We stayed with you last night; our second visit in a month as it is such a special place. Your staff were as friendly and helpful as ever, the room beautiful clean and the romantic 4 poster bed was so comfy. Dinner and breakfast were absolutely delicious, and all of the staff are so welcoming. The spa was great and we loved the hot tub. Anyone who has booked the November deal please please rebook, you will have an AMAZING time and want to go back again and again as we do.

I have visited Cisswood several times making use of the spa / treatments and restaurant and have also had an overnight stay. The staff are so kind and friendly and make you feel so welcome especially Stacey in the beauty salon! The food is always delicious and I thoroughly enjoy coming here and will continue to do so! I would recommend to anyone looking to visit.

Myself, Husband and our Son visited Cisswood House Hotel for lunch today. The food was nice, although the service left lots to desire. Our food arrived in a timely fashion, although then 35 mins after receiving dinner and having finished for 20+ minutes, there was no sign of our plates being collected and the next course being ordered. I went up to the bar to remind them that we were still here. Our plates were soon collected and dessert ordered. Another timely wait for 2 x brownies and a sticky toffee pudding, we were served pudding, exactly 1 hour and 2 minutes after our lunch was served. Trying to keep a 4year old occupied for this amount of time is not pleasurable, the opposite to what a lunch out should be. I also overheard 2 other complaints being made to staff during our visit there. It seems that there were only 2 members of staff to cover the restaurant and the bar area — this isn’t sufficient. I do not recommend here for families with young children, nor if you are looking for a quick lunch (by quick I mean 1.5 hours or less. We were there for 2 hours and I’m glad to be home after our visit)

Had the best Sunday lunch ever at cisswwood. Lovely waiter. £25.00 for 3 course meal. Salmon starter delicious roast beef amazing & chocolate brownie to die for. Will definitely be returning. Thank you so much.

Had the best weekend here staff were amazing and so down to earth very helpful and friendly rooms are beautiful and spacious meals were outstanding and plentiful all in all great value for money would do it again and would highly recommend this to anyone who asks.

We had the most amazing stay here as part of a 30th birthday celebration, the staff are amazing and can’t do enough to help you, we had a lovely treatment at the spa, the hotel has such a lovely cosy atmosphere, and the Christmas decorations and Christmas music just added a lovely touch, the food was also lovely. I highly recommend coming here and we will be back.

A great hotel with very friendly, helpful staff. A nice gym, pool and sauna which is very rarely busy. It’s also in a lovely location with beautiful gardens and the food is superb.

Myself and friend had a spa day at Cisswood house. It was awful wouldn't recommend at all, what a let down. Treatments mediocre, pool and changing rooms dirty, razor and hair in shower cubicles, dirt in pool. Lunch awful and expensive. Feedback given at the end of the day. Receptionist who was helpful at the time, ensured us someone would contact regarding our complaint. Unfortanetly no one has, obviously don't care about customer service or feedback.
It was a real shame as was hoping for a lovely day for my friend who has had a very tough year.
This does not compare to other spa days, treatments, lesiure facilities experienced in the past. Awful. Avoid.

Brought my friend here for afternoon tea for her birthday, from the moment we got there the experience was poor, no staff around and basically had to look after ourselves!
Eventually when we were served we ordered afternoon tea for 2.
Once the food came, we had to ask again for our tea!
The bread was stale, we had half a sandwich each, 2 scones with watery jam, what looked like shop bought cakes that when tasted were disgusting.
Nobody came to check in on us at all! Most of the food was left there!
One we left again there was no staff around, when we paid we were not asked if everything was ok! Literally just paid through the noise for the worst experience ever!
The only positive thing is their is a McDonalds on the way home!

Me and my now husband from last Saturday, had a lovely wedding on 22/06/2019. The ceremony was perfect especially due to the fantastic weather but also the red carpet made it a fabulous entrance. The surroundings were beautiful and would definitely recommend an outside wedding here. The party then carried on inside which was beautifully laid out and the right amount of space for our party of 50 people. The staff were lovely and helped make our day special. My only criticism is that me and my husband had to keep going to find the toastmaster to see when they were announcing parts of the day during the reception. Overall it was a lovely day and our guests commented on how wonderful it was, we also got an amazing package deal that was definitely worth every penny so thank you xxx.

Busy lives (work & family) and needed a rest. Booked by Amy on reception, who was polite, helpful and attentive.
We had a lovely stay. Comfortable beds. Nice pool & sauna for added relaxation.
Grounds were stunning. Well kept and full of wildlife.
There was a wedding going on, but we heard no noise or disruption.
We slept so well, we missed breakfast. …

Had a fabulous afternoon tea at this atmospheric country house hotel. Very attentive service, delicious food and gorgeous grounds to stroll around and enjoy afterwards. Have enjoyed various events at this lovely hotel including hosting 2 christenings and a wedding reception. Never disappointed as the staff/chef always deliver when it comes to service and quality of food.

We got married here on the 9th of March 2019 this place is fantastic. We couldn't fault the wedding coordinator Nicky she has been so helpful throughout the whole experience. On the day all staff were amazing very friendly and helpful. Tony our toast master was great very friendly and helpful on arrival. All the food and facilities were fantastic we couldn't have asked for a better venue our wedding day was perfect.

I host monthly dinners at the Cisswood House Hotel, and return on a twice monthly basis. This includes dinner only events and stay over events. We have been using this hotel for many years. I find the team always helpful and accommodating, and we very much enjoy the care and attention from the team. The food is lovely, and nothing is ever too much trouble. A big thank you from myself and those that join me at our dinners.

I love this place, I have had four pamper days here, and the last one yesterday was courtesy of the hotel staff and Stacy in the spa as our previous visit had been disrupted by a power cut. They did t have to give us a free day, bar the lunch, but they did. Brilliant customer relations, fabulous staff too. I cannot wait to come back. And may well be back to the spa treatment centre, Stacy does a lovely facial, and my friend is so pleased with her nails! Well done to the staff for friendly service! X.

I would agree with others here that the main positive is the friendly staff, who were happy to help throughout my stay. A group of us stayed here for a wedding close by, the hotel was busy as they also had a wedding on site. If we'd paid the £75 most sites seem to suggest is the 'stays from' price, I would have been happy with my visit. Unfortunately we paid more than double this, not including breakfast which would have been another £18.50 each, and it just was not worth it. As many mention the hotel is extremely dated, and could do with some money spent on it to spruce the place up. The room and bathroom were large, but the bed was hard and needed replacing. I'd consider your booking before paying more than £90 for a stay here.

Dated, worn furnishings, pool / spa area not clean and not where you would be happy relaxing for any length of time. Room was too hot to sleep in, bed was pocket sprung and hard. Dinner and breakfast were nice, staff polite and friendly, but I wouldn't recommend this hotel as it needs a refurb to make it nicer and more relaxing to be in.

Really enjoyed our stay. Stayed over a week here. Good facilities with a pool and gym. Bar was OK though no proper beer available at all. Only cider and lager. Really enjoyed the food. And the garden in the warm weather was a great bonus. Spent every evening outside until sun went down. Reception were really good. Very efficient and friendly. Helped me out when I needed some copying done. Thanks to all the staff for everything during our stay.

A personal and sincere thank you to the manager at Cisswood House, Nicky Hayward. This morning we were in absolute turmoil with only 1 week to go we had no venue to host our wedding reception due to the terrible fire that broke out at Cottesmore yesterday afternoon. When meeting you we had all our worries taken away with your reassurance and comfort. Within minutes you fixed everything and we still can’t quite believe how lucky we are. Cisswood House is an all round beautiful venue with an amazing team. You are an absolute gem and a true asset to the Cisswood family. They are very lucky to have you. Rob and I can’t wait to celebrate next Friday with our family and friends. Thanks for making our dream wedding become a reality again!

It was beautiful. We went to close friends wedding. Little pricey on the drinks. But gorgeous setting. Staff were polite n helpful, attended to bride groom n guests very well.

Do not go here! It is absolutely horrible, dirty, the ‘spa’ is tiny with a cheap and dirty jacuzzi, mould everywhere, the pool is tiny with cheap plastic sun loungers with no cushions, gym is ok at first glance but actually the machines are rusty and dirty and never wiped down, food was dreadful, our starters were frozen and main courses uncooked, we walked out! The whole hotel is dated and dirty and needs a hell of a lot of TLC! Our room had several dust webs, spiders and filth I couldn’t be more disappointed.

Lovely rooms very traditionally decorated. The food was very nice with great parking on site. It's got a very nice feel to the hotel also and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Had a lovely two night break with my other half. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and well presented. We walked into our room and found rose petals on the bed and two towels made into swans. A really lovely touch! Dinner was nice but more option would of better as all starters were vegetarian. The only thing that really annoyed us was not actually the hotels fault at all but I will say if you are thinking of needing a taxi to travel to the local restaurant forget it. They wanted £40 return for a 4 minute drive. Like I say that's nothing to do with the hotel other than once you are there you will need to drive if you wish to go out. Overall a really relaxing time away.

Had a fantastic stay with 4 girlfriends. Chilled in the spa in the day and had the yummiest dinner! I'm vegan so usually end up with salad, but they went out of their way to whip me up a special 3 course dinner which was possibly the best ive ever had eating out. Massive breakfast selection too. Well done Cisswood house! Thank you.

Very nice we used the swimming pool, sauna and hot tub under £10 to use we live near and alot quieter than the main swimming pool.

Made a mistake going for a spa treat and afternoon tea on Christmas eve. The spa was fine though very basic. The afternoon tea was a disaster. Stale cakes and some shop bought. The scones also stale were served with a mustard flavoured butter for some strange reason plus a watery red jam and lemon curd, no cream. Totally inedible. Fortunately we weren't that hungry but as we could only eat the sandwiches they were the most expensive sandwiches we have ever had. No management available to complain to and a letter written afterwards totally ignored. We will not be going back.

It was amazing. Every one was so welcoming and also easy to talk to. They also like a challenge. The prices are cheaper than anywhere else we have seen. I loved it all and felt at ease with every one there also always on hand to talk to you. If I could have my wedding tomorrow it would be there! as you also have the opportunity to have a outside wedding depending upon the weather. 10 out of 10

Wouldn't stay here again. Room was small. And the bathroom was dirty, used cotton bud on the side. And floor needed going over with a mop as previous guests hairs were about. Bed was comfy though, staff where friendly at check in and out. Shower was powerful. Internet was ok as well.

Stayed as overnight guest, nice location, ample parking. Room very comfortable, modern and spacious, bath tub in bathroom. Okay gym with good selection of equipment (a little bit dated) making the best of the space available. Pool, sauna and jacuzzi okay, pity their was no steam room or showers in pool area. Overall leisure facilities would benefit from some investment. Staff friendly and helpful. Reasonably priced, would definitely consider stopping over again. Well done.

Went for a work Christmas party. The food was okay, the vegetables with the main and the Christmas sponge being the best part. Didn't stay overnight so can't comment on the rooms.

This place is an absolute dream. The food is out of this world. The staff are so kind and great to talk to. Go and see for yourself you will love the whole experience.

I liked this place. The settling was tranquil, the flora in the fall was nice. The building is architecturally interesting. It was comfortable and cozy. Breakfast was very good, eggs were free range. Everything tasted fresh & the bacon was excellent quality. This place had some eccentricity about it. Yes, this place is dated a bit, not in a 70's style dated but almost in a time way before that, making it kind of a cool experience. Old fashioned keys for the locks, and somewhat of a weathered look of the buildings outside & interiors. However, it was very comfortable with fresh clean linens, a good selection of quality toiletries, towel warmers, good selection of teas & coffee provided in suite. The staff were mostly accommodating, and the wait staff excellent. If coming from the US expect to step back in time a bit, and enjoy the experience. An indoor pool & gym are a nice touch as well. Also, it does have a little spa, along with waxing and nail services offered for both sexes.

I went for a facial in the treatment rooms. It was lovely. The rooms were so relaxing the staff very friendly and the treatment amazing.

Nice setting, decent size rooms, and a tasty breakfast. The rooms were however very warm, despite the windows being wide open, no heating on, and just a typical September night. Would stay again if I needed a room in that part of the country.

Only stayed here for one night but the hotel staff were lovely and the sauna was a life-saver, especially after the nearby tough mudder! There was a wedding going in at the same time which looked lovely so suits many occassions.

Got a great secret escapes deal to stay here. Booked several treatments and had dinner and breakfast included.
The massage wasn't quite as long as stated but this didn't bother me as she had already done a good enough job, the dinner was great, my fiancé had the salmon which was large and well cooked and seasoned. My steak was cooked ever so slightly over the medium that I had requested but still tasted great, also would add that I opted for the set menu option and all 3 courses I was served were very large and tasted great. (£15 for all 3 courses).
The room was fantastic, we had one of the four poster bed setups, few little cracked bits of paint here and there on the walls and one of the plug sockets had seen better days but other than that I loved the room. The big bulky fire doors was slammed shut in the night but some other less than considerate residents but that couldn't have been helped.
Breakfast was a good buffet setup, the sausages and bacon seemed of good quality and the muffins were delicious!
All the staff were very pleasant, even the one girl who appeared to be on her first day. Would definitely recommend/stay here again.
Possibly even book our wedding here.

Menu very limited and the room that we had was pretty much bog standard even tho it was an upgraded room! lovely grounds (could be better if they groundsmen tidied the walk ways and cleared the paths) and even just spent a little more keeping the grounds. Staff very helpful and polite. Cleanliness of the rooms are to an average standard too. As dust was seen in many areas. Also bathroom just misses that final sparkle. But enjoyed our stay never the less.

Taking a family group of 15 ranging from 6 weeks old to 86 out for Sunday lunch is never an easy chalenge. Wanting something a bit special that would cater for us all is neigh on impossible. So it was with a bit of apprehension that we booked a table at Cisswood House. We have been there a few times over the last 31 years since our wedding night and hoped that their assurances that we would have enough space and that the children would eat free were justified. We shouldn't have worried. There was plenty of space for 3 prams around our large table and all the staff were very courteous, patient and accommodating. There was no children's menu just supposedly "smaller" portions from the main menu. All the food was of a very high standard and everyone enjoyed their meals. Our request to move out into the garden for deserts & coffee was met with a no problem attitude and by the time we got there they had already set a large table ready for us. The children enjoyed running around the beautiful garden while the adults enjoyed a relaxing family time. We were never rushed and every request was quickly attended to. Were.

Ordered a gluten free afternoon tea, came out on separate plates, no tier like everyone else which was the first disappointment. Rolls were nice, but cakes where clearly shop brought! I know this as a fact, as I had recently eaten the so called 'scones' a couple of days before, which were in fact chocolate chips buns made by a company called schär. The chocolate shortbread, again clearly shop brought. Waitress helpful, but do not expect to pay £20 for food I could have easily brought at the supermarket!

Beautiful, clean and very quiet hotel. Such a lovely little find hidden away. Breakfast is lovely and sadly we didn't get to see the spa. Comfy bed and free car park a bonus.

My Sister and I booked the hen party package for our mum as a surprise hen do for her and cannot recommend it enough! In the package, we had afternoon tea, a 2 course meal, an overnight stay, breakfast, a treatment and use of the leisure facilites all for a great price! All the staff were very friendly and accomadating for us. We would 100% recommend to anyone!

Had a very lovely stay here for a weekend break. The service was very attentive and the gardens were beautiful. Overall had a great time and will be back.

Stayed here for one night with my girlfriend. The building and grounds are nice and has quite a cosy feel to the place with real lit fires near the bar and dining area. The staff were all very friendly and helpful also. The food was ok/good for what we paid with a dinner/breakfast/bed package. To really bring this place up to scratch it needs a good thorough clean and a lick of paint, especially the pool and changing rooms which are both run down and were not what I would regard as clean. Horsham is a lovely place to visit so I recommend heading into town for lunch.

Myself and a friend have just returned from a so called "spa break" at this hotel. Whilst reasonably priced, it was very dis-appointing indeed. The "serendipity treatment centre" was closed for our duration, and in order to book a treatment the lady who runs it has to be contacted at home by grudging reception staff in order to arrange for her to come in. The swimming pool is very small compared to most hotel pools, and closes at 21.15. Which is somewhat early. There is a sauna within the pool area and the Jacuzzi is nothing more than a garden hot tub, with two rickety steps up to it. But as the area closes so early none of these facilities are usable in the evenings. During the afternoon we were told that the pool was being used for children's swimming lessons! Being so tiny there was no room for us aswell! The changing room left alot to be desired and the showers were far from clean. The gym was well equipped, but that also closed at 21.00. Without being able to use the facilities for much of our short stay, I can hardly recommend this to anyone as a SPA BREAK! Whilst our room was clean, I drew the curtains in the evening and I was left holding a piece of the material in my hand, as they fell apart, they were so old! The staff are miserable, and the place is so quiet we felt like intruders. Would I recommend this place to anyone? Certainly not.

If you would like a quiet weekend away, surrounded by beautiful countryside in a traditional hotel then I can not recommend this enough. Our room was upgraded, it had great views out onto the grounds, the room was clean, the bathroom was bright and spotless and all the staff were polite and willing to help. All the food we had was absolutely delicious and the service we received was impeccable, including the information and assistance I received when booking direct with the hotel.

The decor was traditional as suited a country house hotel. The staff were attentive, friendly and efficient, they couldn't have been better. The leisure facilities were good and well maintained. Breakfast was good and well presented. We had two excellent evening meals in the main hotel restaurant. I would return to this hotel again.

I recently stayed at this hotel for 2 nights on business. The actual rooms and ammenities were OK but the main gripe I had was with the staff. The dining room staff were so miserable! On arrival at first breakfast, the waitress walked past me twice, blanking me completely. I approached her and asked if it was OK to sit anywhere. The response was an affirmative grunt and a look that said 'what a ridiculous question'! I had cereal and after 10 minutes I decided to ask if I could have some tea and toast as no offers were forthcoming. Self service cooked breakfast was a nightmare with cold plates, ageing fried eggs and greasy serving cutlery with missing handles. Dinner with a colleague cost £80 for 3 courses each and a shared bottle of house red. The food, wine and service were all well below average, even for a meal that would cost half of this amount. My room access card, and that of my colleague, failed on return to our rooms. A long wlak back to reception was greeted by a grumpy reception girl who gave no explanation or apology for the incident, re-set the cards and thrust them back at us over the counter. Oh dear, we won't be back.
