A comfortable hotel with a Michelin star restaurant not too badly price for London.

We had a fantastic stay at the hotel! Ate from the brunch menu when we arrived at hotel. Food was absolutely gorgeous. Room was ready early, wasn’t expecting our room to have a bath but it did! We spent most of the evening in the bar downstairs, it was fairly quiet — but possibly the best cocktails we have ever had. The barman was extremely knowledgeable on all of his drinks (Frederico) Thankyou for making our stay so fabulous!
Sadly didn’t have time to try the sauna/steam room or the secret garden. But we will be back!

I have now had the pleasure of staying at this lovely luxury boutique hotel on 4 occasions in total and yet again it was a perfect stay. I provide my security services to two separate clients with four sites in total. I work 6 days a week and up to 78 hours each week. So, I have been taking a well-needed 3 days off every 7 weeks to rest up and catch up on some relaxation time. I keep coming back to the same hotel as it's the perfect place to recharge my battery and get some relaxation in. The super king beds are huge and extremely comfy and you even get a pillow menu with a section of different pillow types to choose from. The fabulous bathroom with the massive deep bath is really a huge draw for me as I only have a shower room at home. The Wilson Courtyard suite has a double-sided deep wide bath for two and two separate walk-in showers. My older Brother came to London to visit me for two nights and so I booked him a King Room. He loved his stay and made a joke about being able to swim in his bath as it was so deep. When I went to visit him in his room, I was rather surprised to find his bath was the same depth and width as my bath the only difference was it was not double-sided which I don't need anyway. On this stay, I was struggling with a terrible cold. When the lovely minibar attendant came in to check my minibar, she noticed I had some Manuka honey by the kettle and she could tell I was sick. She then asked if there was anything in particular, I needed.

Overall it’s a nice hotel, we went there to celebrate our 7 year anniversary. The staff were really nice and helpful throughout our time there. Unfortunately the 7th floor was closed for the whole time we were there so we couldn’t use the Angler restaurant or terrace but there is a restaurant (chophouse) and bar (3bar) on the ground floor which was still nice, we also visited the secret garden on the 1st floor which you need to reserve but it was not what we imagined and there was no staff to serve us so we went back down to the bar. Please note that everything closes at 10pm due to COVID-19. We also booked two spa treatments but as there is only one treatment room we had to have them at different times, there also is no swimming pool and the sauna and steam room was closed due to COVID-19. The main let down for us was that our room was never cleaned nor did we get clean towels throughout the whole 3 days we were there which is surprising as we did put the sign up to ask our room to be cleaned.

I had a lovely time with my husband for a little get away after the Christmas madness. The team checking us in and out were very professional, the bar and restaurant team were lovely also. Our room was nice and clean. Lovely hotel.

Excellent all very good breakfast room a bit more spacious and there is everything from the plug adapter to the dryer to sunglasses coffee machine and the excellent x and clean.

Can not fault this hotel. Spent Christmas Eve here and had Christmas lunch in the Chop House. They do think of everything. Nothing too much trouble. Very modern, clean hotel. Extremely friendly and efficient service. Can’t wait to return!

First time stay highly recommend spotlessly lean great staff.

Superb. Check in was smooth, staff extremely helpful and welcoming. The room was great, particularly liked the massive bath and dyson hairdryer. Cocktails in all the bars were good. Breakfast in the chophouse did not disappoint either. The spa was spotlessly clean. All in all, one of the best hotel experiences I’ve ever had!

Gorgeous surroundings, great bars — love the roof garden (especially in the winter)

I was really disappointed with the service today at the enchanted garden. It was a beautiful place and my drink was nice but the service so slow. I pressed the button for service 3x, it took ages to get served and ages for our drinks but quick to issue a bill with £7 service charge! Won’t be back.

Been an in-house guest very long ago. Decided to come again, this time just for a food and drink and I guess you have a way different attitude towards non-in-house guests. The personnel didn't seem quite happy. They were nice, but not quite happy. When we ordered a prosecco, we were served some cheap sparkling wine you can buy at one of the nearest shops for less than £20 and asked to give almost £52 for the bottle. Moreover, one of my friends saw a mouse walking around. This isn't a 5* hotel, it's a hole!

A perfect place for a quiet solitary lunch. The salmon quail scotch eggs were perfectly done with a creamy texture. The tea was… tea but accompanied by pleasant staff it always makes a difference.

Went for a Wedding great venue. Brilliant place to stay loads of extras, decor/exhibitions on display are fantastic. During our visit great art by Johny Dar on the 1st floor. Food and drink amazing. Very pricey bar but to be expected. All rooms are lovely but we went for a bigger room over our friends and loved it would recommend paying extra and getting a bigger room/suite. Will definetly be using again! Would recommend to all.

Absolutely love this hotel. The staff are amazing and give a superb personal service. The environment both the rooms and general areas, second to none. Highly recommend staying at this great hotel.

Today I walked in off the street in need of a quiet place to make some calls, work and grab a drink. The foyer and reception areas were full. I was approached by one of the staff at reception, I explained what I needed and they took me to a private room with bar and pool table and treated me like I was a vip. Alex ensured I had everything I needed and even challenged me to a game of pool! Probably the best experience I have had in a hotel in London. I will definitely be staying here!

Nice place. Had a work function here so can't comment on drink prices. Security is probably a bit lax and drinks quality could be better. Also they ran of food for our function which is pretty ridiculous to be honest.

I went for some drinks with a friend after work and I absolutely loved the environment. The bar is super beautiful inside, the service and food are great. And I had an amazing drink. The cocktail of the month.

Very good place, the staff was very good for us and the rooms was very very good. You will see where is the money you need to book the room. Nice installations… And the restaurant so good…

Probably top 5 hotels have ever stayed in. The staff was incredible. The art was interesting. The food very good. The automated experience is neat. There's a odd kinkiness about it. Best shower I've ever used in my life. Pillows the sheets the bed awesome. Also the downstairs bar had a tremendous DJ and very cool people around.

Lovely hotel, food was amazing especially the scrambled eggs and salmon, rooms almost sound proof, was the perfect place to stay over the bank holiday weekend! Will definitely return.

Nice vibe, entrance slightly hard to find and doesn't feel like a hotel. Not obvious how to check in. Maybe this is the point… But doesn't resonate that well for me. Service and drinks were fantastic.

Great venue for work events. Food is great and so us service, but don't order shots as they will not tell you that vodka shots are £10 each until they being you a bill for £150! Shocking!

We had a fantastic stay here. I've been lucky enough to stay in some of London's best hotels, and we ordinarily stay in Mayfair, however as our dinner reservations were at restaurants this side of town, we decided to try it out. We were very pleasantly surprised. We could not fault the service or the room. The breakfast on two days I would say was average, and I did miss the beautiful crockery you'd find at the Mayfair hotels, but the significant difference in price means that this is not a complaint, merely an observation. We would definitely stay again.

One of my favourite hotels to stay in. Always friendly, they serve good food and lovely cocktails. The room and bed is very comfortable. Close to Liverpool St station. Never had a bad stay.

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay here. The room was amazing and the staff went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Excellent location near Moorgate and Liverpool Street stations, and lots of options for food and drinks nearby. Will definitely consider staying here again if we ever need accommodation in London.

I was persuaded to dine at the South Place Hotel Chop House restaurant by a good friend of mine. I declare without reservation that the experience was worth every penny. The environment was serene and private, the restaurant staff genuinely warm and friendly, the menu stacked with variety and my choice was simply exquisite! From the delicately presented smoked salmon starter (with accompanying condiments) to the slowly grilled spatchcock chicken laced with roasted garlic and watercress, the flavour was right on the money! The portions were also surprisingly generous for a City based restaurant. I must say that the all round experience was awesome and even though I rarely write reviews, I thought the Chop House was well worth making an exception! Loved it!

A lovely place, I totally enjoyed my evening. I was slightly worried about where they kept all the guests coats. No numbering system!

I attended South Place Hotel for a work event. The place seemed very modern, clean and tidy. Staff were pleasant and helpful. All very nice.

South Place is cool, a great location, good value at the weekend and has a Michelin starred restaurant. It was regularly our go to place in the city but somehow the shine has been lost a little. I think the major drawback is not being able to get a late drink even as a resident.

I would like to give this review zero stars, but am obligated to select at least 1. During our recent stay at your hotel, we had to alter our reservation and check out a few days early. We were told by your staff that we could not check out of your hotel, even though it was prior to check out time, and were told that we would have to pay for the room for that night whether we stayed there or not. Your hotel charged us $417 for the night and there was a rate online of $214. So your hotel not only gauged us on the price, but held us hostage to stay the night there even though we had to leave. Your staff was extremely condescending and actually rude to us, and it felt like they were looking down on us. The worst part of the whole thing is that when we called your hotel upon our return home to try and work this out, we were told by your management in an email that you had refunded a number of guests due to the Adele concert being cancelled. So my question is you have a policy for some and not others? Some reasons are more acceptable than others? This whole experience was terrible and should never have happened. This is not ethical business practice for a paying customer.

Lovely hotel. Very attentive staff. Very good food. Rooftop bar is nice. Room amenities are great, especially the automatic blinds that make the room completely dark. I can think of nothing to complain about!

Booked this to stay for my husbands 50th Birthday as the location was a great starting point to meet friends travelling in to town. Staff — couldn't fault they were all impeccable and accommodating.
Room — we had a studio suite which was a great size. Slept so well, nice black out electric blinds. Nice small touches ear plugs although it was very quiet, good selection of soft drinks and Alcohol in the mini bar. Lovely wet room bath room with excellent two person bath.
Nice chill out dj to come back to after a night on the town to sit and have a drink to before retiring to bed.
Excellent choice for breakfast and a lowly lazy Sunday with late check out no rush to leave. Would recommend and would go back.

Stayed in this hotel for my girlfriend's birthday. The hotel is very nice, and the staff all made us feel welcome. There were nice little touches, such as a cake with hand-written-and-signed birthday card from some of the staff. All in all it was a memorable visit; unfortunately it was only one night (I'm not made of money).
— The room (Wilson) was comfortable and spacious, and my girlfriend described the bathroom as like a 'showroom'. Remote controlled blinds were amazing.
— Our favourite bar was the 'Secret Garden' on the first floor. Helpful bar staff and a large selection of drinks.
— The little steam/sauna set-up was very cosy; but the steam room was not hot enough.
— Great food in the ground floor chop house. The sharing pork dish was a little overcooked. Make sure you get the free-flowing brunch.
— Unique décor in the hotel; made us feel like superstars.

Wonderful location if you work in London. The hotel itself is very nice, and the restaurants are good. The rooms are extremely nice, and they have blackout blinds. Staff is fantastic as well Very responsive and proactive. So why 3 stars? Well the housekeeping is always opening and closing doors and it's extremely loud. They normally start at 7 or 8, hence you cannot sleep in at all. The doors themselves are just so loud you hear everything in the halls. It's very odd considering this is a new building (2014).

There is a bar inside the hotel that is stunning, when I went there the roof was open, the cocktails are excellent, the atmosphere elegant and cozy. Highly recommended.

Very nice hotel. Easy walk from Moorsgate Tube station. Friendly staff. Cool rooms with latest electronic gadgets. I felt like James Bond.

The food, drink and hospitality were excellent. There was an issue with the microphone in the function room, but apart from that everything was great. Staff were friendly and very attentive.

Poor breakfast, overpriced, orange juice poured for you when you arrive without asking and then charged £4.50. Waffles are very basic & boring, may as well be made by a kid from a packet mix.

Had a drink in the bar on the 7th floor. Very nice. Although did take a while to get served. Once we were served it was very good.

Sunday Brunch food is great, I had steak and tomato salad — All you can drink prosecco, Bellini and mimosa too. Great for an afternoon catching up with friends. Although there is a 2 hour limit on the table.

Had a wonderful night in one of the Dominion rooms last weekend. Great service, beautiful room with lovely little touches. Will definitely be back!

A really funky hotel tucked away discreetly in the City. Has some delicious Sunday brunches you get with unlimited cocktails/prosecco which is a total bargain given the high quality of the place. There is a really nice bar and roof terrace on the top floor which has some good views. Generally this place is quiet quiet offpeak.

Second time my wife and I have stayed at the South Place on holidays. Great access to the London tube, excellent staff and very comfortable rooms. Will return next time we are in London.

On last Thursday I met a friend for drinks and dinner and ended up at 3 South Place. The place has a very upmarket feel that is obviously appreciated by all the suits that were present at the establishment. The decor is very much contemporary, modern with an affluent feel. The staff were very attentive, both at the bar and in the restaurant but not overly so that you feel pestered. They really made you feel that they were there to help you with anything you needed. Drinks were on the pricey side which was to be expected (A bottle of Meantime beer and a G+T was £15.75) ; staff were very happy to open a tab should you need it. They had a nice selection of beers, wines and spirits. The restaurant was well staffed and busy, I would recommend reserving a table as the restaurant isn't very big and filled quite quickly. The a la carte menu has a nice selection of different cuisine with sandwiches for a lighter meal to steaks which sounded divine to seafood dishes. I went for the pork belly dish whilst my friend had the lamb curry. Both were well portioned, nicely presented and tasted amazing. I'm always very disappointed by a poorly cooked pork belly dish but this was done to near perfection and aptly paired with cubes of black pudding, cider pickled apples and what I think was swede. All in all, the whole experience was excellent and I would definitely not hesitate to visit again.

I miss from Paris the incredible offers for brunch – the best thing to do with friends at the week-end. The luxury of having the time to enjoy an informal lunch, the sipping forever of fantastic coffee or tea, still a bit sleepy, waking up slowly and chatting. So much more comfortable than the seriousness of lunch, too structured. This is week-end time. The trend is arriving in London and the South Place Hotel has a very tempting one that includes complimentary Prosecco, Bellinis and Mimosas. What better way to celebrate? You will love the easy transition to a cocoon space – leather sofas, lounge atmosphere with a skill for design touches, dandelion effect on the walls, glass window overlooking the street for people watching, choice of individual tables or a long communal ones, morning papers….
