Beautiful setting, excellent facilities, professional staff and superb food.

Spent four nights here for my 50th birthday. Such a beautiful Hotel. Amazing views of Saunton Sands. The staff there are fantastic. Polite, helpful and always smiling. The food is first class. Had a relaxing facial by Janey in the beautiful Spa. Cannot fault this place for rest and relaxation. I will be definitely booking a return trip.

We went there yesterday for a delicious 😋 afternoon tea and the service was impeccable, the tea was amazing. The surroundings and views were just fabulous, possibly the best scenery in Nort Devon. We will certainly be recommending Afternoon Tea at Saunton Sands to all our family 👪 and friends. Stayed for one night (unfortunately) We were very lucky to have had very nice weather but what made the stay perfect was the staff, so helpful & professional, from the point we stepped through the door we were made very welcome & the complementary glass of Prosecco went down a treat, the room was very clean, modern, spacious, the infinity suite was a lovely little treat, the food was amazing, served very quickly & again the staff very professional, such a lovely beach to walk or just relax, my only regret is we should have booked a few more nights🌞😊

Had a lovely time doing afternoon tea which was a voucher given to us at Christmas 2019 which they kindly honoured. Tasty sandwiches and nice selection of cakes and scones. The views are beautiful too, would definitely recommend.

I think our rooms are good but big showers heads. Great staff friendly and good service. Great drinks and great food. Good people watched we will come back to hotel 🏨 next year in different rooms for seafront. Thank you for have us to stay See you soon.

My partner and I popped in for a cream tea this afternoon. The staff were very welcoming and friendly, and they provided excellent service… and not forgetting the magnificent sea views.

Amazing place, summer or winter! Most amazing location, with the warmth and class, from a still family run hotel, that’s unbeatable.

I love Art Deco so it was marvellous to view the architecture of the now fine building. The view cannot be matched, it is breathtaking. A luxurious stay. Could indulge again soon.

You’ll feel as though you’re abroad. Very helpful management and staff. The dining is very appetising and served efficiently and by friendly people. The accommodation is comfortable and appealing and the spa treatments are excellent.

Disappointing that you still have to wait outside the beach side grill and wait for a staff member to take you to your table even if the weather is bad. Why is this still the case when restrictions have been lifted? What about if you just want a drink outside? Why are you making people wait outside in the car park and have to ring a bell for someone to come down? Strange system.

We stay here at least once every year and it never fails to impress. Fantastic Art Deco hotel, very attentive staff wonderful views and access to the beach. Reminds me of a ocean liner stranded atop the cliffs.

Amazing view, had sea facing room as requested and what a view, looking forward to returning soon. Little note, had single room as there was only myself using room, was not that keen on a single bed in room as usually you still get double or king even tho it’s a single room.

We enjoyed an afternoon tea in The Dinning Room and nothing was too much trouble, extra sandwiches, different selection of drinks and such friendly and attentive staff. The attention to detail was 5**

We have stayed here couple times already and the Hotel Services and especially staff are 100% perfection. They are so on the ball with looking after everyone. Truly professional service. My wife and I love this place. And we will be back again for sure… cant recommend this hotel enough … no words other than fantastic. Thankyou all …

We had a fab long weekend stay here, lovely food and really accommodating staff. The beach was amazing and we so enjoyed our two hour surf lesson whilst the children were in the kids club (which they didn’t want to leave! ). We will definitely be visiting again.

Attended the festive family fun day. What fantastic value for money! Amazing 3 course meal whilst looking at stunning views, a Christmas party for the kids and full use of facilities for the day.
The only thing I would say is that they swimming pool changing rooms are very cramped and hot. With lots of families trying to change at the same time it was quite challenging. Unfortunately my daughter fainted!
The staff were incredibly helpful and found a comfortable place for her to recover and moved our dinner reservation back until we were ready. The manager Anthony made sure we had what we needed and came back to check on my daughter during lunch to make sure she was okay. Overall amazing day, beautiful place and lovely staff. Highly recommend.

I would recommend anyone who wants rest relaxation lovely food in a wonderful setting and very friendly staff you can't go wrong this was my second visit this year and I'm going to try and have another one before Christmas.

3 stars ⭐️ would recommend for location, great food & great staff in restaurants & bars. Reservations didn’t relay relevant information to us about renovation work by our room, (sea view) or lack of children’s club availability & in June expected it to be open daily & busy (but as advertising for staff for Monday’s & tuesdays they would have known it was closed). The hotel arranged for someone e to come in but she made it perfectly clear she wasn’t happy about it. Sadly spoilt my birthday Spa break & not being able to just leave our little one as led to believe as and when. Spa we highly recommend too. The room size I asked three times if large enough to have a travel cot too and wasn’t very practical either. A real shame as didn’t meet our expectations.

Had breakfast here this morning as a birthday treat! We only live up the road so only a stone grow away! Breakfast was lovely and very filling lovely staff thank you.

I had the most magical break at Saunton Sands with my family for the Christmas period. We have provisionally booked for 2019, I can’t imagine a Christmas anywhere else. The best I’ve had in years. Until December 2019 cheers Saunton Sands x.

Attended a wedding here and stayed the weekend. Lovely spot and great hotel with pools inside and out which are great for kids. Amazing wedding breakfast. Meat was gorgeous, fantastically cooked and this was for over 100 people. Quite how they managed this I don't know. What was less impressive though was the breakfast which was he usual buffet. So some of the stuff had been sitting out for some time. Sort of like what you get at a premier Inn. If you want anything special like kippers etc this IS cooked to order but they charge extra for it. I was a little disappointed given how much they charge B&B that all breakfasts aren't cooked to order…

Great stay here — staff were very helpful — porter happy to run us down the pub in hotel minibus.

Wonderful family hotel with a delightful terrace overlooking the beach Dishes are well — executed bistro fare at lunchtime with a fun build-your-own ice cream sundae option.

Fantastic afternoon tea in an idilic location looking down over the beach. Service was excellent, as was the selection of cakes and sandwiches. The view from the dining room is exceptional.

This hotel is directly on the SW Coast Path. Public areas are sumptuous decorated. Coast Path walkers should be aware that there is a dress code for using the restaurant after 6.30pm, which I was unable to meet with what I was carrying in my backpack. Those wishing to arrive by helicopter will be pleased to find a helipad beside the hotel.

Sarah and I got married at Saunton Sands Hotel on the 12th May 2018 and it was the most fantastic memorable special day that we could have asked for! The Wedding Planner Kevin was really helpful, professional and very easy to talk to; plus everyone at the hotel was fantastic… from the staff to the door men; the wine guy to fine chefs! We could not ask for better service and for a venue in Devon (or anywhere for that matter) this is the place to get married! That view over… the magical huge beach and standing on the terrace with a glass of bubbly is stunning… I'm so glad I was talked out of getting married abroad! We stayed in the ground floor apartment for a few days before and after the wedding; absolutely beautiful and highly recommended getting an apartment as there is plenty of room for guests plus all the wedding stuff! To top it all off the wedding suite was amazing; breakfast in the morning after the wedding in your bathrobes on the balcony overlooking the sea… Magic! Highly recommended and a venue that will stay in our hearts forever; we'll be back for our anniversary no doubt!

Hotel clean and staff very pleasant. Seemed to be more a family hotel catering a lot for children. Food good but not really a hotel I would reccommend for solo travellers. Hard single beds and ignored by waiting staff.

Upscale traditional welcome and friendly service. Amazing views whatever the weather. Surprisingly bigger menu in the beach bar than the hotel at lunchtime.

New Year Break. They are undergoing refurbishment so the squash court was closed, it would have been nice to be informed before our arrival. There was only one snooker cue which was annoying and little details in room such as light bulbs out and hooks on the doors would have been useful for winter coats etc. Little details really but sometimes small things make a holiday. Would still recommend as views are fabulous but we are trying somewhere else this year. I am sure we will be back at some point in the future.

Just totally my favourite place to eat and stay — never fail to be wowed by something each time we visit. Top notch restaurant and the best staff to go with it. Love the pistachio and rape seed cake and last night's pistachio sabayon with raspberry sorbet is my new fave! The location is simply stunning, best view ever whatever the weather (and some special rooms even have clear glazing in the bathroom — so you can even admire it while showering! ) Can't wait to return.

Stayed here as a family of 5 in room 505. Brilliant room. Staff amazing. Food superb. Will come back again. Took a 5 yr old, 15 yr old, 16 year old and my wife. Great family friendly pool.

We've been here to eat a number of times and it's lovely. Great atmosphere and amazing views across Saunton Sands.

We had a fabulous time, everything was five star. All of the staff were friendly & helpful. It was busy when we stayed, I can quite understand why some families stay year on year. A comfortable, stylish place with a view to die for.

A fantastic hotel with stunning views. We had a sea view room looking over the beach and burrows below. It's a bit of a hike down to the beach but well worth it. During our stay we were very lucky with the weather, which obviously helps with the stay. However the weather had no affect on how wonderful the staff were during our stay. Nothing was too much trouble. The food in the restaurant was excellent some very good options and extremely well cooked. The picture is a view from our room.

Hotel overlooked the beach, sea view room, had everything we needed plus extras of a robe and slippers! Excellent food, staff friendly and helpful. Good facilities, would go back.

It isn't modern but the views are hard to beat and forget. The restaurant is as good you'd hope, with the seasonal menu generally being the way to go. The proximity to two such impressive golf courses is a bonus.

Holiday flats are in need of some maintenance. Lights not working, faulty and dangerous radiators and kitchens not well equipped for basic cooking. It's a shame because the flats themselves are lovely and the hotel location is great with lovely views. Revisited 1 year on. No real change. Still a great location with premium prices holiday lets but not well maintained/cleaned.

Really enjoyed the stay here. Excellent rooms, great staff & lovely views. If you want to relax with good service any time of year, you can't go wrong really.

Great place to stay and the new "Penthouse" is amazing. So pleased to get upgraded to this fantastic new refitted apartment.

This hotel has stunning views out across the expansive beach below. We spent some time in the pool and played a few games on the ping pong table. The final day involved a walk down the pathway for a chance to blow away the cobwebs on the beach. We stayed on a Dinner, Bed and a breakfast basis but It is surprising that there are such a vast amount of items on the dinner menu that are actually with a supplement which is disappointing. Even for breakfast the pancake option carries an additional fee. A tradition with brends is to turn up the temperature to an almost unbearable amount in the bar areas maybe to make you buy more drinks. Fortunately during the day there is complimentary lemon water at the bar. Ensure you turn your room radiator off on arrival and be thankful for the fan in the wardrobe. Overall we had a lovely stay and had a great family get together.

What a great location and superb hotel; room, facilities and dinner was perfect — just what I needed to relax at the weekend.

Stayed in the Lorna Dhoon annex as guest of some friends. What a disappointing visit. For what they payed it was appalling. The apartment resembled a sixties council flat. The smell from the linen store at the foot of the entrance stairs was nauseating despite the copious spraying ot air fresheners. The balcony overlooked the the the kitchen roof where to massive ventilators discharged the various fat laden fumes which made the opening of windows or relaxing on the balcony impossible. The noise from the ventilators persisted until late and started soon after sunrise. Stay away an save a fotune.

Visit much improved from the last time we had afternoon tea it was terrible I was taken for afternoon tea for my birthday and the service was apaulling after a couple of phone calls with the. Complaints we got 2free vouchers so used them Today. Excellent could not have been more attentive and obliging.

Superb hotel located on the coast with a magnificent view, indoor and outdoor heated swimming pools, bathroom and very clean rooms. We went there for a wedding and the meal was delicious!

Gorgeous location. Slightly dated and in need for a paint here and there but very clean place throughout. The room was spacious with a beautiful view and all you need for a pleasant stay The service was at high standards in hotel and restaurant with very good food served through the day. I would stay here again for the lovely location, great facilities and services.

I came home after the meal at Saunton sands hotel and I had two feelings, sick and bitterly disappointed! It was a disaster! We got dressed up and all excited all afternoon and we got there and the food was gross it was cold and I felt that I was eating school canteen food! We paid a awful amount of money for something that was put together in 1 minute. We were eating and a plate actually got taken away from them while they were eating. It was altogether bad! I highly recommend not going and wasting your money!

I'm sorry to say but I was not very impressed with the restaurant! It is a lovely place with nice views but unfortunately the food was quite awful! It was very ordinary food for a quite massive price. £36 per person for a tiny entree, a bad main course and a small dessert! That' is not acceptable! Also, Nearly everyone who went to dinner in my family came back with stomach cramps. I am quite disappointed and I do not recommend it until the food standed is raised!

I'm a 12 year old boy and I recently went to this restaurant to have a meal with family. I was also with some other children in teens etc. We looked at the menu and our faces turned into a disappointing frown. Posh food with silly little dressing and displays, all for what a bad review. I actually feel bad for the chefs because they make all the effort to make the food and then for them to find that the food was rubbish. For goodness sake just put simple burgers and fish and chips as everyone likes that. Listen to my advice otherwise you have made the wrong decision. I am thoroughly dissapointed.

Our meal was luke warm and tasteless. Posh place, posh food names but the food was absolutely rubbish and we paid a fortune for the privilege. Friendly staff. Disappointing for an 80th birthday celebration.

This Moya person does not know what shes talking about, Saunton Sands is an amazing hotel, shes just jelous she isnt able to stay because of her dog! If dogs were allowed the hotel would not be up to its incredible standards.
