Nice, secure apartment close to Borough tube station. Our room overlooked a main road so a bit noisey. No a/c, only a fan so can get very warm in summer. Well equipped kitchen, nice bathroom. TV a bit dated. Great for a short to medium stay, more comfy than an hotel room.

Discreetly new apartments, well cared for and equipped. Clean and possible to have extra cleaning service if you are not staying for at least 7 days. The Penthouse has spectacular views with 2 balconies including one with a coffee table. Great location near the metro. Very recommended.

Nice place with everything furnished xcept no coolers. Only stand stand provided during this summer. Friendly staffs, good location close to Borough Underground and the foodporn — The Borough Market.

This place is not being upkept. After 2 days the lock on the door stopped working. It was reported, nothing was done. There is a card for the TV, reported the card missing, nothing was done. Maid service is offered only once a week, unacceptable! Wifi was absent from the apartment for too long. After the maid leaves, no toiletries were replaced, not even garbage bags. Light bulbs kept blowing. Concierge service leaves much to be desired. I felt like I was too much of a bother because I was often complaining about one thing or another. I was very disappointed with this place!

At prime location. Well maintained apartments. Main thing is the Handy Phone you get in the apartment will help you use for Maps, calls etc. That's the main thing I liked. I was carrying it for the complete stay. Never got lost.

This place has the potential to be excellent, but falls short. The accommodations themselves are almost nice — layout of the different flats are great, but the maintenance is lacking. During my two month stay it took almost three weeks for the broken doorknobs, swapped water lines, burnt out lights, broken TV, and broken handles to get fixed. There was mold in one of the bathrooms with a strong musty odor that we asked for help with several times without it ever being addressed. In the evening, don't bother asking for anything important as the desk is unable to help, but if you time it right sometimes you'll get helpful people in the morning. I enjoyed the living room windows and the balcony and the bedrooms were spacious in the flat we had — however their are many different floor plans. The location is convenient as it's next to both the London Bridge and Borough tube stations with several bus routes next door as well. Tesco next door for smaller groceries. I would stay here again, but not without first checking the flat and making sure it's up to par.

Beware of your personal belongings in these apartments
I'll start with some positive things about this place. The apartments are spacious, well equipped, great views and in a great area. That being said, the staff is extremely unhelpful and unfriendly. We called three times to get some extra blankets and they told us the staff was not on duty, they weren't able to bring us today, "maybe" tomorrow and they will write it down and someone will be there tomorrow. Only then when we pushed on them, they provided with all necessary things we asked for.
The terrible thing that happened to us was so unpleasant! In a nutshell, if for you the safety is number one — NEVER stay there! They claim that it's safe there but actually it's not at all. There isn't any safe in your room, no Security Cameras and Video Surveillance Systems in corridors and halls, anyone from the staff is free to sneak into your room and take money from your personal things. These thieves don't take all money, but some banknotes to make this theft seem like an accidental loss. That's exactly what happened to us. We reported and talked to the operations manager about this terrible event and their reaction was "cold and help-free". They are not British and as they said — "We are all foreigners here. Corridors were not being cleaned regularly and there was a strange smell from the carpets. Please, note that there was no cleaning the whole week of our stay.

Stayed there for 6 weeks on a business trip. Situated near to many business offices. Rooms are decent sized. Kitchen has all required utilities. Bathroom is also good. You get a bathtub. No separate shower area. Walkable distance from tube station and bus stop. Connectivity is good. They do allow parking but that is paid.

Apartments are nice although decor was a little tired in places and the view we had was poor. Overall good though and would stay there again.

GO ANYWHERE ELSE! Booked empire sq weeks in advance. En route to London, recieved EMAIL stating apartment was no longer available. And they only had an apartment in stratford by the railway line. Didnt want to stay there as arrived and apartment was FILTHY. Suspect stains on sofa. Smelly, damp apartment. was not given a refund even though they cancelled original booking due to 'unforseen circumstances'. Ended up shelling out for a last minute Novotel. … Which was much better allround. will never use marlin again. disgusting apartments. Disgusting policy. Disgusting experience. Disgusting company.

Stayed in flat 72 on the third floor. It had 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, a living room with a semi-open kitchen and access to the balcony which was more than adequate for the 4 of us staying over the weekend. We booked 48 hours before the one night stay. The positives was that it was a very tidy and clean flat, the parking spaces that were pre-booked at £15.00 each weren't required and the receptionist confirmed a refund will be applied. The negatives were that the receptionist was very rude when I told her I didn't hold any ID (although her colleague was very helpful), the flat itself was extremely warm and the windows in the bedroom can only be opened as a whole, on top of this the mattress was extremely springy and the beds were on wheels which meant they never stayed in one place! The sofa wasn't very comfortable (although I assume it's convertible into a bed which explains a lot) and the TV was what looked like a late 1990's wide screen box which is surprising given how long flat screen TVs have been available. Check in is at 3pm and check out is at 10:30am which isn't ideal as most hotels allow check in earlier and check out later. Overall it was a decent stay however I would recommend the likes of Premier Inn for a cheaper and more comfortable stay.

Booked one bedroom apartment for three adults on their website. However when we get to our room we noticed there is only one double bed and a couch. We asked for extra set of blanket. They told us since we didn’t book with “sofa bed” they are not allow to give to us. I questioned why booked for three adults only only two can sleep. She said the maximum “stay” is three in this room doesn’t mean can sleep three. This is very tricky! She even said the website should stop you by booking with three people (what!?!? ) Our outlets by the whole kitchen wall isn’t working that we have to put toaster and tea kettle on dining table. Room wasn’t very clean. Countertop is dusty. Really don’t recommend this place. It has no value against to the money you pay.

A group of 11 of us stayed here this weekend, the apartments were absolutely amazing, very spacious, clean and had great views. The staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful, from letting us check in early without any charge to one of our group been unwell and letting us check out later than planned due to this. I would recommend these apartments and would definitely stay here again, great location, close to tube and lots of pubs and resteraunts … ideal if you don't want the hustle n bustle of been in the centre but close enough to tube to not even notice… thanks so much to everyone ther …

This place is like staying at a friends house when they are out of town. Nice big apartment, but none of what you would expect from a hotel.

I stayed in a couple of rooms. All were dirty, worn and shabby. Amenities were either broken or not offered. For example when I asked for some hand soap I was told they run out, a week later they still didn't have any.

I'll start out positive. The apartments are spacious, well equipped, great views and in a great area. That being said, the staff is extremely unhelpful. You call to get something fixed and they tell you the maintenance staff is not on duty, they will write it down and someone will be there tomorrow. The next day, you come home to find the issue still exists, and the pattern continues. The amount of times I've heard "well there's nothing we can do now" and "it wasn't in the handover document" is unbelievable. I'm doing a long-term stay here and it took 3 weeks of them telling me my shower was fixed nearly every day (I had no hot water) before they finally moved me into a new flat. New flat, new issue that they keep postponing fixing. If you have to go to work and can't stay home to monitor the fact they actually came, don't bother with a longer term stay here. If you're staying for a few days or a week, this place is fine. But for people staying longer — look elsewhere, because "fully serviced" actually means "we'll service it when we feel like it". And with the amount you pay to stay here, you could do better elsewhere.

Missing the little bits that you expect for a room that's £127 per night. Sky box didn't work properly, no hand wash in the bathroom, red splatters on the living room wall and ceiling, curtain partially hanging off the rail and a cheap alternative to a door stopper. Also, couldn't use the sink in bathroom as the plug was stuck in the plug hole. The plus side is it's location and underground parking (£30 per night) and comfortable bed. I could have got better and cheaper in a Travelodge! It's a pity with and update I'd probably give it a 4.5 or 5.

We paid nearly £6000 for a 3 week stay. We were expecting much more for our money & were disappointed. Apartments are very basic and poorly stocked. As other comments we also found that not everything works. Service team were not very helpful either… handy location though!

Totally disappointed. We checked in on 12th October16, apartment is nice, rooms is also really good, but their services are bad. Our room's electric plug point was not working we called so many times till 3 days they used to say we will do in tomorrow morning. But they didn't come. And during the check in they don't come for demo, services are not good at all.

I lived in brough Marlin last week, in room 140! Please return me the Chanel umbrella I left in the room. Really bad service, never lived in a hotel can't find the things belong to the guest after they left! I lived there three weeks, no service at all, always forget to arrange me the cleaner, only one time clean during past three weeks!

Poor service, arrived at queen street and was told my room was no longer available! Moved us to empire square! Nightmare checking in! Customer service couldn't even upgrade or provide us with any alternative. Cancelled the booking! Will never use again! Fun bank holiday weekend wasted! Thank you Marlin apartments!

Great value serviced apartment just dont expect 4 star style cleanliness.

Stayed at Marlin apartments Empire Square for 13 nights one week ago. We booked two premier 2 bedroom apartments and paid for them about 4 months in advance. When we arrived we were given incorrect rooms and not on the same floor after we had agreed and paid months in advance. We stayed one night in these rooms and changed the following day. It progressively got worse with blocked vanity, blocked toilet, kitchen tap not working, cleaning not being done and lots more. The building is in need of repair and has not been maintained for quite some time as it needs painting, carpet cleaning etc. Service was poor. Would not recommend anyone staying at these apartments.

The worst hotel/serviced apartment experience I have ever had. Stayed here 7 years ago it was great. This time not so much. The building has been neglected, rooms and common areas were dirty and several appliance didn't work in our room. Wifi was lousy. Very limited TV options. The staff were unhelpful. Try somewhere else.

Clean, comfortable, close to tube station so a perfect place to stay in London.

Amazing flats! Have every thing a person would need that includes Wi-Fi, TV (with loads of channels) and other basic equipments.

Before I get into the list of complaints I have about this hotel, let me point out a few of the good things: the room was clean, the unit itself was fully equipped with full size kitchen, plenty of space. Now for the negatives: The Wi-Fi would routinely would go out, or be extremely slow. Several outlets in the unit did now work. Dryer on the washing machine settings did not work, and took several cycles to dry. There was no doorman to assist with our luggage, and the front desk staff pretended not to see us struggling with our 5 suitcases as we entered the hotel. There was no air conditioning in the unit — fortunately for us, we stayed in October, so it was cool enough that we could just leave the windows open. I would NOT stay here in the summer. If you want AC, they will charge you to bring a portable AC unit to your room. There are tons of add on costs which they don't let you know about, such as the aforementioned AC service. You have to pay extra for a late check out, or early check in, when this should be a courtesy, not a charge. Room service costs extra. Towels cost extra. Parking costs extra. The list goes on. Basically any type of courtesy that most hotels would extend for free, the Marlin charges for. There was a shortage of glassware in the kitchen. The phone in the room required payment up front to use. So, if you wanted to reach the front desk, for example, you had to activate a paid subscription!

Great location, great price, great apartments. Stayed for just one night. Conveniently located 3 mins from Borough tube, we stayed in no. 625 with a roof terrace overlooking the London skyline. Check-in was very quick and efficient. The apartment was spacious and very clean. The communal hallways are starting to show signs of wear, but were still very clean. Linen, tea, coffee and water was provided and the noise level was nothing more than you'd expect in central London. Check-out was equally quick and efficient. Would highly recommend.

Overall good and clean. Weirdest thing was the tub/shower. You had to step up real high to get in and I often slipped coming out.

Pretty decent place to stay while in London. It was close to my work (while visiting) and close to two tube (underground) stations. The place is clean and the staff is friendly.

Good spacious and clean apartment. Regrettably the staff weren't very helpful and didn't really know their way around the building, which is quite large and has more than 1 wing.

My partner and I stayed in one of the apartments a few weeks ago, and are sad to say it was not what we expected. Being a regular traveller and having stayed in many hotels and apartments in London, I expected spending £200 to get me accommodation to a high standard. The receptionist was very helpful and friendly, and gave us the key to apartment number 3. We were greeted with the tiniest kitchen/living area — so far away from any of the photos advertised on your website, I believe there has got to be some element in truth when it comes to marketing, not just the same bed linen. The carpets were absolutely disgusting, there were stains and dirt all over the carpet in the bedroom, and the rug in the living area was just appalling. The 'flat screen tv' advertised in 'all' apartments on the website, was the same enormous grey box that my grandmother owns. Having said all this, I kindly asked the receptionist move us into another apartment after explaining what was wrong and she kindly obliged with no questions. Apartment 167 was so much better in size and layout so I felt I could not complain a second time. But the rug in the living area was just as horrendous as apartment 3, and I genuinely gagged when my partner pointed out the toenail underneath the coffee table.
