Wonderful place to stay, wonderful owners. Recommend the very hearty breakfast… eat it, and you don't need lunch! Room was a bit warm (humid weather), but they had fans you could use. Right on a bus line to downtown York. Definetly our "go to" first choice next time we're visiting York.

Lovely reception from the owners making us feel most welcome. Informed us of how to get to the main attractions of York. Room and enquire were lovely, only downside was the room was warm, however they did supply a fan. Good choice at breakfast and cooked to perfection.

Got a really warm welcome and was told that it was a small room but it's actually a nice size and very clean.

Stayed 2 nights this week with my student granddaughter. Lovely warm welcome from two talented hosts. So interesting to talk to. Spotlessly clean, warm and very comfortable accommodation. Excellent breakfast. Brilliant location. Pretty front garden adds to the welcome, as does their friendly little dog who only came to greet us when invited. Thank you so much!

The room was very nice, with a modern en-suite and comfortable beds. The owners were welcoming and knowledgeable about the area. Breakfast was nice, with accommodations made for vegetarian diets.

Absolutely fantastic stay again. Excellent rooms. Warm welcome and great service. As we have come to expect. We will be back again I’m sure!

Very clean and comfortable but like being on big brother as soon as we come back from work they was out of the back room unplugged phone charges as they wasnt pat tested but then plugged them in a different socket even blocked one of our numbers from calling them.

Friendly hosts, clean and comfortable room with good facilities for an overnight stay. Lovely short walk into the city centre and all attractions via the town or river.

We have just spent 3 days here for our 10th anniversary and what a great place to stay. We parked right outside and was made very welcome straight away and was also given a map with all the local attractions marked out for us. Our room was spotless and everything we needed was there, clean towels and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was very nice and set us up for the day and if we needed anything then nothing was to much trouble. Great place to stay and would highly recommend it as we will be going back. Stayed this weekend. Great location — less than 10 mins from city on foot with a nice riverside walk. Nigel and Wendy are really friendly, hotel is clean and comfortable with a really nice breakfast. Nice local pub across the road (the lighthorseman). Would recommend and will be staying again.

This is a fantastic place to stay if visiting york, nigel and wendy are very pleasnt and kind people defo worth the stay keep up the good work guys! we be back at easter.
