One of the worst experiences with any hotel that I have stayed in. The worst part is that there is no lift for taking your luggage to any of the rooms and you haha to drag the same on the narrow staircase to the room allotted to you. There is also no person available to help you in this as well. Second worst part is that you can hear any sound that the persons living above your room make. Couldn't sleep because there was a family with kids living above the room allotted to us. There is also no person to take care of any needs that you have. The reception is a 6 by 6 feet area which can accommodate a two persons at the most. The rooms are on two sides of the road and you can be given any room on any side of the road.

Very good location, the breakfast little varied but the comfort of the hotel justifies every pound. Back 100%

Location was amazing but service and finishing not good at all simple breakfast just location is the good thing there room also very tide.

The hotel has an excellent location but, as usual with the hotels in London, Spain would hardly go from being a 1 star hotel despite the fact that its price is normally above €140. The reception is accessed by a narrow staircase, next to an Italian restaurant where breakfast is served, and at the reception you pick up a key to go to the rooms that are in a building across the street. Especially surprising is the sign in the room in which it is said that it will punish those who throw objects from the window to the street, which makes you think about what type of guests have visited the hotel.

Great place rooms we're very clean. Staff very pleasant location 10/10. Didn't want to give a good review as everyone would want to use it but it was so good and great value it would be wrong to give this great place a less than great review. If your doing stuff in this part of London USE this economical hotel. If your not in this part of town but want a great value hotel use it anyway. Recommenced.

For the location and price, I’m giving it 5 stars. Lived on the first floor, quiet, room decent sized, Toilet is clean beds are ok.

Great location. Perfect for us boys watching football. Maybe not so good for family with small kids?

Beware the double charging scam. We were asked to pay online and on arrival, and spent a while demanding a refund. Otherwise, it's conveniently located but shabby inside. Reminded me of old student accommodation but at five times the price.

Big advantage is near the city but really small room.

We needed a room at a reasonable price for 7 ppl and stumbled upon this accommodation. We were very pleasantly surprised to find a very spacious and comfortable room. Beds were very comfy and I slept well. Plenty of hot water for all of us. Perfect location, literally just off Oxford Street! Well suited for a base whilst sightseeing, shopping. Would definitely use again.

Noisy! In room 7 fourth floor. I would find it more acceptable if the ventilation was more quiet. There is constant humm of a restaurant extraction fan or airco. So far realy clean rooms except for the ceiling in the bathroom. Could be fixed easily by making it possible to secure an open window in the bathroom. See photo added. Breakfast is late at 8:00, will update on that tomorrow. Wi-Fi is not free but 5 pound per day. I think the cleaning lady or man would like a better vacuum cleaner. It smells dusty. They now seem to use a red Henry that is parked next to fire extinguisher in a bit dangerous way. I had a Henry my self. It does not suck that good. I can recommend a Dyson. Hint, there is a Dyson store on Oxford Street. I would recommend a small one for the stairs. Having both a small and big Dyson myself. Location next to Oxford Street is nice.

The location is good and hotel is comfortable enough. However we had booked a triple room for three adults but seems the hotel wanted to try and give us a double room that had a pull out bed. So we were put in two rooms the first night then had to move to the room we had actually booked for the second night. Quite inconvenient as we had to vacate the room with all of our things to check in again the next day. Triple room was next to reception so a lot of footsteps up the stairs to and from through the night. Also people smoked right outside the main door downstairs and ours was the first room at the top so regularly got the smell of smoke in the room. Breakfast is fine. Cereal, toast and crossaint but the orange and apple juice was either very cheap or has been severely watered down. Good location really helps but felt the price charged wasn't ideal given the inconveniences we went through.

This was a budget stay at a terrific price but in Mayfair just off Oxford Street near Bond Street. Not a five star hotel but perfect for central London. Clean, comfortable.

If you had asked me yesterday about my stay here at the mermaid suite hotel I would have said it's fine. Great value for the location. Today I rescind my recommendation. At 9:30 this morning the fire alarm went off. No one from management came to our building (#9) not did anyone from the fire service appear. Reception was empty so couldn't get help there. Finally after waiting 10 minutes outside were went back in and I called "reception. " They picked up on first ring and said they'd take care of it. 2 mins later the alarm was off. Not sure I'd ever stay here again if they don't even know a fire alarm in a walk up is going off!

Great price, decent area. Close to tube station. Decent sized room.

The central location is a real amenity. The rooms are clean and cozy.
Breakfast is not plentiful but good quality.

Conveniently located, clean and cosy rooms, WI-Fi Internet is not available for a fee. Lift, stairs only.

Acceptable price for such a central location. 1-glass windows. Really firm bed (ouch). Toilet/bathroom was of good standard. Wifi available at a cost but more expensive than a temporary 3G roaming plan. Breakfast was "continental", meaning yoghurt, a selection of cereal, coffee machine with various "instant" type coffees, a juice machine with lukewarm beverages. Accompanied by some toast, a croissant and a basket of butter and jams. I would absolutely stay here again, and recommend it to friends, but don't expect anything fancy.
