Worst building ever! The elevator was broken half years and 400 users share one! Also, the key is so bad that sometimes even can’t get in the door. Super disappointed and I lived here a year. I’ll never come back!

Waste of money. Continuous problems with washing/drying machines, never fixed elevators, refusal from the management to supply new vacuum cleaners, no fans in the summer and no proper heating in the winter, vending machines always broken, only two guests max. Allowed, no information when parcels arrive, rooftop terrace was closed most of the time as a punishment, incompetent management and very rude staff, think twice before you go there.

Would not recommend this place to anyone really. Incredibly over-priced and all conceptions of useful amenities were diminished within the first week. The gym is useless as their are no weights, the lifts rarely ever work and staff have become worse since several key members departed. Still have to pay for laundry use and whole place is generally depressing, would never return.

The student accommodation is very beautiful. The rooms are small, but decorated in a very high standard. Also you can't hear your neighbours listening to music. Amazing View! Some problems of the building: — Since two months one of the three elevators is not working and the second one is also quite often broken. At the moment already for two weeks. So we have only one elevator for 18 floors. — The laundry room is sometimes really dirty and the dryers don't work. I already spent £4.5 extra for non working machines and when I wrote to the laundry company to refund me this small amount, they made it extremely complicated. It was like describing a murder. — I wanted to print some documents today that I need urgently for my traveling. Before IQ took over the student building it was ok to go downstairs and print documents at any time. Apparently now it's only allowed when the office staff is in the building. So monday to friday. I tried to find another print shop, to fix this problem. Spent 2 hours walking around town. Unfortunately on a sunday this is quite difficult. Now I literally have to find in the morning a printer at the airport. The best is that I was not informed by this change in advance. — The location of the building is close to Whitechapel. In the evening it is an especially uncomfortable area. You can't leave the building without being asked at least once for money by a homeless person. Some of them scream at you and some of them follow you.

Everything good. Kind staffs, good location and facilities. But usually only one elevator working and another 2 is fixing everyday. I dont wanna be late my class cos of slow lift. Please fix it asap. Seriously…

I lived at Pure Aldgate while studying abroad from the US and it was a phenomenal location to be able to access my university and all of the great things that London has to offer! Great rooms and helpful staff.

Amazing place to live especially recommended if it is your first year in London and you are not sure where to go. The building is kept in great conditions a lot of events are also organized by the amazing staff so it is also a great opportunity to meet people outside of your uni.
The building also provides a gym, a cinema room, a common kitchen and rooftop with an amazing view and a study room.
Is also recommended over other accommodations around the area which are more industrial as this one feels more cosy and home like.

My term is not complete yet, but I am loving the place. To be honest, the place exceeded my expectations. My room is a studio plus with an amazing view of the commercial road. You can find all the details about the rooms on their website. You just have to buy your bedding stuff and cutlery. Just wish they had provided an led in the room, maybe that's just me. The place has a gym (to be honest I haven't used it yet, too lazy), a laundry room, a cinema room, study rooms and an awesome sky lounge on the top floor. The house arrange movie nights, jack the ripper tour, Halloween nights etc for us and believe me it helps in not feeling alone or homesick because you get to meet other people from different countries. Adil, Federica, Oliver, Paul, Gabbi all are amazing people and they will just welcome you everyday with a smile and will help you in everything. I wish them good luck and really hope the rest of the term goes the same or better.

Pure Aldgate is a great place for students, you have everything you need, great facilities and the staff is the best. If you really wanna have space and comfort you need to choose it.

Great staff, ranging all the way from maintenance to security to reception. Offers many opportunities to meet new people as well as many activities to participate in. Would highly recommend for people new to the city.

We stayed as visitors for one night before it filled with students which is its main porpoise. Convenient and a reasonable prices for London. We had a basic room, immaculately clean, well equipped. Sky lounge and roof terrace very cool. Downside, no TV in the rooms and a fan in the kitchen area that could not be turned off. It's incessant drone led to quite a poor nights sleep. The bed as stated us only 4ft which is really quite small as a double. Also nothing to sit on other than the bed. Its okay as a place to lay you head for a night in the city.

I liked the cleanliness of the rooms and the modern feeling. Staff is polite and cheerful. The shared spaces were a bit noisy sometimes.

Good points; Great social building during academic time, Nice view from the roof, Gym and cinema facilities. Bad points Rooms without a window are to hot (therefore require a far better cooling system or just a window) Cleaners will wake you up at 11 in the morning.

During the summer months, the rooms are boiling. There are many rooms where there aren't even ventilation and windows cannot be opened. The rooms with windows which can be opened, can only be be opened slightly for ventilation but makes no difference. During the winter this seems to be fine. It is pretty hard to cook in the rooms. I have set my fire alarm off multiple times and the room can get smoky and smell of food after easily. I have had to take much extra precaution by always choosing low heat or choosing to cook food that might not cause a lot of smoke. The building is modern and management is nice. There are good places to study and lounges to relax in. But for the price, I don't think it is worth it overall. Edit — after a lot of complaints, the management offered free fans for students to be used in the rooms which helps during heatwaves.

During winter this place is an ideal place to stay however once the outside temperature reaches 19C upwards the conditions in the rooms are UNBEARABLE. I have to wake up in the night to have a cold shower to cool down. Not ideal for exam period. Most the staff are pleasant and helpful and the interior of the rooms are modern however unfortunately the temperature and ventilation of these rooms completely ruins my experience at Pure Aldgate and I will not be booking nor recommending it to anyone!

I highly recommend this accommodation! I moved into a Premium Studio about two months ago. The room and the common areas exceeded expectation: everything are modern, new, comfortable and clean. It has a double bed (as do all the rooms), the fittings are modern and of high quality, natural light, and plenty of storage space. There is study room, gym, laundry facilities, bike storage, cinema, social areas, sky lounge with amazing views (19th floor), roof terrace, and communal dining area if you want to have a dinner party. The staff are warm and friendly and help you out in any way they can. They are also making a genuine effort to foster a community spirit through, for example, creating a Facebook group for tenants and actively making sure that everyone is aware of it, and also organizing events such as the Welcome Party this coming Friday which will involve complimentary food, drinks and a DJ. There is 24hr security and the security staff are available to help you with any other issues you encounter during the hours that management are not around. The location is fantastic: very close to the heart of the City (very near to Aldgate East Tube station, quickly connecting you to the rest of London). If you are a student wanting somewhere that will fully cater to your living, social and study needs, then I think Pure Aldgate is a great choice.

Really enjoying my experience at Pure Aldgate. The location is fantastic — you're so close to grocery stores, the subway, restaurants and awesome shopping areas like Brick lane and Spitalfields. The rooms are also in very good shape, being that they are new. I would recommend this place to someone looking for student housing in London.

Been living in this Building for Two years, great surrounding full of Stores, Banks, resturants and a 24 hours McDonald 7 mins away. The staffs are really nice and the community is great. Common areas are literally Bomb. Highly Recommend if ur considering.

Really enjoying my stay in this accommodation. The view from the 18th floor Sky Lounge is amazing and makes it worth it over other accommodation on it's own. There are parties, film nights and pool tournaments which help to make a community. Staff are really helpful.

I moved in a month a go and am very glad to have chosen to stay with pure aldgate. The accommodation itself is top standard and the staff helpful in every possible way. I would definitely recommend it to friends and come back again.

I too have experienced deposit issues. From another review it appears that my experience is not in isolation. My profile says there are "dilapidation" payments which means I will not receive the deposit even though I had a full inspection and there was no damage to the room, When questioning the reception about these details, they are unaware of the costs and are unable to resolve the issue and it feels very little is being done from there side. I would suggest to avoid renting from this property and search for alternatives. From my experience Pure student living "city" is a better option. However I would suggest looking at different companies.
