Went for a family meal 2 days ago for my 40th birthday. The food was fantastic and so were all the staff. The only negative I have was the time it took for our main course to come out after our starter. With 2 small children who were hungry I had to go ask how long it would be before they came out (I think it was a good 40 mins). Other then that the staff the views and the food were fantastic and we’d definitely return again in the future.

The most wonderful place with spectacular views. The Gluten free options on the menu are so good and the GF squid is just truly scrumptious. If anyone is in the area of Lewinnick Lodge I would highly recommend a visit to this outstanding restaurant. 5* for Coeliacs.

Good food, beautiful location, wonderful service.

A real disappointment after a lot of good recommendations. Starter was bland and main was overpriced for what it was with sparse sauce and overcooked seafood. Service wasn’t great either. Would only return for a drink and the views. Such a shame.

I have put recommend as the service is normally good but we have visited twice in the past 3 days and unfortunately Lewinnick have “dropped the ball. ” Staff are friendly and food is good (but not great) we had to remind staff of drinks order on 3 occasions, dirty glass on table and was replaced with another dirty glass (it was probably dishwasher marks but none the less it should be replaced with clean) Asked for appropriate cutlery 3 times for orders. Service fell short on several other occasions, too many to list. We took clients there on Friday night and left embarrassed as we told them this was a great restaurant. We normally recommend this restaurant to guests but unfortunately I won’t be doing this again. Very disappointed.

Two lovely meals whilst on our holiday in Newquay! Staff very friendly and approachable!

Booked a table last minute for cream tea and glad I did because it was busy when my friend and I arrived. There was a great vibe and atmosphere, staff were welcoming, friendly and smiley. Cream tea was delicious, warm scones and perfect amounts of jam and cream. I asked for extra hot coffee and it was perfect.

Wow great place to stay. Brilliant rooms, great food, friendly staff, will definitely return. Our room was fantastic and had the best views!

Love this place. We always visit when we are in Newquay. Always busy but the staff always find us a table. The view of the sea is priceless!

Had a great stay for 4 nights with kids and dogs, lovely room with a fab view. Friendly staff, thanks to Tara and Dave who looked after us especially well. The dogs were made so welcome. Breakfast was delicious we enjoyed our stay and would recommend.

Stayed here twice and it's our favourite place to totally chill and enjoy the view of the Atlantic. Dinner last night was delicious, there's a superb breakfast and the staff are lovely. Honestly never want to leave!

Really tasty and quality food… not 5 whole star top end luxury, but 4.5 stars of very very tasty food at a reasonable price considering. Friendly staff in the main. Great view across the sea, so nice experience.

Great food great view BUT lots of dogs in barking and not being controlled. 1 on the table next to us was at the end of his lead begging for food at our table. Not nice for an evening family meal. Food was very good tho.

Food looked amazing. We only stopped for a drink but will definatley go back for good at some point. The views are brilliant and the lodge is beautiful.

The car parking and disability access is surprisingly good for it’s location sat on the edge of the rocks over looking the sea and Newquay. We were lucky to witness a magnificent sun set from the seating area at the rear of the building. The only problem I have is with their bar staff and there attitude towards some of the customers. Will I go back yes there restaurant and food looks excellent.

Lovely restaurant. Always average food. We've been numerous times over the last 19 years and their food is always underwhelming. Today we went for breakfast. Coffee was like warm at best. Toast not toasted. Eggs snotty. Streaky bacon not crispy (and who decided streaky bacon was a good idea on a cornish breakfast?! ). Such a shame as the place is so nice but they need some new chefs and have done for many years.

Fantastic location. Brilliant new outside area only spoilt by people smoking. I would greatly appreciate the banning if smoking outside as it is very antisocial for the majority of people choosing to sit outside for a drink or food to enjoy the amazing view and fresh air. Please please please ban smoking outside. Why should we have to suffer the smoke when we want to sit in the fresh air. Thank you.

Great venue. Plenty of parking. Wheelchair friendly. Dont think dogs allowed inside, (maybe on the balcony, please check). Open for just a drink if not eating. Casual food and seating round the central bar or more formal eating in restaurants area. Spaciously laid out. Brilliant views all round from floor to ceiling windows. Menu was varied and all sounded delicious especially the specials and vegetarian options. Didn't dissapoint, food was very good. Service was good. Prices appropriate for standard. Lovely dining experience. Suitable for an occasion or driving of an evening with friends. Only tiny criticism would be too blinding in the 6pm sun by the huge windows! Could have done with a blind pulled down a couple of inches. By the end of the meal our eyes ached from squinting and my face was bright red!

Just been on a four night stay and it was fantastic. Stayed in the partial sea view room which was slightly noisy as you are over the kitchen but the hotel told us about this before taking our deposit. Upgraded us to the luxury sunrise room free of charge on the last night of our stay. Breakfast was superb and so was our meal on the last night of our stay. Amazing views, would definately recommend.

Been going here for a couple of years now and I am always welcomed and have a friendly experience. The food is very good and is complimented with sea views. Highly recommend to anybody.

Went for breakfast with family and friends this morning. £10 for a cooked breakfast that was cold. The coffee was cold. Bought the kids breakfast baps. Menu said the bap came with sausage bacon and egg. They arrived missing the eggs. When it was queried we were told we had been given out of date menus and they no longer come with eggs. We had to keep reminding the staff that we were still waiting for 2 drinks, they finally arrived once we’d finished our food. Very very disappointing. Very expensive for very poor food and poor service.

Having spent over 30 years in the hospitality industry I can assure you that it is not often, fortunately, that you come across a restaurant with food as poor as I experienced last Sunday at Lewinnick Lodge.
Took my wife and daughter for Sunday lunch, started with pate, mass produced flavourless, served with cold packet toast. This was followed by roast beef thinly sliced dry and overcooked served with a Yorkshire pudding burnt on the outside and undercooked in the middle with vegetables that were so overcooked they were totally devoid of flavour.
We had a few drinks with the meal and was aghast to find the bill came to £90.
When I mentioned to the waiter my dissatisfaction with the meal when paying was met with total disinterest.

One of my favourite local spots! Great food and fantastic location. Have eaten here for breakfast, lunch and evening meal. Can highly recommend the Veggie breakfast among other things… Dog friendly in the bar area too, which is fab as it's a great spot to walk the dog then call in for a coffee.

Sat down out our booked table to dirty water glasses. Service was very very slow waited 15-20 for drinks to arrive and food order to be taken. When ordering we were informed that the starter we wanted was ofhe menu! We then waited another 30 minutes for my partners starter to arrived which wasn't very good for the money we paid. We then order a cider each which then took another 15 minutes to arrive. We had to wait 45 minutes for our mains which had missing ingredients, when we asked the waiter she said "that just happens". The staff were not concerned at all with how poor the service was and were very unremorseful. We then received the bill only to sit for another 10 minutes, we then took it upon ourselves to go to the bar to pay. Appalling service and food wasn't much better either! I recommend other local pub such as the Smugglers den!

This place has one of the best locations in Cornwall, the food is excellent and the staff are lovely. Perfect 10 shame they can only get 5 stars!

Great place to just have a drink or gave a bar meal or eat in the restaurant. Fantastic views out to sea & back to Newquay & fistral beach. Food is a little expensive but very good & worth a treat. Dog friendly around the bar area. Free Wi-Fi. Rooms available too.

Just want on to headland for a walk really and because the wind was so bad we went inside the hotel to get a warming drink. We had our dog with us and they are allowed into the dining area too providing water for them. I thought this was great. Would definately recommend it again.

Fabulous Hotel, beautiful rooms staff are very helpful and friendly they really look after their guests. It is great that Lewinnick Lodge is dog Friendly, will definitely be staying here again.

Just loved it. So alive all day. Original in many ways and no problem getting what I eat (strict training diet, often a difficulty when we are away) incredible position on Pentire. Can't wait to revisit. Five star plus.

Honestly, I can't praise this place enough! We stayed there in early February 2017, and it was truly incredible. The rooms were roomy, comfortable and had amazing views; every single member of the staff were friendly and helpful; the food and drinks were perfectly cooked and very reasonably priced; and overall, the experience was absolutely fantastic! Definitely planning to return on my next trip to the UK!

Fantastic views and good food make for a good place for lunch or dinner. Service has been good both times I've been. Menu might be a little limited but everything I've ordered has been good.

Very beautiful location. On a good day the views are amazing. The food was very good as well — fish and mussels were very fresh and tasty. Very reasonable prices for a such location. Service was very quick and nice. Also there is free parking.

We visited the Lodge for morning coffee and cake. We were served by a pleasant young lady who, although not knowing the job, did her best to help us identify and choose our food. The coffee was good and served quickly. Atmosphere lovely, very modern but relaxing. Plenty of choice of tables allowing a great view of the sea.

Hospitality as it should be. We stayed 3 nights in this wonderful property. Suites are incredibly spacious and have great views of the ocean. Comfy beds and armchairs in which to stare at the ocean and enjoy the spectacular sunsets. Oceanview rooms are smaller with equally good views, if not better. Good sized bathroom area. Both rooms have wet rooms with rain showers as well as baths. Breakfast is delicious and generous. You order from a menu which offers both sweet and savory options. They pull a really mean latte too. Restaurant staff are friendly, accommodating and efficient. The welcome at reception is variable depending on who is there. Some more friendly and willing to help than others. A great hotel I would gladly recommend to friends and family. A couple of small touches which would have made my stay that bit more comfortable: shower cap, body lotion and cotton buds. In most hotels these are givens and we didn't think we needed to bring them with us.

A very nice restaurant in an amazing setting. We really enjoyed our meal, the only criticism we could make is the menu needs a bit of tweaking. Possibly a bit more choice, We've been a few times over the last few years and it doesn't seem to have evolved much. But overall a very good place to eat with excellent service. We will return on our next visit to Newquay.

The views over fistral beach are amazing and a good atmosphere. Service can be a bit slow at times.

I really liked the look off this hotel when staying in Cornwall for my honeymoon. We booked a room online, reading the reviews on the lovely views. However when me and my new husband turned up we realized this was also a place for the locals and we didn't quite fit in. The staff were very pleasant and showed us to our room. That had a lovely view of the car park. I have to admit I was a little disappointed.

Went for a birthday meal, nice food and great service. Menu hasn't got loads of choice and we're waiting a while for food but the service staff did apologise and explain that they were busy. Would visit again.

Very welcoming and the food has never been a let down. Take your time and relax by the fire on colder days. Whether you're there for breakfast, lunch or dinner. There is a joyous experience to be had. Special occasion? They'll even sort you out with a delicious cake. We've not even got to the location. Great decor inside which, compliments what Mother Nature provides in the outside. A great experience all round.

Absolutely love this place. The atmosphere and scenery are amazing. The staff are very helpful and polite. Would recommend this to anyone who would love a quiet peaceful and romantic meal. Also ideal for families and business functions.

On our tour of Cornwall in April 14 this Location was the positive highlight! A sensational eye — a sunset, like a postcard, and a stylish and cozy room. Back-friendly mattresses and the best (English) food. Overall, highly recommended — a smooth 1!
