautiful it the best take ways we had in a long time the chips was beautiful definitely have this again and recommend 100% thank you.

Been a few times the food is always tasty and the staff is attentive. Prices are very good love sitting by the open fire with logs you can put on the fire yourself… love it

What an amazing hotel this is we turned up on Thursday 10th October where we was greeted lovely by all the staff we asked if we could order some food as we was going to a friend's where we were told the restaurant was closed until 5 explained that we wanted something before going to the wedding where Lee stepped in who had already finished his shift and agreed to make us lunch (which was amazing) when we were ready to go to the wedding the owner then took us in his own car. All the staff went above and beyond to help us or get us anything we wanted we will definitely be back I'd give this hotel 10+ out of 10

Delicious food, lovely restaurant, good beer garden. Dogs allowed in beer garden and bar area, which is a bonus.

Held a baby shower here 10/3/19. The newly refurbished restaurant is very chic. Food was only sandwiches and chips but they were amazing best chips in Chirk. Staff as usual friendly professional and nothing too much trouble. Thank you Ashley and team 5

We went here for dinner last night not knowing what to expect and we were very, very impressed. The food was perfection itself, and there was loads of it. And the service was also spot on. Would recommend to anyone.

Great Sunday lunch. Plenty going on in the beer garden for children, bouncy castle etc. Nice for children to play whilst grown ups enjoy their meal.

The hand hotel is a very large building in the centre of Chirk. The hotel is devided into many rooms which is a shame because people are strewn all over. All the rooms are clean and tidy and the staff very helpful but some of the decor needs a bit of attention. We had a room at the front of the hotel which was nice but was noisey first thing with traffic below us. Our breakfast was great, we could help ourselves with toast to die for but again the huge room was very dated. We looked out on a lovely big garden with some nice seating and parking out the back. The hotel has everything u need but it's just very dated. It sure has character.

We often call for coffee while waiting for our bus to Froncysyllte great coffee and service and the bonus is its dog friendly Also Chirk walking group has its Christmas lunch here about 30 people and they always set the room out beautifully and serve. Good hot food.

We stopped in Chirk looking for Sunday lunch out. We saw The Hand on the main road. They have a small carpark at the front but there is a much larger public carpark around the back. Three of us ate from the Sunday Roast menu and one had Steak. I asked about gluten-free, as I am gluten intolerant, and was shown which items were gluten-free. Unfortunately, my dinner arrived covered in gravy, which I gather from the effects, was not gluten-free! The roast lamb and beef was very tasty, however the pork loin turned out to be two overcooked chops. The steak was excellent. The service was very slow, but friendly. Overall, the food was okay, but they need to be more careful with allergens.

Dreadful place. Needs total make over. The staff are amazing but bedrooms are shabby, extremely dusty. You cannot turn the heating down, it was full blast in my room and my daughters. The children could not sleep in what was supposed to be a family room. It was just a slighly larger room with two mattress put on the floor by wide open window. I could not sleep as same in my room. We had asked the manger to turn heating down as turning the radiator knob had no effect. Dinner was served in squashed small room, standard pub food. Breakfast was served in same dark gloomly room. The woman who served every one at dinner and breakfast was tottaly amazing unlike the view out of our window which was the side ally of hotel with all rubbish in. Kitchen oppersite our window so very noisey after a party washing pots up till 1.30am. Not a place at all for families and I agree with previous comment a DUMP.

Two Salopian real ales on at £2.95. Whats not to like. Very pleasant stop for a beer in a Hotel bar with friendly staff.

A great place for every occasion from a wine to a wedding. The staff are friendly and helpful and above all professional.

Can’t praise here enough, able to assist with my gluten free requirement with no question or issue, nothing is too much trouble and the staff are all very friendly and helpful, perfect place for breakfast lunch or dinner or just a drink.

Lovely place, good size, lovely little touches of soaps and shower gels in bathroom, hotel good value for money, big breakfast for the price, staff very friendly, only downside for us, was room was far too warm even with no heating, not bad for a September night ha ha, would come again though.

Popped in for a drink whilst waiting for a friend who was arriving by train. Beer was in excellent condition and the staff were extremely friendly and efficient.

A friend of mine has just moved to Chirk and took me for a meal tonight I had fishermans pie just shy of £10 all you get is a tiny pie with very small salad and have to say it was more like a starter than a meal and not at all tasty. My friend had a meat meal sorry I forget what it was he got a good size portion but said it was tasteless and didn't even touch they boiled potatoes as he said they looked like they were left over from lunchtime. The manager or owner kept rushing back and to and moving seats and tables around didn't make for a relaxing atmosphere. Sad really as being an elderly gentleman my friend was looking for somewhere were he could go for evening meals on a regular basis but sadly won't be here … Sorry if this goes against anyone else's experience but I only review what I experienced.

I would say this is one of the best Sunday Lunches in the area, with gravy and yorkshire puddings to die for! Better still, with 5 young children in tow, and 84 year old grandmother as well, we were welcomed with open arms, the young lady even helped me get my 84 year old Mum into the hotel and seated as I had a pram and a toddler as well. Last but certainly not least our waitress Beth made the day, she could not have been more friendly, attentive and tended to our every request, going over and above board to make us feel welcome. We ended our meal with puddings in the gorgeous garden where the children and adults are completely catered for. Especially impressed with the amazing herb garden there, when Beth pointed out that the tarragon was cut fresh today to put in our Mushroom and Tarragon soup, which was incidentally delicious. We will be most certainly returning here!

We popped in on our journey home, the staff were friendly and attentive. Considering the price, the food was absolutely fabulous, plenty of it and good quality. The hand pull beer was really well kept (it was Doombar and went down far too easily! ) Oh yeah and the sticky toffee pudding was perfect.

Utter joke of a place I stopped here back in April for a drink after a nice day with family parked car in the car park not told there is a a control on parking not even informed of this even though must of spoke to 3 members of staff in the whole 25 mins I was there now the civil enforcement who controls their car park are impossible to get hold and I have tried to appeal but have been rejected one hell of an expensive drink never again will I stop here I hope the place shuts down utter utter joke.

Lovely traditional Coaching inn/Hotel. In days past it has been a vibrant venue for both local and visitors alike, but has suffered, like many pubs from social changes. It has all the makings of returning to its former glory and service from staff is first class. Just needs some TLC.

Stayed here recently room was clean and comfortable, breakfast was excellent the only down side of our experience here was that the room was very cold. Also had a sunday lunch the following day and that was excellant also thoroughly recommended.

Haven't stayed here but always had good meals and good bar snacks. Menu is ok and the decor is nice too. Move over to the bar area and its a different place all together. Beers good, wines good, all pretty good value for money.

Eat at Hand Hotel regularly, staff lovely, very efficient, food excellent and lots of it, fantastic value for money. V. Highly reccomended.

We have stayed at this hotel twice and have just booked for a third time the hotel was clean and tidy the staff were friendly and helpfull the food was first class. If your going to visit this area then you will not go wrong at the hand.

We stayed at the Hand for a night in August 2010 and couldnt fault it, staff were friendly and the breakfast was great, the room was clean and tidy. Would recomend the hotel to anyone wanting to stay in the area.
