Happy Hour Sunday to Thursday 4pm to 6pm, friendly staff.

Plates were small the beef was thick lots of gristle. Not tasty at all not worth the money we left our food £61. Never go there again.

Nice little hotel good dinner and lush omelette for brekkie.

We only ate here. The food was lovely and plentiful. The Covid 19 restrictions were well adhered too. The staff were very professional and helpful. We will go again while we are here.

We had a lovely meal there this evening in the very comfortable dining room. I don't eat gluten and they were so willing to accommodate my needs. Excellent food and not too expensive
The Ladies' toilet walls are covered in sheet music. What a great idea! As a musician, I could have studied the walls for hours!

Highly recommend the bell burger ive had some good burgers in my time but nothing compares to the bell burger very good indeed.

Great pub — Keep their jaegermeister in the fridge — always s good sign.

The Bell is a clean, airy, Pub and restaurant, strategically located near the Suffolk coast. Saxmundham must have some history, but it is a fairly parochial town with a busy main road and locals to match. Although, it is well served by Waitrose and Tesco, expect to drive out for an evening.

Lovely staff. Really good tasty food. And a decent amount too. Definitely recommend, and would visit again!

It's difficult to pin this place down. We've had good meals — the "tapas" was outstanding — and poor ones. The dining rooms lack atmosphere and the bar is disappointing. In a town with no good pubs, this could be made so much more attractive.

Lovely staff, very attentive and tried hard
Hotel is basic and eclectic which is a nice change to corporate chains. A few small changes would make this excellent for me including spending a little money on back yard, having clean cycle storage and attention to detail for breakfast such as plates big enough for toast and generally tidying up dining room. I wonder if this hotel is the poor relative to the southwold hotel?

Perfect stay and location for roving the Suffolk coastline. Room service, facilities, breakfast and 1 evening meal faultless, meal ingredients clearly locally sourced, staff encountered were all helpful and friendly. Will return again!

Saxmundham may not be the first place you would think to go for a meal but it's worth the trip, it's very clean, the service was spot on and the food excellent.

Myself and the wife went for dinner last Friday and the food was exceptional. The wife's Lobster Bisque Risotto was to die for. Never ever take it off the menu.

Visited here for an early dinner on a Saturday. The place is nicely decorated in a quite modern style. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Three real ales were on tap at the time. The usual selection of Gins & Wines etc were also available. The food was top class, you can see by the photo's. A great early dinner when visiting Saxmundham. Will visit again.

Used a Groupon voucher and had lunch. Excellent food and service. I will definitely be going back. Highly recommended.

My wife and I stopped 2 nights over the weekend as a base for house hunting in the area. Got the deal with Groupon at half price. Lovely little hotel with friendly staff, good food and clean room. Will stop again in the future at full price.

Basically it’s excellent. Food was superb. Staying in the area for work and it’s the best place we’ve found to eat. Good bar and friendly staff.

Had lunch at bell it was awful waitress just plonked food down never bothered asking us during meal if everything ok only one other diner so she wasn't rushed of her feet bery disappointed.

Walked down after booking a table for an evening meal, staff polite and steak night on Thursdays very good value. Will be popping in there again sometime.

Had lunch here which was fresh and hot and delicious. Staff made us feel welcome with our small grandchildren.

Great room great food staff were really friendly. Comfortable bed and the food had an individual slant that took it to a higher level. Breakfasts good and evening menu was great with generous portions. Well worth the money.

Great looking building, well presented inside, modern clean and tidy. Thursday night is steak night (£15), great presentation of the food, and tastes brilliant. Staff on the other hand need to be a little more personal already and welcoming, very cold feeling from many of them, almost as though we had interrupted their quiet evening…? The speed at which they operate was fine, just the lack of friendliness. Anyway, other was a good experience, and might recommend, but would pre-warn about the service.

We had a birthday party in the restaurant. There were 24 of us and the service was great. The food all came out together and was good.

Tasty food and they let us bring our dog in as it was quiet… Which was really helpful.

Lunch at The Bell Service was quick and waitress was friendly. My lunch was a little disappointing. I had risotto, which wasn't very hot and some of the rice wasn't cooked fully — still had a dry grainy texture. I've had better food here so I wouldn't let this put me off returning.

Dull and run down should be better as only pub left in town. A missed opportunity.

Having stayed at The Bell at Sax for 3 nights I would highly recommend it!
The room we stayed in had plenty of character with an ensuite with a bath which is a nice change to just a shower, we had lovely toiletries included and plenty of tea and coffee with better than average biscuits :-)
Due to the time of year there was not very much happening locally but we went to relax so that was fine by us.
The food was the absolute highlight of our stay, breakfast was varied and plentiful and well above average, we dined at The Bell all 3 nights and everything we had was exceptional, I was disappointed that I just couldn't manage my favourite pudding on the last night! (Sticky toffee pudding with a banana mousse and salted caramel ice cream), it was to die for.

Great food and reasonably priced. However service could be improved as drinks order was incorrectly processed despite restaurant being very quiet.

Called on 1st of june to enquire about the 2 for 1 offer for the next night. Was told that there was no need to book. Arrived next night to be informed that without booking we could not enter. We repeated what we had been told the previous day without success and left feeling very angry.

We were blown away by everything at the Bell. We came on a special Amazon Local deal and I ought to say not expecting a huge amount for so very little money. How wrong could we have been. From the minute we walked in, we could tell this was going to be a happy discovery. From things like the hall and stair carpet, a plain red carpet which obviously would show ever speck. Not a bit of it! This then made me look at the pictures, which were thoughtfully chosen and not the usual job-lot you see so often in hotels. The room was large and well appointed with two good quality pillows each; high quality bedlinen and towels. Nothing seemed skimped. On the first night we went into the bar for a drink before dinner. It was during the World Cup and naturally the television was on for the football, no one was watching it. As the bar emptied I asked Cameron if he could turn the television down a little. He not only did, but retuned it to a music station, which I think showed a lot of thought and empathy. We happily played cards without sport in the background. The food was very good, with plenty of choice and obviously someone with a very deft hand in the kitchen. Interesting food flavours and combinations, not your usual standard pub/hotel grub. The breakfasts were a joy with lots of brilliant ideas i. E. Making your own toast from 'real' bread you cut yourself to your required thickness. Sliced white plastic bread has no place here!
