I had to book at the last minute due to my air bnb hostess cancelling on the day of my travel. With some knowledge of the reviews and ratings on here, I wasn't sure of what to expect. Finding it was very easy, the location was excellent and very ideal due to South Kensington being my favourite part of London. The receptionist was very calm, respectful and friendly. What else do you need? Booking was straight forward. And. You handed the keys back to reception as you got out. My room was located right at the top. Stairs were not a big problem as I am quite active but I can see why other people may have difficulties using them. The view from my room was perfect. I could do some sketches of life below and watch as things went by. Basic things you need for a 3 day stay… Nicely made bed, fridge and telly. Plus ensuite bathroom. I had slight difficulties with the latter but once you get to know how to use it, you can enjoy your nice hot showers. Breakfast was offered every morning. Toast, egg (I do like it hard boiled and it was although there was an egg cup too! ), milk, sugar, butter, marmalade and a hot kettle of tea, all on a tray. The phone in the room rang each morning to say it was ready and coming to your room about 5 minutes before your preferred time. The guy serving for the first two mornings was very polite. I had a great time without even accessing the bar below, which looked interesting and friendly. Next time maybe. When I am more familiar with the hotel.

Horrible home, hidden behind a glazed and closed counter! We are in South Kensington, we feel that they are afraid of contact with customers! Surely as nothing goes in this hotel, the hot water c is when it wants, bad bed and blanket all fine, no heating that works properly! To flee at all costs!

For what we paid for a night it wasn't all bad, room was small maybe could do with some refurbishment but adequate for what we needed, after all its not 5 star accomadation! 24hr reception we came back late (we got lost) from a festival, receptionist was friendly enough even at 3 in the morning, bathroom was quite small, but well decorated, but again suitable for our needs, wasn't any hot water though. So many stairs! We were on the top floor! Coming back from a day on our feet jumping and dancing around, those stairs were the last challenge. Couldn't really hear the road outside which was good. All in all good location pretty much 2-3min walk to the train station, 24 hr reception with friendly staff and no qualms when you arrive back in early hours, adequate rooms for a nights stay and not badly priced either.

Quaint Hotel in a very nice part of London. Super location directly outside South Kensington underground station. Rooms were warm and clean. Dated decor and staff not 100% attentive but welcoming and helpful once you see them. Looked after my luggage for me whilst I was attending an event.

I judge with 2 stars with regret because only for the position, absolutely strategic, would deserve a higher vote if it were not for everything else. Can be improved by a lot… From the management to the furnishings that are certainly not modern not to mention the often inactive heating and the hot water that mysteriously came and went. Too bad.

We stayed here last night. In total shock! We knew it was cheap and cheerful but wasn’t expecting a very run down hotel with a transvestite bar attached to the entrance. Breakfast consisted of no knock on the bedroom door with cold toast on a plate for the two of us and no butter. The shower was too hot and taps broken so couldn’t turn cold on. Basin taps had no water atall. Floor tiles and basin cracked. Beds very old and springy and radiator thermostat broken so was too hot. It’s horrific.

Awfully terrible! No hot water for shower! The attitude of receptionist is so bad! This is absolutely worst hotel ever!

Small. Horrible. Nothing like advertised. Bad location and no elevator. Looks nice in the stairwell but horrible inside the room. Hair and stuff not cleaned in the room. Looks like a place from 70th but worse. Would not recommend it to people. After 1st night wish I could refund but 4 more to go…

This is by far the worst place I've ever stayed in. Customer service was terrible. No explanation of how things are and worked. For example no room for breakfast so you have in your room. This wasn't explained until asking where breakfast is served. No how are you? Nice journey? Etc just basic politeness. You get better service at holiday inn or PI! Rooms are crap. My room had blackout curtains. Well one side did. The other let light in which woke me up. But not as much as the single glazed windows that make it feel like you are on the streets. Final straw comes now. What time would you like breakfast — 7.30 please. (I have to leave at 7:55 for work) 7.30 passes. Still need shower but waiting. 7.40 no sign. Gonna have shower! 7.55 ready to leave — phone call "Hello your breakfast is on its way up to you" that's it. Me — "don't bother you're too late. I asked for 7.30 and is now 7.55" "Oh ok" hangs up! No sorry or anything. Don't stay at this place. Ever.

Excelent location. Small uncomfortable rooms, not adapted to disabled people or large luggage. Not comfortable bed, a bit noise. Small shower good towel.

After a long day walking around London and taking in a show, my wife and I went to the hotel to relax for the evening and watch TV. The carpet on the floor was stained and the bedstead was nailed to the wall to ensure it did not fall on the guest. My wife sat on the bed and the bedside cupboard fell open as it only had one hinge. So far so not good. We put on the television to find we were restricted to two stations only. We complained and the receptionist asked us why we wished to watch the television. We were really lost for words, however he moved us to another room. The TV worked perfectly although it was too late for my wife to watch a particular program. I then decided to have a shower but after a half hour the water remained cold. I kept trying in case I got the setting wrong. We again called the receptionist to complain, so what he did was give us the key to our previous room so we could have a shower. The words Fawlty Towers soon came to mind. After our showers 23.30 we managed to get to bed. We had entered our first room at 20.30. The last time I saw a blanket on a bed was when I was in the Services in 1970. The quilt was of a 1960s design and a sheet had dotted stains on it. The receptionist at one stage said that if we were to use another hotel in the same area it would cost us £400, SO WHAT. The following morning we had to boil a kettle to have a wash.

Awful hotel with ignorant and rude staff. They process credit cards without PCI-DSS compliance leaving you highly susceptible to fraud after your stay.

Clearly hear the bar music downstairs through the floor, the heating doesn't work and the bathroom floor tiles are broken up to cause a trip hazard. When we raised this with the staff they offered that we could check out! the evening of the London Marathon. We also noticed the lead from the vacuum cleaner was a hazard plugged in downstairs no r. C. D and stretched up the stairs. I would not recommend this hotel. Good location but nothing else to recommend it.

Nice place to stay. Very clean. Great location. Staff helpful.

If you are curious go check it out. Find a member. But rally not necessary. Food is average. Okay for value. Family cheap. Some bar staff knows there stuff some aseemed stuck up. Otherwise, friendly service. Not the vest place for decent drink. Club is very tacky. Someone suggested its a little like ibiza on the Friday night I been there Not that I would know. Overrated for what's is worth. But I guess good enough for the locals.
