We’ve spent a year trying to find a proper roast on the island and today we done just that — honestly can’t believe how delicious The Shurland’s roast is! The restaurant is lovely and modern too. Was also great to be shown around by the owner to see all the refurbishments works they are doing! Already planning our next trip back.

I just wanted to say a huge thank you to all the staff for making all 3 parties amazing this year! I couldn't have found a better venue. Nothing was too much trouble. Everything was perfect. I now have amazing memories with family and friends that I will never forgot. The food is great and the pub has a really friendly atmosphere. I would recommend to anyone. Your all amazing. Thank you. X.

Lovely hotel, currently under renovation, main bar and restaurant areas are well done. Many of the rooms need to be updated as well. Food was excellent and service very good.

Had several meals in the Shurland Hotel restaurant over the summer and all have been excellent.

New owners and mostly refurbished looking much better. Good food good service.

We stopped here for lunch on Saturday with my daughter who is coeliac. They were very accommodating, having some gluten free rolls and could suggest changes to dishes to make them gluten free. Daughter was very happy with her burger as was I with my Cajun chicken. Would recommend.

We had a meal for my birthday here last week, very good atmosphere friendly staff and the food was very nice highly recommend it we had the beer battered cod and chips, the kids meals were nice and my mum had the salmon very satisfied going back for fathers day.

Lovely local bar. Really nice food and the kids menu is well priced. Also love their gym and spa. Friendly helpful local staff and management.

Our first visit and I will definitely be returning because the food was superb a nice friendly atmosphere me and my family all said it was fantastic with plenty of parking and all the other ameinties available such as gym and spa it's very appealing.

Not very impressive! Good historical place but not the best hotel.

Excellent service lovely and clean great hotel.

Couldn't get in for 10 mins as had sign saying due to painting please use other door. Turned out it was down an unlit part of carpark at rear, a round a corner, across another carpark and in an entrance to e gym.

Great staff easy to find very comfortable beds would highly recommend this hotel Keep the good work up guys.

Had Sunday lunch. Well presented and cooked lovely. New owners giving good value for money. At £9:95 was excellent value. Staff very friendly. Will definitely visit again.

We arrived late but still got a friendly welcome. The room was clean and spacious although it was dated. The TV didn't work properly but we didn't stay long enough to be bothered by it.

We stayed here last night. (i say we as there was a group of us-4 rooms in total) We arrived at 1pm but our rooms were unfortunately not ready. We went to the bar for an hour and our rooms were still not ready how ever we were all given our keys. Because they were not ready we couldnt see what our rooms were like until late evening after the wedding we were attending. No problem. We set about our business and arrived back at 11.55pm. Room key (no 6) all we heard were dogs barking! From the moment we got back to our hotel for our not so pleasant stay to the moment we woke up and left. We wanted to speak to someone about this before we left however. No one was at reception all morning!. Not happy at all.

OK hotel some rooms skittle small food good service can be slow but staff nice and friendly.

Nice place to have food and have drinks and very nice staff working for the SHURLAND.

Stayed for 2 nights with my husband whilst visiting for a family wedding. Lovely little hotel. Friendly staff, good bar and good prices. Rooms are basic but all that you need and would expect for the price. Can't fault the brekkie. Clearly good quality food and cooked well. Will definitely be staying here again on my next visit to Kent. Eastchurch is a lovely area with easy access to the rest of the island.

Confusing to get to the function rooms, and the room was very hot! Bar staff were friendly and helpful and prices were cheap!

Fantastic venue! Nice country pub in a local vilage setting, quaint hotel, nice restaurant with great food, and a gym aswell! Been here quite a few times, the staff are very friendly and management very approachable, sunday roast is fantastic, function room available with its own bar too! There is also a roof terrace for guests!

Havent been yet but best place to stay for visitin swaleside. I'll write more when ive visited…

Absolute shambles. Waited over a hour for main course while being there only custom. Waste of time. Should of gone to the playa restaurant.

We dropped by to have dinner on a sat afternoon, the food was lovely and the staff were cheerful and welcoming.

Hired the function room for our wedding reception in May 2015. Les Harrison the manager couldn't have been more helpful. Buffet Food was excellent, our families booked 14 rooms. These were discounted for the wedding guests and included a full English breakfast. Highly recommend. Also recommend the restaurant food.

My daughter hired this venue for my Grandsons christening, as it has recently had a complete make over and under new management. It was fantastic. The food was just scrumptious and so reasonably priced and the room itself was beautiful, with its own bar and bar person. The reviews that I read beforehand left me feeling uneasy but a lot can change in 3 years and a lot has changed. Would absolutely recommend for family functions.

Food is absolutely dire — Worse than an old school dinner on a bad day! Won't visit again! Had roast chicken — lol there was nothing roast about it. It was a microwaved piece of rubber.
