Went in recently after a year and am pleasantly surprised by the renovations, the new conferencing room and bar. The old place was a total mess but it seems the new owner has spruced it all up, including the service. Now seems like a very good place for weddings and events. Highly recommend it.

Booked on say 2 june booked out 2 hrs later could not get refund as nobody on reception desk (again). Door lock was iffy and room smelt like a toilet plus there was a plastic bag over smoke detector, no lock on toilet, very dissapointed, website is misleading.

Dirty no cold soft drinks no ice don't do soda water could carry on but I won't.

Refuse to rate this any stars at all as it was purely a hole, would rather be in a tent, lesson learnt.

The rooms was disgusting wound have my pet dog there the staff is very rude mainly the main manager the builders was cutting tiles at midnight went down to complain and threatened me for complaining im in hotels all year and a builder my self but I wount work when people is in bed and for them to say they wantwd to kick my head in haha adiots absolutily adiots the worst experiance ever the bath was mouldy plugs wasnt working took a day to get a kettle off them for the room and the kettle was filthy the worst hotel ever been in they should demolish it there more things to say but ill end up writing a book.

I only visited here to collect a friend for dinner. He mentioned that the room's were basic and it was a busy hotel.

The staff were friendly, and the room was recently decorated, however the bathroom was a bit dusty, and it was generally cold. It can't be helped, as it's an old coaching inn. It has bags of character, but the public areas and the pub could do with some attention.

Dirty rooms, no toilet in the rooms, right now in works. I don't recommend it.

Absolutely awful. Worst place I have every stay so dirty blood on the wall pubes every where bathroom was discusting toilet right next to the wall where I slept for 15 mins at a time because kept waking with someone having a piss just awful.

Quite possibly the dirtiest most disgusting place I have ever stayed. Guests so drunk they could barely speak, drugs on the bathroom floor, idiots running around chattering endless rubbish as a result of aforementioned drugs. Had room broken into while at reception (crowbarred open). Went to work the next day, came back to find a dirty pair of boxer shorts and a empty bottle of vodka on our bathroom floor. Beds cheap and uncomfortable, mattress stained, TV broken, bathroom filthy and full of mould, furniture broken and woken up several times throughout the night by the extremely drunk fools from the bar arguing with each other. Hell on earth.

It's located in a nice area! Near a shopping area. 15 mins walk to the nearest station. The rooms are really good! Good price! Nice bar! Plus the staff is really nice as well!

Arrived at 12 midnight after 8 hours driving and reception had no idea of our bookING took them 20 min to sort us out. No hot water. Place was like a bomb had hit it. In the room was one teabag one small milk one cup when we booked 2 adults. Bathroom was disgusting. Avoid.

The building itself is very old, so expect thin walls and dated interior. The room looked very dated and worn. There was a broken pole in one of the draws along with old sweet wrappers and an old canvas. The bed was very hard, the pillows were too thin and flimsy. The shower was discoloured and going black /yellow. Shower curtain fixture was broken. Bathroom floor was discoloured / worn. The plumbing above the room was extremely loud, made the whole room vibrate. The surrounding area is pretty rough, lots of chavs / drunk men on benches. Wouldn't stay again, staff were nice.

After our recent stay we were very disappointed on the condition of our room. Firstly there was no soap in the bathroom Loud noise coming from bathroom pipes when water was used When trying to use the shower it fell apart, and at times the water went to really hot then cold when used by other rooms. In our opinion the shower and mixer taps need replacing Overall the room was of a very poor standard.

Absolutely shocking quality. Rooms were dirty, doors hanging off their locks; homeless around the outside.

Absolutely discussing the carpet was manky the beds was in a terrible condition u had to share the shower with other ppl needs a complete make over terrible condition.

Service was great and they changed the day for me with no extra charge. Place needs a link of paint but for the price I paid it was very reasonable.

Quirky crap-hole. You get what you pay for, and this is cheap accommodation. The main thing is, the bedding was nicely laundered, but not a lot else was clean or looked clean. I didn't sit on the sofa in my room as it looked so grubby, the kettle was old and 2.5 years past its electrical expiry date. In short, everything here should have been replaced 10 years ago.

Wow. Worst place ever, its only getting 1 star because I cant give a 0. Right well, dirty rooms dust everywhere, no TV remote and buttons on the TV didnt work. Wardrobe had a door missing. Coathanger just casually on the floor as to say we dont give a f***. The bathroom had no lock (oh and it was a shared bathroom) no plug so you coukdnt bath even if you wanted to.

Where do I start… The filthy room? The filthy beds? The filthy pooh stained dressing table and chairs? I would rather sleep in the canal that runs along side it than the cattle grid mattress that was awaiting my arrival. The shower and TV worked which is a bonus I suppose, all in all it was the worst experience of my life. Good luck to anyone who attempts a night at the mary rose Inn. Hopefully I won't catch anything whilst staying here!

Very dirty
We didn't sleep, the room was above the bar, it was very very noisy until 3.00 am, he had clients in slot clothes in the corridors that n could longer.
n don't go.

I can't give a review without having to give a star, believe me, this place needs condemning, and today! There's mould all over the bathroom ceiling, the toilet hasn't seen a toilet brush or bleach in forever, there's excrement all over the radiator in the bathroom, and the stains on the carpet are Un mentionable. Don't waste your money, pay more and stay somewhere else, please!. It's not value for money by any stretch of the imagination. You wouldn't stay even if you were drunk.

I booked room for 3 nights. It was horrible place, dirty, noisy, smelly and scary. A stone was thrown by a drunk person to my room. I requested to refund for the other two night the owner reused and I left the this horrible place after 1 night.

Not even worth a star. The room was dirty, blood on the wall in the toilet and the shower was terrible. B&Bs like this should be shut down.

We stayed here for 4 nights in a family room. The Hilton it certainly isn't, but for cheap accommodation anywhere close to London it is good value. Our room was clean — the bathroom not spotless, but fine. The beds were OK, and again clean linen etc. The fact that it has free, readily available parking is a huge advantage, and again the cheap price makes it good value. If you're looking for somewhere to relax in a pleasant, enjoyable space, don't stay here, but you'll have to shell out more ££. If you just need a place to stay that is affordable, has parking, and are willing to compromise on "pleasantness", this place is a great option.

We arrived at the hotel after navigating our way into a dead end road in the middle of an area that can only be described as a ghetto (I am not a snob but, really this was bad). The hotel faced onto a line of shops that were shut and covered with shutters. We parked the car in the 'secure' car park which was a semi fenced off graveled area underneath some arches. I noticed one small CCTV dome camera on the wall of of one of the buildings. Upon entering the 'hotel' we were greeted by a gentleman who took our name and asked if we were paying by cash or card. I said debit card to which we said there was a £1 fee (I sure that there should be no charges for using a debit card! ). Anyway payment was made and we were given our key (which was a attached to one of those plastic key fobs that you can buy from poundland for quid for 100 of them. The room number was written on the paper insert in biro. The gentleman then directed us to our room which involved walking through a bar area (well I think it was a bar area) and through several doors and up several flights of stairs. Once we entered the room we were greeted with a nice four poster bed, well it would have been nice if there weren't stains all over the materials that were the drapes. The carpet was covered in stains and looked like it had not been hoovered for weeks, there was a damp patch on the ceiling with the paint peeling off.

Yes I can say: Do not Stay here! I was really shocked, where I see my room, the room is dirty very small, with a small TV, one teabag and down with a calcified electric kettle. The faucet in the bathroom was broken. It always came water out the faucet. I was surprise that in the Bar drunks people 6 hours, drinking alcohol. Even my neighbor, he comes from France, say that hotel is really bad. In the Hotel is one Shower but, the door from the shower is broken (door can not close).

Work all round country, shopfitter, stayed here 1 night then walked out, would not let homless people Luve there.

DO NOT STAY HERE not a good hotel at best and then I found lots of bed bugs and got bitten lots. Still not even a sorry off them and no refund. Very poor management and directors I feel really sorry for the poor guys working there. They also run the BEST WESTERN Broadfield, Park Birmingham Best Inn, Kingfisher Hotel, Mary Rose Inn, Paddington House Hotel.

This Hotel is the worst place I have ever attempted to stay, the television did not work, the window was broken, the bedstead was broken, the room was so dirty it is difficult to discribe! I booked via the internet, got to the hotel and booked in, they even charge you £1.00 to use a dedit card, it went down-hill from there! We where there for an hour, I could not stand all of the above or indeed the smell of the room, I only booked because we where going to a reunion and I did not want to drive home afterwards, however, I did I could not face staying in the room any longer. Tis is the sort of place I would say the customers pay by the hour! Do not stay here. Do not book you will not get your money back.
