Love this hotel, so much history, room was beautiful, staff friendly and helpful and our meal at corner room was so good we ordered extras to the tasting menu.

Steeped in history and beautifully quirky. Apartments are lush and spotless, the bed was perfect, the staff here and soo lovley and the breakfast was delicious. Thanks for an amazing stay x.

An excellent first experience. Our room is lovely, although it’s rather saucy in that you can see into the bathroom/toilet. Not sure why hotels think this important, seems to happen more and more. We’ve just had a cheese toastie which was delicious. Look forward to eating in The Corner Room tomorrow. Oh we even went for a swim in the pool, lovely.

Had another lovely stay at the Town Hall Hotel, the staff were all lovely, friendly and helpful. The food in the Corner Room was delightful and I love the decor!

I can’t remember when I have had such a poor experience at a hotel. For almost $300 a night its inexcusable how lax this hotel is in customer experience. Absolutely no air conditioning in room. Had to call front desk 3x to ask someone to check. Finally they came. Said they would reset air for entire floor and hoped it would work. No change. Sweltering in room. They brought a fan. Said I could have more fans if I needed. Next unless you put your card on door knob to “yes” make up room they won’t make up room. Ok room not made up. I can live with that. We will bring fresh towels. Well it’s nighttime and we are out of all fresh towels except bath towels. There were already 3 in the room. Beyond disappointing. Stay elsewhere. So many options in LON. So disappointing.

Very happy to stayed in Town Hall Hotel because all the staff are very nice and I felt very comfortable to sleep in a tidy and clean room. I love to swimming in a warm swimming pool especially in this cool weather. The important things is I felt very safe security here. I am sure will come over next time.

It is a classic early 20th century former town hall. Wonderfully converted to a hotel. My room was spacious, the bed was incredibly comfortable and I had a kitchen, washer/dryer as well. The staff are attentive. In addition to the excellent food offered on premise, a number of great restaurants are within walking distance.

All hype and no substance. Had an awful stay at this hotel. Staff couldn't care less. Decor is dated and in need of updating. Hotel is soulless. Spend your money elsewhere, there are lots of better options in London.

Very nice hotel in a beautiful building in a great location. I did have the luxury of a very spacious room with a great coffee machine. Staff was super friendly. Breakfast was great. It was nice that the breakfast was a la carte and they served very good coffee. The hotel is rather expensive, but most comparable hotels in the centre are. At least it is better than the average hotel because it is different as you would expect with a boutique hotel. A benefit for me is that it is very close to LCY Airport. Very convenient for a city trip.

It's going on for midnight, we are in our room and all we can do is listen to the incredibly loud music going on from a wedding in a public area. We called reception twice about it, and each time they said they were sending security to deal with it — nothing changed. I think they just hope we will give up and stop complaining. We've also been down to see them but that didn't help. We couldn't be more disappointed. I think the issue is that the hotel has to decide whether it's a hotel for guests or a hotel for events… and it's gone for the latter.

Very impressive venue. Went there with a relative to look at her getting married there. Friendly staff and plush interior.

We held our wedding with the Town Hall. The team were amazing from the planning with Tia. Then tasting experience with Heather to refine the choices. We had great rooms — Council Chamber for ceremony & Majors for lunch (32). The Fizz & toasts in the Anti room was relaxed and fun. Service was super responsive. We had a lovely bridal suite and all the staff responded to all we needed. The 'pack up' and check out was also a seamless experience. We really are very happy with the quality of food, wine choices and everything that came together. Thank you.

We've been staying here, since it practically first opened, in Jan 2011. It's consistently great. Elegant, luxurious rooms & apartments which are great value for money.

There had been a party over midnight (until 1 am) in the ballroom just next to guest rooms. Extremely noisy. Loud music. I couldn't sleep and relaxed at all. It was Terrible experience. Never back here again. I complained three times to receptionists and she said it would finish in 30 minutes. It was 10 pm. I complained again at midnight and she said the same. She just cheated. I wrote to the manager and he replied that they need to organize events to run their business so that they can offer the better price than other hotels. What a terrible answer! They had known the noise disturbs the guests. Very dishonest. They should have said it before booking. Or they shouldn’t have had guests near the ball room when there are parties late night. It revealed the fact that they knew that their guests feel uncomfortable due to events before complaints. But they don’t care about it because of their business.

Told me at check in that they had no room and I had to go to a room 2 miles away. In a blizzard. I refused so I guess they kicked someone else out. They shoved me down in an underground room which was a strange shape. And the swimming pool was shut. That was the reason I booked the hotel. Refused to contact anyone who had the authority to do anything til the next morning, but did say I could cancel and go somewhere else. Awful awful hotel. Horrible experience on the worst night of the year with tonnes of snow. Terrible customer service.

So I'm like 70% for Town Hall. The room was spacious, with a kitchen and laundry. All good there. But it was also loud-ish, lots of noise from outside, and not really dark enough. The staff was friendly but not overly so. And zero recognition of status. Plus they billed the entire week's stay like two days in. Not sure what that was all about. Oh, and the restaurant was not great. Satan's Whiskers across the street was really good though.

A fantastic alternative hotel experience. This converted building still retains its former charm. With bits of history scattered throughout the property. Offering a nice high touch with great food and a great stay.

Awesome hotel. Very grand and oppulant and the rooms were fantastic. Restaurant serves tiny portions. I ordered BBQ ribs and only one large rib was on the plate. Felt I had to go out and get food elsewhere to fill me up.

We had an amazing time here — it is now in my top 5 of all hotels I've stayed in (and I have stayed in a lot). The building has been refurbished with an astonishing care, with imaginative details everywhere you look. You get a real sense of the buildings past, but also the attention and creativity that has been applied to every bit of it. On arriving we were upgraded to an apartment room which felt like a luxury flat with beautiful little touches (some especially for my birthday). We drank cocktails in the hotel bar, swum in the luxury pool, and ate a most wonderful breakfast. I can't recommend this place highly enough. If you like to experience old buildings in new ways, this place is for you.

Loved my stay here! Nothing was too much trouble! The service was amazing! They even upgraded me for free because I wanted a bath and my room didn't have one. They made me feel very special here from the upgrade, to helping me chose dinner in the restaurant, to closing my windows and making sure the heating was on at night, to delivering me more tea and water! I will definitely stay here again — thank you.

Lovely boutique hotel in east London. Restaurants are doing amazing things with food and staff are all friendly and professional.

It's have stylist apartments, rooms. Function hall. In room dining service. Staffs are also nice and helpful.

Great location, lovely room, great customer service. Free parking on the road outside the hotel at weekends (if you are lucky enough to find a space). Would definitely stay again.

Interesting hotel with lots of original features, the breakfast is quite pricey, even for London. The room was clean and comfortable.

Lovely Art Deco town hall converted into a cool hotel. We stayed for a wedding and it was a great venue for that. The rooms were large and had their own small kitchen and a large bathroom. The food was great. Our only complaint was the treatment at breakfast. We called ahead and arrived 4 mins before their 10:30am cut off (quite early for a weekend to be honest). The guy treated us like it was a massive inconvenience, was unfriendly and behaved like a child. Removing our napkins as we moved to sit with our friends in the restaurant bit instead of where they placed us. Tainted what was otherwise a great experience.

4 star looks, stylish appartment with all comforts and utmost lovely indoor pool. Sadly, the service is 2* at the most. As someone in this thread said 'worse than Tesco' They did so many things wrong, don't even get me started. De-motivated careless staff in every department with poor manners — from reception to housekeeping to breakfast all were repeatedly sloppy. I never felt soooo unwelcome in a place and all I wanted is to get out of there. Thought of writing a complaint …email but I have a feeling they don't care anyway. The only nice persons in there was Mr. Szabo the concierge and I thank him for his kindness. The hotel is a good example of a hotel defining itself through looks and not getting the details right that defines a good user experience. PS: I'm a frequent traveler with 30 flights per year and I stay anywhere from simple AirBnbs to Luxus Hotels — preferably in Boutique Hotels, which this one isn't really. When I checked out I asked the guy at the reception about their hotel rating and he said: we are a five star hotel. Boy, did I laugh.

Beautiful old building converted into a charming hotel/apartments. There is a swimming pool and two excellent restaurants. The bar at the front is also a great standard. Inside there are 3 private areas for weddings and corporate events.

Very beautiful venue in an unexpected location. The old fashioned decoration and art deco style suits the rest of the building. Amazing marble pillars and professional service from staff.

Big rooms with plenty of amenities. I came for a wedding and there were several major interruptions over the room's speaker system, which I hope was a one-time thing. Otherwise the event was lovely, location was convenient, and all else went over smoothly.

Amazing old building, though the sympathetic renovation has resulted in a superb, cool atmosphere. Large comfortable airy rooms, huge bath tubs and the useful kitchenette with fridge and coffee maker. Very friendly and professional staff. An enjoyable stay, highly recommended.

Great rooms with super comfortable beds and linen. You can tell it used to be a town hall and the atmosphere is being kept alive. Quick check in, helpful staff and friendly dog in the reception area.

The staff was very nice and very close to the hotel and the location was very good. Clean and cozy.

Great hotel, not very central but well served by the nearby subway (less than 10 minutes walk). It feels like at home, by the way they did a room upgrade giving us a wonderful suite. Peculiarity: Hotel in a former town hall, rooms with fully equipped kitchen (there were even the washing machine and dishwasher, microwave oven, ceramic hob, etc…), water and fresh milk available to customers every day Included in the price of the room. Pool not huge but very nice with a fully equipped gym. Breakfast more than great. Very comfortable bed. My ten-year-old daughter didn't want to leave… and me too! Recommended!

“Beware — we were robbed out of the room safe! ” My family of 5 recently stayed at the Town Hall Apartments for 4 nights on the last leg of a 2 week trip to Europe. HOWEVER, we had issues with our room safe on 2 occasions, only to discover on the day of our departure that $1600 had been STOLEN out of the safe! When we replayed the events that occurred leading up to our discovery, it suddenly seemed curious that our privately programmed safe codes didn't work on two separate occasions. Each time they sent someone to our room with a special key to unlock the safe. We picked a new code, reprogrammed it, only to have it happen again. As we were packing up to go back to the states, we emptied the safe and noticed that our money envelope was significantly deflated. The crook left the $20's but stole all the $100's… We filed a police report and the hotel promised to review security tapes, only to send us an email that they could not find a suspect. That was it. An apology. NO reimbursement. NO resolution. We had already checked out and had no financial recourse. Upon our exit, the cleaning lady confided in us that she has heard that it has happened before to other guests… so BEWARE and leave your valuables next to your dirty laundry or deep within your suitcase or DON'T STAY THERE AT ALL, because the safe is anything BUT SAFE and the hotel is anything but accommodating… even though they and their staff were clearly responsible for our loss.

The Town Hall is looking good… you can notice that right after the door… BUT I never see this low level of service and unpro staff before… I got better treatment & customer service when I shop at Tesco. The Wedding Planner, Mwai Yeboah is the incompetent person I ever met, bit it;s not ever better when it's come to deal whit the big boss… you can bring any constructive feedback you will never get any "we are sorry, let's try to do business" even when this hotel is ruining your wedding… / which is absolutely great in terms of managing business opportunity
Actually I am relieved… this? the staff working on my wedding… well I better break a leg right away rather than having that.
I also really like when those kind of place trying to get down the competitor, like the @AceHotel when obviously they treat customer way better specially when it come to happy and great celebration such a wedding… I know this comment will be deleted… thanks guys/ worst job ever.

Lovely surroundings. Would have been 5 stars were it not for the cockroaches in our room — and the total failure of the staff to sort the problem out. Disgusting.
