From the street it is not in your face but a tasteful intro to the hotel. Reception is nice. Clean, smells odour free. We stayed in room 23 (for 3 nights over april bank holiday 2021), the only one with the balcony at front of hotel. Overlooking what we think in private gardens. Beautiful. The hotel reception during covid is not manned. Contact numbers are on door. But they did ask our expected arrival time. We arrived half hr early. No one there. Went to get food by time came back there was someone there bang on our advised arrival time. Very polite older man who booked us in. No issues at all. breakfast was moved to 8am-9am due to staff hrs. Room is great! plenty of room. Bathroom is amazing. Red glitter tiles, double sized, overhead large shower head. Shampoo/shower gel/soap supplied. And has a hairdryer, not advertised in hotel write up (took my own and didn't need to). Led mirror light, fountain taps. Massive bath towels. Large 52" tv, lots of mood lighting. Even has mini fridge, kettle, coffee supplied. No milk. Buy your own. (this was also not advertised in hotel description and was a problem for us, but didnt put us off staying) single beds, NO DOUBLE!. Clean sheets. British flag decorative pillows. 1 wardrobe with a safe, NO DRAWERS but wardrobe does have 2. Top one very dusty. Put up a black top & was covered in white dust. Beds are comfy. Normally our rooms are just for pit stops but during this covid with no restaurants open to sit in and the outside seating either booked up or too cold, we have spent longer in our rooms to eat etc. We have not been supplied CUTLERY OR CROCKERY, which I think they should supply at the moment. Breakfast is continental. Not self service at this time. They have a conservatory to eat in. Social distancing has been applied, with each 2nd table closed off. Face masks to be worn around hotel at every chance. Even though says this everywhere, you still get some who think they are above not doing this.
I could not fault this hotel & would stay again. Hope all the rooms were like this one. In hotel room it does say if book direct with then not via a booking site, get 25% off. Will defo do this again. Thank you for a great stay.
