Don’t stay here in the summer. They have no air conditioning. Rooms are sweat boxes. I feel sorry for the staff trying the clean the place in the heat. They’re nice and they do a good job.

The hotel staff were great! Greeted by Dominika, cases up by Sabi, (who also bought meals after a fall in Bath, England left me with a cane and leg brace). Niki and Francesca especially went out of their way to accommodate me, and the breakfast was varied, with very good coffee, and very good service. Bathroom in 407 challenging for space, bedroom (single) small by North American standards, but cozy and adequate for my needs.

Hotel near Oxford Street (5 minutes walk), so to promote several shops.
The rooms are quite small but this is enough to stay there for a few days.

I stayed here last week and I am still a bit traumatized. I'll reduce this review to a list of pros and cons. Pros: friendly staff, dinner and breakfast included with my reservation, excellent location (heart of Oxford Circus and West End, near the tube, plenty of places in walking distance), offered private car service to/from Heathrow airport, elevator, food pretty good, Internet capabilities, very little outside noise Cons: very narrow elevator (maximum capacity = 2 ppl with carry-on luggage only), long strands of hair on bed (gross! ), member of staff just walked into my room without knocking upon my request for help with an issue in my room, no instructions for light switches (how on earth is one to know that you have to put your hotel key in the pocket for lights to work? ), unclear phone buttons (should be able to reach Concierge easily without trying to translate phone dials), when I arrived tired and jet-lagged, someone was working in the attic and the door was completely obstructing the narrow hallway — after getting no answer from the person above I had to maneuver myself very carefully around the door with heavy luggage, radiator sticky and did not work (I was freezing), shower caps had large holes in it, in restaurant I caught the kitchen staff unloading bread with bare hands (yuck! ), hair in my salad, beds in Executive Single Room were very uncomfortable; bathrooms very narrow, toilets did not flush completely.

Nice, clean, friendly staff. We got an offer and with only 120 euros we had a comfortable room right in the center of London.

Small, quaint rooms have no AC, which is pretty common for older London hotels. Though there is a small warmer for hanging clothes, there is no bureau for folded clothes. It's quiet and nicely decorated. Staff is nice.

Staff were friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and tidy but the only issue I had was with the size of the room as there was little room to move around the side of the bed.

Attended a business conference. The room was heated at a insistent temperature which was pleasing. Catering was excellent except for provision of instant decaf coffee. Some filter would have been nice. There was no soya milk on offer for the refreshments and I suspect the event organisers didn't order enough sandwiches.

Initial impression, ok, bit sparse and odd reception but staff seemed pleasant enough. Booked a single room and was surprised at how small it was but it was clean and seemed recently refurbished. The biggest problem was the noise! Room G4 is next to the lift space so most of the night up to 2.30 was clanks, bangs, creaks, whirrs and rumbles! It was intermittent after that until about 6 am when it began again… AWFUL! I called reception and complained but they could not do anything as they were fully booked. As I was staying the next night as well and it’s new year week it left me with no alternatives. I don’t think they should let the room at all unless they warn the person and heavily discount it. It was the same the last night from 9 pm until 2.45, when I called again to complain and they told me that they would turn the lift off! Anyway, hardly any sleep, very bad service too as when I checked out no one commented or asked about my experience. Wouldn’t stay again.

Great location, nice place to meet, but the staff are not well trained, and have poor command of English, so cannot give you thd service you might hope for. Will still go there, but could be so much better.

Very compact room but hotel has a great location. No air conditioning but a fan and at least the window opened wide. Comfortable bar but no draft beer and ropey wine. Excellent breakfast. Staff helpful and friendly. Free copy of China Daily!

The unusual facade of this former Nurses Home (1901) bequeathed by the Howard De Walden Estates all glazed 'sanitary' tiles evinced contemporary medical modernity. Idiosyncratic and eccentric and worth a diversion if adrift in the environs. Currently a hotel.

I recently stayed here with a colleague for a training course — the hotel couldn't have been better placed for us — very central for our needs. The staff at the hotel were very helpful. Rooms were more than adequate for what we required, bathroom a little small, but very clean and we had all we wanted. The food was exceptional during the day, we had food provided on the course — first class and plenty of choice. We will certainly think about using this hotel in the future for other matters be it for work or personal purposes. Thanks to all concerned.

Okay, first of all I'm a pretty optimistic person, I try to find the good in everything, just like the staff is friendly — yet have next to none english vocabulary — and the fact that the hotel is close to all the shops around which is pretty decent. But thinking economically, this hotel is a big no-no, for 118£ you get a really compact room, beds aren't really confrontable and the coffee tastes awful. Aside from that the bathroom — even though being small — is a minimalist's heaven, everything is fitted nicely and the water is warm. In conclusion, if you are an average person with average income, no, I DO NOT recommend this hotel. If you are a multi-billionaire who is looking for a minimalist average stay, this is the place for you to stay.

Friendly staff but very small room. Like all the Grange Hotels, TV is very stuttery which is annoying. Good for location but there are better hotels nearby.

This is my 2nd stay at this hotel and for £70 for a twin room inc breakfast, I don't think it can be beaten. The rooms are clean and the beds very comfortable, it's also very quiet which in my experience is unheard of in London hotels. This stay we had a twin on the ground floor and I don't consider it to have been small as previous reviews state, the bathroom had a shower and a bath and was a good size. Continental breakfast was also v good. Would receommend and will return to this hotel when back working here in 6 months. A good tip is to book early and direct with the grange website, you get the better deal that way.

Very friendly home, lots of services including booking the tour of London by bus including a ride on the Thames. The rooms are very clean, the bathroom spacious with the newspaper waking up in front of the door. The breakfast in the dining room, a buffet, gives the possibility to eat in French or according to local customs. The staff are very friendly.
