Acacia Hotel Hostel

Clean room and staff allowed us to change room to ground floor family room with all our luggage. Wi-Fi is only in kitchen and reception room but it has the most important thing, location, location, location. Breakfast is simple toast, cereal, coffee and milk which is just fine for the price. I had to lower the star rating to three for lack of cleaning in bathroom, someone vomited in sink the night before, notified reception at 7:30 but by 11:00am not cleaned.

Decent hostel for the price, bathroom hygiene and room not at the appointments the rest C cool.

Yes it was cheap and a hostel but after me and my 2 friends stayed their for only 1 night, I found thinga I thought I never would. With 5 minutes of just having a gander round the room I literally found a worn thong under the bed. The top of a mouldy fridge had a hole in it and further inspection found an old ecig inside. The pillows and covers had stains inside and under the beds, the corners and black mould. All in all I may have slept well but thats not because it was compfortable, its because I hadnt slept. Unclean rooms and yet we had to wait until 2pm for our room to be "ready". A simply glance under the bed and they would have gotten a slightly better review.

If you're looking to sleep, fine. But if you're looking for amenities, don't. The breakfast is quite poor and the bathrooms shared but if you are going to be alone to sleep it is OK and the price is good for what Q is London.

It is ok if you are looking for a place to sleep, but in general not really welcoming. No towels or soap in the toilets. Very poor atmosphere… it should be even more cheaper for the service you get!

The facilities are outdated, without elevator and for winter, little heated. It is not comfortable that the bathroom is out of the room, besides being small and what is even worse, cold, what in London and in December, is not pleasant.

The people who work there are very friendly and that yes it is very well located.
We were comfortable, except for the cold and having to climb four floors every time we went to the room.
It is worth it to cost a little more and make it a bit more comfortable.

I chose this hostel because of its low price. The room was very small, bed were ok, everything was clean. The hostel was very close to a tube station, which is great. For the price I paid, it was ok, but would not recommand for long stays.

Other reviews are judging by Kensington standards for a "Hostel" when the price per night is less than a third of a hotel. It's clean, facilities are provided and staff are friendly. Stayed 2 nights without any issues whatsoever. Would stay again when visiting London.

It's better than sleeping on the street and also it was quiet. Don't expect style or any effort made for that place. Affordable. Tv.

I was terrible bitten by bedbugs. Disgusting and poor quality rooms and bathroom. Don't go there! Receptionist didn't care too much and he refused any refund nor apologies.

I was bitten by bedbugs, receptionist didn't care too much as 'they need to inversigate'. He said they will contact me next day (we left hostel today). I doubt they will contact me. Other staff member said 'it's London, we have bugs here and you have to live with that'. They refused refund.

Fantastic mattress, such a beautiful sleep. Unfortunately the toilets are a little dirty with mold and the bunk frames are unstable.

Cheap and cheerful, receptionist was lovely and friendly when checking in. Great location not far from tube, breakfast very basic but for the price was okay, toast and cereal.

I guess you get what you pay for? Our room was in the last floor. The entire place isnt in the best shape inside, but our room was a catastrophe. Very old sheets and tiny beds, clean, but run down floor and walls. The TV was a plus, and there was a sink and fridge in the room I didnt wanna look too closely at. Staff was generally friendly, except at "breakfast". You get toast and a bit of butter, jam, milk and Coffee in a weird cellar room. The bathrooms werent very clean and I wouldnt wanna shower there. We only stayed one night, and the location is excellent, many bars and restaurants nearby, and museums during the day. If you have no standards and very little money, this might still be a fit for in a great location.

This is definitely creepiest, most disgusting place to stay. Me and my brother got stranded in London and this was our last result to stay in, it was horrible, Omar was so creepy, window wouldn't shut, there was a massive spider and bed bugs, we literally stayed on the streets in London because that was safer and cleaner than this piece of shit, please don't stay here! If you care about your safety at all, make the right decision and stay away.

If you just need a place to sleep it's good but don't expect anything from the place.

Hostel very cheap but not worth it I was with a group of 8 people in a room that had two broken beds. We had a bad experience with a man at the front desk who did not suffer it directly. A woman had reserved a room and had been assigned one with all men and friends, harassed and even masturbated in front of her. She demanded that the reception be changed, but the receptionist refused and fixed "you already knew what you were risking. " At that time I didn't believe I heard.
By the way the Wi Fi is not going very well.

It is familiar, if it is true that the rooms are small and upgradeable, but the hotel is well communicated and it is enough if you want to visit London and not the hotel.

I would not recommend this hostel if you are staying in london. The rooms are dirty, the bathroom is dirty, and the room was extremely cold. I slept with my clothes on. The only thing it has going for it is a good location and it's very cheap. Avoid this hostel and pay more for another location!

A 3-minute walk from museums (science, Natural History, decorative arts), 5 minutes from Hyde Park and its famous squirrels. Really the perfect place for a short stay in the heart of London. Enjoy.

Room was not ready when we arrived at the hostel, even though we were an hour late. Unfriendly staff and limited English speaking. Rooms were ugly and dirty; chewing gum on the walls and mildew on the ceiling. My bunk did not have a railing. Bunks were unstable and felt like they could collapse any second (one did). Would not recommend at all, even though it is cheap and the location in the city is great. Would give zero stars if I could.

The rooms were not top at all. The beds too were not comfortable. Now the location was superb. Not far from the center and access to the subway in not even 2 min. It's just a place to sleep and nothing more. The Wi-Fi was hard to pick up from our room. The bathrooms are to be shared.

Best location for museums. Friendly staff. Bit annoyed we couldn't check in early as no safe for valuables.

17:30 No bog roll in shared loo. Told reception who said they'd sort it. Came in at 01:30 still no bog roll so could not clean the piss off the seat to use it.

Hostel in a great location with basic amenities and breakfast included. The staff are friendly and private rooms are available at a decent price.

Booked in a bit of a rush and was a bit concerned about what I was going to find after reading the reviews but decided to go anyway. Happy I did! Saw at least three families during breakfast, one with a toddler. And it does make sense: the place is so close to the Natural History Museum so is perfect to take little ones to see the dinosaurs. The place is clean, including bathrooms. The breakfast is only toast, margarine, jam, two options of cereals, milk, hot chocolate, coffee and tea. But that is what you get in most hostels in England for what I can tell. There is a tesco express close to it, I bought my fruits form there as I always have them in the mornings. And again just like any other hostel the bedrooms are not decorated: they fit the beds, put a fridge on one corner and a TV on top of it. But the mattresses were comfortable, bedding was clean. Would go back, definitely. The heating was on during the nights since it was still cold despite being April already. Wi fi didn't reach the bedroom so that is why I didn't give five stars.

Great location, 5 minutes walk to the subway. Not the cleanest hotel, and the rooms are very simple, but if you expect better rooms without great decoracions, go for a more expensive one. The staff were nice. A good choice if you are looking for the cleanest.

This hostel has a dirty atmosphere drug use is obvious and some of the long term stayers brag about it and come back high. All in all if your young and alone it is unsafe.

Rude staff. Cold toast at breakfast. No kitchen utensils. Toilet window without curtain had to stay open. Mid renovation. No security. "Luggage storage" advertised=leave@reception. Felt unsafe throughout stay. Staff smoked into the bedroom window and scowled when asked to leave. No tourist info available at reception.

The location is amazing, metro/tube is a 5min walk, busses stop right around the corner. I was with a friend en booked a room for 2 person, but when we got there, we got a room for 6person. That was a nice surprise. They told us that due a booking order all the rooms for 2 person were sold out. The hostel was not so great, mattresses hurt, poor Wi-Fi range, breakfast was literally toast, jam and cereal. So I rate this hostel 3 stars due its location and offering us a 6 person room.

In 2014 we organized a trip to London with our Student Association. Hospitable people, beds were fine, showers were okay: it's simply perfect for students. Breakfast was not great to be honest. And if you're used to luxurious hotels, then this is not for you. It's just great for budget trips!

THERE IS NO HEATING, there is very cold in rooms! Bathrooms were always clean, room also was clean (but not at all — carpet was dirty). It is okay only when you want to have place to sleep in good location. If you care about conditions — Acacia is bad choise. Wi-Fi doesn't work properly, poor range.

Me and my friends stayed here for 4 days and it was utterly awfull. I stayed there with 36 people and we all had terrible rooms. I'm not joking it was so bad we are making t-shirts with the text "I survived the Acacia Hostel" When we first arrived my room smelled terrible and the window was kept open with a empty pringles can. The beds were terrible unstable and one of them had screws sticking out of it. There was a a cabinet that missed pieces of it's drawers. One of us even had a bed that collapsed, luckily he didn't get hurt. Several of the other rooms had toilets that would no longer flush or showers that hardly worked. Mine was scolding hot. The showers were all filled with fungus it was utterly disgusting. None of the rooms were properly cleaned there we pieces of crisps everywhere and some cabinets and other pieces of furniture were covered in so must dust I could cover Buckingham Palace with it. My room Number 14 also had a bit of a glass roof which was leaking so when it started raining it we had an extra shower in our room. Their included continental breakfast was bowl of cornflakes or a few pieces of toast with jam. I could hardly call that a proper breakfast. Other than that the staff was rude and most of them spoke worse english than the foreign visitors. The only good thing was that there were no curfews and there was open 24/7 and that if you're a group of students, you could do anything you wanted but other than that it was utter and complete shit.
