Clean room 👌 good menu lovely food and very friendly and helpful staff.

Really enjoyed my stay at the altens. Beautiful reception area and staff are extremely helpful. The rooms are lovely my only complaint and it’s not major is that the rooms window doesn’t open out far enough as there is a safety bolt on it! There is also a chain on the wardrobe door which isnt handy at all. Staff in the bar and restaurant are also extremely helpful. As there is no fridge in the room either I went to the bar and asked for some ice as nothing worse than drinking warm juice and alcohol lol 😂 food was also amazing and plenty options of food for the buffet breakfast. The only other slight complaint which is more disappointment than anything else was that after a day out in the city of Aberdeen once back at the hotel which was still early afternoon there was a sign up saying that the pool and therefore the other facilities such as jacuzzi etc were also closed. So fine went back to room went and checked a wee while later and it was still up, this time however checked when it might be available only to be told that even though the full sign was up it was staying up even though there was only 4 people in the pool! It’s a first come first served policy however the sign remained up as they were expecting a few families down there! One of the main reasons I booked this hotel was because I could use these facilities. You can’t book the pool so if you want to use it your options are use it before breakfast!

Not allowed to check in before 15.00.? This was said to us at the reception, in a very direct manner. Basically, we were sent away. We were not allowed to enter the bar because we had no restaurant reservation.? We only wanted a few drinks. My kids were not allowed in the swimming pool because it was full. The place looks like a prison and the staff makes you feel like an inmate. I cannot wait to leave this place. Do yourself a favour and book a room somewhere else. I have stayed in many hotels all over the world, but this place is definitely on the bottom of my list.

Lovely environment and been renovated to high standard. Food excellent and staff all friendly. Have to say though that service is unbelievably slow. Been here several times and always waiting a long time after ordering to get served.

I stayed in the Altens Hotel in Aberdeen with my Mum from Saturday to Monday and it was lovely nice staff. Swimming pool, Health suite and snoozer was good. It was great they did a Starbucks coffee inside too. The breakfast was great my favorite bit in the breakfast was the patoutue scan and Bacon. The hotel for dinner was good I had the soup of the day for my starter and spicy pepperoni pizza for my Main course and for my pudding I had the banana waffle and kapbeerb Achole free and they made a brilliant Starbucks coffee Hot chocolate. The shops in Aberdeen are good and Aberdeen is so big there is lots to see. We both come from Motherwell and it took me and my Mum 3 hours to get here by driving but it was a nice drive. Thanks again for the stay staff yous were brilliant. The shower was brilliant too and the TV it had lots of channel's and radio stations and confay chairs and a kettle to make normal tea.

4 star Hotel, lovely rooms, great food and facilities. Attentative staff.

Having stayed here a few times over years I have always found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. The rooms have always been very clean and spacious. The food within the bar has always been very good and again I had the breakfast menu.

Beautiful hotel, great food and fantastic leisure facilities. I would highly recommend this hotel to stay.

Just back from a 2 night stay and will definitely be returning! Beautiful hotel with lovely helpful staff. Breakfast was amazing with a great selection to choose from and the pool and spa was excellent my kids just absolutely loved it!

Lovely night away with our children, staff are very attentive and friendly in the hotel. This was evident from booking, check in and during our stay. The room was spotless and great size for the 4 of us. Food in the restaurant was really good, and despite the restaurant being really busy, we didn’t wait any length of time for our food or drinks.

Had a 2 night stay, room was really nice, was good to have use of pool and steam room, food at coast and keg was really nice, good bar prices, friendly staff and a very good breakfast, would definitely visit again.

Twice we have stayed here. But last night was the worse. Someone was kicking the doors in the hallway and kids running about we did let reception know as we checked out tho they said they were not aware of it. Even tho we had spoke to a few other guests on way down to breakfast could not report it via room fone as it was not working. So dnt tin k we wu be in a hurry to go back. Breakfast was good but cold.

Great place, we have stayed here on a few occasions and it's always been great.

My son wanted a hotel with a pool for his 8th birthday. Altens Hotel out did themselves, our room door had a birthday banner and inside a very thoughtful birthday card. It made his day. We enjoyed the most amazing meal in the newly refurbished restaurant. The meal was one of the best we have had in a long time. The pool was just lovely. And breakfast was the best. We have stayed a lots of hotels in Scotland and altens is by far the best. The service and staff are all so lovely and helpful. Thanks again the McRobbs.

Great wee pool, steam & jacuzzi. Room was clean & spacious.
Food: Prawns, grilled piri piri chicken, spicy bean burger & chilli con carni all lovely, the beer battered fish was disappointing as it was soggy. Service & staff were all very helpful and attentive. Had a great time here, just a pity the hotel doesn't have a good view.
Would highly recommend.

3rd stay of the year in this hotel. The rooms are huge & accommodate 2 travel cots with ease!

Great to have the swimming pool back open. Had a lovely swim followed by an even lovelier lunch with Tracey providing outstanding service as usual. She remembered my son and chatted away to him, asking him what he liked and wanted to order. He was over the moon to order for himself. Food was tasty but it really is Tracey who makes the place that bit special. She's so attentive and thoughtful.

Great service, and they have contuinually provided a great value and quality solution to my requirement to overnight in Aberdeen, as a key worker.

We enjoyed a delicious 2 course meal in your restaurant last night. The service provided by Liam was excellent. He was very friendly and attentive. Will definitely be back soon.

Booked for Xmas eve but sure we will be back again before that.

Recently visited the Coast and Keg restaurant for lunch and drinks. The staff make you feel welcome and safe. Service was great as was the food. Good value and a great selection of gin! Would recommend a visit as the new refurbishments make the place look great. I will be back again soon.

Coast and Keg offers great food and the service is friendly and attentive. Went there today — the 3rd time this week (! ) with a friend and when she says a whole meal was often too much we were offered two smaller potions of fish and chips by Tracey our friendly waitress. Liam our waiter was attentive regularly asking if we needed drinks etc. Ann Marie delivered our food and offered condiments to go with our meals then came back to ask if our food was ok. I’ve been once a week for the last 4/5 weeks and 3 times this week for different reasons. The food and service has been consistently good. That’s a good indicator of a good place to eat I find cause so many places nowadays can’t offer this depending on what staff is on or how busy the restaurant is. Can I mention the soups — I’ve had the mushroom and the lentil my friend had Broccoli and cheddar — we both agreed they were the best we have tasted in town! Thanks to the chef, Tracey, Liam and Ann Marie for great food and service. X.

Went for lunch, choose to go for the Christmas menu. Can highly recommend, food was delicious and very good price for the 3 courses. Bar staff are very friendly.

Lovely well organised hotel. Everything spotless n staff very friendly and extremely helpful.

Room lovely comfy bed. Pool was rather busy and ran out of towels but that was a quick run up to room. Replacement towels for room delivered very quickly once we had been to reception. Staff as friendly as always disappointed in information regarding booking for dinner no you didn’t have to… so wrong then to be informed by a member of staff it had been like this the whole day. Communication is a big part of a successful business! Then the fire alarms disgusted that people just thought to come down in the lift up to ten minutes of alarm going off!
The staff did there best but not handing out space blankets to those in dressing gowns, elderly or young children who were just in pjs. Will stay here again as it is one of the friendliest hotels with fab food. Chicken and chorizo pasta is a must.

Very friendly and helpful reception staff rooms are fantastic very comfy bed had a great nights sleep warm and comfortable and a great price too love this hotel ❤️ hence the reason this was our fourth return.

We have attended lots of functions at this hotel absolutely love their tribute nights. My daughter's hen party held here. Staff are brilliant. We always stay over even though we live in Aberdeen 20 mins away.

My works christmas party was here. The food was really lovely and the staff were well organised really good night would come back again. Wow the christmas tree it's huge and stunning.

Stayed last night for our anniversary. We got a free upgrade and a lovely surprise of banners and rose petals. Very nice touch. Lovely spacious room, very comfy bed and great powerful room. Clean hotel and friendly staff. Highly recommend and all at a great price.

Absolutely love this hotel, my daughter and I normally go with best friends Pauline and Ian. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly, the accommodation fantastic, food delicious and the price is very affordable. Have been 5/6 times and can't wait to go back. The spa and leisure facilities are excellent.

My new husband I couldn’t have picked a better hotel for our honeymoon. We’ve been home for a few weeks but are still telling our friends about each aspect of our stay (from breakfast, to supper and everything in between). We especially appreciated how great Zoe, Sarah, Carly, and Ashleigh were during our stay. Thank you all so much! We cannot wait to go back to the beautiful Granite City and stay at the Altens.

Fantastic hotel! Stayed here for the weekend with my family (wife and 2 girls) as we got a deal. Great facilities including swimming pool, sauna, steam room, changing rooms with showers and a fully equipped gym. There is also a hair salon and beauty treatment room. The rooms are very spacious and have comfortably beds and good bathrooms. We had dinner which was good and the breakfast was the best I've had in a long time. Lots to choose. Will definitely come back if we travel to Aberdeen in the future.

Can't fault the hotel itself at all. Excellent value for money and great facilities. Staff brilliant too! 4 starts only due to the restaurant kitchen getting sloppier every time I visit. Food becoming very inconsistent and needs improvement. But overall still good quality.

Stayed here last night with my husband, couldnt fault the hotel, pleasant staff at reception when we checked in, and out, gave us all the info we needed. Nice wee bar where we enjoyed a pint of stella, then back to our room as it had been a long day, very long drive from our home in dumfriesshire, had booked the altens hotel in advance to save the long journey back home. Ordered room service, the food was delicious! And generous portion, a few drinks in the room, relaxing on a very large comfortable bed, spotlessly clean and a nice message left from houskeeping on the notepad hoping we enjoy our stay, I thought it was a lovely gesture! Bathroom was smaller than others weve seen but again, spotless and modern and decent shower,, then the breakfast this morning! Certainly one of the best weve had, good selection at the hot buffet! Haggis and black pudding included which is a gold star for us Wouldnt think twice about staying here again, and would recommend to friends, thanks very much.

Was there for a wedding and it was great. The staff were friendly and helped us out in any way they could. Nice joint!

Doesn't look much from outside but lovely inside, great food and great for jumping on the bus to town. By a day ticket on the bus as it works out cheaper than buying a single even if you are only going there and back. Would definitely stay again.

Great hotel, plenty of parking. Easy to travel by bus into centre of Aberdeen. Staff friendly and helpful. Great aminities, free internet all over the hotel. Good swimming pool, small warm and informal as the hotel is. Food good value and is well presented and and delisious Definitely be back.

My self and my wife had our wedding at the hotel on Saturday and I can honestly say I can’t thank the hotel enough for everything that they did through the whole weekend! The rooms were fantastic, the food was fantastic. The whole day on Saturday ran like clockwork and we were kept right every step of the way! The comments we have received alone of how great the day was overall even from non hotel guests tell it’s own story! Would highly recommend even for just a nights stay! Absolutely fantastic experience! 10/10

I have been here a few times its really nice inside staff are all friendly swimming pool perfect with Jacuzzi steam room & sauna I really enjoy going here will be going back soon its spotless & food is great.

Nice staff. Clean cosy rooms. Sauna, pool and Jacuzzi. Only issue was a leak from upstairs bathroom into our room.

Lovely hotel would recommend to anyone. It was only a flying visit unfortunately we were up for training at petrofac which is just around the corner. Very comfortable rooms with bath and shower. Very nicely made up and extremely comfortable beds. If staying in Aberdeen again in the near future I'd be happy to stay again.

Couldn't fault the staff, very helpful indeed throughout all areas of the hotel. Hotel facilities were fantastic, lovely hotel, great rooms, very area etc and leisure facilities were amazing. Jx.

Second stay at the Altens Hotel. Had the large quad room again. Very comfortable even for four of us. The stay was only slightly marred by the room not being serviced after our second night. We got clean towels etc on request. We stay here as it has a pool that my daughter enjoys. Breakfast is the usual cooked offering with a cold buffet and cereal etc. It was fine.

Great service, polite staff and clean rooms. Loved the concept of 7am to 9am hotel bus that drops customers in offices in Altens area. I changed to City Center hotel after a week for a change but right after a day, I returned back to the hotel for another two weeks thanks to the comfort. It's a little cold out there though than City Center as it's windy and the coast beside but serene and nice. Lovely spread for breakfast buffet as well.

This is our second stay at the Altens and we can't recommend it highly enough. We had a gorgeous suite style room with a small kitchen area, lovely bathroom with shower and bath and a large bedroom area with table and chairs, sofa and sideboard with a good sized TV. The spa area is lovely with Jacuzzi, pool, sauna and steamroom and the hotel also has a gym. We had breakfast both days which is buffet style and plenty to chose from. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the hotel just has a lovely atmosphere about it that welcomes you the moment you walk through the door. We had a lovely relaxing stay and will most definitely be back and wouldn't hesitate to recommend to family and friends.

It is an old but large hotel on the edge of downtown Aberdeen.
Without charms, the rooms are clean and spacious but they date a bit. Very comfortable bedding on the other hand.
There is a swimming pool, a spa (ditto without really charms) and a sports room if you want to relax.
We didn't have the opportunity to try the breakfast or the restaurant. You have a pub also within the hotel to quench your thirst.

An excellent hotel to stay in. Meals can be a bit expensive though. We always use this hotel when in the area. Very comfotable.

Comfortable with nice rooms. Friendly charming staff who were very helpful. Hotel gym was good and had classes (boxercise was tough! ) Excellent food at restaurant and breakfast was a good solid fry up with some healthier options too.

I am a Global Trainer for an Oil and Gas Service Company. I conducted training in one of the conference rooms. I was very pleased with the room and the service provided by the staff. Kennau and Shannon were our service providers. Their good nature and attentiveness led to an outstanding experience. I would recommend the Altens Hotel for your next training event.

A very priceworthy stay. The Leisure Club is good. Breakfast is good but you have to pay extra for e. G. Cappucchino, Latte Macchiato.
Our room was big but not very tidy. We had many hairs on the couch which belonged to an animal (cat or dog) which aren't allowed.

We are here at present we have been here since 30th dec. Can't fault it rooms are great with a fridge very spacious. I am here with a group of ten 2 boys age 11 and 12. Wi-Fi has been great no problems we connected to Aberdeen altens not open one and had no problems. Food at breakfast is good chef serving food is the most friendliest chef ive met. Swimming facilities great pool a bit small but okay steam room sauna and Jacuzzi. All staff have been great cant fault.

Very nice hotel. Check in took a little while. I was a bit concerned by the marks on the door and frame of our room but overall very good.

Big hotel with comfortable rooms, food in the bar was good, breakfast as expected, plenty parking and good access, a bit out of town but worth a visit, I got an upgrade and the room was huge with good facilities.

Having a lovely stay at the Altens hotel l. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Lovely clean facilities and not too far from the city centre. Stayed here before and would stay again.

Didn't look much from outside but is nice inside. Bedrooms are ideal but I found the bed really hard and didn't sleep well. Meals are very good with a good choice.

Great indoor pool. Great location if you want to stay just outside the city (10 minute drive away). Well laid out rooms.

The staff at reception were very friendly and helpful — I had a few hours to kill each night and they recommended some walks for me to take advantage of the beautiful weather. The room was clean and comfortable and more than suitable for business purposes. I ate dinner in the bar — I had primavera pasta with a grilled smoked salmon fillet and it was really good. There was a decent selection of dishes. Breakfast was very good also with a selection of got and cold self-served options. All in all a comfortable and relaxing couple of nights.

Lovely hotel and friendly staff! Only stayed for the 1 night but it was busy but staff still took time to welcome me and couldn't be more friendly. The room was spacious and spotless… bathroom was nice and clean and roomy also. I settled down in the restaurant and was spoilt for choice just what to choose… in the end I plumped for the steak/bacon and cheese and I chose a great choice… it's quite simply the best and tastiest burger I've eaten and was delicious. I had a great night's sleep in the bed which was comfy and huge. In the morning I sadly missed the breakfast … but grabbed a couple of free coffees at reception before starting my shift! 10/10

Great rooms, large and clean. Bar is ok, restaurant is pretty good. Attentive staff. Well located if you have business in Altens. A short taxi ride if you want to get into town.

The hotel has a good pool with steam room, sauna, spa and gym. The breakfast is fine with a pleasant restaurant for evening meal or you can use the bar if you prefer. Bedrooms are good with large beds. All nice and clean.

Recently become a member of leisure facilities. Could not praise the staff enough, incredibly approachable and helpful. The changing area could do with a going over but thats the only negative.

The hotel is well placed for those visiting the companies based in the Altens area. There is ample parking. There are good gym facilities that are open to and popular with nonresident s.

My cousin was married yesterday at the Aberdeen Altens Hotel, the whole day was absolutely perfect in every way! From being greeted by staff in a very friendly comforting manner, catered greatly for all the children, we were even allowed the family's dog into the hotel for photograph's and the food was spot on great flavours beautifully cooked! All the staff were great too and extremely helpful. 100% recommend this hotel for any event business or pleasure.

Rip off! Paid to attend a New Years ball, that was not a ball at all. Messed up my meal and was a disorganised night with only 80's disco music. Compalined and it took over 2 weeks and 3 different ways compalining in to get a response. Bad customer service.

Looks 'industrial' on the outside but really lively instead. Don't judge a book by its cover. Excellent facility, however the pool area is very small. Lovely food and good value for Aberdeen. Would visit again.

Had been to Thistle Altens last Feb, 2012, Service was superb, excellent and accomodating staff and very good ammenities, looking forward to comeback :).

We will 100% return to this Hotel in special for his fantastic Menu.

Had a group booking for my sons wedding {24/25th June 2010}. 8rooms. We would like to thank everyone very much indeed, everyone was so helpful, they couldnt do enough to help us all. The rooms were lovely clean and tidy, Breakfast was exellant and staff were lovely. The children loved the swimming pool Some of our guests even stayed an extra night. We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone, and we will certainly be back to stay. We also took the bus service into town which was very good took us right into the centre.
