Everything from the food to the presentation was quality & the price was reasonable. They have a children's menu but the only thing I would say; they need is a play area for the kids. As there were a number of children there when we went.

Absolutely beautiful location, we spent two nights here, bit would have happily spent more, lovely little secluded lodges, I'd say the only downside was not having a fire place

Welcoming staff cosy modern interior plenty of choice to suit all tastes food was very tasty portion size spirt on — the Robinsons was a very popular choice of drink I didn’t realise it was a local ale just thought everyone was thirsty

A gastro pub set in the midst of lovely countryside though quite remote. The food is high quality, freshly cooked and reasonably priced. Service is good. Worth seeking out.

5/5.0

We stayed in the Pioneer room above the bar and it was beautifully decorated in a modern style but still cozy with exposed beams etc, and very clean with some fab toiletries and snacks provided. The bed was very comfortable and the shower large and powerful. The bar itself was lovely with a great selection of beer and spirits. The breakfast was delicious and they made great vegetarian arrangements at our request with no fuss. The one thing to keep in mind is that if you want an early night, the rooms above the bar are not for you. It was quite noisy until after midnight being right above the bar, and the walls through to the rooms next door are also quite thin. This is fine if you're planning on a late one yourself, but keep in mind that the rooms above the bar are not ideal if you're looking for an early, peaceful sleep. It was perfectly quiet and comfortable after then.

After so many recommendations we called in for a sandwich lunch on Sunday 20th August 2017… Found a table outside and ventured inside to seek a menu that we could then order our sandwiches… But I am afraid that here is where the story ends, with the mumbling staff not wanting to explain that customers, or even 'want to be customers' such as ourselves, cannot order sandwiches on a Sunday, with no eye contact, and not proffering any suggestions, clearly not wanting our business… How about 'If you want something lighter, you could try a starter, sir', no chance, just go away… Fortunately sat on the table outside next to us were other customers, equally as surprised as ourselves, and as we left they suggested we should try the golf club only 200 yards away. What great advice, what a contrast, simply fantastic, staff both incredibly helpful and friendly, sandwiches or anything else… not a problem. Makes me want to take up golf! Sting in the tail, the owner of The Baiting House, Andrew, instead of an apology, or any kind of effort to welcome us back as paying customers, was not in anyway moved, other than to wrongly praise his downcast staff for recommending the golf club! Which they obviously did not! First impression? Dreadful! Food, Absolutely no idea! Service? Need you ask? Return? Who me? No! Remember, you can never get a second chance at a first impression!

Comfortable bed, room a bit dark though due to small low windows. Very clean, with a nice bar and eating area. Beautiful surroundings. Very helpful, friendly staff. I will definately stay here again. The only negative for us was that there was no Wi-Fi and your phone could not call out.

Rating based on a quick drink there as we were passing through but was really impressed with the look and feel of the recently renovated place. Wish we could've spent some more time there sampling their extensive ale menu.

Fellow travellers please detour to this gem. My wife and I had the pleasure of an evening at The Baiting House on Friday 8th July. Upon arrival we were met with the delightful good looks of the property which was then built upon the moment we entered. Beautifully finished surfaces and paint work and delightful woods were coupled with polite and professional staff who are obviously loved by the local residents. When we went to the room… wow! £75? Egyptian cotton and oak. This place is immaculate and the bathroom totally immaculate. Down to dinner and again we were treated as royalty. Exceptional service even from the youngest and potentially most inexperienced staff. The mean was delicious and the smiles endless. Could it get better? Yes… the breakfast: — good grief, again exceptional and even the papers to accompany it. All we can say is, thank you so very much. We are seasoned travellers and your premises, service and attention was truly outstanding! Joe and Andrew Hall
