Poorly maintained hotels. Very small rooms for a family of 4. Bed not at all comfortable. Staff not welcoming.
Expensive breakfast for what it offers.
In short I do not recommend to anyone.

This place is probably the worst hotel I have ever been to. That includes. The night I stayed in the fez hotel at las Vegas with the heroin addicts crashed out on the balconies. Do not be tempted to stay here, on account of its proximity. Even with the windows open the tiny, overpriced room was inexplicably hot. Until 2 am. I hardly slept at all at this dump which was probably just as well because I would have been robbed by the illegal immigrants who hung around the place. Great Italian restaurant next door. The manager gave me a complimentary glass of wine when I admitted I was staying at the Ascot. Hotel. A true act of compassion.!

Small hotel that has the merit of being well located and cheap.
The room was ok both in terms of the quality of the bedding and the cleanliness. We also enjoyed the kettle and the availability of tea and soluble coffee.
Big black spot: the hotel has aged very badly and needs a good refreshment.

The location is very good. Room is not that much decorated. The lift condition worst. Breakfast is average. Hotel staff not so much good. No push shower in wash room.

Good hotel, local to many great Italian restaurants, shops and Hyde park. Although a mini fridge and bin would have been great to add to the room and a fan although we asked at reception and used theirs we couldn't have done without it. I'd also recommend a few extra pillows but apart from these little things it was a nice hotel and would probably stay again but be more prepared for the little things.

If I could get this hotel 0 stars I would. The bed had a giant sunken place in it. It was completely sunken in. The hotel was dirty and nasty from the entrance. The entire place needed a deep clean and new carpet. The prices of this place range from 40 to 100-ish gbp but way over priced. When we finally got up to the room we realized we were not staying there. The bed sheets had blood on them. The bed was sunken in. The room was disgusting and impossible to stay in. We left. We were in that room all of 10 mins before we left. If affordability is something you want, go to The Royal Eagle down the road. Much cleaner for the same price.

Semi clean. Good service but having a Welsh accent made it hard to communicate. Tones of tea and toiletries in the room. No sink plug and the towel rack fell off.

A decent hotel and chalereu (welcoming)

Transportation in London very convenient.

If you just have to sleep okay but bring the blankets from home.

Nice small comfart rooms at great location in London… Very normal budget for a quick visit to the amazing city of London.

For a short time OK but no more either. Rooms are dirty. The bathroom was more functional but not too. Man (s) was not allowed to look closely, just no German standard. Now for breakfast. I only speak for myself and my family. Under all cannon. Grey bacon, no scrambled eggs etc. A amrerikanisches breakfast looks different. The room was freezing cold, March 8 degrees outside temperature, the dishes completely rolled up. Plastic spoon, no problem, only these were full of crumbs. Coffee only from the bag unfortunately not fresh. For supposedly 3 stars not or only conditionally recommended. We don't see them again. It wasn't that cheap. Not the Defiance, London was cool again. Almost forgotten. The beds were great. For the beds there is the first star. For the situation the second. Ps. Who wants to eat well and cheap in a cosy ambience goes directly in front of the hotel across the street to the Italian.

At first we were given a double room on the 4th floor (i can’t remember the room number) and on the 3rd day of our trip it started raining real bad outside. We noticed little drops of water on the floor and when we looked up, we realized water was coming from the ceiling. I had to go to the reception twice to get the staff to send someone up to our room and get the ceiling checked. Then we were given a nice triple room on the 5th floor and we had no problems with it. (in the first pic you can see the water that ended up in the middle of the room that made us move our beds to the side so they wouldn’t get wet) Don’t even get me started on the hammering and drilling that was going on.

I am staying right now in the hotel, it is the worst hotel quality price which e state, you can not sleep from the cold coming through the windows, I e had to put a coat on, the receptionist would tube us waiting as 15 min without appearing to do the Chek in, the subway is heard all the time, the mattresses are sunk towards the center… The worst that ever visited.

It's not pretty. Super clean or super quiet. but it's in an excellent location. also what do you want for this price? the hilton?

By mistake in the dates of the reservation I have not allowed to make a change of dates or paying the difference of rates. Everyone can be wrong, they have not been understandable and have been left with all the money.

Good location close to Paddington station. Very average hotel but cheap so you cant really complain. Small lift and very slow. Rooms are tidy but nothing special which reflects the price.

As expected for the price. We checked in late one evening on an impromptu stay in Paddington — the staff weren’t friendly and the entire place was spooky and unwelcoming at night — however the room and ensuite were clean, standard mini soaps and shower gels, clean bedding and basic towels provided. We did end up having a good nights sleep in the end — beds were small but comfy and overall wasn’t bad at all for one night. That said, they started loud building renovations from 9am so no chance of a lie in! Didn’t bother us as we were leaving early any way. To conclude — as expected for the price.

The location was great for this hotel, other than that it wasn’t meeting any of us expectations. If you’re in the area please consider other hotels which they offer cleaner and quieter rooms in nearby location.

Nice Hotel on the main Street very near to Pedington Underground station as well as Main Train station. Wi-Fi is available, single Rooms is quite Small but manageable. Near by many indian Restaurants. Overall stay is good.

Good shelter for the night. Great value for money, don't have to be too picky and adjust a bit… The finishes leave a little to be desired…

AVOID AT ALL COSTS******** This absolutely RUINED any stay in London. Was woken up to VERY loud drilling the first night inside the hotel. To even CONSIDER keeping the room open during this isn't a JOKE Woken up the second morning to loud banging, being told I had to leave aggressively told I needed to check out. Turns out they mixed their days up and after proving this, they casually said ok, you can stay. I spoke to the manager and explained have not had one unitintorupded nights stay and the headache this has caused. It would only be fair to moe rooms and Be given a nights stay for compensation. He nooses his head and said ok, only to go back on it and kick me out the morning I thought I wouldn't FINALLY get a decent sleep in movingly rooms. The THIRD night of my stay I was kept up and then woken up in the morning by a loud repeating pinging noice. Turns out this is the noise the lifts made and that ot isn't their fault and that this noise is somehow ok. I was then told that morning that they hadn't agreed to the compensation of moving me and allowing me an extra nights stay and that I had to leave. I have the biggest head ache imaginable, have bit ha one half decent nights sleep in 3 days. I am furious and ill from staying here. avoid stayijg at this hotel at all costs.

My daughter stayed here with friends and she didnt complain. I also asked at reception for her while I was there and the staff didnt release any information so I know security is good too.

Close to Paddington Station. Bed is not comfy and Wi-Fi is slow but the room is cheap. Reflects the price.

Clean bedroom and neat bathroom plus friendly reception. Lots of restaurants nearby and prices are good for central London.

Good value for money the staff is great.

Our room was so narrow we had about a foot of space either side of the small double bed. The bed itself sagged in the middle. The floor of the room sagged in places. I would say this was ok for a night but no more. The breakfast was acceptable.

For England the value for money was ok, room reasonably clean, and a good Location.

Great location. Single rooms are truly single rooms, i. E. A single bed. Room was clearly recently refurbished. Didn't try the breakfast.

Four of us had a very pleasant stay for the Nottinghill Carnival. Staff were friendly and the rooms were clean. We couldn't knock it due to the cost of the room. We would return.

Well there is a lot of problems with rooms. We founded someone else hairs on the floor. Wi-Fi is for 5£ per room and it should be free. Wodden and old windows. Very close to Hyde Park and also cheap so thats advantage.

Location is very nice. Room and bathroom very nice. Was here on london's hottest day though and as most places, there I no ac and no fans. Elevator is a bit of a pain.

The location was fine, very close to Hyde Park, but the hotel is one of the worst where I have stayed. Normally if it is austere but cheap I put good score as it compensates. The problem with this was the cleanliness that was very deficient. I can't recommend it.

The staff is really not nice, not nice. We are two, tiny room, no plug to plug in a charger. The room is poorly maintained, hotel which is located in a noisy Street. To avoid!

Very small hotel not very friendly remote control for pay TV! Wi-Fi theoretically free to see D in a few hours! Room not maintained this degrade… I'm not satisfied.

The room was a mess. The bathroom door was broken and didn't close. The breakfast wasn't great either. Very budget.

I give a star by giving her something, the receptionists about impresentables, nor gave us, or they wanted to give us the remote control of the TV. They gained 10 pounds by the Wi-Fi connection.
Small rooms, but clean, the room refurbished bathroom, but with the windows, and those little cockroaches better nor speak of 1950-60.
I will not ever that hotel and that mos of E. C. I. Recommended it.

This hotel gave me nightmares, literally… — mildew in the bathroom (in the shower, outside the shower) — clogged drain in the sink-a broken, continuous heating that made the room a sauna and was not to be turned off-water stains on the walls and ceiling — Dust under the Beds-very close corridor-unfriendly Staff-we had to push two chairs at night to the door because we were afraid to be mugged-we could barely sleep all night because the heater went through and we had to open the window every hour, Lest we suffocate — the location was the only pleasing thing, but never again.

Sloping floor, dirty room, broken window glass… hotel indecent, I don't know how to be accessible!

Something really disgusting! The worst night of my life … dirty room, bathroom unusable … an experience not to repeat.

Indecent… Personal unpleasant as themselves, cleaned the rooms when you block them, the hot water and heating works when it is with them. If it is a two star hotel, well…, but there are better options at the same level in London. This in Spain or Portugal is a seedy guesthouse, and not a two-star hotel.

Narrow, very narrow hotel!
The entrance is a hallway with a computer connected to the internet.
The hotel is located at the intersection of the slider and the stairs.
The rooms are very narrow and apart from the safe, there is nothing exceptional.
The price is high.
OK staff!
"Paddington" metro stop in a few minutes.
Shops of proximities, fastfood, nearby Exchange Office.
I do not really recommend.

Basic not bad as we were to a budget nice staff had room only.

Its a budget hotel, what more do you want its cheap and the loation is great prob less than an hour from central london its small but cheap.

1. The rooms are the size of a closet, like literally. It's very depressing. 2. Bugs in bed. 3. Unprofessional and rude staff. Couldn't even feel safe leaving my stuff in the room. 4. Dirty lobby, full of rubbish. 5. Have to pay for the Wifi. 6. There's construction next door starting at 7am. do not go there! it may be cheap, but the price isn't even worth it!

My Daughter was booked in with her 1 month old baby and the room was disgusting with towels and the bathroom floor, unmade beds, food on the side with dirty cups and the staff not helpful in anyway with a very poor command of english.

I stayed here for one night on Sunday 30th June with my friend. Made a reservation for a reduced price on trivago and then found so many bad reviews which scared me as I couldn't cancel the booking and get a refund! But. I found it was actually really nice hotel. The two staff we met were friendly to us young travelers. The hotel was simple, big and clean. We had the room 505 on the top floor and found it actually had a double bed and two singles. There were loads of cupboards to put our things which we didnt even use in the end. The tea/coffee/sugars were arranged on a tray. The beds were nicely made. The bathroom was simple but clean with lots of sachets of shower gels/conditioners/shampoo. The tap had no running water from the tap but we found it fine to just use shower water. The beds were comfy and there was a nice supply of towels. We didn't really use the TV but there was more than enough channels and the view was pretty with a row of colorful houses and potted plants. And luckily no bugs anywhere because otherwise I would have legged it! So to any potential visitors DON'T BE SCARED! It was a great stay. I can't say anything for the breakfast as we didn't get any but the breakfast cafe just next to it was so good and had low prices! Everything was perfect for us in the end. It was nothing that I had imagined from the comments which frightened me for no good reason.

Staff were very rude, I would not recommend at all, avoid.

I would rate it lower if I could! When I showed up, the employee at reception smiled, then walked me down two blocks to a separate building gave me a key and took off. After climbing seven flights of stairs, I realized that the room was no larger than the size of a closet. Would NEVER feel safe leaving my belongings at a hotel like this. And no refunds.

Very poor experience. The room was of a very poor quality, the window was cracked with only tape to cover up the crack, there is a charge for the Wi-Fi, which is expected, however this did not reach my room. The staff were very unfriendly and lacked basic customer service skills. This hotel was £30 a night, however I do not think this price justifies my stay. It is in a very convenient location, but that was the only positive I can find for my stay.

Extremely bad. Bed bugs all over our room. The receptionists did not do much about it. Our children were over-biten and one of them even had an allergic reaction. It must be a problem they very well know. Find another place.

Hotel bad, messy, electrical cords free, breakfast room small, dirty and broken tables, breakfast awful. The rooms are old, small, and even when we were there was a large hole in the wall and the floor was pending. The location is very good, but not worth staying in this crap, and the price is also high. Trust the reviews, don't book.

OK rooms, but I would not recommend if you have children or plan on spending a lot of time in the room. The staff is also unfriendly and does not look like they care about their job or the hotels standards. All the carpentry looked like it was done in one day and made our experience worse. OK for the price, but not a hotel I can recommend.

DO NOT STAY HERE! This hotel is terrible — myself and my brother stayed in the hotel for 3 days while in London and it was pathetic, here's a list why that you MUST READ: The rooms are very dirty The vibrations from trains passing are very annoying and occur a few times every hour They were constantly doing construction work in the room next to ours — we could barely sleep WORST OF ALL: THEY REMOVED OUR DOOR while we were out. The door was literally taken away, leaving the room open to anyone who walked by. There was not even anyone there looking after the room. Thank god no one took our passports and laptops which were on display. What's worse is that we went to complain and the staff had conveniently left 'disappeared'. All that were there were cleaners. Pathetic. Don't support businesses that don't care about their customers — Don't stay here, regardless of how cheap it is.

A very old and dirty hotel, the pictures on the website are not real, breakfast was of poor quality, restaurant was located in a very dirty basement, the rooms without any facilities which was mentioned in the site: no refrigerator, door lock was not safe, very strange that for access to the slow internet you have to pay 2.5 per hour. Its not a standard hotel. The only good thing was the location. The worst hotel I have ever experienced. Not recommended.

The service is very bad, the bathroom is so small that it cannot even enter, poor breakfast and photos posted are misleading. I left a bottle of wine that he had brought from Spain at the reception so that takes it a friend leaving name and surname and it was it is the staff of the hotel, with this you can see the level of lowness of personnel who have. This is one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. I would not stay here again small not worth price‎‎ our room was incredibley small and cramped, shower floor was dirty and our cable didn't work. Definately not worth the price that we paid and would never reccommend this hotel to anyone.

Positive: good location to Paddington station
Negative: Rooms were in poor condition; in the bathroom wall, ceiling and shower curtain mold. Thin walls, every sound from the hallway came unfiltered into the room; Breakfast miserably, only cheese and jam, not a little sausage or other, plates and cups were not; Stairs in a dilapidated state, permante fear of collapse exists.

Hotel is in good location. Barely two minutes from Paddington station.
Were not housed in the main building. Annex for each accessible. No lift. Accommodation on the 4th floor. Had to create the case over the fairly narrow staircase in the room. Rooms small, clean bed, shower and toilet. The rest of dusty. The towels were changed every day. Had to move my bed to open the window. Then only a small gap. Very noisy even when the window is closed. Breakfast room was housed in the basement of the main house. Would need to be renovated. Not a very friendly staff. To recommend, as price — performance in order for short trips, however. It is just to sleep in the hotel.

The hotel is close to the metro station and is very close to Hyde Park.
For the rest is a former hotel put back a little in place.
The photos are true but a few dozen years.
It's all a little let go, both the rooms and the breakfast area.
You can find better.
