Good rooms. Good service. Breakfast very good. Open to all concerns.

Lots of insects in the room, extremely hot without being able to cool off, not that good service, really small breakfast. Expected much more than this. Doesn't change sheets. + nice beds.

The location is excellent, just across the road from the British Library and then walk ingenable, from Kong's Cross for about 15 minutes, room cleaning (live for a few leisure is very clean, this should be the characteristics of the British hotel bar), no air-conditioning only provide son (personal requirements), if summer to live clearly, breakfast is good, But hot water is a big problem, bath also washed and hot water out! Living here in winter is sure to be cold!

Small single rooms. The place seems quite old but compact with narrow staircases. The Wi-Fi would not work on the 2nd floor. There are no locks on the door — the receptionist said they did not have a break in for a while but you can leave your passport at the reception to have it put in their safe. The only plus was the food — really good full English breakfast.

We had a room that had to go up some impossible stairs and no elevator possible.

Cold, small room on third floor. No desk so not ideal for business travelers. Heating switched off often so room was very cold. Breakfast is good and staff friendly.

Cozy and family hotel. Family room is suitable in size and modern. Top English breakfastand and very good breakfast service. Hotel and stay to repeat. Recommended 100%

Enjoyed my stay at the hotel. Very comfortable room with a tidy bathroom they're very basic with the toiletries and the use of plastic cups not glass. The bed was massive and very comfy though we were on the ground floor and I could hear upstairs moving quite a lot with squeaky floorboards and this is made worse by the fact that there is a tube line just below the hotel that can be heard when it is very quiet in the room and this runs until around 11:30 and starts up at 5:30 in the morning. I needed to use the iron and ironing board whilst I was there and there wasn't one in the room but they did provide one to me it was a very dirty ironing board though sufficient.

Clean, comfortable, good breakfast. Suitable for business or couple travelling.

I've stayed here once before. Breakfasts are good and consistent; staff is nice; beds are comfortable and location is perfect for the culturally inclined. On a quiet street close to British Library.

Lovely staff, nice clean room and a pretty average breakfast. Only issue would be that the water took a while to heat up but it wasnt a big problem.

Short walk from Kings Cross station, made to order English breakfast available and staff are very accommodating with leaving luggage before checkin.

Not bad for a few days. It is a Victorian house in a quiet area and z about 20 minutes from Downtown. Good heating and typical English Breakfast. Right next door there were others even with better pint but you can come up without a problem.

Very friendly staff, good breakfast, comfortable beds with a nice view of a park nearby, and very nice and tidy rooms. Only complaint would be that the shower was not functioning properly for us (running at a very slow rate). Lots of tight stairways too. Very happy with this choice, nice location and easy to find on a map thanks to the unique crescent shape. Quite neighbourhood too!

No hot water! Stayed here for 5 nights and the first 3 days there was no hot water at all, and the rest of the time there was sometimes a bit hot water, so you had to be quick, very quick! This is literally unacceptable, and it didn't got better even when mentioned to the staff. Response was always, that there should be hot water or it isn't their fault. Heating was also not perfect, as it sometimes worked, and sometimes not — but most of the time it was way to cold. If the heating worked, the cleaning staff turned it off, and hence the room was freezing cold. Likewise, the room in the top is definitely not suited for elderly people, as the stairs are super steep. For the rest: the standard room is of reasonable size and clean. If you have the rooms facing the backyard, they are also quiet.

Great victorian venue with on going remodelling of the rooms. Quiet,, spatious and modern with new italian shower. Very Nice choice of sets of lights with a different power of enlightment… Carpets,   main entrance, central hall and front desk still in need of restauration works. Very Nice staff that tries to take care of their customers the best way possible. A nice thing is that even after check out they can Keep your bags, suitcases, luggages until you take your flight or finish your shopping.

This is a great little, somewhat old fashioned, English hotel. My parents and other family members stay here when visiting. It's clean, well presented, the staff are friendly & attentive, and it's very good value for the area. There is sometimes a bit of noise at night from students, especially those here for a summer term; there is a large residence hall across the garden crescent & there are many other such halls in the neighbourhood, and some of the rooms are up narrow stairs, but it's hardly fair to complain of that for the price. The building is in a regency house, set in beautiful Bloomsbury, just a stone's throw from Euston, King's Cross & St Pancras stations or the British museum. It's a relatively short walk either to Covent Garden or Oxford Street. I highly recommend this cozy little place.

PURPOSE FOR STAY We booked for 3 night stay in order to attend a course within The Bloomsbury area. Aug 2017 AREA From the Mentone to the Bloomsbury was a good 30 min walk, but there are lots of black cabs to hail, expect to pay approx £6 per trip. Being close to Russell square u will find a Tube station n lots of places to eat n drink. The British Museum is 20 mins walk away n there are lots of cycle hire ranks in the area if u wish to venture out. PARKING We found a great car park in Bernard street. So much cheaper than anywhere else. It's only a 10 min walk from the Mentone Hotel. HOTEL FACILITIES With no lifts… it's a hell of a climb with the cases n we were only on the 2nd floor. We both agreed we wouldn't have wanted to have been on the 3rd 4th or 5th. BEDROOM We had a double rm. It was out the back, so not much of a view but it was modern, clean, tastefully decorated and a reasonable price. Sadly the Bed was horrendously hard, it was like sleeping on Bedrock. I have an expensive pocket sprung at home so it was a bit of a shock to my spine. There's a TV. Chest of drawers, 1 bedside cabinet, wardrobe, sofa and coffee table for the Kettle, tea n coffee facilities. Bring yr own biscuits! Wi-Fi Poor. It was very slow and kept dropping out. BATHROOM… It was extremely small, no bath just a shower n the toilet was in a corner so u had to sit on it sideways with yr knees touching the sink. Very Ltd soaps provided, so bring yr own.

Good location to train station. Clean and nice comfy beds. We got the last room and it was right by the entry way. The noise was pretty bad. There were girls giggling and laughing loud inside for a good 20 minutes around 11pm and the workers never said anything, so I had to learn out and ask them to be quiet. You heard the door open every time and everyone who talked and walked in. Breakfast starts kinda "late" at 7:30am so we didn't get to try it before catching our train. Wifi is pretty bad, and our bathroom was really small. Our knees touched the sink when we used the toilet. Pretty far walk to the big attractions but easy access to buses.

Great location for Euston. Quiet area but only 5mins walk from Euston station. Nice newly decorated room & freshly cooked breakfast.

This is a reasonably priced place to stay if you only need to rest your head and need to be in the Bloomsbury area, and pay in advance for a quick getaway. The place doesn't have a lift and only has a couple of rooms on each floor, so not accesible for people with disabilities or families with small children.

Great location with a park across the street. Minutes to cafes and restaurants. 5 minute walk to the underground station. Room 37 has big windows that open in and let you use the balconies. The price is right for the location. The beds are comfortable.

Location is great — just a short walk from Euston station, and there is a cycle hire station right outside. Room quality is good, but size is very variable — I stayed in a single room, which was decorated fine for a room of that price, but extremely small. There was a single bed, a wardrobe, and a desk, and very little room to walk around them, as you might expect in university accommodation. Still, this didn't cause any actual problems. The room next to mine contained two double beds, and was much more nicely decorated. It was also much larger. I was able to gain access to that room because the shower in mine had no hot water. I told reception and they said I could use another room to shower in, but there​ was a miscommunication which meant that I had to go down and ask again before I was actually given the key to the other room. Staff were apologetic and trying to be helpful, though. The free breakfast was surprisingly good, considering my room. It's a slightly hectic service with table service. You can order a full English, and there's also a small selection of pastries, cereals, toast, jam, and fruit, for self service. Overall this hotel is pretty OK. I'd be wary of paying full price, though, particularly for the single room. It's probably a reasonable price for the location, but not for the quality and size of the room.

Great location. Small rooms, narrow stairs to reach them and there is no elevator. Poor soundproofing. Friendly staff.

Really nice place to stay when wanting a mid range hotel in London. Nice size room breakfast included and a good price. Great location as it's a 10 min walk from St pancreas and and not too far from tubes, would recommend to others.

One of the worst hotels I have stayed in. Even for a two star rating. Beds were too small and inadequate, TV wouldn't pick up anything BBC, bedding was itchy. I was kept awake all night by the thumping around from the upstairs room, also by the noise of them using the toilet. I could also hear what I think was a washing machine though not sure as no one was manning reception at the time I enquired. Found silver fish in bathroom. Breakfast was good reasonable choice though was unable to enjoy in peace due to the noisy eastern European social chit chat coming from the open door of the kitchen. My advice if you want to budget there is a Travelodge and premier inn in the same area (Stayed round there regularly for business), best off going to one of them.

I would have given this place 5 stars if I knew everyone else in my group was happy, but quarters became more and more cramped the further up you go. I was lucky enough to stay on the main floor. The best kept secret about this place is the breakfast and the wonderful staff who make it. All of the desk staff are great too! Beware if you stay in the room to the left in the main hall, its a fantastic room, but sometimes people will run across the roofs of the other buildings if you're not careful with the window dressings.

My Dad and I booked a twin room the day we got to London. The room was a nice size and the beds were comfortable. We could fit two full-sized suitcases in the room and had enough room to open both at the same time. The bathroom didn't have a lock on it but that wasn't a big deal. It was located really close to the British Library / St. Pancras / Kings Cross. We walked to the Pizza Express on Euston Road at almost midnight and it was only a few minutes walk. We were surprised at how many people were in the breakfast room in the morning as it was so quiet during the night (and my dad is a light sleeper! ). The breakfast was great (egg, bacon, sausage, beans, toast, hashbrowns). There was also a self-serve table with croissants, yoghurt, fruit, and juice. Very helpful and nice staff. We would have stayed there another night but they were booked up!

Clean, cheap and cheerful with smallish room. Friendly staff. No Wi-Fi. Decent breakfast with plenty of choice. Good location for railway station. Decent restaurants and pub nearby. Quiet — even though we were near the entrance and hotel was pretty much full. The person who gave 1 star is being rather mean IMO. To get a better place you need to pay more. 4 stars for value, 3 for room.
