Key card stopped working, locked out of our room. No one on duty, no one answering the phone or responding to messages. Can’t go anywhere else as car keys, money and everything else, INCLUDING VITAL MEDICATION, all inside the room.
What a farce of a hotel!

Lovely place, lovely memories. Just right size and everything what we wanted for our wedding. We loved it.

On 26th July our son and daughter in law were married here, there are no words that can do justice to the service we received — it was second to none, nothing was too much trouble for anyone. Everything we needed or wanted was there, the food was outstanding and we were all made so welcome. From the guests we had so many compliments about the whole day. We would have no hesitation in recommending the venue. Thank you to ALL the staff you made their day so special Mr and Mrs Atkins x (senior! )

Wow, just wow. I had my wedding here yesterday and I honestly cannot fault Steventon House, they went above and beyond, nothing was too much! Razvan, you were absolutely amazing, such a kind helpful person! I am so happy I chose Steventon as my wedding venue as it was the most perfect day I could have wished for! Absolutely outstanding service! A HUGE heart filled thanks from Mr and Mrs Atkins x.

Had my Wedding on the 24th May 2019, this hotel was amazing from the start to end. The service was 1st class, rooms were very spacious, the food was excellent and from the planning of my wedding here to the end I could not fault anything. The wedding was in the conservatory and the very modern bar was used also through out the day. The best day ever with NO stress at all. Would definitely recommend a wedding here xx.

Be careful if hiring for your big day. Be sure to check the prices thoroughly before booking as in peak season weekends they charge between 75 and 95 pn for a deluxe room in the main building yet for a wedding in May it was 130 with exclusive discount
The manager would not return emails or calls to discuss this and left Harley to tell me its supply and demand. Harley is worth her weight in gold and the rest of the girls worked really hard too.
Food on the Friday in the re…staurant was not great and the chocolate tarte still frozen. However I couldn't fault the wedding food it was gorgeous and venue although small is effective for what they do.
Just be careful and check every detail.

Very bad service! First, I cannot understand how employees that work in this hotel in ENGLAND do not speak english!? Second, the breakfast! How can you say to the guests that are staying in this hotel that you ate all of the yoghurts? You only had 5 yoghurts for breakfast. Seriously?! Third, no music at the bar when we are actually the ones who are paying for the drinks!? Are you not interested in making business or what? Also, how about the table cloth that was not ironed for the matrimony?! The bride asked twice to do that! How about the white wine that was not put in the ice bucket? You just put the wine bottles on the table like in the lowest level restaurant. Have you ever heard about etiquette? Or how to serve in a restaurant? The owner of this place is the most unprofessional person ever! How can you talk to your client (the bride) as if she was a trash? They even couldnt find the bride’s son’s suit jacket which they personally signed for and DPD driver had to come back during the evening reception to prove that it was delivered. It was found in the morning… How is this possible? I could continue with many many other complaints like cleanliness and so on… But the main thing I want to say is that everyone that is considering to stay in this hotel or have a wedding should think twice! The only nice and polite person was the receptionist Suzie. The others do not seem to care about anything. Very upsetting and unprofessional team.

Not worth the money, it's overpriced for the service they provide. They advertise themselves as a luxury venue but everything (from the rooms to the restaurant/bar area furniture) feels cheap. Also, I overheard a Manager/Supervisor? at the reception desk being quite rude to somebody over the phone as I was standing around waiting for someone and then he made a snarky comment (to be honest I didn't hear exactly what he said — other than the F word) to a colleague and they both giggled and rolled their eyes — quite unprofessional.

Stayed at this hotel on Friday and Saturday 27th and 28th of April on first impressions very good beautiful looking hotel and the news rooms beautifully done and great showers. The night after a family wedding that wasent held here I changed rooms as my mum needed to be on the ground floor. I asked at the reception where I was given a key card for a room when it didt work I went back to reception to find out why when the foreign reception guy have me another one which worked but upon entering the room realised that there was someone already in that room I finally got another room which was lovely but the toilet cistern kept me awake for most of the night I then went down to breakfast where there were maybe two tables with other guests where I waited for 35mins to be waited on while other people come in and where served straight away I can understand it when it got busy but not when there were so few people when I arrived I was served by another foreign man with a pony tail I suggest if he can't cope with a breakfast that enough of guests for breakfast he shouldt be doing it. Its a pity about these two members of staff and the toilet being broken as I did mention it to the reception in the morning to be told they were getting a new boiler but it's needs to be looked at quicker if you are letting that room out as the toilet would not flush and as that's a basic need in a hotel and the enough you are paying for the room a courtesy offer of compensation should have been offered.

Fantastic hotel, lovely rooms, helpful staff. However breakfast and dinner options could cater more for various dietary requirements such as vegetarian or gluten free.

Be careful how you book as prices can be very different between £65 & £125 for the same room! They won't do a deal on the phone or match prices seen on web sites but you can get good prices on some web sites well ahead of time or last minute. We stayed in the main building at the front the room was clean and tidy but a little tired. Food we had in the evening was nice but it was a set menu for an event we were attending. Breakfast was good and they will serve exactly what you ask for you don't have to do a set menu.

I stayed with a friend here for a celebration, I chose to pay a premium over the local premier inn as I believed this hotel would offer a better experience. But that couldn't be further from the truth. Before arrival, I had to change the dates of booking, which the hotel were very accommodating to do. When we checked in, the process was extended by staff not seeming familiar with the software and equipment. We were provided with our room and the directions to the cell block accommodation, I understood on booking that we would be in the garden wing so expected to be out of the main building. But infect this garden wing is a entirely separate block of rooms which is much more akin to a seedy motel. I believe it was built in the 80's and has little maintinence since. the lift doors refused to close when we tried it, so resorted to walking the stairs to find the lift had fixed itself and beaten us. I'm not sure if it's temperamental as I didn't try to use it after that encounter. on entering our room we were disappointed to have been given a double not a twin as booked. We rang reception who came to resolve the matter, no apologies were made — the staff did try to be efficient in resolving the matter, but should have kept the thoughts of the situation to themselves. As a guest I expect to hear that the issue will be solved and nothing more. My friend was eventually offered a separate room. Which made me feel slightly better for paying over £200 for the stay.

Hotel located in the vicinity of London in Oxfordshire not suitable for a quick visit to the city but suitable for those who want to stay out in the Oxfordshire quaint for those who love the countryside.
Nice hotel not big rooms but on all inclusive iron and ironing board.
Present in the room warms water with Nescafe tea and hot chocolate.
Nice restaurant with varied menu.

Stopped in the main house and was not dissappointed, amazing room. Other nights I stopped in then annex (the cheaper rooms) this was like being at a totally different hotel, dringy, dirty, dull small uncared for rooms, lights/ TV not working. If staying here definately pay the slight bit extra for a main house room.

Magnificent hotel, cared for in the smallest details in full respect of Tradition. It was once the residence of the Singer family.

Food is appalling. Rooms were fine, nice grounds. Breakfast was just a full English, I prefer something less in the morning and there wasn't a great choice of fruit alternatives.

Nice friendly staff and convenient location. We had a business presentation and all went well except the provided projector was too dim to see. Would use again.

Recently refurbished country house hotel with good size rooms. A bit close to the busy road but most of the rooms are around the back so are shielded from the noise. Very helpful and friendly staff.

There for a wedding and had a very pleasant stay. Beds comfy and rooms very clean and modern. The staff were pleasant throughout our stay.

Lovely venue but was much better without the new extension. Too much of the once beautiful grounds and the accompanying character of the house has been lost.

Could not have been looked after any better helped turn my daughter's wedding into a real special day staff and food were 5 star thank you all a top notch venue s. Xable.

Abingdons Fawlty Towers, where no request by the guests is too small to ignore and, no amenity that they cannot charge you for. Extremely rude manager, who needs to be retrained in customer relations. There are too many choices in the area to pick this one.

We had our wedding here in October 2014. The level of service was extra ordinary. Jeevan it was awesome.

Breakfast poor, Wi-Fi poor but rooms fab, great service, good evening meals and great value.

Terrible. Unfortunately the website gives the impression of a gourmand boutique Hotel, however this is far from the reality, with tinned fruit served for breakfast, badly cooked value products in the full English breakfast, the cheapest toast and when asked to have a stronger or proper coffee I was told I would have to pay extra…. But it gets worse…. This Hotel also has the WORST service I have ever experienced. The staff treat you with complete contempt and are so untrained and inexperienced in customer service that they come across as rude. The front desk staff have the social skills of a rabid dog. It is a real shame, because the hotel is in a lovely location, and it has so much potential, (it has been refurbished — I stayed in their claimed best room, but they have not done the bathrooms — it had a rust bath! ). But what really spoils this hotel is the underlying cheapness and the woeful service. Totally miss-priced for what it really is.
