High recommend staying here. The views from all sides are wonderful. The service is exceptional — hotel staff cannot do enough for you… from making sure we had a spot in the car park to brining out desserts up to the room. We’ve had to ask to help with stuff we didn’t anticipate and nothing had been a problem. Every staff member we’ve spoke to genuinely seems pleased to be here and happy to help. Food was also delicious. We sat in orangery looking out to sea — bliss… with a toddler in tow!

We have been before, never stayed but absolutely love it here xx great food and a fantastic atmosphere xx just life the place xx.

We stayed here for lunch, there was a lovely friendly atmosphere, food was fantastic. Service was good too would highly recommend popping in.

= Robin hood Bay is beautiful. Food is lovely. Rooms decorated to a good standard. Some staff try their best.
= On arrival a member of staff was extremely rude in the car park.
Beef Wellington came with vegetables however the lady never brought us our vegetables.
We got told we got "the last beef wellington" yet lots of people. Got it after us.

The Victoria hotel is a perfect place to stay for Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay. The staff are really friendly and helpful. The food is delicious. The rooms are a really good size and to a good standard. We really enjoyed our stay Will definitely return next year.

Loved our stay there, the staff are so lovely, the view of the sea from our room was a bonus. We landed lucky there as they were having a mexican night, the food was really good. Great gin selection too, and they put up with our band admirably — с Sue Williams.

We only had morning coffee in the beautiful conservatory on a sunny day in October.
Service was good and friendly, coffee nice.

Great food, fantastic array of good beers… but you have missed a good selling point on your website that the bar is dog friendly… we only stumbled across it because all pubs in town were full… if you advertised you are dog friendly I am sure you would get more custom.

Amazing food and service the food is unbelievable and nothing to much trouble for the staff.

We had a family room and it was lovely with plenty of space for a travel cot for our 9month old daughter. The bathroom had a jacuzzi bath which was a nice surprise. The staff were all very polite and helpful. Breakfast was delicious and it was very kind of the kitchen to make our daughter a slice of toast after she decided she didnt want cereal that morning The location is amazing and we hope to come back and visit again next summer.

Only ever eaten here never stayed. Food is great and tasty. Staff are polite and lovely.

Me and my husband just checked out after taking our new born baby away for the night at The Victoria Hotel. We absolutely loved it! We had breakfast and an evening meal, both were beautifully cooked and a nice selection to choose from. The views are incredible, the rooms are lovely and there is a lovely selection of places to sit and enjoy within the hotel, with a bar, a tearoom, a restaurant, an orangery and the outside seating overlooking the bay to choose from. My grandparents visited and said the Sunday lunch was also very nice! Well worth another stay!

Food was amazing also staff very attentive we had superior deluxe double bedroom very spacious bathroom was lovely would recommend this hotel.

Stayed in Robin hoods bay for two nights we eat both nights in the Victoria & the food was lovely but the staff were excellent how welcoming & courteous they were, the young man behind the bar who lives in a guest house himself was so lovely thank you for a lovely two days in your establishment.

Staff are a real credit to this hotel absolutely fantastic. Just returned from brothers wedding & had a wonderful time. Beautiful venue.

Nice with good view. Daniel Day Lewis’s film the Phantom Thread was filmed here. Very hot inside on a hot day. Ok beer. Chips and garlic bread were good and came quickly. Very busy when I was there.

A surprising good place. I did not stay there so I can't comment on the rooms etc. I did, however, fall into a conversation with a couple who had been coming ~10 years and told me how wonderful it was to stay at so draw your own conclusions. I did visit the hotel on several occasions for lunch and evening meals. On all occasions the food was hot, served quickly, tasted nice and was very reasonable priced. In my opinion it serves the best meals in Robin Hoods bay.

Great Yorkshire pub. Nice homely interior, cosy atmosphere and beautiful garden area with spectacular views. Bar service is prompt although some members of staff have been rather curt on occasion, although I don't blame them considering the state of the locals and the high volume of irritating tourists. I'd say this is the best pub in Bay — although on our last visit we were greeted with the unwelcome sight of a shabby man wielding a guitar — he sang at us endlessly and wouldn't leave, then preceded to spill a pint all over my mate. Supposedly he works there.

Great sized rooms and bathrooms. Pub, restaurant, and tea room in the hotel. Beautiful view of the water from the courtyard and restaurant.

Came for the Monday night quiz. Fantastic atmosphere, very well run quiz, staff exemplary. Will. Definitely be back and will recommend.

We got married here at the end of January and could not recommend highly enough. The staff were absolutely fantastic and could not have done a better job. The food was absolutely amazing and the chef specially made a vegan menu (as well as meat and veggie) with only a couple of weeks notice. We had so many guests say how fantastic the food was and how perfect the venue is. The rooms were all lovely and the wedding coordinators made sure everything was perfect for us. So pleased we chose to get married at The Victoria.

Perfect stop after a cold day on the beach. Nice coffee and hot chocolate for the kids. There is lots of seating in the bar in back.

Lovely surroundings and friendly staff. Beautiful view from the balcony and lovely breakfast. Bar had stopped serving food when we were ready to eat (this was not well advertised).

We ordered a normal hot chocolate with whipped cream (£2.50) and the Bailey's hot chocolate (£5). The Bailey's one didn't have any cream and yet paying double seemed extortionate. Fairly nice venue but needs modernising in some ways. Big TV in the bar area is centre of attention and they're using it for advertising so it would seem that their business isn't doing too well.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our room was wonderfully spacious, clean, relaxing and well stocked with tea, coffee and daily bottles of water with stunning views. The hotel went our of their way to accommodate our dietary requirements. The food was of excellent standard, freshly cooked to perfection with generous portions. (An excellent accommodating chef) A true Yorkshire friendly warm welcome and service was given by ALL the staff. We'll definitely be visiting again :)

Quaint rooms, old but clean with suitable facilities. Staff couldn't be more helpful. Breakfasts are amazing. Food is of a Michelin star standard. Views are beautifully stunning.

Seems a nice stop for a drink after tackling the hill back up, beer was fine, views are good! Shame about the one horrible member of staff. No interest at all and to hear him slagging us off inside after asking him outside if it was possible to warm our little girls bottle up… he didn’t know what to do or say once confronted. Get rid.

Third stay. Usual excellent friendly staff. Comfortable room. Lovely food. Breakfast especially was varied. Restaurant and traditional tea room have beautiful views.

Helpful, professional staff who were also friendly. Food was high quality, reasonably priced and not too long a wait. Dogs were allowed in some parts which was also appreciated.

Had the most amazing wedding day at the Victoria, not only was it the dream location but also amazing people to work with. Nothing was a bother for the staff who looked after us and our guests from Friday evening until Sunday morning (I'm sure without sleeping)! We had room 2 which was so beautiful I didn't want to waste time sleeping and all our guests seemed happy with there's. Big thanks to Beverley and Katie and all the other amazing people at the victoria. Can't wait to come back xx.

My girlfriend and I had afternoon tea at the hotel. Staff very attentive, we had lovely sandwiches, individual cakes and or course scones. I'd recommend the afternoon tea to anyone — brilliant!

We visit the bay often and I honestly think the food gets better each time. Posh fish & chips as good as I've had in a while including the Magpie and the chicken sizzler was delicious. The view from the Victoria doesn't need words, in my opinion the best view there is in my favourite place. Can't wait to come back in October!

Had an excellent breakfast. Reasonable price and the only place in Robin Hood's Bay open before 10. Service was quick and friendly and the food was very tasty indeed.

Pub side was good. Tea room side coffee wasn't very good but have it black so not unusual. Cakes looked nice. View was nice in the beer garden.

Having not stayed at the hotel I cannot comment on the hotel experience. However, I did eat there with my family; we had breakfast. The meat items seemed to be the problem; being both hard and undercooked. Two of three of us suffered bad stomach problems, one vomited around an hour later. I reported the problem at the time; staff should little to limited concern. I then returned later that day to raise concern with the manager. The duty manager reluctantly noted the matter in the managers book and arranged a call back from the general manager for the following day to discuss my experience ; I received none. This was dispite being clear that the issue was so bad I intended to report the establishment to food standards, which I have done. Whilst I appreciate that mistakes can happen; I have three main concerns here: 1. The issue suggests food hygiene issues which although they are rated 5 are serious. 2. The staff showed no concern about the matter; instead seeming to rest on the current rating. 3. No common courtesy was show by staff in taking the matter seriously; I imagine they will only do so when contacted by the council. I hope you find this review useful; I'd recommend avoiding eating there.

We visited the hotel on 8th July for a wedding there on the Sunday 9th. We also decided to stay a further two nights. From start to finish our stay was excellent in every respect. All staff were very friendly and professional throughout our stay. The food in the bar and in the restaurant was outstanding, with no skimping on portions! The wedding ceremony, held outside went like clockwork as did the whole event. Can't praise them enough other than to say… see you again. Thank you.

We went for a cup of tea for refreshment after trekking up the hill from Robin Hood's Bay. The lady who served us was very pleasant and professional and we were served very quickly. Couldn't ask for better service.

Staff were very friendly blankets offered for sitting out side if chilly umbrella if raining. We didn't have lunch/dinner just cakes & they were lovely.

Lovely outdoor area so you can take your dog and sit and have drinks and cake with a sea view.

My husband and I cycled from whitby to Scarborough and on our way back we called in to the Victoria for refreshments. We were scruffy, sore n wet. We were made very welcome and looked after. Shown the same kind helpful service as if we're in our Sunday best :) Thankyou.

Had dinner with family of 8. Nice outside garden, that has great views and is good for families. Food was excellent quality, but somewhat pricy. Overall really nice!

We stayed at the victoria may 3 years ago as a treat for my partners birthday it is so nice, we return 3 or 4 times a year now the food s very nice although restrants a tad posh menue for us but bar foods very nice view fantastic and we alway try and get room with balcony and that make all the differance love it O and the staff and the managment carnt do enough for you Briliant.

Spent two enjoyable days here, we had room 11 on the 10th-11th August 2014 we slept well, room didn't have a view, but lovely views outside and from dining area where we enjoyed excellent breakfast and two evening meals. Staff friendly they even came in early so we could get off for our 300+ mile drive home. I have no problem in recommending this hotel.

Took advantage of the 3 for 2 special offer and had a great time. The Victoria is comfortable, warm and clean. Breakfast was very good, and the food in the restaurant in the evening is excellent. The portions were big for us, and we didn't manage to eat any of the vegetables as the main course was filling, we did just about have enough space for a pud though! We stayed in room 6 which is a corner room, kind of turret like, with amazing sea views right across Robin Hoods Bay from two of the windows. The staff were friendly, polite and helpful. Even the weather was excellent and we got a couple of good walks in straight from the hotel without moving the car from the car park! We had a fantastic experience and we will return.

Went for breakfast. The food was really nice and the views were brilliant. Also dog friendly and the staff loved our choccy lab.

Just had a two night stay (june 2012). Fantastic hotel, really great room — had moorland view. Food was excellent also stunning view from the dining room. Service was brilliant — staff extremely helpfull. They have changed owners so they must have addressed the problems mentioned in the other review. 6 real ales in the bar to choose from and none of them were £3.50 a pint. Beer garden was nice as well. If you go I recommend paying extra to go half board as it is worth it. 3 coarse evening meal all of it prepared on premises. Could have what ever you wanted from the menu and there were no surcharges. I had the steak with an optional sauce and it was included. Only slight negative is the TV in our room did not have freeview! That will have to be sorted when the analogue transmitter is switched off in September.

Enjoyed our dinner here in the beautiful beer garden which overlooks the sea. The seafood platter was plentiful (if not terribly diverse) and the salt and pepper squid on the specials menu was very nice and well cooked. Had local beer, but unfortunately I was driving so didn't get to try.
