The hotel is very nice, the facilities are according to the price and the breakfast is very good. Only in my case, the room I was sold for two people is very small and the bed is one and a half. Before me claim I was told that they did not have more rooms to change us until the next day, but no one told me anything. Also, upon arrival at the hotel the room was not available and I was told that they could not assure me what time I was going to be available. Unfortunate… The rest very well, like all the visits we made to Mercure hotels in Europe and America.

Air con worked great, bed was super comfortable, room was a little dated but very tidy. Breakfast was great, a lot of variety (a la carte + buffet). Noise factor: my room was on the second floor (215) facing the the exhaust of the downstairs restaurant, it was impossible to open the window because of a) the smells and b) the noise. They provided earplugs, but this doesn't solve the strong smell issue. Another issue was thin walls; I could hear the neighbouring hotel guests laughing in the middle of the night and slamming their doors in the morning. They have the basics but it is a 3.5 star hotel at most.

Good location from Russell square underground. Makes it easier to travel between different areas of London. Overall the room was nice and well maintained, only thing I'd like more is just more room. In a single bedroom with a shower everything felt rather small.

Das Personal war nett und grundsätzlich hilfsbereit, trotzdem gelang es uns während unseres 4-tägigen Aufenthalts nicht, ein adäquates Zimmer zu bekommen. Im Klartext: Das Zimmer war sauber, ruhig gelegen und mit ensprechendem Komfort ausgestattet. Trotzdem: Das Bett, welches ein Doppelbett sein sollte, war nur 1.20 m breit. Das entspricht gerade einem etwas breiteren Einzelbett. Wir allerdings hatten ein Standard-Doppelzimmer gebucht, selbst nach den vom Hotel zur Verfügung gestellten Fotos hätte sich dort ein deutlich größeres Bett befinden müssen. Außerdem war die Matratze viel zu weich. Mühsam zu erwähnen, dass ein erholsamer Schlaf sowohl für Geschäftsreisen als auch im Urlaub unerlässlich ist. Bei unseren Recherchen stellten wir fest, dass es tatsächlich eine Variante von "kleines Doppelzimmer" in diesem Hotel gibt. Diese unterscheidet sich aber eben gerade durch das extraschmale Bett vom gebuchten Standard-Doppelzimmer. Schade.

The location is very convenient. They offer free Wi-Fi up to 3 devices. Not all rooms have frig, but they can keep stuff in their back office.

The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful, but the rooms are way too small. The hot water takes too long to come out, the faucets are weird, and the walls are paper thin. It's fine for a cheap place to stay for a night, but don't stay there for an extended time.

Good hotel located near Russell Square and then in central London well served by public transportation great breakfast and neat and clean rooms.

Small, clean, relaxed, friendly place close to the British Museum and Russell Square station, and not far from Kings Cross station… so good access to London Airports.

Comfortable clean room, to the standard you'd expect for Mercure. Pleasant staff on the reception desks, with luggage storage facilities. Perfect for an overnight stay.

Very good hotel with a very good Italian restaurant.

I'm reviewing the Marco restaurant attached to the Mercure only. The food was fresh, delicious and served quickly. Service was great — there were some families around us with small children, who seemed well catered for by the staff. All in all this was a good restaurant — the food didn't blow me away, but priced similarly to the pizza express a few doors down, I would chose this place any day.

Boutique Hotel Very well located next to Russell Square. Very small room with a comfortable King size bed. Need renovation because of the aging rooms. Example: Bathroom heating out of use. Good breakfast buffet. Room Service fast.

I was there on business and it was all I wanted. I had a single room which was adequate. Nice shower, comfy bed and the breakfast was just right. I will stay there again.

Very central, welcoming staff, breakfast is at expected level for this kind of hotel, rooms are cost and confortable, good bed quality. Bathroom heating system was Not working but they rapidely found a solution. At expected level vs. Price for such a central place.

Disappointing accessibility, there is no disabled access without using a very precarious ramp that takes ages for the staff to get out, but no way to get the attention of the reception staff so stuck out in the cold and had to ask strangers to go in and get someone. The room had clearly not been designed or advised by someone who uses a wheelchair, quite impractical layout, no rails in the shower area, shower head out of reach, bed in front of the curtains so can't pull them from a wheelchair, double doors to get to the room etc etc. This isn't equaliry but a lesser service than other guests get and I won't stay there again as there are hotels that are truly accessible.

I went for a training weekend and we also had food there. The hotel is lovely, the meeting room was really nice and the food was great, especially the raspberry sorbet. The service was very attentive and we all had a great time there.

Good location close to the Metro, next to the British Museum.

Beautiful Hotel. Very well located. Lots of tasteful details. Very attentive. The rooms a little girls but very well equipped. I'd go back without thinking.

Fantastic 4-Star Hotel! I have been there for 3 times and will definitely stay here again! Thorough cleanliness, cozy, makes you feel special.

It was a very nice place. Hotel located close to theatres and museums, it allows you to move easily on foot or, for the most distant destinations, by subway. Easy access to Heathrow airport, the Russell Square stop of the Piccadilly line is within walking distance.

3 nights. The room was very clean and the breakfast was good. Really fits everything.

I stayed at Mercury only one night and fully enjoyed it. The reception staff was nice and helpful. My room was small and with a view to a small street and a fire escape staircase. I had everything I needed in my room: a coffee machine, bottles with still water and full equipment to wash my body. So I slept very well despite having visited Marco restaurant before. It belongs to Mercury and serves excellent food. Following the night I celebrated my breakfast and off I went to my duties!

Nice rooms but service needs work. Good location near British museum and tube. Rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff struggle to fill basic requests without multiple follow ups and housekeeping is inconsistent… I probably would stay elsewhere next time.

Great service from all staff. Excellent breakfast, and nice room, though no view. Good Wi-Fi Very attractive bathroom, good towels. Bed was too soft for my taste, but still had a good night's sleep. Very close to West End, about 30 minutes walk. Good bus connections to all parts of the city.

My son and I had a wonderful time in London. Your hotel was in a great location. The only things that we did not like were your sheet/comforter. It was very heavy and since we couldn't leave our air conditioner on during the night because it made popping noises, we woke up several mornings sweating. Everything else was lovely. Your breakfast was delicious!

Stay with breakfast for 3 nights in a single room. Nice and friendly hotel, great breakfast, great cleanliness of the rooms.

Very close to the center area British Museum and Kings Cross. Nice room with three beds, and not easy to find. New bathroom. In-room choice of soluble tea and coffee with service of mugs available. All very clean. Nice staff Adequate price. A bit noisy at night because it faces the street.

We were welcomed with a smile by a receptionist with 2 badges, one with her name "Auguste", one with "In training". Well done Auguste! You were very good at making us feel welcome and efficient at processing our registration. Our room was compact but had everything we needed and was well laid out. When visiting London, we arrive by train at Waterloo. We loved the fact that 4 bus routes can take us directly from Waterloo Station to Russell Square within a few yards from the hotel.

In a great location (Bloomsbury) This truly elegant and well-furnished hotel welcomes you with a service of great courtesy. The rooms are very nice and comfortable.

Great location. A bit of traffic noise (even on the 4th floor) as it's on a busy main road. We had a corner room (406) which was a decent size.

We'd stay here again. Although the room was tatty in places and smelled a little damp, it was good value for money.

Nice bedrooms, with a good location. Mattress was soft, with lots of pillows. Bathroom not heated as towel rail was disconnected, light in mirror comes on when bathroom door is opened, even in the middle of the night.

Very clean, very friendly staff, great rates, the beds were amazingly comfortable and they also looked after our luggage free of charge after we checked out for the rest of the day.

A most satisfactory hotel. We stayed four nights and it is all one could ask. Not luxurious, it is nonetheless very clean and comfortable. Wonderful beds. The staff is consistently very friendly and anxious to please. We had a standard room on the back so it was extremely quiet and conducive to a good night's rest. I do wish they had quiet-closers on the hall doors, some of the neighbors let them slam: the only noise we hear. The location is just about perfect for tourists. An easy three blocks to the British Museum or Library. Three minutes to the Russell Street tube/metro station. Six (count them, 6! ) bus lines stop right in front. Breakfast is not provided but they have a restaurant & bar attached, a Starbucks is two doors down, and every type of restaurant imaginable is within a block or so.

We had room 303, the staff was perfect, all made to we be nice despite the language barrier, there were two people at the reception who spoke french.
We had a problem of mattress, they gave us 3 drinks of our choice!
When we had problems, staff is involved in the hour that followed.
The continental breakfast is very good, lack can be English specialty outside the English breakfast.
The hotel is very well located and very well served.
Half an hour walk to all areas as Picadilly, Coven Garden, and many others.
Buses also very present are convenient and inexpensive.
The Monuments are also beautiful from the outside than inside, it may seem expensive but not as here, when you're inside everything is so well explained through the audio-guide!
Disappointment for the National Gallery… waiting for more than an hour and a half… without explanation even in English… all of this in the rain… not friendly at all… more than half of the Museum was closed without knowing why…

I visited the restaurant (pre-booked) with my friends — one of them in the wheelchair. We were made to feel very uncomfortable. So uncomfortable that I decided not to eat in the end. 3 of my friends wanted to order a carvery — advertised as a traditional carvery — this ended up to be frozen undercooked vegetables with only choice of meat being beef. When couple of us said we would only have a drink they tried to persuade us to choose from the menu — despite me saying I really didn't want to eat. Oh and they will charge you a "cover" per head which they don't tell you about and even from the receipt it is not clear how much per head it was. Most annoying thing was that our friend in the wheelchair was getting looks, and was treated in a very disrespectful way — is HE going to eat? does HE want a drink? Will not be going back ever again. And if you are not Angelina Jolie don't bother going in as you will not be made feel very welcome.

Booked the day before. They tried to put us off when they realised we would have a wheelchair user with us. By saying they were busy. But when we arrived it was empty. Not surprised as the food was poor. Frozen undercooked veg. And staff abrupt. We were charged a sit down charge per head as well! what a rip off.

Only used the restaurant. We came with a friend in a wheelchair we felt like we were In the way and we're not made to feel comfortable. They only had beef on the menu for roast dinners and not all of us wanted to eat and so only had a drink. It was obvious they were not happy about that and we were being spyed on. Manager seemed snooty and blunt. Maybe they don't want our type in their empty establishment.

Great staff and great service, but the food could do with a little work. Beautiful clean, modern, quiet restaurant only 1 min walk from British Museum. Check Amazon Local for deals.

If you like indian food please Try The Taj Restaurant in 10 Carlton Parade Orpington Kent BR6 0JB open 7 days a week Monday to Saturday 5.30pm to 11.30pm and Sunday 5.30pm to 11.00pm.

Had a wonderful 2 night stay. Room was spacious, clean and very well equipped. Location superb for all we wanted to do. The staff couldn't do enough to help. Highly recommend — will return.

Really enjoyed my stay here. My room was small, but was extremely clean and well equiped with everything I needed. For the price it's definitely one of the better hotels I've stayed in in London. Breakfast was alright but nothing special.
