The rating might seem harsh but it's in comparison to other 4* rated hotels. I stay in a lot of hotels for work so have got a good feel for quality for money. If I had paid my own money to stay here I would have been very disappointed. The room (801) felt cheap and old and wasn't finished to a high standard. I was on the ground floor by the street and there was a lot of noise until around midnight and then again in the morning. The bed was comfortable enough and the staff were polite. However, unless you need to stay in this area I would suggest taking your money elsewhere as you can get much nicer hotels for the same price.

Great value for money! The staff was friendly and the rooms were clean. The neighborhood was very calm too, but close to restaurants and subway.

Close to the greek cathedral St. Sofia and Hyde park or Kensington Gardens. Good zone.

Reasonable price for Hotel in London. Small room with smaller bathroom. Nice British breakfast with pleasant service. However, I didn't have a good experience with receptionist.

Location: this hotel is within easy walking distance to bus stops and multiple underground stations, so is very well connected Rooms: clean, tidy and very comfortable. The room I was in only had a very small TV, but that didn't matter as I didn't watch it! Service: no complaints here.

Twin bed rooms are small but cozy. It's located very close to Hyde park and 2 local underground transportation.

Quite adequate. Stayed in a two twin room. Good breakfast. Short walk to restaurants and tube.

Attended class sessions at Princes Square. Quite enjoyed the space and central location. Staff was mostly accommodating, although there was some confusion about letting us use the breakfast room to meet.

The personnel is friendly and the rooms are clean, but it's a bit overpriced for what it is. It's considered a 4-star hotel, but I would classify it as an upper-tier 3-star hotel. The single room I had was tiny, with no drawers for my clothes, barely any space to be on and pretty bad view outside, plus breakfast not included.

Great hotel located a stone's throw from Hyde Park and Notting Hill. Comfortable and clean rooms.

Local hotel in London is relatively cheap, although the price is still high, good picking is a penny, what facilities are good. Location very good, very close to Bayswater underground station, less than a five-minute walk to the past, so more convenient. Good friends said from Queensway station is also very close, but I didn't notice …

They do not offer wash clothes or hand towels. They give you simply a towel to dry off with and nothing else. When we asked for some they looked at us like it was a crazy request. They apparently just rub down with a bar of soap which left me feeling dirty. We were able to locate a near by drug store and purchase some wash clothes of our own, but when you are paying 170 pounds per night you would like this service included. They web site also proudly displays they have Wi-Fi in every room, but they didn't state its 10 pounds a day. It was an okay place to stay, but only offers the bare minimum to its guests.

Face towels no! Clean bad. The floor is dirty and no Slippers. Neighbors can hear perfectly (you respectively too). 4 stars does not pull.

LOCATION Located in the heart of romantic and impressive Bayswater this is a magical hotel on a unique spot. Without any noise from the very busy London traffic this place is an oasis. We particularly loved the fact there were no carpets, pillows and other dusty stuff because I am allergic and we slept like roses. I loved the plants on the balcony and the pigeons and occasional robin, All these things made me feel at home because because I am from the country side and never expected to find those in a metropolis like London. That metropolis however is just around the corner, we spent a great deal of time in close by Kensington park, my favorite, and Hyde park. Shopping was a joy with such a variety of shops all very close by as is marks and spencers in a fabulous mole, that was inside a fantastic historical building. Lots of restaurants and churches are in the area as well. ROOMS Our rooms were magical with rounded outer walls high windows and ceilings and a great view on the stunning architecture with so many details, in the entire street. The bath really was a bonus and filled with very hot water in a jiffy. We also appreciated the fact that one can use ventilation, air conditioning and heating individually as one likes it. Rooms are spacious enough, There is free Wifi in the rooms, so not just in the public spaces, for as many appliances as one has got. Nice screen-size TV and good audio amenities are also in the room.

The pictures they post are a joke. Our room was so small the door hit the bed when you opened it. And it wasn't our first room — they had us in a room with 2 twin beds and we had to go back to the front desk to change it. The shower never drained and we had to stop the water after 2 minutes to let it drain and then continue the shower for another 2 minutes. The breakfast was worse than really bad hospital food — we never bothered after attempting it the first day. Our room wasn't even cleaned one day, and the front desk did nothing when we complained about the shower. The construction out front kept us up most nights (they didn't really ever seem to stop) and we got 4 stations on the TV, which was so high up towards the ceiling we didn't even notice it for a half hour when we arrived. I would never stay there again or recommend it. The only reason it has two stars instead of 1 is because it's better than sleeping in the subway.

We just spent the weekend at this Hotel the location was great, a lovely area and right next to Hyde Park. The hotel its self was clean but basic and had all you need, although the staff were a bit abrupt, breakfast is cleared away very quickly and we were told rather rudley that breakfast had finished although we were still eating, and the receptionist was just going through the motions. We probably wouldn't stay again unless we were desperate.
