A straight ten …. An amazing Inn tucked away in the Shropshire countryside. Great ambiance, 5* food and outstanding service. Highly recommend.

We had a fantastic meal at The Burlton Inn while on holiday in Shropshire. The food was fantastic and service was great (even though it was really busy and there were just the 2 staff at front of house! ) Thoroughly recommend. 🙂

This place is lovely stayed 5 days my room was clean the food was great. The staff is the gold mine. I felt like I was a welcomed family member in their home. I was here by myself from the US for a wedding. They bent backwards for me to make me welcome. Helping me with taxis and how to get to where. I could not have done this trip with out them. Thank you.

First time back since lockdown in March and was the best meal we've had there. Food all freshly cooked and staff very attentive. Bit on the pricey side so nice for a treat. Definitely recommend.

Both my wife and I have been here 4 or 5 times. It’s a excellent place to stop, you are met with a warm smile and a professional service.
All the staff are upbeat and you feel you are being welcomed with sincerity and it’s real. The prices for the B&B is excellent value and the breakfast superb.
The rooms are spacious and the beds very comfortable. Overall I have nothing negative to say about and when we are next down Shrewsbury way this is where we will stop.
Oh forgot to mention the craft beers are delicious!

Stopped for a drink on our way past, first outing since lockdown. Really friendly staff and perfect to stay safe from this dreaded virus.

Can’t recommend this place enough. A beautiful welcoming pub atmosphere with great rooms for accommodation. The family who run the business have been more than accommodating always going above and beyond to fulfil our needs and make our stay as pleasant as possible. Will be returning in the near future. Amazing Sunday late lunch! Good home cooked food, you very rarely get mash potato with your roasts these days, but this plate had both mash and roast! Heaps of beef and vegetables and a separate bowl of cauliflower cheese was a lovely touch. Very impressed.

We had a wonderful Sunday lunch with our daughter and partner and our two dogs. Excellent roasts and superb desserts and friendly efficient service.

Stayed here for 2 weeks for job training in Shrewsbury and everything about The Burlton is 10/10. The rooms were lovely, clean, comfortable and accommodating and the food for tea and breakfast was amazing. The staff also were incredibly friendly and made sure I was also okay and had everything I needed. Thank you and hopefully pop in again soon!

Very average. All I could taste with my meal was black pepper, my husbands was the same. Shame as new to the area. Would have been a nice local.

Nice food, good selection of beers, and friendly staff. A bit pricey though.

Stayed for one night for purposes of a wedding. Room was spacious, bathroom was large and facilities were good. Large bed was comfy and we had an undisturbed sleep. Breakfast was excellent as was the service. Recommended.

Friendly good food. Couple of items missing from our meals. Wife's missing broccoli mine the 2nd egg. Not huge but hey ho.

Stopped here for lunch on the wat to ellesmere. Great menu. Had the club sandwich. And a becks blue… this is a robinsons house. B&B accomodation looks good at the back. Overall recommended.

Came here today for Sunday lunch and the food was excellent. I had the carrot soup for starter which was delicious and it came with a healthy wedge of bread and lashings of butter which I love. My partner had the mini sausages and the sauce they came in was gorgeous. We both opted for Roast Turkey dinners and they also did not disappoint. Very generous portions with a helping of Cauliflower cheese on the side, yum yum. Although we were both extremely full we thought it would be rude not to sample the desserts. We ordered the “old School Rice Pudding” and oh my god, I’ve never tasted anything like it. It was beautiful and creamy. We also ordered the summer fruit Pavlova and again this lovely.
Big thumbs up from us. It was the nicest Sunday lunch I’ve had in a long time and the service was excellent. We will definitely be visiting again.

Lovely country pub. Often pop in on a Friday after work, and will always be our go to place for a family celebration. Excellent food, great service and dog friendly too :) Highly recommended.

Lovely service and location. Prices for drinks are a little on the high side but the food makes up for it as its of excellent quality. Would thoroughly recommend.

A very quiet lunchtime, we were the only guests. Not much ambience with only us there.

Lovely pub located on the Shrewsbury road out of Ellesmere. We enjoyed a lovely meal served by very friendly and professional staff. Food was piping hit but, watch out, the portions are large. Range of real ales brewed locally.

Very friendly and helpful staff with tea coffee in the room and good breakfast. Curtains were a bit thin so the light woke me up early. Wi-Fi also didn't reach my room and no phone signal so I couldn't contact anyone. Otherwise a lovely stay!

Traditional home cooked food predominately English dishes made from good quality ingredients cooked to perfection. Breakfast equalled the quality of the evening meal and was simply first class. Service is friendly and efficient and we came away In now doubt that they really care about their guests. Accommodation is in clean modem chalets adjacent to the pub was clean and well maintained and plenty of tea and coffee and hot chocolate n the room. We will definitely return. Great value and no complaints.

Called in on a early Sunday evening. Was only looking for a snack but was interested in the Sunday roast list. So opted for the beef roast. What a lovely meal. Tasty beef, roast potatoes, a dish of fresh vegetables and butter mashed potatoes. Also included was a gravyboat with stunning gravy. Remembering I was only looking for a snack. Polished off the roast dinner and was ready for a sleep on a settee. A stunning local country pub. Excellent choice of real ales. Considering I live so close don't know why I have left it so long since my last visit.

We found this lovely Inn a few years ago and its a very convenient stopover for us. Under new management since March, it was excellent. We had a very large Sunday roast, at a very reasonable price. A good night's sleep in the separate accommodation — very warm and comfortable. Breakfast was a full English. Only request would be that the pillows were replaced — too cost and hard for us. Big thank you to Alan and co. Will definitely be back again.

Had a fab night last night at food and drink from around the world night. Great hosts lovely food. Fantastic friends and company. Really good atmosphere. Definitely recommend it. Its well worth the drive. Lovely setting and patio garden. You can even stay over b&b lovely en suite rooms Grab your coat and go go go!

Thank you for an enjoyable stay. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The food was of good quality and well presented in a lovely homely environment. However, although our room was adequate, considering it was the 4-poster, it was not as luxurious as was described. The bed linen was limp, without the crispness and the mattress was thin and lumpy. Very weak internet access and small TV.

A fantastic pub first visit for our annual Xmas meal. New owner. Friendly helpful staff. Food was excellent hot and fresh ingredients. Friends stayed in rooms who commented how clean and tidy it was. Super ambience relaxed and we'll decorated. Would be my local if I lived closer. Will be going again :) :) :).

A beautiful Inn in beautiful surroundings. All the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The room was delightful, perfectly furnished and wanting for the nothing. We had a two night stay and both the breakfast and our dinners were of a very high quality served to us by charming staff. The beers were plentiful and well kept. Would certainly recommend it to anyone for any occasion.

Took some friends all the way from Sheffield for Sunday lunch and we were shocked by the change from excellent to mediocre-poor. Dirty fabric on chairs. Cold, over-cooked vegetables, thin slices of meat. Friend could not eat bread and butter pudding and described it as inedible. I was embarrassed and would certainly not have taken my visitors here if I'd known how much it had changed. My husband feels like weeping he could have cooked it 10 times better himself.

12.09.13. We have the had the worst gastronomic experience ever. There were only 2 others eating and we ordered 3 meals including beef bourgeon. This arrived and from the start the 'stew' resembled something out of a tin with added peas. It was not edible and so chewy you could not digest. Very nice girl on the bar who understood when we explained our experience though disgraceful management, husband and wife I believe, who turned away once they heard the meal was not up to any standard and no offer of any replacement or compensation. Being local I would chose never to take my family there again whilst under their management. We give it — 4 star as we eat out often and luckily have not had to experience such poor performance or management.

One of my favourite Shropshire pubs — great to cycle to. Good beer and very good food. Nice to sit outside at the back. My only criticisms are that they should vary their selection of beers a bit more (perhaps a guest ale that isn't from Robinsons? ) and pay more attention to cleaning glasses. Bubbles cling to dirt, so if the inside of a full glass of beer has a smear of bubbles on it, it's DIRTY and should not be given to customers. Get a decent dishwasher! Other than that, you couldn't want much more from a country pub. Highly recommended.

I have been to the Burlton Inn on a number of occasions and it has never been anything other than spectacular. The presentation of the food is outstanding, the quality of the food is mouthwatering and the staff could not be friendlier. Paul, the owner, is a real foodie and knows his stuff, this clearly shows. It is not cheap as it is not your average chain pub but it is worth every penny. I will continue to go again and again and recommend that everyone else goes there as well.

Food arrived very hot and tasted delicious. Service was quick and staff very efficient. I highly recommend.
