I just took my mum home from here to sleep on the sofa because I was so concerned about leaving her here. It is filthy, the rooms are tiny and the walls are thin. It is cheap but not worth staying in. Go elsewhere!

Absolutely Awful! And they call themselves a hotel! I stayed here nearly a year ago and it was one of the worst places I've ever had to stay. The room was disgusting, dirty, and smelt of cigarette smoke (as was the condition of the rest of the 'hotel'). There were burns on the carpet, and cigarette butts in between the windows (which weren't fitted properly). The curtains didn't close well and the two windows provided everyone on the streets below a perfect view right into the room. The whole place looked rundown (this aesthetic was aided by the abandoned pub underneath), and the staff were somewhat hostile. Could not wait to get out of there! I had to stay for 2 nights as I was on a business trip but I had to take all of my stuff with me both days as I didn't trust leaving it in the room. Aside from that, the room was bare and unfit for letting out. The hotel is also right over a tube line, so expect to be shaken every 3 minutes by one going past. The only good thing about where the hotel was, was how close the Sainsbury's local was and it's closeness to a tube station… I don't even want to know where breakfast might have been served if I was offered any…

Just for sleeping, this hotel is enough. The rooms were clean but have already come very old. We had a great water damage stain on the ceiling and in the shower you have seen the lime deposits. But the bed was OK to sleep in.

I booked a (DELUXE Double Room) *bathroom ceiling 10cm coming out any moment also it's very damp *floor badly stained on carpet *walls blocked with loads of plastic bags to cover large HAND SIZE rat holes *lights were infested with bugs *matress BADLY stained *TV did not come on *view out window was blocked *painting not complete in bedroom *no protective sheets under linen *pillows very flat *rooms were not soundproof.

Cheap and cheerful. The managers were friendly and helpful. The shower was difficult to control between scorching and sub zero. Corridor smells constantly of weed. You get what you pay for, I suppose!

Perfect location by Queen Mary University. Room is small but clean.

No facilities and dirty room.

I been there three nights comfortably. Receptionist and housekeeper are very helpful. Excellent location communication wise and very near to central London.

A bit dirty but nice location and management. You get what you pay for. And mice. Now I can't sleep.

Worse hotel I have ever seen. Mouse and rodent crawls everywhere. Smell bad and dirty. Drug users and dealers disturb a lot, not safe.

Stayed for one night whilst attending a house party round the corner — good location and price, served a purpose (i. E. It provided a bed and shower)

The New Globe is the local student dive for Queen Mary, there are much nicer pubs for those willing to walk another ten minutes in either direction. Avoid in the evenings.

Not allowed to sit in the beer garden with a dog but people are allowed to smoke in the no smoking areas.

OK pub, great for locals, not so great for a random pint.

From what I remember of Jarvis Cockers musings on Mile End, this pub delivered.

Awesome pub and great atmosphere. I come here every other day and the staff are very very friendly and they look after people very well. (Even if you are drunk your head off lol) Drinks are expensive compared to a normal pub but I guess I can live with that cause the atmosphere is pretty awesome and worth the money. Highly recommended.

A really nice experience, but quite pricey compared to the weatherspoons down the road. Very nice to socialize in, but nothing more. Go there if you want a quieter atmosphere and somewhere where you can have a natter with your friends.

Been there for a few social events, the atmosphere is quite nice as is the place. It isn't exactly cheap, or that great a place to go, but it's nice to socialise in.

Staff have been quite rude on occasions.
