Pleasant and quiet interior, impeccable service and a bit high prices.

Expensive place, but you have to go once in your life. I took the afternoon tea with a group of friends. Plenty of food and live music.

We absolutely loved having afternoon tea here! It was a fantastic experience from beginning to end! It’s not 100% traditional, but that’s part of why we loved it! Everything was delicious, and the venue is absolutely gorgeous!

Amazing place. Chilled relaxed. The service is impeccable. Derren the Bar Manger was informative, engaging and a lovely guy. Had a whiskey tasting masterclass. It's a refreshing change to go somewhere where people actually care you enjoy what your drinking. All the staff were attentive and friendly. Highly recommended, better to go here and have a chat with an expert who's passionate rather than pay over the odds at a festival where people don't really care. If you have an appreciation or want to gain some knowledge visit this little gem in the heart of london. Thanks to all there for a great night!

We enjoyed our high tea so much. An cozy and fantastic ambiance, just how a high tea place shout be. There was live piano playing. Although not the cheapest one, it was absolutely fabulous. When we visit London again, we will have an high tea again in this place.

A great place to have high tea. It’s expensive (45£ + VAT & service charge for basic package, add more to include champagne and/or candle as a gift), and you must make a reservation. It is very classy, though: you get as much tea and as many sandwiches (both salty and sweet) as you want. They have high quality and fancy teas: I had the Oscar and another oolong one: both were lovely. Live piano player. You feel like royalty. Apparently Oscar Wilde spent time here, and things are named after him.

I'm impressed. We were here for afternoon tea. Very tasty. Beautiful, solemn Hall. Excellent service.

Very high quality renovation and large rooms and bathroom all out of marble. Staff School and very pleasant and polite. Generally above all praise.

Amazing hotel with lovely cafe. Best cakes outside of Paris. Green Room is a great bar to unwind in after a show. And beautiful toilets! Highly recommended.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and gave us a tour of the hotel after we checked in. We were lucky to be upgraded to a deluxe room. The facilities were good, although the controls for some of the lights were behaving weirdly. The bathroom was very well equipped with all of the essentials and the shower was very nice. We haven't tried the restaurant so cannot speak about the quality of breakfast or other meals.

Excellent hotel with a great cafe and bar, which is probably how it derives it's name. Location is prime, about 100 yards from Piccadilly Circus. The reception area and the entrance is a tad small for a 5 star property, but apart from that, everything is elegant and rich. Had coffee, which tasted like any other, but the overall ambience and environment was very much worth it.

Beautiful hotel. Interior was delightful and staff were attentive. But the lunch served at our corporate event was sub par (lukewarm and tough piece of chicken) and the ac was set to subzero. These events cost a lot to run so I'm surprised that the hotel didn't pay more attention to the guests. They probably assume that the corporate host is indifferent. Shame.

Went here for afternoon tea. Service was amazing. They treated us quite well and explained everything. The food came in two course. The sandwich course was very good. They were light and tasty. The second course was a bit too heavy and was quite sweet as well. Only had the tea there. Did not try the wines. The tea was good with a lot of variety to choose from. Everything was unlimited for 1.5 hours. Overall experience was wonderful. Just one star off for not liking the sweets as much.

Lovely building. Service was a bit weird, staff passing us off to each other, forgetting things etc. The afternoon tea was unexciting and disappointing with the exception of the cream scones. The vegetarian afternoon tea was pretty awful.

£28 for crab linguine. Almost empty week before Christmas. No atmosphere.

I had a great time at the Oscar Wild Bar where I took my friends for a luxurious pre-theatre afternoon tea. Food was excellent, the service immaculate and the charm of the place speaks for itself. Loved the pianist and appreciate a lot the doggy-bag. :)

Lovely bar, and generally good drinks however the wait staff are inattentive and the service is as slow as a wet week. Not a good choice pre-theatre.

This is probably my new favorite place for afternoon tea. We walked in and the piano player was playing all Disney songs. We knew it had to be good from the start! You'd never expect such a nice, quiet and opulent venue right off of Regent Street. The service was great and they had a nice selection of teas. Sandwiches, scones and desserts were a hit, though almost all of the desserts were fruit-based and to I'd much prefer more chocolate! That said, I'll definitely return.

It could have been a really great experience, but was average. The venue is gorgeous, but it is people who really make it. Our tiny table was in the way of all staff members, and I understand that there is not much room there, so it would be nice to get enough care and attention. The lady who greeted us at the entrance should be less reserved and more welcoming. Overall the start was good but when we ran out of tea it was impossible to attract anybody's attention. I could see that everybody noticed our cups were empty but resetting a table was a definite priority for everybody. A charge of 42 pounds is not a small amount, and even if it is not the most expensive in London, I believe we deserved a good service… especially with 12% tips added to the check at the end. Only one server was truly pleasant, a lady with long blond hair. You don't have to love your job but the customer should think so. Thank you.

Fantastic hotel, great location with lots of restaurants, entertainment and shopping all around. It was totally renovated in 2012 with very large rooms and bathrooms. Excellent service and very nice staff. Stayed in it several times and it is one of my top choices.

I booked the afternoon tea as a part of celebration of our wedding anniversary mainly because of the bar's stunning interior, but then we were surprised by the quality and quantity of the foods! This was by far the best afternoon tea we've ever had in London. Service was also excellent. Both foods and tea were refillable. Except for the British Scones and Battenberg, the tiers of sweets included only fine patisserie. We were also given a complimentary lovely anniversary plate with chocolates and candles. With such quality and wonderful experience as a whole, the price was very reasonable, compared to those at same price range but with limited and average foods.

Very friendly for tea with family, the servers are friendly and Marcelo speaks very good french, their cake "carrot — coconut pecan"delicious. The setting is very nice, go fast.

We had a take away coffee from the new coffee shop. Similar prices to normal highstreet brands but you get expert barista's making you a delicious coffee. Their cakes looked incredible. Well worth a try.

Very enjoyable experience dining at The Cafe yesterday evening for my mum's birthday. I had the 5-course menu, 'Sarah in Wonderland', with accompanying wine pairing. The presentation of every dish was exquisite, with an exceptional attention to detail typical of a Michelin-starred restaurant. The stand-out dish from this menu was the 'Mad Hatter', a heady mix of chocolate and cherry kirsch with a smattering of edible gold leaf — simply divine. Although not on my menu, the 'Jaffa Cake' from the 4-course Pick N Mix looked incredible, with its miniature red and white chocolate toadstools placed among pansy flowers and chocolate soil. A final word for the staff: the waiters and waitresses who were courteous and extremely friendly throughout, and the doorman who brought an umbrella to our taxi before we'd even opened the door. Thank you all for a brilliant evening :)

Afternoon tea, birthday treat for the wife. The Oscar Wilde Bar was amazing, with gold leafing, low glow decor and mirrors. Service was impeccable through the three main courses. First was a selection of fingers sandwiches and rolls, second was pastries with clotted cream, jam and lemon curd, third was sweets. There was a vast selection of tea to choose from and you could have more of any food or tea you liked… The ambiance was set with pianist and a history lesson. A guy smartly dressed in red rang a bell for your attention and gave a small informative speech on the history of Cafe Royal, it's list of celebrity clients and the surrounding area. A nice touch… To finish there was a sweet trolley with more cakes. As we had no room we were offered a take away box and bag so we could eat them later. Overall a great experience and although it was pricey (£100 with service charge and a tip) I felt it was worth every penny.

Went for my birthday for the beautiful oick n mix menu in the café. Delicious food, made to feel really special and amazing service. Great cocktails too! Definately recommend.

I was at the Akasha spa — An oasis of calm under the hustle and bustle of Piccadilly Circus. Very serene and an absolutely gorgeous swimming pool.

Good service and food. Too noisy however as tables are too close to each other and overpriced.

Initially intimidating, this turned out to be a really pleasant bar. The workers were very friendly and helpful, and we got to try several very nice cocktails, learned a bit about absinthe, and just had a nice time. Also, this is the first place that I saw use an absinthe fountain, so that's a definite plus!

Having heard that Paco Roncero was collaborating with Cafe Royal for a pop up 4 week stint we had to book as getting to Paco's other (starred) restaurants in Europe would be a very expensive trip. However, sadly the whole thing was a bit of a let down. It started with having to ring up to make the booking as they didn't respond to emails … they then sent an e-mail confirming the booking but deep in the text (which I missed) was a throw-away line asking for a form to be filled in to give credit card details to secure the reservation. Having picked up their phone call saying they would give our table away if we didn't call back that day a few weeks later when I returned from abroad I called them gave them the details but still received no confirmation that our booking was secure — until we arrived. (As an aside this is the first restaurant that has asked for an ID card or passport in order to secure the booking … until I queried it and they realised we were english at which point they said the credit card details would be fine! ) The quality of the meal was fine — no more. Good service but the food was nowhere near as full of flavour as we are used to at this level — maybe as Paco had already returned to Spain. Sadly though this confirms that we would not want to visit his main restaurants as if he can't control the quality somewhere for 4 weeks what chance to his other longer term investments stand.

Amazing service and they provide you some tasting dessert after your meal which was a great experience for me. They food was good with sometimes offer on opentable. Make sure you book your table. I had my last birthday celebration there.

We had a snack, iced chocolate (Jivara of Valrhona) is very good, tasted pastries were also.
A bananza (fine and tasty), banana foam and vanilla with caramel.
A banoffee, soft and tasty cake.
The setting is very nice, perfect for a break in the middle of a crazy shopping on Regent Street.

We actually made a mistake by going a week too early, having meant to have the chelsea flower set meal next week (beginning may 20th) but it was pretty alright anyway. Nevertheless, service was impeccable. We enjoyed the lobster bisque and the salmon ceviche was alright. I cannot say that I was a fan of the rocket salad that came with parmesan and my spinach lasagna but that probably simply boils down to personal preference. The petit fours was pretty good. They were sort of like chocolate truffles but with banana/honey/strawberry filling. Honey was probably the best but it was a good mixture!

New opened hotel on popular street in central london, the cake is different than patisserie Valerie and more different kind of pastries you can find on high street the small size of pastry is £8 which is over price compair to large size £25 I difinetly will choose large instead of small even small is cute than large but large size will enough for 10 ppl and last time bough a tea cake which is over baked dry like a rock.
