City View Hotel - Roman Road Market Hotel

Mostly an ok stay. Breakfast and Wi-Fi. Shortage of nightlife in the immediate area but this isn't a real problem in London. I DID arrive home with several suspicious bug bites on me. Only saw one living insect in my room, but I'm very sure I didn't get them from anywhere else. You take what you get when you're on a budget, but it shouldn't be too much to ask to keep control over pests.

This hotel is great you don't need a alarm for wake up Because women get a asault and the best part is the stuff didn't call the police so we as a guest we have the do that.

Stayed at Roman Road Market and what a great experience it has been! I cannot compliment the staff enough, especially those who, served us. We were treated like royalty, nothing was too much trouble, the room we had was 107 which was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. I look forward to staying there again when next in London. Could it ever be this good again? l hope so and thank you.

Delicious breakfast, room was small but has tv. 10-15 minutes to the nearest tube/bus stop.

We stayed a week here at the Market View by Bridge street mid November an unusually chilly November at that with temperatures in single digits but had a warm reception and comfortable stay at these cosy apartments tucked in between offices and quaint old streets. Ours was a three room duplex with complete kitchen and laundry. Its well positioned in the centre of London just walking distance to the Farmington underground and St Paul's Cathedral. Buses right in front of the apartments took us easily to Kings cross station and Harry potter land. The kids enjoyed the rooms which were comfortable and had really soft and cosy beds as well as the spiral staircase leading upstairs into the living area and kitchen. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook our meals from making pizzas and grilling lamb chops. We didn't use the laundry facilities though provided cos it was after all pretty cold and not much to change for. Also no instructions on how to operate it. The bathrooms were smallish with a tub and shower in each but minimal toiletries. Please bring your own so as not to be disappointed. Furnishing basic and old but enough to be comfortable. Definately not Five star but value for money. Its self sufficient for travelers who are there for the sights and sounds and not luxurious accommodations. You can come home to a restful sleep in a quiet environment with a few nice eateries around the place and a Tesco extra if you need a TV dinner.

Wish I could give this a zero star review, awful stay at the hotel then after they used the card used for payment themselves! Read other review saying this and did not think it could be true yet it's happened to me, disgusting, should not be open.

Cheap but very simplistic. Suitable for small stay.

Nothing for young people, even if it's cheap. Why? From 03:00 to 07am, the reception is not staffed and the hotel is closed.

Zero Star! Worst hotel, everything (room, service, condition etc) are horrible, business should be closing down.

Location is great but room tiny, shower and toilet together and felt unhygienic. People rude and make you leave keys if you want to leave which is awkward as my stuff was in the room. Just felt sketchy.

Basic hotel. Good for a cheap nights stay. Good location to the Olympic park and Stratford City shopping centre (Westfields)

Very tough place to stay. Very very small rooms and unclean bathroom. Just using fan in the room and lacks even basic ventilation. All are just namesake. Even had to pay full amount and moreover deducted extra 45 pound from my linked card. Very unprofessional people and had an unpleasant stay. I caught sick after staying for 3 nights. When rains it falls into the room and bed. Never recommed this to anyone. No value for money!

Do NOT book here I have stayed here multiple times over the years and haven't had any issues until recently. My last 3 visits here, the day after I get a call from my bank about suspicious transactions on my account! First time it was odd and I thought nothing of it, second time I thought it was just a coincidence and now the third time there just can be no defence! It now makes sense why they take your full card details and personal details online to 'reserve' your room before being made to pay the full upfront cost upon check in, this is so they have your card details and billing address. I will not be staying here again. This has been reported to the police and the bank will be passing on the IP address to the action fraud team who are now investigating this hotel as they have stated to me it may well be part of a wider scam due to the number of city view hotel sites. Be careful if you are still booking here and ensure you constantly check your bank for fraudulent activity!

Friendly staff. Minimal facilities but enough for just a short overnight break. Very reasonably priced for the location.

We're guests in this hotel from 8 to July 13, 2014. Call it hotel is an understatement but: the bed there is a fridge and small bath but with what you need, there is also the tv. It is connected very well with Liverpool station with bus number 8 day and night, then the 25 or the 225 leading to bow church. It is in zone 2 and when we return to London we will book again! friendly staff and good value for money!

Shown pictures are absolutley faked. There have been mould in our room everywhere and also the bathrooms were really dirty — we didnt even use the bathroom because it was sooo dirty. Our bed had a lot of stains so that we tried to stay in our room as less as possible. For breakfast we just got 2 slices of toast and just a tiny bit of jam. Our cups and all the other things were dirty —. — You can just survive this 'hotel' when you are drunk. Never stay there, it was horrible!
