Very clean, tidy.

Here on business for 6 months certainly won’t book this hotel again.

Room was ok apart from the bathroom had pink dirt all over the tiles which is disgusting. No pillow or mattress protector which I would of expected. Breakfast was very bland and not worth the money, for the price we have paid I would of expected better. The toilet was so close to the tiles you couldn’t even sit on it correctly. I would not recommend this hotel.

Nice enough… update 2nd stay review… Having now stayed again for a couple of nights I would hesitate to come back, the reason? The beds, I thought it must have just been a one off last time, but now I have been different rooms, I can confirm that multiple, maybe all rooms have one of the worst mattress I have ever slept on! Or rather struggled to sleep on, it is very soft, like pure sponge, compressing to almost the width of a piece of paper if you were to sit on the side of the bed. I have had the worst couple of nights sleep because of it and now have an aching back. Now, I do admit I am of a bigger build than most at the time of writing, but my colleague which was travelling with me is not and he struggled with the same matress issues in his room. Other things to note are they have put face plates over all but 2 power sockets so bring a 4 way gang extension if you want to use or charge multiple devices. The hotel also provide a Handy, an Internet connected mobile phone in each room which you can take out and about with you, even away from the hotel, so absolutely ideal for travellers or tourists. All in all a clean, nice enough hotel, but I put a good night's sleep at the top of my priority list, especially whilst working away. If it was not for the bed situation I would be more than happy to stay here again.

A great place we stopped before we cruised and left our car. Lovely room and service and the breakfast was ex ellemt.

All good, cosy. Booked last minute. Arrived after midnight and the reception was still staffed. Good food and nice room.

Not suitable for people with limited mobility. Be aware no AC and the rooms were very hot and uncomfortable — outside temperature was in the teens. We had two rooms in differents parts of the hotel. Not enough plug sockets in the rooms, poor sound proofing from other rooms, with very creaky floors above. Wi-Fi doesn't work in all rooms, shower didn't work in one of the rooms. Parking was a nightmare very limited certainly no where near enough for guests. On the up side the rooms were clean and the free tea and coffee was fine. Breakfast was adequate but strictly no frills.

Good rooms with some nice innovative features that I've never seen in a hotel before, such as a complimentary smart phone to use for the duration of your stay with included mobile data. There is a safe in the room, and the safe has an internal plug to charge devices whilst locked.

Quiet, comfy bed helpful staff, 50 metres from main shopping and Sainsburys.

The location of this hotel is great only cost £5 in an uber to the centre of Southampton. The hotel was a little dated but the rooms were still clean! The breakfast was average though.

Great location. Hotel is dated and needs uodating in areas. The room I had was a good size for a single person however the walls and thin and floorboards need replacing. I was woken by the people above returning due to the flooring needing replacing.

Very good hotel close to University of Southampton buildings. The receptionist was very kind to change our room because we felt cold. The rooms are nice. The bus stop is close. Sainsburys is also 5 min away. Lots of places to eat nearby.

Nicely decorated rooms comfy beds so got a decent sleep topped off by a full English breakfast buffet in the morning which you can eat as much as you want with the option of fresh fruit cereal toast and a selection of hot & cold drinks.

Not the most modern or roomy of places but it is clean and tidy with good car parking. The huge bonus is the free mobile phone in the room for visitors which you can take out and use to guide yoi round the city. Brilliant!

Having booked a family room we turned up at the hotel to find we had been given 2 rooms on separate floors. With a 2 year old and a 7 year old who is autistic this was not ideal. The girl on reception did everything she could to try and resolve the situation, then a man came along and basically told us there was nothing he could do and to take it or leave it. At this point we asked if we could have a spare single mattress to put on the floor to which his reply was a very rude no. I accept that these thing happen but this blokes attitude towards me and my other half was appalling. Safe to say I will not be returning or recommending this hotel to anyone.

Run down and very dated. Visited this hotel recently to see a friend and we were shocked at what the room was like. Firstly no lift in the part he was in. Décor is circa 1980 and it looks like it was last decorated in the 80's. The room was large but just as dated and the bathroom was horrible with mould round the windows and round the bath. It was the main room that was the worst. Almost every power point in the room had been removed and had blanking plates fitted in fact there were only 2 power points in the room and one of these was used by a mobile phone the hotel supplies. This is cost cutting to the ridiculous level.

We needed to take breakfast with us as we were leaving at 5am every day. We were turned down. As a result, in 5 days the hotel has provided paid services only once.

We stayed here for new years eve, the receptionist was a lovely quirky lady and very welcoming. The hotel is more dated than the photos show. Our room (39) was very cold and drafty, the decor very dated and the bathroom wasn't very nice, shower was pathetic and the bath really old and stained there was mould around the bathroom window also and it smelled damp. Probably because the extractor fan didn't work. It was OK for £48 but that didn't include breakfast. The drinks list stated you could obtain them from reception but in fact my partner has to go next door to the neighbouring bar to get a drink. We probably wouldn't stay again.

A warm, friendly place, fantastic breakfast, good value.

Staff are generally friendly but ultimately often unhelpful. The rooms are decent, although varying in quality (the bathroom, in particular, can vary a lot in quality). I had water pressure issues when staying on the top floor. Wi-Fi is also spotty if you are on a high floor, otherwise fine. Breakfast is pretty good, although relatively expensive. All in all, a decent place to stay for business or short stops, but less so for pleasure.

On the whole, a good friendly basic hotel. Corridors and bathrooms probably need a little attention in terms of decoration.

I checked in late, the night porter was very friendly and helpful! The room was a bit cold for my liking when I arrived and the heating appeared to be off. I was warm enough under the duvet though! Breakfast was well varied, with continental and hot options all available. Very reasonable price for it too. Would happily stay here again.

Bed comfortable but asked for ground floor room as have bad legs with arthritis. Got there put on second floor no lift. Won’t be staying again.

Comfortable but dated. Seemed to be some check in issues and problems with bookings being lost.

The staff outright told some guests they delete all emails they receive and so don't have some important details about the arriving guests, which is hardly a good practice. Room soaps aren't replaced daily. Carpet unhoovered in room. And my booking wasn't in place even though I booked 6 months in advance. However room is what I'd expect for the price and staff are friendly.

It's a good hotels for nearby, but if you go into town there are some higher end hotels. Saying that, I will definitely stay here again.

Went for professional function. Perfectly fine facilities and EXCELLENT catering. Decor is not modern though i. E. A bit out dated.

The hotel is near the university, it is basic, no elevator, but relatively clean, and in an acceptable state. The breakfast has different options and is well. As an extra detail, there is an ironing board with his iron in the room, in addition to water heater with a selection of teas, chocolate, a bottle of water and chocolate, all included. The bed is enough comfortable, spacious, my room at least outside. The staff is nice and polite, and tourist information is available at the hotel.

Polite staff, good location, excellent cooked breakfast. Rooms weren't cleaned when we checked in, but it was quickly and efficiently sorted out.

Handy place for popping to the Uni each day. Reasonable Wi-Fi. Friendly staff. I'm just at the start of my visit, but so far I plan to come back.

I go here to attend Christ Church Southampton, as the evening services are based here. I can't speak for the quality of the accommodation but the dining room and event rooms are great, and the staff are very friendly.

It's ok. It's cheap and it does what it says in the tin! Good breakfast, clean rooms, I stay here alot and the only gripe I ever have is often no hot water in the evening otherwise it's ok.

Overall good. But make sure to ask for quite room. They put me above restaurant. Kept me awake all night.

Staff attentive and helpful, breakfast good. Showers could use some work and there is a real need for aircon it at least a fan in the higher rooms.
