Reviews of Intercontinental London - The O2 5*

I've tried other hotels and none comes close to, the relaxed, stressed free, pleasant and enjoyable time you'll get. In a hectic City which London this hotel will make you feel like you're not there. But a reminder across the river of the City Banks let you know you are still there. By boat, train or car you have great access to the Hotel. If you would like to try other dinning then the O2 is only a short walk away with great restaurants to choose from. I will definitely be returning again with my wife

I visited the Meridian Lounge for afternoon tea prior to a show at the 02 arena. The hotel is well placed for transport facilities and has direct tunnel access to the 02 arena. I have visited on a number of occasions and the food and service was impeccable as usual. My only qualm is the set price for afternoon tea had risen quite a bit since my last visit but still an enjoyable experience.

We didn't stay at the hotel but had a really good experience at the spa. The facilities are really nice and clean. The massage was amazing. We had an issue with the offer when coming to payment but Sophie was really helpful and kind. Would love to return one day

Awesome hotel. One of the most polite and nice front desk staff I have come across in several years. A special shout out to Anndrea at the front desk! She is super helpful and always smiling. Wish there were more front desk staff like her at other hotels

Can't fault this hotel. Extremely well run yet sensibly priced. The bars and restaurants get very busy especially at popular times but we had a quick continental breakfast on the ground floor which was empty!

A really great place. Very comfortable, excellent service from staff who were constantly keen to assist their guests. We had a package deal that included a three course meal. Sometimes this would be a “second best” menu but not here — it was genuinely first class in both taste and presentation. Only downside is that it is a bit remote and hard to get to e. G. Taxi from Heathrow was over £100. Also nowhere else to eat within walking distance.

Pretty good so far. Just checked in tho. A little noise from the plumbing or air-con but nothing too bad. Room had a USB outlet for my phone which was a life saver for me as the outlets did not work for my power supplies.

Beautiful hotel, all staff put the customer first. Simple walk to the o2, although building work at present. Back in our room within 10 mins after the Queen concert. Enter at gate H which avoids the main entrance and all the queues.

Always enjoy my stay. Food is great and staff are always very friendly and happy to serve. I love the spa.

This is a lovely, very modern hotel. The staff are super nice and very helpful with anything that was needed. The rooms are very clean and really nice, they even had a U. S. Outlet which was really handy. The only thing to be aware of is parking. If you're staying as a guest, use their parking garage. It still costs money but half of what it costs to park in O2 parking.

Decent convention hotel with good AV setup. Rooms are spacious, staff friendly and courteous; just as you would expect from the InterContinental chain. Dropped one star for the convenience aspect. Since it's located somewhat remotely, you want be able to easily get a hold of daily essentials. Need some deodorant, a lighter or red bull? Enjoy a 30 minute walk. They should really consider adding a convenience kiosk of sorts.

Had afternoon tea here at the Meridian restaurant. Great service and fantastic food as always, it's my third visit here and can never fault a thing. Our waitress, Diana, was was attentive and knowledgeable. Stayed here for 3. 5 hours and not once felt rushed. Will be back here again, no doubt about that.

Lovely hotel and good location for the O2 or canary wharf. Lovely suite with great view over the O2 and the river, but is a little out of the way if you want central London. Staff are very professional and helpful and cannot fault the service provided by the team. No obvious area for ambassador/elite members to login, presumably the desk at the end of the check-in area but it was never staffed. Very much in contrast to the provisions made in other intercontinental hotels for members. As an ambassador member have a choice of fruit, sweet or savoury complimentary welcome snack and despite selecting savoury the option was ignored. Not unusual though as only 1 out if the 5 intercontinental hotels visited so far this year have actually got this right. Sunday's breakfast was a disaster though, waiting 5 minutes for a table, buffet area was a mess you expect some spills with a buffet when people serve themselves but needs to be cleaned and wiped up more regularly, sausage and bacon all looked anemic and as rushing food out from the kitchen, I didn't bother eating anything was so disgusted by it but just had coffee while friend ate though I did have to chase down staff to get coffee. Breakfast was no better than you expect at a holiday Inn express. Management need to look at the breakfast provision on a weekend and improve if that was typical. Monday's breakfast was a total contrast, the food was cooked properly and was enjoyable.

We had a river view room of the Thames. Outstanding view. All of the comforts and luxury. The staff are extremely nice and helpful. Public transportation is close and the O2 is thought next door if you want to eat or catch a show.

Have stayed here many times in the last 18 months and am always pleased. Excellent staff all round, polite, friendly and professional. The club lounge is a great value extra if you want to splash out for some peace and quiet. The hotel is only a 5 minute walk from North Greenwich tube station and is easily accessible by car too. If you have the budget, check out the tasting menu in the Peninsula restaurant on the 2nd floor, it's a culinary delight. Nothing but praise for this hotel from me. Will definitely return.

Amanda W.

Lovely hotel in a great location. Just a few minutes walk to the underground. You can get to the O2 through a special passageway too so no need to get wet! The rooms are spacious and well equipped with tea, coffee and toiletries. Breakfast is plentiful and worth every penny. Staff are polite and helpful. The Peninsula restaurant is fabulous with fantastic views across the river.

Great Hotel overlooking the Thames. Metro North Greenwich Very few stops to the center. Location Fabulous breakfast even sushi.

Very nice Hotel. Staff were brilliant, professional and very polite. Rooms were immaculate. Overall impressions were outstanding. Whole hotel was clean in every area. One of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in to date.

Bart P.

Located next to the O2 the hotel offers a nice view of the skyline of London. Staff is very friendly and capable. Rooms are spacious and modern with excellent facilities. The O2 at walking distance provides an alternative location to have dinner in one of many restaurants. Breakfast is great offering choices in bread and fresh fruit while providing a stunning view over the Thames river. Take a boot ride to the centre of Londen from the nearby pier.

Wonderful first stay at the Intercontinental last night… we were greeted by Mario on reception who was very welcoming and informative as it was our first stay! All staff we encountered were wonderful and helpful! Our room was amazing clean and had brilliant views of Canary Wharf! The bathroom just WOW! We were attending a concert at the O2 and you couldn’t of got any closer! We had breakfast included in our stay which was great and there was a wide selection which was constantly replenished! We even ordered room service at 12am (as We hadn’t had time for dinner) and the Food was amazing considering the time! Would highly recommend this hotel and we can’t wait to come back and try out the other facilities! Thank you for a great stay!

Great service as usual at intercontinental hotel. Had nice view of Canary Wharf and direct access to O2. Club lounge was heated to 25 c so it was uncomfortable to be there and believe that is the only thing that needs to be improved on together with son drawers for clothes in our room. Room was large and could easily fit two kids and two adults even with lots of lugage but again some drawers would have been nice. The view is perfect from the different bars and the walk to the tube takes 5 minutes for most adults. Really enjoyed it with the family and the food was good too.

Lovely hotel with wonderful views. The rooms are spacious and well furnished. The staff were very helpful and friendly. There are 2 bars, 1 on the first floor which is perfect to watch the sunset over London, service is very good but it is a little bit pricey, the view is worth it though. The sky bar on the 18th floor is very much the same but a more night time vibe, with an even better view. The beds were comfortable and the shower first class, we really liked the soaps etc which had a real lemon aroma. Breakfast was excellent although service was a little slow, it was very busy though — it took 10 minutes to get a cup of tea served. Overall pricey but good

Wonderful facilities, fantastic rooms and such pleasant and helpful staff. First time stay for myself and my husband… Perfect for if you have just seen a band play at the O2… This hotel was scrupulously clean (a big tick in my book) … Also they serve probably the best scrambled eggs I have ever eaten… Intercontinental… We will be back!

A friend of mine has recently moved into one of the apartments in the Arora Tower. The buildings are very clean and tidy as you would expect. The bars are very fancy with high ceilings and (surprisingly) reasonable costs for drinks. Only thing I will note, the lifts were rather bouncy and not of the same standard as the rest of the building and facilities.

Benoit S.

Outstanding Service and excellent cuisine

Siobhan H.

Well appointed and spotless rooms. Staff extremely helpful. Spa was clean and relaxing. The highlight was Afternoon Tea in the Meridian Bar — delicious and beautifully presented. Feel totally indulged and very chilled

Fantastic 5 star hotel. 2 minute walk to The O2, 5 minute walk to North Greenwich Station which will take you to all destinations in London. The service at the hotel was great, so friendly and helpful, really attentive. The indoor pool and spa is just brilliant, the pool is large with a jacuzzi pool, sauna and steam room. Very plush. My son and I enjoyed it very much. We had a superior deluxe room with river view. Huge, spacious and very much 5 star. Good up to the Sky Bar on the 18th floor for breathtaking views of The City! Will definitely visit again.

Super technological Hotel in Greenwich near the O2, has all the necessary amenities. Breakfast

Andrew M.

There is no finer place to stay in London, and I've stayed in plenty. The staff are amazing, engaging, and extremely polite. The quality of the food and drinks spectacular! We were attending an event at The O2 so this hotel is perfectly placed with it's own private access way.

Robert D.

Hotel location was great for us as right by the 02. The room was clean and nicely decorated. Tea and coffee making facilities were very welcome. Swimming pool was fabulous. Only minor criticism was one bath robe was missing and there were no slippers in the room (which we wanted to use to go to pool)

Pete J.

Once off the tube the location couldn't be better. In a great part of London and has so many places around it. The rooms were top class and the staff made sure the stay was the upmost it could be. Was an all round very nice hotel.

Mark S.

Unless you're going to the 02 this hotel is a bit out of the way but it's certainly worth a try if you're going to Canary Wharf or an event at the Olympic Stadium. The reception staff were all very friendly and kindly upgraded us. The room had a good view across the River, was very clean and had a brilliant bathroom compared to other 5* hotels I've been to, with a very nice range of products. The bed was very comfortable indeed but no hotel has ever bettered the range of pillows I've had at a Premier Inn. Breakfast was very good with a broad range of options. Naturally I went for the full works and while I loved most of it I'd like to know why so many luxury hotels can't nail scrambled eggs. If the opportunity arises I would take the opportunity to stay here again. Just as good, if not a bit better than the Times Square Intercontinental I stayed at in New York.

Kerem S.

It was a unique 7 days. The staff were hospitable. Breakfast was top-notch. I Wouldn't doubt naming this hotel as the best for its price range in London. The Hotel was pleasantly well situated as well it takes more or less 20 minutes to travel to the central London from hotel.

Martyn M.

The Intercontinental is a vast hotel complex situated right next to the O2 Arena on a gorgeous corner of the Greenwich archipelago. While the size and opulence of the hotel could be a little intimidating, the staff who were courteous, helpful and welcoming for every second of my visit gave the place a warmth you might not expect. Gym and pool were well appointed and spotlessly clean, and the breakfast (the only meal I had at the hotel) was exceptional. Hotel residents can enter the arena area directly from the hotel. My room was very large, well stocked with complimentary items with good TV choices and a great view of the Arena and the Thames.

Ben S.

This was my fourth stay here and was again not disappointed. Excellent service, great rooms with everything you need, and a wonderful breakfast. We had the 7 course tasting menu in the Peninsula restaurant on the second floor. This really is a meal worth having, very lovely indeed. Whether you're there for a gig at the O2 or wanting a base for London, this should be on the top of your list. It's a 5 minute walk to North Greenwich tube station which will have you in to central London within 25 minutes. Lovely place.

Ian C.

Everything a 5 star hotel should be. From the moment you step through the door to check out. Fantastic room, great river view. I didn't eat at the hotel but the menu looked good. The staff are everything you would expect, nothing is too much trouble.

Alan W.

Very impressed following our one night stay. The hotel is literally yards from The O2, the service from arrival to departure was impeccable, the room was spacious & modern & the food was great too. I would highly recommend this for anyone visiting The O2 or anything else nearby.

M R.

Amazing hotel with exceptional staff and attention to detail exceeding 5stars. The views from room and. Sky bar (top floor) will blow your mind.

Stefan S

This Hotel is super! It is extremely modern and luxurious. The rooms are well equipped and very clean. In the bathroom there is a separate bath and shower. Especially the Breakfast stands out, it has a huge selection of all kinds of food. The staff is extremely attentive, friendly and nice. The location is okay with that. For a concert in the o2 Arena, it is perfect, because you have to go to the hall, only 3 minutes. The next metro Station is 5 minutes away and from there one comes in just under 20 minutes to the city centre. The picture shows the view from the hotel's own Bar in the 18th century. Floor.

Ed P.

Great location close to the o2. Lovely restaurant, beautiful rooms with an amazing view of Canary Wharf. Excellent service from staff. Tasty breakfast in the morning with an excellent choice of food.

Daniela A.

Such an amazing Afternoon tea experience! I went there with my bf yesterday. We had such a warm welcome from the concierge who accompanied us and introduced us to The Meridian lounge manager. The service was excellent, the best service and afternoon tea I have had so far in London. He offered us 2 complementary glasses of champagne, explained to us the food selection and received also the 25% discount booking with the afternoon tea website. The manager is top notch — went the extra mile! We felt very well looked after and couldn't recommend more this place! At the end the concierge again swept us over our feet with his professionalism and extra mile — he opened the door for us and asked us about our experience and other plans we had! He seemed genuinely friendly and passionate about his job. I would like to thank all the staff there, really amazing experience! I will definitely go again!

My boyfriend and I just had a 1 night stay here after a show at the O2. I booked the show before Christmas and unexpectedly my boyfriend had an operation on his ankle 2 weeks ago and is on crutches, he was still determined to go so we decided to stay here. The staff were amazing, they got us a wheelchair to borrow around the hotel as he was struggling quite a bit, they phoned us once we got to our room to make sure everything was ok and if they could do anything else for us. They upgraded our room and we ended up having an amazing view over Canary Wharf. The room was lovely, more than I expected. I will be recommending this hotel to everyone I know if they plan to go to the O2.

John O.

Food is well cooked and served. I enjoyed almost all their cuisines apart from African. Rooms are well cleaned, furnished and up to standard. The hotel is strategically located, you get to enjoy a nice view of the River Thames. Also, you can well connect to other parts of the town from the hotel. The customer care while at the hotel is pleasing, room service is uniquely awesome as well. There are ample conference rooms for important or international events.
