I had booked to stay at the hotel between 26-29 May. The purpose of my visit was to attend the Chelsea Flower Show with a number of friends. The room cost £719 — a very large sum for anyone, including me. I booked it through Expedia. Unfortunately I tested positive for Covid 19 on the evening of 24 May 2022. I have worked in the public service, going out to work each day, throughout the pandemic and this is my first infection. When I asked the hotel if I could move the booking by a few weeks I was told to contact Expedia. That was not a satisfactory experience. I phoned the hotel again and was told that there was generally some latitude when a person had fallen ill with Coronavirus. I contacted Expedia again and was told they would contact me before check in to confirm the position as the hotel manager was not working last night. Having not heard anything, and being anxious about the loss of £719, I contacted Expedia this afternoon and was told that the hotel had declined to make an exception and alter the dates even if I sent them evidence of my illness. I asked if Expedia could not bring any pressure to bear given their position in the marketplace but was told not. In summary, I have now lost £719 as I am not well enough to travel. I visit London several times a year and have stayed in many of its hotels. The lack of any proper customer service or empathy in the time of pandemic has shocked and disappointed me. It is a further blow on top of my illness.

The position of the hotel right in the middle of Leicester Square makes it perfect for a visit to London. The staff were friendly and helpful and the rooms very spacious. I would recommend this hotel and hope to return sometime.

Absolutely amazing stay here at this lovely hotel, on arrival upgraded to a junior suite which was very spacious and overlooked Leicester Square, all staff we encountered were friendly and professional, breakfast was fantastic, loads of hot and cold choices and lovely pastries and chilled meats and cheeses etc as well as a full breakfast served from their hot buffet, would love to stay at this hotel again, so convenient for all theatres and vast choice of bars and restaurants. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Delightful hotel in the most amazing place! Love it!

I've never stayed in the rooms before however the service in their restaurant is amazing. Not just the food but the service is of great quality. It's clean, hygienic and in very top condition. There's seating both inside and outside and they are able to cater as much as needed. I have recommended this place to all of my friends and family. I hope the workers will be rewarded for all their hard work. There's a fairly tall Italian speaking Filipino guy that is really professional and kind.

It is a wonderful place with excellent service from all the staff (especially the lovely porters). Excellent and comfortable rooms although a bit expensive. I also recommend it.

We stayed in a family room for about a week. Very convenient location and the rooms were clean. We were greeted with a plate of chocolate dipped strawberries when we checked in which was a nice gesture. The family room that we were in was very spacious and the toilet had a door separating it from the rest of the bathroom which was a convenient design.

Nice Hotel. 5 Star treatment. I highly recommend if you around Piccadilly area. I would definitely come back!

Awesome location. An easy walk to all the popular locations. Theaters are all close by. Right in the middle of the craziness of Leicester Square. You cannot go wrong booking here.

I took my daughter for her first ever afternoon tea here yesterday; the ambience in the Hampshire Lounge was wonderful, and the staff couldn’t have been more welcoming — especially the Concierge and the charming gentleman at the bar with the fabulous tattoos — what a smile! :-) The food was delicious… I fully intend to book a room here so that I can try the whole experience — thank you everyone! x.

I stayed here for one night on 24/02/2018 for my gf 21st birthday. We was staying in a double king superior room and our stay could not have been better. Our room was beautiful, clean and very spacious with a great view of the London Eye from our window. The bed was very large and comfortable and the bath room was very clean. We had breakfast room service the next morning which came exactly on time and the food was delicious. All of the staff made our stay wonderful as they were lovely and was all wishing my boyfriend a happy birthday. They catered to our every need and made our stay perfect. I will definitely be back! Nice.

The staff are friendly and helpful. Try to explain everything in detail. Unfortunately the rooms are not well soundproofed so if there are any chipping customers you will hear them. The bathroom is nice big and the furniture well maintained.

An Elegant hotel, in repair. Maybe That's why you lack some space and service. Otherwise very good.

Sadly our say was not great. Our first room was very small our second was over looking the very busy building site that we had not been informed about. We were staying with my parents and we had requested that both rooms bedding be changed from duvets to sheets and blankets due to the heat etc. On our arrival back from our evening out, neither rooms had been changed and had to return to reception to request for sheets and blankets and made the beds ourselves. I had found the whole moving rooms quite a negotiation with the reception staff mainly due to how busy they were and I was constantly reminded how much some rooms were, when spending almost £300 per night you should be able to comfortably be able to walk around the bed and should not have to explain that if it’s an upgrade, better that than an unhappy customer!
Gym very small and limited equipment for the size of the hotel. Otherwise it was ok, staff were helpful and have reduced our rate slightly, but were let down by very poor communication.

Smart hotel, excellent staff and service. Rooms are very comfortable but you need to pay the premium if a decent outside view is important. Wasn't impressed by the revamped dining area, it's too cramped. Cocktail bar again too cramped, would improve the atmosphere if that incessant noise from the speakers was turned off. My verdict is, try another hotel next time.

Good breakfast, good room, sensational location.

Great location. Excellent restaurant. Room was quiet… at the rear of the hotel, but rather dated and disappointing. However the staff were charming and helpful. Be prepared to carry your bags to the hotel… overall a reasonable stay, and close to everywhere in London!

Fantastic location in the heart of Leicester Square. Friendly and helpful staff who were able to get us a reservation in a great restaurant at short notice on a Saturday night. Room well presented.

I got a free upgrade to a room overlooking the square. The view is really great and the location is amazing since it's so central. There are a lot of restaurants in walking distance and the tube is a short walk away. The room is very nice and clean and staff are very friendly. Will stay here again if I get a chance!

Really disappointed of the Radisson, host in full work, we were not warned share the direction nor the organizers of Pokerstar, my boyfriend had a poker tournament, impossible to sleep in the morning 7am waking up by the workers right in front of our window. It is irresponsible and disrespectful to offer such a service especially as the rooms are expensive. We will make a Mail to Pokerstar, because even ke Sunday there are works.

Disappointment and rip off. People rating this hotel 5 stars probably either have very low standards, or paid for luxury rooms. The standard double rooms in this hotel are small and old-fashioned, barely deserve 3 stars. No jokes, it's like you're staying at your grandparents unrefurbished spare room, not a 5 star double room. Room layout is inconvenient (who puts the TV in the old cupboard on the side? ), windows have no curtains so have to keep blinds down all the time, unless your window is facing the wall, like ours did. Double bed felt tiny, and we're not big people either! Room switch or upgrade unavailable because the hotel was fully booked. I am shocked how Radisson can sell this hotel as a 5 star, if it's only because of the central location then it's irrelevant to the hotel itself, and central location only guarantees noise 24/7. The only good thing about this hotel is the fact you can leave and they'd open the door for you.

Fantastic location, and surprisingly very quiet! Staff were very helpful. They were happy storing luggage before and after our stay, and the room was much bigger than I've had at other London hotels. We didn't try the breakfast or restaurant, but it looked very smart. I'd definitely stay again.

Great hotel, very professional service in every way, the location estracticamente located, would return to the same hotel in a next time and would recommend without a doubt, special congratulations to the breakfast staff!

Poor service — despite booking direct 6 weeks in advance a twin room and checking in on line and at 11:30 in the day we were then told at 6:30 that they didn’t have a room. So after Wong promised half price I slept badly on a put me up bed to only be told it was a 25% discount that has so far not been refunded! Poor show

Absolutely amazing service from the moment we walked in. It was my daughters seventh birthday and all the reception staff made a really special effort and made a real fuss of her. The suite was amazing and again the staff made it extra special for us all. We will be returning and would recommend this hotel and amazing staff without hesitation.

Five Star Hotel for the location it has, very centrally located with helpful and friendly staff. Rooms very small and very old, the one we got to us had the bed very stuck to the door and you could hear everything. The tub is so high that for older people it is a problem. The breakfast buffet has little choice and every day was the same. They say they speak Spanish and it's not true.

We went for a drink prior to a BFI event and it was ridiculously busy. Alot of areas were held off for private parties, however the staff were incredibly efficient and I was served at the bar quickly. Then as I was waiting for a friend the waiter kindly let me sit in a roped off area. The drinks are a good price considering the location and I can't rate the staff gift enough.

Only had a glass of wine but could see the food being cooked and being taken to the tables and it looked and smelt amazing! Staff were great and very friendly. Will go there to eat so.

Very centrally located hotel albeit in the heart of touristville. Super clean and cozy with nice attentive staff like all the Radisson Edwardians. Pain points include super small rooms, no kettle or coffee in rooms, and postage stamp size fitness room with no weights under 9kg.

Newly renovated and very nice hotel. The staff is professional and very friendly.

The hotel is in a very central location. I had an amazing view of Big Ben and the London Eye. The rooms are very small but nice. The style is more antique which I personally didn't mind. I found my room suitable for one person, staying there with two people would have been difficult as the room was made to just fit the bed. Staff is extremely friendly. Housekeeping sadly missed to refill several items like cups, spoons, etc. On more than one day of my stay. Breakfast was very nice but the same items are served each day and as I stayed for 5 nights I would have enjoyed more of a variety. I found the bathtub/shower to be difficult to get in and out of and almost fell one morning. Overall I had a good stay and wouldn't mind staying there again.

Food and atmosphere amazing. Service not so much. Despite reserving a nice table for our anniversary we were put on a tiny table next to a door that let a massive draught in whenever it was opened. The staff upon hearing that we weren't happy moved us to be fair to them. The food is just incredible and the cocktails great but small for the price you are paying. Had a great night but left on a sour note as I was told an initial payment hadn't gone through so payed again but account balance shows the money having gone out twice!

This is a lovely hotel, couldn't be in a better location as central to so many places. The hotel staff are an amazing team, everyone we came into contact with were helpful, polite and friendly. The room was spacious and had everything we needed and more but the one thing I would recommend above all else was the breakfast. The quality, choice and presentation was first class. By far the best 'hotel breakfast experience' ever. Will definitely be returning and would highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel has a great location on the south end of Leicester Square. All the West End theatres are within walking distance. The hotel staff were friendly and gave me a complimentary drink when my room wasn't ready on time during check-in. The room felt a little dated which is probably keeping with the Edwardian theme. The window frame had a small gap which was allowing noise in. This was my biggest complaint. I chose to have breakfast in the room on Sunday and chose a full English breakfast. There was however some confusion with my egg order because I didn't tick one of the options poached or scrambled. However the menu did not give you an option for fried which was the standard. Suffice it to to say this was missing but the server noticed immediately and rectified this. On the whole a great stay. I would also recommend their ground floor restaurant and bar.

The hotel was in a perfect spot. Right on Leicester square. Close to everything in London. The service was incredible, rooms were clean and beautiful. Breakfast included a large variety of foods and was delicious. Would stay at this Radison Blu again next time in London.

Main reason for low review is the toilets. They are a death trap, very slippery. Actually suffered an injury from a hard fall. My friends who were staying in separate rooms had the same complaint. I made a complaint to the reception on check out, they better do something about it. Location is good. Service is good. Rooms are okay.

I stayed here years ago (pre TA) and had a good experience. I selected the Hampshire again based on this experience and prime location. I stayed in a standard/executive room and value wise it was a pretty decent deal inclusive of breakfast (which is charged separately at £23 if not part of a bundle). The concierge service is second to none — really attentive and responsive to your needs. Check in and check out was friendly and efficient. No issues during my stay. Few comments on the room: generally clean but just getting a bit tired around the edges and needing a refurbishment. The bed was comfortable and room noise very good for a hotel on Leicester Square. Aircon in the room, minibar and tea & coffee facilities — although a biscuit would have been nice. Complimentary water (for 1) is also supplied. Toiletries are refillable wall mounted which aren't my preference, but they were decent quality. Breakfast offering was good but service very sketchy on the Monday morning I visited. Seemed like some tables were getting too much attention and others not enough — this needs ironing out. Also, buffet replenishment needs to be quicker as items were quickly running out. The quality of the breakfast however was very good. I would stay again, no problem at all, but I would expect a better service experience in the restaurant and would hope to have a recently refurbished room next time.

A good solid hotel unfortunately was under going refurbishment while I stayed but I could see the potential.

If you like indian food please Try The Taj Restaurant in 10 Carlton Parade Orpington Kent BR6 0JB open 7 days a week Monday to Saturday 5.30pm to 11.30pm and Sunday 5.30pm to 11.00pm.

Good but a bit small for four stars.
