Love this pub, greats friendly bunch. Mark is always keen to help out. Food is fab too. Just love the place, bands are fab too. Get yourself down.

A publican who is a real character and knows how to treat his customers. Food is around 50% cheaper than other pubs in area (Wetherspoons apart) but always freshly cooked and of good quality.

Pleasant place for a pint and obviously a popular bar with the locals.

The staff at The Black Lion are very friendly great hospitality and are like a second family. They ensure we had everything we needed. Always something on the go at the pub. Trivia night was great. Our 2 weeks there made our trip to London special and convenient to train and buses. Definitely will be back Mark!

This pub is pretty awesome. Always something going on here, sporting events, Gigs, quiz night's etc. Service is usually pretty good even when very busy esp at weekends at its peak. The interior is comfortable and seating for food is okay too. Roast dinners on Sundays are very popular and I can recommend them. Small niggle, expensive on the drink selection but apart from that a good place to go.

Warm & friendly atmosphere Always Sport on the tele. Good food Big choice of beers, ales, shorts.

Love this pub and its publican Mark, every thing you could ever want from a local and more, I have just worked out that I have been coming to this pub for about 47 years I wonder how many pints that is!

Pleasant stay. A very nice hospitable bar with good rooms. We will come again — what a nice and welcoming owner, staff and local guests. We just felt at home.

Went to the food quiz last night. Mark knew to expect a couple of vegans who wanted to eat there. He went above and beyond to feed us. Great time. Atmosphere at quiz night is fab. I loved how mark did the cooking, managed the quiz and kept tables tidied. He is a real landlord and should be very proud of himself. Food is amazing value to.

Amazing food! Tapas menu is soooo yummy, although would say it's more small plates of food rather than actual tapas, so don't order too much! So well priced too, defo going back soon!
