El Sunset Hostel is a great place to stay in Puerto Vallarta. I've stayed on many occasions. The owner is super chill and very accommodating. He is also very knowledgeable about Vallarta and surrounding areas. Viva Vikingo!

Laid back interesting people within eseay walking distance To all amenities including ATM Beaches 10 min,,, walk good value for budget minded traveler.

Marco is fantastic. This hostel is super laid-back and chill but don't expect the Hilton. It Is a very old building but that just makes it more charming!

Marco the owner is lovely, a great host. The beds are comfortable and the atmosphere is good with easy access to a huge supermarket down the road and buses to take you to the beach.

The owner is very helpful and nice, location is at the beginning of hotel zone (close to the beach) 15 mins walk from the beach, 30 mins to the boardwalk, 1 min from public buses (8.5 peso for local 40 to Sayulita). The public areas can be a little bit more organized, but other from that good hostel. The only surprise for me is that the air con is only "during summer" (which didn't say in the booking), but the fan was ok during the night.

This is THE hostel in PVR! Owned and operated by a true Gentleman! Marco is honest, caring and understanding and way way cool! One of my best experiences in travel! Thank you for your friendship and kindness and wonderful experience! Such a moving fun cast of characters! Thank you Marco!

Construction facilities in some areas, not so clean.

So it ain't the Ritz, it's a Hostel. And it's just what a Hostel should be… great location, great value, super friendly guy who owns / runs the place (Thanks again Marco! ), fun and interesting people from all around the world who stay there… safe. I had left my motorcycle out on the road for 4 nights and knew 'Kingo', the very friendly resident dog would keep an eye on it. I will definitely be back. (The place could be cleaner but the Hostel is in the process of some renovations. Nothing that any Hosteller should be surprised by)
