One of the dirtiest place I've ever seen.

Very friendly staff! A slightly bowllywoodhotel hotel. Don't be afraid of small rooms (even if comfortable) and especially don't be afraid to find your upstairs neighbor's pubic hair in the bathrooms.

The legal minimum. No doubt related to the price, a European sector adapter in the room. We could suck up the room better.
It's a shame to pay 5 euros to keep our suitcase on the day of our departure.
But well located, near the train station, a working-class neighborhood.

The whole building is in need of some serious repair. The room my partner and I stayed in literally sloped in the middle, which is kind of unsettling 3 floors up. The room itself was clean but less than basic. There was damages to the room, including exposed brickwork, unattached light fixtures and a broken shower head (pictures attached). There was only one toilet for the floor we were on and the shower was one floor up. When I went to use the shower it hadn't yet been cleaned and actually still had hair caught in the drain. Expected the place to be basic but it was practically falling apart. Wouldn't recommend.

The pictures online do not properly show the quality of the rooms, which is what you'd expect for the price. We stayed in a double room which was small, but rooms had towels and a tea station, which was nice. The room was mostly clean however there was a nook beside the bed that had been overlooked and was full of used tissues. The bathrooms on the first landing were mostly clean however there was no cold water for showers, only very very hot water, and the toilet with no shower had no light. Overall, there are some details that need to be taken care of and not overlooked.

Probably one of the worst hotels I've ever been to. Poor hygiene conditions, miserable bathrooms. The double room I stayed in had a double bed that occupied more or less all the space, and a disused shower box. I preferred not to check the bottom of the mattress to avoid surprises. The reception requires a deposit of 10 euros for the release of the keys and 20 euros for the TV remote control. If you just can't spend 50 euros more you won't die staying (especially if it's a weekend), but if you plan a longer holiday, look for more suitable alternatives. Only positive note the very good location.

My room was described as an "executive double". It was a basement room which was smelly, the paint was peeling on the windows. The light did not work in the closet sized bathroom and flickered constanty. When I reported this and the lack of toilet paper it was brushed off (I did get the toilet paper though). The shower looked grubby and there was a basement door wide open onto the street which I had to ask to be closed as I did not feel safe. There was an unpleasant smell and things bit me in the bed during the night. The trains rumble past every few minutes so if it peace you are after, forget it. Not a wink of sleep was had and I couldn't get out of there fast enough. It is not a "hotel" there is only a booth which is classed as reception and the room I had was the worst I have ever experienced.

Not a single star is deserved. You know how you arrive excited to London cause you found a cheap place to stay and didn’t bother to read the comments? Well than you land in a shabby place like this and just want to run away after first night. No one is bothering about maintance (holes in walls, sticky carpet, etc. ) and company of a drunken people from the bar next door. Definitely not the place to stay if you are looking for a overall good experience of your trip. You will only wonder if your stuff is still around when you come back from the city.

Very disappointing! Quadruple room with bathroom. Dusty carpet, infernal mattress, very poorly soundproofed. It Sentla dust, we're not breathing very well!
Difficult to open the windows to ventilate.

Worst hotel ever, wouldn't even give it one star. Their was dirty plasters in the bed, completely false advertisements online.

Sure, so the rooms are sparse and basic, you have everything you need, the office agent was more than accommodating. The best thing is the location! You are close to everything, even a place to do laundry! Great food choices, walkable distance to farmers markets, parks, The British Museum, Kings Cross Tube Station, the British Library, just to name a few. Wouldn’t recommend for families, all these old buildings have lots of stairs. Not for the fussy tourist.

I didn't think that was a beautiful resort. It's ok for the price. Is not cute but for a short holiday is OK to rest. I stayed for 3 night and I was fine. Good host, very kind. The Hotel is connected to the Underground and it's in a very good zone for move to the Centre of London.

One of the windows wouldn't close. The one in the bathroom. It was cold to take a shower. So the room for 5 persons was correct.

From the reviews of the people I expected a hotel that had the power to destroy a holiday, and instead surprised me. I state, it is not a palace nor a hotel of two and true own stars. The lobby is non existent because there is not really the place, the facility needs renovation and the cleanliness of the blankets and rooms is not excellent, but the attendants were very friendly and kind. It is a structure that serves those who need to stop to rest and sleep, not to stay 24 out of 24. So yes, as I was playing, with the expectations that others had sent me, I am quite satisfied and these stars leave them to improve where they sin.

I'm sure it's worse, but we're already down. Quite dilapidated, semi-clean linens, dirty wall and carpet, and bathrooms similar to public restrooms.
Equivalent to a hotel — 1 star in France.
For the price it is more than correct for the geographical location in this city as a 30 minute walk from any historic place.
However, we spent our padlocked suitcase stay as no safe.
The room was not even made on our second day… But hey… I prefer that and earn £50 per night than just have better and lose that money…

This hotel is disgusting. I’m not sure what’s worse. The multiple and different strands of hair IN the bed, the filthy walls and dust piled corners, the mold and wet smell from the wet, stained carpet in the antiquated rooms that aren’t represented by the pictures. Don’t book here. You will leave itching.

Dirty, you could hear the subway at all hours and there was no shampoo.

If I could I would give it less the 1 star. Worst hotel I have ever stayed in. I was given a room that had a strong smell of sewage. When I asked the receptionist to change the room the best I was offered was a airfreshner. The pictures of the hotel online don't match. Avoid.

So this hotel costs 72 pounds a night but somehow it has extremely small rooms (I was in a 3 person room wich was definitely just a 1 person room with 3 beds in it) that do not look like the photos they have in websites like booking, the "private bathroom" was basically a porta potty wich let out a foul smell of sewer. Plus they made me pay a 10 pound deposit for a room key that I had to leave at the reception whenever I went out. In conclusion if looking for a hotel avoid this at all costs.

The hotel is small, looks more like a hostel.
I found hairs on the blanket and shower, he needed a facelift and a lot more cleanliness, the bed without mattress, the towels were changed one day and the bed was also made a single day but I doubt they would change the sheets, the staff edge, very noisy, the walls looked like smoking paper and they were full of stains, you hear everything going on in the street, the carpet was broken, the bathroom is like a cabin.
The surprise: that the location is great, 30 minutes, as much an hour walk from any place you want to visit.
If you want cheap accommodation, you want to be close to everything and you don't care all the above, this is your place.

Decidedly not a fan. Found the place dirty and the plumbing noisy. Service was sometimes friendly and helpful, sometimes reticent and taciturn, depending on who was at the counter. The bathroom had mould and the moldy smell went into the bedroom too. The room did have its own bathroom…

Hotel POURRI DE CHEZ POURRI! I've never seen anything like it! The room (with sdb) is tiny, the walls are stained, the floor is smashed to the point that there was a hole! I thought I was going to get through it… The staff smiled but not very friendly in the end. Absolutely not cooperating… The door is thin, so you can hear everything that's going on in the hallways. There was also a hole between the door and the wall, as well as below the door — ZERO INDEMINATE. Sdb impractical. In short I tell you only one thing: FUYEZ!

Stayed at this hotel in May 2017 whilst on holiday in London. It met my basic needs: a bed, a shower, and a bathroom. However, in terms of amenities, it was a bit lacking. There were multiple Wi-Fi networks available throughout the building, but none of them reached the top floor where I was situated (I had to resort to my personal Wi-Fi router). The windows needed cleaning, as they were rather mouldy and had cigarette butts in the window frame. The bathroom needed cleaning and recaulking. Overall, it met my basic needs, but it really needs to clean up a bit to earn more stars from me.

Great location. This is what you pay, nothing more. Cheap hotel, cheap living. But the staff was helpful. Prepare that if you want to leave your lagguage there after checkout, it is £5 per piece!

Very good experience. Simple rooms with generally clean amenities. Not as bad as other reviewers say it is.

Absolute shit hole, the listings on Expedia are completely misleading which is false advertising. Was refused a refund after being lied to so a solicitor is getting involved and the health and safety people will be getting a call and provided with evidence.

At first we were satisfied with the room even though old-fashioned, it was enough for my daughters and myself. The manager and the night staff are friendly. On the other hand what was not my disappointment the day before our departure to find our room open and my scent vanished! Of course it is nobody and except an apology and a promise of an email to the manager nothing a gesture or even an email! This has tarnished our stay and therefore I do not recommend this hotel!

Very bad. It smelled mold in the room, it was dirty and the staff was very rude.

Bed was clean comfortable. The bathroom are very small and was not clean, you don't get very good network. As we got the room in the basement and facing the road it was noisy a bit. Location is good just 8 min walk to king cross station. You need pay 20 pounds deposit for TV remote. Overall ok experience.

It's basically a place to sleep + a very congested bathroom (like a mobile toilet), but this price is not too much to insist on! Don't be afraid to quarrel or go to the Green Brigade! But at least the counter service staff were friendly,

I took my wife and my Mum to Shaftesbury theatre and was horrified by prices of hotels, we found the Goodwood hotel to match our finances, we were really pleased with the way we were welcomed at the reception, room was clean and basic, but that's what we wanted. Staff were really helpful, and polite and didn't complain when we locked ourselves out! Nice to be in an age related hotel and not the cloned rooms we're all used to!

Need to step up. But it's good to get in and get out. Shop sleep go.

Really bad place to stay. Shockingly unclean. Room wasn't cleaned from previous occupant. Was advertised as private desperate bathroom but was shared. Some staff were friendly but was called into the office to discuss after an upgraded room and wasted our time.

Really bad rooms and horrible toilets. Very polite and helpful staff though. Thats worth 1 star…

It would be appropriate to clean the rooms and the bathroom. Also making the Wi-Fi would be super especially when you pay for it. Except the fact that you may have to wait 15mn outside as no one is here to open. It was OK (irony)

It has been an unpleasant experience, the accommodation in this place that I would not recommend to anyone, surely that for little more money is found something better no doubt, the deal has not been very good personally. As for the room we played on the floor below overlooking the main street, zero maintenance, zero hygiene, of a week we made the bed one day, but as far as cleaning nothing, not even replenishing toilet paper which we had to ask for in several or Casions who was at the reception, which was every day a different person and unknown, which contributed total distrust … I leave some fotitos to behold the reality.

Room not corresponding to the advertisement, top floor, room of 5 m2. No towel. We ask to leave our suitcases for the day, we are asked 7 pounds. Really disappointed!

It is really cheap and in a great location. Other then that… It is a 2 Star Hotel. Rooms are small and have little comforts. Not so clean environment. Shared bathrooms.

Room very small but functional enough.

This place was okay for the price. The location is quite convenient, and is affordable if you just need somewhere to sleep of a night. The room smelt a little bit as the ensuite was a little bit like a porta-loo but nothing too putrid, and certainly able to be put up with. Would be better to have a reception rather than have to go into the back room to check in/out but the bloke seemed decent enough.

It was disgusting! DONT GO TO THIS HOTEL! We stayed for a weekend in London in rooms 24 and 25. The rooms didnt look at all like on the pictures. They were tiny and dirty. But the worst was the toilet and the shower, which was to use with the other people on the floor. They were both completely dirty and seemed like the havent been cleaned for 40 years. There was a hole in the toilet room and the door for the toilet didnt even close properly. The fan in the shower looked like it has never been clean and the water pressure was basically non existent. The beds were extremely uncomfortable and very small. Again right next to the bed was a hole in the wall. The curtains were very dirty as well. During the night we were freezing because there was no duvet and the blanket seemed like it has never been washed either. We didnt want to stay there, but when we complained he was just very rude and wouldnt give us our money back. This hotel is completely false advertising what room you get! This is a warning, for everyone do not stay in this hotel!

Cheap, not all rooms have bathrooms nor toilets. It's a place to crash cheaply, not to spend time at. I am not sure the broken window in the staircase will ever be repaired.

The rooms were small, but you are going there for a place to sleep, so all you really need is a bed. The manager was very friendly.

Cheap, clean and decent and well located. Only if you spend the day outside and just need a bed.

This place is totally a mess, it says a private bathroom but in fact its shared and it looks gross, the room is small and dirty and our room is in basement wtf, I even cant breathe in that room, and its not safe at all, only have one wood lock with an old key, I was scared by that condition and I want to go away immediately, I asked the boss if he could gave part of my money back but he rejected, he service is worse than its house, he even didnt want to know why we are moving, okay I out with my money gone away, and I learned a lesson that never ever believe t moved he photos which shown on bookings, and its better you should go see the house first and then pay.

I was dismayed as soon as I arrived by the shabbiness of the room and shower down the hall — kettle on floor could not reach small broken cupboard. I thought bed looked clean but head has been itching ever since — but the icing on cake was when I asked where to go for breakfast and was handed a plate with 2 stale buns, a little jam and carton of orange clingfilmed to the plate! I couldn't believe it! even the hostel I stayed in last time was sooooooooooo much better and half the price. This place will run out of customers soon enough.

The place had such dirty windows that when I wiped them with a tissue it came away black and the kettle in the room was full of what looked like banana peel. The fridge was also very bad smelling and had some yellow liquid in it and an old cup. I am pretty sure this made me ill although I cannot prove it. Most of the staff were polite, however they could not speak very good English and a few could not speak any at all. One of the wooden slats holding up the mattress on the bed broke in the night and it took 3 nights to get it fixed. The breakfast, two croissants, sometimes quite hard and a small carton of orange juice, is dreadful (which compared to some places on Argyll Square just down the road where you get a full fry up for the same price). Then on the last night of my stay two guests came in, who I unfortunately spoke to, and they then were very rude to the staff and left a bag or two in my room overnight against my permission. Not wanting to throw them in the street I left them downstairs as they were not my responsibility. The manager, presumably because I was polite and he thought he could get away with it, then tried to charge me an extra £15 for those two bags that were dumped on me by the two rude guests. He also seemed to be very anxious about people accusing him of rape. It wasn't untill I threatened legal action that he backed down but it didn't stop him shouting in my face. I would thoroughly encourage anyone to find a place elsewhere.

Stairway and carpet throughout was dirty, old and mouldy. Bathroom not cleaned during entire stay (4 nights), was dirty and mouldy. Furniture in room old, damaged and dirty. Bed extremely unstable and mattress was a nightmare. Wardrobe unusable because so unstable. Coffee cups provided in room dirty, no spoon for stirring and 2 milks were expired. Fridge dirty and difficult to open because room so small. Bed sheets had holes and curtains disgusting. Old, single-paned window that was not lockable with a strong draft so freezing at night. Sink in room didn't drain. Water boiler dirty, only one room socket so if wanted to use had to unplug lamp. Walls throughout dirty and damaged and so on. 2 weeks later I got even better news. I brought something home from this "hotel", something I just know of from stories from my grandparents and what I thought is exterminated in Europe since decades. I got scabies. Actually no surprise if you consider the very poor hygienic standards in this "hotel". I have been travelling to well over 15 countries all over the world always on a low budget staying in cheap and crappy places but I have never ever experienced anything like that! You don't know what other kinds of vermin you might find there. Do yourself a favour and stay away from it! You might end up in a hospital.

We stayed in room 7, which cost around £70 for the night. The person who greeted us was quite abrupt and rude. The room had not been cleaned before occupation, and the fridge was absolutely disgusting. The curtains would not close with any ease as the bathroom pod was wedged awkwardly in the corner of the room. It was supposed to be a double room, but there was an extra bed in it which looked like it had been rescued from a skip. In fact all of the furniture looked the same awful state. The bed had a sheet only on top of the mattress, and there was only one blanket and a throw. The lighting fixture on the ceiling was uncovered and the rest of the electricity appeared to run from one extension lead. The light switches were also filthy. We had to find the cleaner to get towels aand toilet rolls. There was no double glazing, so it was noisy at night. Needless to say, we declined the breakfast as we were concerned about the standard of hygiene at the hotel. We feel totally ripped off.
