Nice stop after walk round Wimbledon common. Pint of Young's special with the venison sausage roll & chips plus fish and chips for the wife. All delicious and lively staff.

It's too expensive but lovely people and nice little pub.

This was an awful experience. Food was over priced and dreadful — and we were flooded by a drain under us which smelt of urine — waitress didn’t care. Will not be returning.

Sunday lunch was very good, service very friendly and efficient. I had the roast beef which was cooked medium, tender and thinly cut, served with all the usual, only improvement I would suggest is more gravy, but I suppose I could if requested more. The Yorkshire was big and fluffy on the inside but crispy on the outside just the way I like them. Would visit again!

The service was pretty bad. Obviously it's very busy on a Sunday, but if you offer (and charge) service you'd think you don't have to order your food on the counter. After being asked for cutlery, the waitress pointed to a table where we could get some. Food was unfortunately not even worth the long wait, dry potatoes (because too long in the oven) and the pork was just fat, no meat. The pub itself looks lovely so very sad to have such a weak service.

00:05. Ferried outside. Bang goes the 20 minute grace period for drinking up and finishing your drink. Was a great night until then. What a joke.

Stunning pub located in Wimbledon Village. The inner courtyard is very nice when the weather is nice. The food is excellent, the wines offered very good, and to top it all off, the staff are courteous and friendly.

Management of the Rose and Crown pub in Wimbledon are — how to say it better? — not really into national and racial equality. They perfectly showed the England-Sweden quarter-final football game in the beer garden, however when the Russia / Croatia game was about to get started, could not care less to switch tennis to football despite multiple football fans in the beergarden asking to show football, as nobody gave a thing about tennis. And even after several requests from the audience only gave the football fans a tiny TV screen inside the sweaty pub. By the last minutes of the game people occupied the tiny screen and were sitting on the floor as there was no other opportunity to watch a quarter-final. Shame on such a disgraceful behaviour — sports should be outside of politics and nationalities. Will never visit again.

Lovely inn and restaurant. The food was great. The gentleman who seated us was, obviously, having a bad day and the service was average.

My wife and I had a two night stay at the Rose & Crown and were blown away. The staff are superb and made our stay a pleasurable one. The rooms are very very clean, spacious and comfortable. The food on offer is reasonably priced and I have to say, the breakfast was lovely. We are already looking forward to our next stay. Well done and thank you to all at the Rose & Crown.

We booked a table for brunch to watch the Royal wedding and got the best table in the house. We were treated like royalty and ended up spending the afternoon in the lovely garden soaking up the sun. The staff were very friendly and the food was great all in all a 5 star experience and we’ll definitely be back!

Decent boozer with an interesting range of snacks. Not sure the brie, raisin, and spinach quiche was for me but a nice attempt nonetheless. As it's my tipple, it would be rude not to comment on another stellar lime and soda. Greater London really does seem to know its way around that particular beverage. Unfortunately, the main reason I was in attendance was the quiz. Very disjointed and not much fun hence the 3 stars.

Went on Mothering Sunday and did not book in advance so had to wait and hour for a table : understable. However we then had to wait almost as long for the food to arrive after ordering. Excellent food though. Left the pub and bit underwhelmed.

Great pub in the prestigious area of Vimbldona, plenty of tables inside and out in the courtyard. We were in winter, there is heating, you can ask for plaids. If there are no places inside, do not forget to sign up to the list of waiting table immediately upon arrival, and sit at a table in the yard, waiting your order. Everything was delicious, the classics of the genre. Helpful staff.

My favourite pub for food and drinks in Wimbledon village. Cozy and the right level of boisterous. Table service in the dining area provided, which is a very pleasant bonus.

Nice pub, originally was going to another pub in the area but chose here instead. Great selection of taps and a nice atmosphere.

The Quiz here was awful. This is, therefore, more of a quiz criticism then a pub criticism. Life gives you lemons eh…?

Went for a Sunday roast with friends only to wait almost an hour for our lunch. When I asked the third time when it was ready, I was told a wait time of 45mins was normal! Then finally our roast beef came well done. Again I was told that unless we specifically asked for medium, that's how they serve their roast beef. No apologies. It was our fault apparently. We didn't realise we had to tell the chef to serve our food medium! Our friends had duck and that was cooked to rubber too. The service was so bad, the food was worse. Very disappointing considering how much we looked forward to our meal. No discount offered or apologies. We will never return.

Friendly traditional pub in the heart of Wimbledon Village. Great food and beers etc. Extra special touch were the 'bar snacks' — more small 'starters' that are available on the bar to have with your drinks — great idea.

Love this place usually, food is lovely, but today had the worlds most miserable waitress. She looked actively cross with me for asking for some more gravy for our roast lunches. Made me feel so uncomfortable. Put a bit of a dampener on a nice afternoon.

Really lovely pub with nice back garden. Perfect place to enjoy those rare sunny days. Have only had the coffee, which was very nice, but I look forward to going back to try the food.

Food was OK but I wouldn't rush back here considering the range of eateries close by. Staff were efficient and friendly despite it being a busy Friday night. Bill was reasonable Cost. £60 for two courses for two people. Only ate here, didn't stay.

A very nice pub with good food, excellent service and is accessible to all. It is a great place to meet as there was no loud music to increase the noise level of the place, wonderful.

Very nice terrace, good service from nice staff all topped with some life music from a band. Ordered hamburgers, well executed with a generous side of crispy fried, there's not much I'd improve except perhaps the cheese (bit flavourless and kind of weird texture)

Great venue. Lots of seating, lovely outdoor area. Decent selection of beers, the usual Young's selection and some local breweries. They also show sports and serve some good food.

Great food and fairly priced, Parking can be a bit difficult so plan ahead as the area is notorious for it. Staff are really friendly and the prices are not what you would expect at Wimbledon village. I recommend the Calamari and Sea Bass main. Great seasoning. I would say do not be afraid to talk to the people in the next booth or hail a server as when it is busy the wait times for service can vary depending how many are on the floor. Overall a great place to go, has a very "proper" pub feel to it, modern styling in a classic setting but still feels like your down at the local with MUCH better food.

Visited this evening. Like other pubs in this area it's not cheap. With is a pity wen u cons idea Young who own it were once one of the most reasonably priced pub chains in London. Having said this the Rose and Crown Court is a pub of character and wixh like the Fox and Grapes. Ten minutes walk away has hardly changed since the seventies. Prefer it you nearby Dog and Fox.

Nice pub on the edge of Wimbledon Village. Decent range of drinks, and a good menu. No bookings on Sunday's, which I think is a great idea, which lends itself to a great atmosphere with locals and 'outsiders'. Always find early Sunday afternoon is a great time to eat, as the place thins out a bit. Great sports pub during the summer, as they erect a marquee in the car park out the back with a big screen.

The Rose and Crown in Wimbledon Village has been one of my favourite London pubs ever since the very early days before I even lived in the great city. Some of favourite drinking memories from the early days of exploring the city with Tiania Stevens were held here, as were several visits with my first London housemates to the regular Tuesday night pub quizzes. There have been more recent visits, including most of my birthdays for the past few years. The last time I propped up …the bar was with Mike Davies, when we were lucky to have blagged probably the best seats in the house. With all that history, it’s about time that the place had its own post on this blog. It already has its own bus stop, so this is the logical next step. The pub is broadly split into four areas, with the bar in the centre. To the front there is one bar room, kind of split by the bar itself, log fire to the right of the bar, and another fire with slightly more seating to the left. There are tables of all sizes, including two that will cater for six to eight people in their own corners. The back half is a reasonable sized dining area, with a couple of very comfy low slung sofas, and a smaller room next to the kitchen, which perhaps needs a bit more attention. Outside there’s a big beer garden, with decent heating. The food is reasonable, but not the best in the village, but the place has always seemed to me more of a drinking venue.

Nice pub, good outside area for catching the sun. I had the cheese burger which was good, and my girlfriend had the roast beef which was excellent. Quite pricey, but worth it.

Nice looking place. Good 'beer garden' in the back. Burgers are terrible however. Way over cooked even though we ordered them medium well they came out well well done. As no one came to ask how we were doing there was no one to complain to. So, choose your food carefully. And avoid the burgers.
