I've been in this hostel four times in the last 5 years.
In this case, I was on a business trip, often fly to Uzbekistan and visit Tashkent by way.
But in general I like to travel and have been to different hostels, the experience is not wide, but there is from Georgia to Europe.
Topchan is beautiful in its own way. This is already a trampled intersection, with a very interesting audience. Here I met mostly brave and experienced tourists, from hitchhiking to Mongolian — rally, many led tourists.
The staff and service — by Tashkent's standards — is perfect.
And the owners value the reputation.
It's not far from the airport.
There are solutions to all the standard issues.
A clean, cozy layout.
I love this place.

The hostel is clean, cozy, European. The staff is polite. Change currency. Breakfast is simple but tasty.

Really nice hostel with great international atmosphere. It's very clean and the staff is friendly. The position is not ideal (1 hour walking to the center). Not the ideal place if you are looking for an authentic Uzbek experience.

Really nice hostel. Was a great place to relax and meet people. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were nicely decorated and clean with comfortable beds. Bathrooms were always clean and the showers were excellent. I'd definitely go back if I was returning to Tashkent.

I have mixed feeling about Topchan and think it's a bit overrated. First good points. The owners and staff are extremely nice and helpful, especially the girl that works there. Also, they arranged my letter of invitation much cheaper than other places and helped later with registration, which is pretty much pain in the neck in Uzbekistan-all if it I am really thankful for. Somehow though I could not understand this place. They call it hostel, but feels like a house not in a best sense to me though. Noisy, children running around, playing, watching TV in common area. I had a feeling common area, which is close to female dorm, is for the staff use actually. They were not happy to be asked to turn down volume at 11pm, and there were me and other guest to ask. At 8 am it was on again. They offer breakfast, but there is just one table in the kitchen-it would be great to put a second one as people coming in are just confused where to sit. I guess it feels better in private rooms, but for those sensitive to noise not the best place ever.

The place looks amazing. Great decoration in a pure backpacker style. The facilities are clean, cosy and comfortable. The staff is friendly and very helpful. Next time I pass by Tashkent, I know where I'll stay.

For a hostel — it's a terrific place. I'm not sure whether the separate rooms are good value, considering that some of them don't have windows opening to the outside of the building, but to the common space on the floor below, but the dorm room is of good standard, though usually full of snoring travellers :). The common space is a big plus, inviting but not overwhelming. And the guys running the place as absolutely fantastic, you do get amicable with them. I had a soft landing in Tashkent with their help. Thanks guys!

Hostel is awesome when you're inside it, but the location is a bummer. No metro close-by, only some buses. Also don't expect too much from breakfast. Although the staff is really nice and everything is clean!

Here is a cozy place and warming staffs. Though it was a year ago, I still remember a nice painting wall in their bedrooms. A place is not far from Tashkent airport. Convenient n reasonable price.

Basic accommodation. They think of everything and the staff is extremely helpful. A shout out to Alisher who was so charming.

Stayed there for two night in a twin room the first and then in the dormitory. The hostel is pretty busy and is best to book in advance. We had some miscommunication with administrator and out room was booked for the second night, so we had to move to the dormitory. Rooms are clean and spacious, so are all amenities, though the towels weren't properly dried and smelled a little. Breakfast and registration are included in the fee. Location is close to the train station and metro station, which makes it easy to access.

Best hostel in Central Asia! Comfortable beds, friendly staff, big kitchen, good Wi-Fi.

Location is not that good as it might be. All the rest is perfect. Wifi works well, hostel is clean and staf is kind and welcoming. I'd recomend this place to stay for overnight or longer period.

Objective: 1. A huge room at the hostel, I even lost a couple of times
2. The administration speaks Russian and English, which is very important for foreign tourists
3. Always explain in detail where what sights and how to get. If you do not know — find online
4. Know their colleagues in other cities
5. In the hostel, very clean and comfortable. 6. Free Breakfast. With it, hearty. Scrambled eggs, sausage, cheese, bread, tea/coffee, muesli. I have something to compare! In the other hotels (the more expensive) Breakfast — 1 yoghurt and a glass of tea… subjective: 1. When I arrived my money had only been on the map, and shoot at such a late hour was nowhere. Cash only Tajik. I was placed with the condition that the next day will pay! But in my place could be a dishonest person… 2. I met Tajiks who rested in this hostel and I managed to change money (quite big amount)
3. Change in Uzbekistan money in Bank rate is not profitable. And with the hands I was afraid of. Because once I was cheated. So I still tried to persuade recommending a specific person — say, we all send to him and he just lose customers if someone cheated. 4. Because I still 2 times changed large amounts at ofitsalnogo course and lost the money. I had penny.

I stayed at Topchan Hostel three times — on my way in, passing through and on my way out. It always felt like coming back home. The staff is super friendly and always helpful (no matter what time of the night you get in or have to leave! ) There are always travelers having a chat and a tea and you always get a proper welcome when you get there and a warm farewell when you're off. Great place to meet people and great plov!

Very cool hostel! Were here in early may 2016. Lovely atmosphere, cosy and clean room, great staff and people! By visiting this hostel, You will want to come back again. Having been in 3 hostels in Uzbekistan, I can confidently say that Topchan Hostel Tashkent best.

Wonderful hostel! Helpful staff, welcoming and friendly. The atmosphere in the hostel is very positive. Here is everything you need: kitchen, shower, place to stay. Clean, interesting interior and layout inside the hostel. The rooms are light, comfortable, have air conditioning, good Internet. Next to the hostel is easy to catch a taxi to reach the centre of Tashkent, in General, and in the hostel there is someone to take you, for example, to the airport. Thank you for your hospitality and comfort!

Great place! There were 23-29 March 2016, really enjoyed it! Very good location, close to the city centre. Very clean, hospitable hosts will help you with any questions. The rooms are bright and large. Always clean! There is a breakfast and a number of domašee institution with grilled and fried vkustnostâmi. The hostel is always calm and friendly atmosphere. Next time just go there!

The best hostel I've ever stayed at! Seriously! Friendly staff, great atmosphere, rooms and common areas are very neat and clean, and everything is steeped in the spirit of hospitable Central Asia — no wonder this place is booked out so often :D.

Very friendly welcome, even though I'm in the middle of the night arrived. The Hostel is located very close to the city centre and is with the 13 & 26 Tram is easily accessible. Currently is being renovated. The staff is very friendly and you can get any information. It is a very good meeting place for backpack travelers.

Writing this from Topchan's Wi-Fi, this place is awesome! The staff are great, it's really easy to meet like-minded travelers, and the whole place is covered in some great artwork. Really friendly atmosphere, definitely the place to stay in Tashkent!
